Wayne Rooney goes in search of his 100th United goal against Burnley tonight, something he thinks he should have achieved against Birmingham at the weekend.
He is also hoping United can make it four in a row this season with him playing in his favourite position.
“It could have been 100 against Birmingham,” said Rooney. “I had some great chances which I missed, but their keeper also made some good saves. I’m enjoying my football right now and thankfully the manager has come out and said he’ll play me up front all season. So I’m really looking forward to that. We want to prove to everyone that we’re worthy champions and that we can win the Premier League again this season.”

hope so wazza.want to see him become more clinical.hope he gets 100 tonight.played really well against Birmingham overall.if he becomes more clinical he can get 30 goals a season without the penalties and free kicks.
Most importantly hope he stays fit all season.aftr chelsea’s display last night no 4 will be difficult but we can do it.
He is definitely going to get it against burnley!! and a great oppurtunity for Owen and Berba to get on the scoresheet..that’ll ease their nerves..hoping we can win big tonight!!!

Rooney is really looking sharp this season. I don’t think people realize how much professional he is. He accepted his role as Ronaldo’s wingman, and focused on his part as an important jigsaw in the puzzle.
I think that the partnership of Rooney and Owen this season could be very interesting. It seems like there is an invisible string between them and they pivot around the field in a perfect harmony. They will both net a few…

yup.i m sure rooney will get loads of chances today.this is the easiest team we will face in the league this year and we should make a statement tonight.i think we may see the owen rooney pairing tonight.i m more concerned abt the backline though.evans looks unlikely to start so wes and oshea may have to play at the back.they are used to playing at wingbacks in last few years so it wont be easy for them.

No Worries. Unfortunately for Burnley I think they are going to be on the receiving end of a real thrashing today. 5-0 is what my gut tells me. Rooney double, Berbatov and few from midfield / defence.

Emm, it’s on digital cable (not sure if this the same as cable). SSP is a south african sports channel. I guess if your cable operator doesn’t have it you might have a different setup then me.
Besides ESPN, Star Sports I get a few other sports channels (NBA, Star Cricket, Ten Sports, SSP 1, SSP2, SSP 3, Extreme Sports)

i have a set top box of incable.the channels i get are espn,star sports,ten sports,zee sports,neo cricket,neo sports and star cricket.i mk sure my cable operator wont do this setting but in case u r watching and i m sure you will watch plzz update the scre on ROM.that wud be very kind of you.

why isnt espn showin the midweek matches in india….they did show the matches last season!
@admanutd : its only this 1 set of matches i guess. even last season the mid-week away game to WBA was not shown on ESPN-Star in India.

ESPN will be showing the Ch.League qualifiers in the rest of South East Asia but in India we get it on Ten Sports, therefore i guess these matches won’t be broadcasted and this would be the only time the Ch.League matches n PL matches will clash.

ouch. That defeat tonight hurt big time. Rooney is trying too hard, had a poor game. BUT…. alarm bells should be bloody ringing. We are a team in a rut. Take out Giggs and Berbatov and who supplys any class? That was only Burnley, we were just rubbish. Rooney cannot do it all on his own so when he struggles it hurts. Wake up Fergie, we scraped home on Sunday and lost tonight. Evra tried hard but Anderson and Park were way below par. Early season rust? We need a big player at OT from somewhere.
