He was trying to be a hero.. and if it had not been for a dozy midfield and the inability of most of the England to actually do much, then he may well have been. Looking positive.. Rooney had the appetite... long may it last! Annoying isn't it. I only mentioned to my Dad on Saturday against Estonia that Rooney tracked back after making a mistake and got the ball back. He shouldn't have been back on the edge of the penalty area and that is not his fault, the manager and the midfield and the joke that was Lescott playing at left back.
