Following speculation that Wayne Rooney was again ready to make a move away from United, he has today given an exclusive interview with the Evening News where he claims that he wants to stay at the club for as long as we want him.
“I look at the likes of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes at United and they are a massive example to us all,” he said. “To play in this league at this kind of level for so long is incredible. It is what we all want to do. Hopefully, in the next 10 years, I will be having this conversation with you again about 20 years. That is the plan. I have said many times that as long as I am wanted here at Man United then I will be a Man United player. Obviously, I had that situation a couple of years ago but made it clear very quickly that I had made a mistake. As long as people want me to be a Man United player, then that is what I will be.”

first!
I support you Wayne, now start excercising and loosing your weight. And be ready for the rest of the season.
Great…this season looks promising. Rooney needs to fire in games where RVP is off-color. I think he can also be a midfield engine for us in 2 years time. Enough time for Welbeck & Chico to influence games on a regular basis.
Needs to get a grip & shape up, talk is cheap!!
yes wayne u should stay and lose some weight !
Well, you may be a good footballer Rooney but I don’t have to like you. Scholesy is the epitome of everything I want a United player to be, so I wouldn’t be devastated if you were to leave in the future. Its tough to forget you holding the club to ransom and nearly leaving for our biggest rivals.
for me no one can pull a giggsy and scholesy again, with the lifestyle and money they have right now ? i dont think so.
on the other thoughts.
evra getting shitty every game.
clev need to be more consistent.
SAF should not play welbz wide left ever again.
and dont drop de gea please.
cheers to the 20th !
He screwed up, he made a mistake. He’s admitted it, apologized to fans and the club, and he’s banged in many and got us many crucial points since then. The least we can do is to accept his apology graciously and support one of our own.
“Be not too hard for life is short
And nothing is given to man
Be not too hard when he is sold or bought
For he must manage as best he can”
when i see wazza still get his chance after a few shitty games in a row, i feel sad for berba. imagine if berba get all the same support as wayne got, he’ll be better i think. (wazza biggest fan)
I kind of think this book was sanctioned by United as it clears the air. But talk is cheep, actions will be the currency of our business.
Still pleased he is saying all the right stuff. Now to get us #20 and kick on to higher heights.
129 league goals (27 last year) 30 in europe (5 last year) 181 in all competitions.
3rd on the all time list for United goals.
I think the nay sayers should cut the lad some slack and see where he goes from here. He will be a United legend, even if a complicated and flawed one.
United Goals
1. 249 Bobby Charlton
2. 237 Denis Law
3. 211 Jack Rowley
4. 181 Wayne Rooney
5. 179 George Best
Sorry, 4th on the all time list and potentially moving to 3rd and second at 30+ goals a season. Cheers
witnessing threats on his own place, i can only imagine Rooney will sharpup and work harder in order to last the distance of finishing his career at the club. Fourth highest scorer at united, at his current age, he’ll be the ultimate top scorer by the end of his footballing journey. Some speak about his betrayal but maybe we all need to realise most players are mercenaries. I’ve felt like that before and expected loyalty from players but reality snapped naivety from me, i realise that players are employees and employees only. The likes of maldini, del piero, Giggs, scholes e.t.c are a rarity but Rooney, as a footballer is a legend at the club, there’s no question about that. Hopefully he recovers quickly from his injury and return fired up.
Quit smoking, cut down on the alcohol, try a bit of yoga and we’ll see how well this goes…
Can’t see it happening to be honest.
He is quality! and I back him 100% because he gives 100% every game.
He said that the last time but then he would also be there as long as SAF was still manager so let’s wait and see.
Match your words with action,lad
Heard all this before and the apology came after Utd paid him 250k a week,as long as he produces fine, just lost all his mulligans with me.Don’t trust what he says anymore

Completely agree my friend. He’s easily one of our most key players, and that’s including the arrival of Persie. I understand what Persie did last season was unrivalled but Wayne has been consistent for us, the way VP has never been in all his years at Arsenal bar his last. Hope to see these two complimenting each other in harmony in the near future. Also hope to see him spending the rest of his career here. Even if that means going into a midfield role later on. I fully believe Wayne can do it.
Fuck you and your new book. Just wait until your carear is over like normal people.
He is obviously a money grabbing whore, who i don’t think cares for United as much as he claims, but he is on his way to become the highest scorer of all time for united and that will make him a legend. It sounds a paradox, but that’s what most of the players are at present. Money grabbing whores who can become legends.
@ SwedishRed
Yoga ….. OK if you say so. We have Yoga places here in Texas. I thought they were just for looking at the chicks go in and out and to laugh about as I chew my beef jerky from an innocent animal killed be me or an acquaintance.
@ Orez. I agree more or less but some DO actually care.
@LoneStarRed
Giggsy’s going to yoga classes and that (in combination with not smoking and drinking heavily) is probably the reason for him still being in the game.
But hey, whatever floats your boat. Go and stare at chicks if you want to, but that’s kind of desperate.
Well, Wayne, whenever you leave United, that’s when your career will finished!
@ Swedish Red
Did I mention that I would be driving by in my big Texas sized pick up truck blaring country music as I did that. The one with the gun rack.
@ Swedish Red
I don’t stare at them! Goodness gracious man that would make me an unsafe driver !
What a load of shite. He has fucking choked because of the impact that RVP has made.
The timing of this interview has got his agent written all over it. For the first time since Ronaldo went he is not the self proclaimed “big man”
He has turned up unfit, overweight and incapable of doing his job, and RVP has done his numbers simple as. Now he has realised we can live without him, but his agent can’t live without us. Hence the lip service interviews.
Ask yourself why now?
Costas, I share your view too!
