Rooney: Our Fans Will Remind Chelsea Of Moscow Defeat

“Losing the Champions League final to any team is difficult but to lose to one of your big rivals is hard to take,” said Rooney. “The next game against that team is always going to be a big one, with people talking about the final and the players no doubt thinking about it as well. You could definitely tell it was still on their minds and I am sure it will be the case again tomorrow – I bet our fans will be reminding them.”

Rooney then reflected on the rivalry between the two clubs and thinking about what a win could mean or us.

“You always want to play against the best teams,” added Rooney. “There has been great competition between the two sides in the last few years and there is always a lot at stake whenever we play each other. It’s a big match for us because we know if we win, we will be within a point of Chelsea.”

I trust Rooney to let it rain on Chelsea. I also hope he keeps the Muhmmad Ali in him in the closet tonight and not let any fly except his rockets on goal. :)

Wayne fuckin Rooney… Gotta’ love this lad. He just fuckin loves the fans, does’nt he? He’s got probably the best relationship with the fans. Top bloke.

I hear that the rent boys team were called out of their beds for an hour or more this morning due to a fire alarm going off at the teams hotel. Must have been SAF. Come on United!!

  8. EastStandManc says:

I still think inflatable bottles should be the order of the day, rather than bananas. Watched the Final again last night and he clearly slips AFTER he struck the ball. He bottled it.

Bananas, bottles, whatever. It’s all good, really!

    Viva John Terry!

  9. King Eric says:

    Yes! Yes! Yes!
Im looking to what Scott made of that Victory! And some footage from the stands!

  12. denton davey says:

King Eric – your sentiments were mine BUT we were both wrong. Giggs was just immense today. The best he has played in midfield for several years. Amazingly, it was as the deep-lying midfielder, too. The guy’s versatility is phenomenal – wide man, withdrawn striker, attacking midfielder and now deep-lying holding player. AND he’s always been able to put on some displays like this one – it makes you wonder what SAF put in his pre-game “energy drink”.

Another thing, it wasn’t just Giggs who was outstanding – ThreeLungPark was just terrific doing the midfield, ankle-biting Manchester terrier. Over and over again, the RentBoyz crashed on the Korean Rock.

Jonny Evans played so well that Rio – Rio Ferdinand the best defender in the world ! – wasn’t missed. And, when Patrice Evra limped off John O’Shea – the much-maligned and derided John O’Shea – came in and just slammed the door shut in the RentBoyz’ faces.

I heard the Setanta broadcast and Iain Dowie was the “colour commentator”; he’s something of a mate of SAF but you have to credit his analysis that UTD’s strength-in-depth is probably the key reason why TheLads will likely be EPL champions again this year. Imagine any other team keeping players of Paul Scholes and Carlos Tevez on the bench in such a key game.

  13. OTRed says:

I just love the fans who went into self- destruct and doubt mode just by seeing the team sheet.

  14. TonyBee says:

Denton Davey: Spot on mate …Giggsy was man of the Match for me, closely followed by Parky, what spirit the lads had. I wonder what SAF said to our lads to get them that motivated……That cunt Ballack must be choking on his words now, the fucking tosser.
We were immense today, and I’m happily awaiting Scotty to get home from OT to start his posts….. Me? I’m off to the Rentboys blogs for half hour or so just to take the fucking piss…..

  15. denton davey says:

TonyBee – Ballack can’t be choking because he’s still in intensive care after being blown over by a gust of wind.

This IS a time for gloating – I waited a full two hours before sending my obnoxious message to my pal Fitzpatrick in Vancouver who is no doubt in denial.

Like I wrote a few days ago, IF the RentBoyz lose there could be major upheavals at Stamford Bridge. After giving up when they went down by two, it is clear that they have lost that “Be Champions” mentality and are now beginning to hang on by their fingernails.

Could it be that Chel$ki – and not TheArse – drop out of the Big 4 ?

  16. King Eric says:

Denton: I know i feel a right twat. He was excellent today. Both he and fletch bossed the middle of the park, first to every ball and won every tackle. Park was superb like you say snapping away. Evans and Vidic were huge at the back.Neville led by example again. Evra makes such a difference going forward down the left. Most positive thing is scoring 3 goals and Rooney and Berba getting one each. Also once again Vidic banging one in with his head. Nowt wrong with Ronaldo s headed goal, very clever corner kick. We could have got 5 or six. We embarrassed them today, they had nothing going forward, no ideas and no creativity. I predict the shit could really hit the fan down in West London now. They will undoubtedly be calling for Scolari’s head. Imagine the embarrasment in front of Maureen. Great atmosphere. British bulldog got some right stick. He has become an absolute comedy figure. What s with the school boy haircut tiny tears. They could not cope with United in any dept today. It was good to see Tevez putting his hand on heart and badge. SAF said after game that the spanish waiter is “disturbed” fuckin classic!

This will have sent shockwaves right through rent boys and especially the dippers. The season will belong to us again.

  17. Red-Manc says:

Grat game, great atmosphere, great result. Everyone played really well today and the scoreline says it all. Evans stepped up to the occasion and the ‘strange’ midfield of Fletcher-Giggs worked really well, Sir Alex showed the footballing world yet again that he truly is a genius, Alex Is God.

I really felt for Tevez today, the reception he got when he was only warming up shows how much we love him and he showed that it meant alot to him aswell by the hand on heart thing, i fucking love Tevez but Ive got a bad feeling its just not going to happen for him, hope im wrong and i hope we sort it out soon.

Good to see Berbatov getting a goal aswel should do his confidence some good

  18. Costas says:

Great game by the lads.It is the most passionate performane by them since the 1-0 win over Chelsea in 2005.And especially congratulations to Ryan Giggs.I don’t know what to say about this man anymore. He ripped apart the Chelsea midfield at 35 years young. What a legend!
