RvP CRAZY To Pick United Over City

A walk down memory lane…

Three weeks before Robin van Persie signed for Manchester United an article appeared in the Evening News which claimed that fans would be “mad” to believe that the Dutchman would come to Old Trafford and that Van Persie would be even “crazier” to sign for us.

One of the funniest thing I read.

    Making me laugh.

This author failed to realise that we have history and the legacy and SAF behind the decision, and that there is still a rare case of players who choose history over money, adn when they do, they usually comes to play for us

We are ManUtd and we buy when we want

i’ve read that mate. lemonade juice never taste so good this year :D

  6. FletchTHEMAN says:

Funny thing about Stu Brennan, sounds a reasonable bloke when you first read him or in person. But then you realize that the facts just don’t add up, and probably never would have. A bitter man.

  7. FletchTHEMAN says:

Wonder if any of you lads recall 2008 when we didn’t get a parade after the CL win.
At the time, Manchester city council was quoted as saying they couldn’t provide security and the issue was about the Rangers fans who had trashed parts of town a few weeks before.

Now, loads of people pretty much accepted that explanation with a healthy dose of skepticism given that the club had had loads of parades without major incident and that the issue of the rangers fans had nothing to do with us.

NOTE: Hope you are all sitting down for this next bit.
(So today, in a discussion that actually brought the above mentioned Stu Brennan into it)

IMUSA revealed correspondence with the Council where spokesperson from the council basically says they alway want parades and the reason 2008 didn’t come off was because UNITED wouldn’t cover the costs!

    http://www.imusa.org/newsarticle.php?id=346

For me this smells of Revisionist history. It could well be that the club did decide it couldn’t cover the costs. But my clear recollection was that the city was heaping added security and other fees to help it cover the mess created by out of control rangers fans a few weeks prior.

I was gutted we didn’t get our parade that year. Always figured bitters in the council screwed us out of a famous celebration that year.

United a “fading empire”? City a “thrusting new power”? — Oh how we laughed.

  9. Northwalesred says:

FFS if we’re going to have a new crest I was hoping they would put FOOTBALL CLUB back on it. This is just another money maker to get everyone to buy a new set of shirts

  10. WeAreUnited says:

    @united till i die

you know what, I think we should get 2 starts to our crest since we’re 20 times champions!

    peace

  12. United till I die says:

No new club crest it’s a fake. Usually EPL talk is spot on with the stuff they put out but it looks like this is a rare occasion they are wrong

  13. WeAreUnited says:

    @united til i die

obviously it’s fake, but I meant we should really put 2 stars since we’re 20

  14. kanchelskis says:

    Off-topic but really interesting:

Spain’s unemployment rate is 27% – does that mean that Barcelona/RM will be selling clubs since they can no longer get zero-interest loans for the banks.

If so, then I’d just love to see SAF low-ball Barcelona and get Alex Song who has just wasted his time this past year, sitting on Barcelona’s bench behind Biscuits.

  17. FletchTHEMAN says:

    RE the new club crest.

Heard it was NOT from the club. aka a spin off.

Probably someone selling fakes. Looks like a cross between Bayern Munich and City.

    Not impressed.

  18. In David We Trust says:

FletchTHEMAN – what is funny about this article is? he said united looked weak and feeble, yet shitty could not even beat united on points, it took a last minute winner to manage to take the title off united this was without RVP, while united have walked the league title with plenty of games to spear,

  19. Moringe says:

hehehehe who is punch-drunk now, shitty are deluded cunts and so are their fans,,i bet a new baby born today would still pick united over city,,
    United till i die

  20. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Denton Davey,
Been an interesting chain of events in Spain. Not just the low interest loans. But allowing clubs to buy cheap land and then the govnt buying back at inflated prices. Been going on since Franco.

Also interesting is that footballers in Spain and France will have to pay the super tax. Many, like Ronaldo have contracts that essentially guarantee clubs will have to cover this. Could lead to lowing contracts in a few years.

  21. King Eric says:

    Fucking ignorant cunt.

As in David we trust said another Rob Smythe article all over again. Oh when will they learn?

    Isn’t Brennan a bitter anyway?

  22. FletchTHEMAN says:

In David We Trust. Making sense out of Brennan?.. Ha! not worth my time son.

Off topic: Regarding the Suarez 10 match ban,

Defoe had a biting incident that received no ban in 2006. The ref gave a yellow card and the FA deemed the incident was NOT an exceptional case so the FA couldn’t change the ruling of the ref.

However, there was apparently a second biting incident in 2006. Rogers mentioned it. He said it received a 5 match ban. Does anyone remember what/who that was about?

  23. parryheid says:

Not so ceazy it would seem

  24. In David We Trust says:

FletchTHEMAN and King Eric – I will always remind any bitter, they went on and on about how good they were last season compared to this season, and still they only beat united on GD. Not points..While united have won the title with a gap going into the double figures, if shitty done this, god help us all

also FletchTHEMAN – I still cannot help but laugh at rogers, we are bitterly dissapointed, cannot help but laugh at the pun, yes brendon, everyone at liverpool is bitterly dissapointed, suarez feels extra bitter after tasting ivanovic’s arm LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  25. RedHarry4Life says:

Whatbshould also be mentioned was that last season every member of our 1st team squad was out injured for at lkeast 2 weeks. I repeat EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of our 1st team squad was out for at least 2 weeks.

Mankini was saying that theyhad some big injuries in Kompany, Yaya and Aguerro, and if it had not been for that they would have been closer.

Well robby kiss my sweaty hairy ass. This year with a lesser injuries list we have walked the league. Hope the hell we get the points record.

Just something off te point did anyone notice that Fergie had Januzzi in te changing rooms after the game to join in the celebrations. That boy looks the real deal wonderful control great pass stronge for a skinny weedy kid. Like him a lot.

  26. denton davey says:

FketchTHEMAN @ 17:54: “footballers in Spain and France will have to pay the super tax. Many, like Ronaldo have contracts that essentially guarantee clubs will have to cover this.”

Apparently, PSG paid Ibra’s 75% tax bite but they can’t do that very often.

Madrid are baulking at paying CR7 a much larger new contract to off-set the disapperance of the “foreign footballer” tax in Spain – it used to be 25% but has now been abolished so that TheVirus will have to double his pre-tax salary.

I’d imagine that Mr Mendes is talking to SAF about what Chevrolet and Nike might be able to do to supplement Cristiano’s “image rights”. That’s the big unknown in this equation.

the m.e.n is just a blue rag its only giddy fans who buy it and believe the shit what they put in

  30. Dela says:

LOL, that was an entertaining read!

It’s not a surprise though. The manner in which City won the league last year masked the fact that they weren’t actually as good as they seemed. Let’s not forget that last season, again, Arsenal were struggling for top four and Chelsea were way off. So that left essentially a two way race for the title and when it came down to it, United blew it at the end of the season.

That’s it, United slipped up badly and got overrun earlier in the season when down to 10 men, with 1 recognized defender on the pitch and 3 City strikers on. That’s what won them the league, those two moments.

This year, we’ve had far less negative moments in the league and let’s face it, we fucking blew them away. Have they been any closer than 5 points since the Etihad game at the end of ANY match week? I don’t think they were. Had we not had the injury crisis last season, if we even had a proper defense at Old Trafford and didn’t lose 6-1 and countless other cases of our luck going extremely sour, we’d be celebrating another three-in-a-row. This season we exposed City and showed that we’re still CLEARLY the dominant force in the league. Out of the past seven season, we’ve won it five times, and stupid journalists should sit up and take note of that.

Oh and responding to an earlier post… for a City blog to call RvP, “Robin van Purse strings” is so hypocritical it literally blows the scale! Would they have been able to lure Tevez without the money? NO. Could they have lured Aguero? NO, Could they have lured Yaya Toure? NO. Could they have lured Samir Nasri (a FAR bigger mercenary than RvP on ANY unbiased scale)? NO! Their whole fucking first team is there just for the pay check, they don’t give a fuck about Manchester City.

Basically, Manchester City can’t get laid on looks, personality or anything else, but they have money to buy whores!
