RvP: I want to sign contract extension at United

Robin van Persie has revealed that he hopes the club will offer him the chance to stay longer than the three years his current deal ties him at the club for.

“I have three more years to go and I would like to stay longer,” he said. “I know, and I see people around me, making decisions where I think these guys will look back and say “was that a good one?”. I don’t want that. I want to play as long as possible at the highest level. Last year we got one trophy in four. Now we have to look at it from the opposite side. We have the chance to get five this year. How many do we get out of those five? In my opinion we should be able to win two or three.”

@Rukky, this site has gone to absolute shit on a phone becuase of the adverts. I’ve pretty much stopped looking on my phone. These fucking shit things at the sides can sometimes cover the whole side of the screen from top to bottom making it completely pointless.

Nice to know that advertising is more important than users being able to read content…

People bang on about European experience whereas it is not the be all end all.You need the right players and the right strategy.Di Matteo and Avraham grant did that without having experience.Moyes is a astute learner of the game.He has got ambition.Surely he must have thought about managing in UCL at some point in his Managerial Career.

Yep, I hope Gary leaves in a public “can’t sit near that gobshite dickhead” press release and comes home.

Shame though as he does a magnificent job when that twat isn’t trying desperately to one up him to make good his failure to ever win a Prem trophy…

A bit off topic (I guess not really) but I am very proud of our under 19s in the European leagues. They always yap on about how English talent is nothing compared to European talent but we’ve just come down from 3-2 down against Leverkusen to win 4-3 despite playing with Ten men. Extremely proud of them.

  20. The One says:

Woohoo, nail-biting stuff but we won in the end. Some defensive errors from both teams but we showed character to win with 10-man. Hope the experience will do the young lads a world of good.

  21. mig78 says:

    what a game.
2-0 up by 9th minutes. we got sloppy. they equalised 2-2. we tried to push 4 the win, got caught up, down 2-3. perreira equalised to make it 3-3. reduced to 10 men. forced to defend as BL was pushing for the win. then the wilson boy took things on his hands, did a solo run from a counter, went around their center halves, pulled down inside the box as they can’t keep up with his pace. penalty. smacked it home. 4-3!

  22. UnitedFaithful says:

Leverkusen last season finished 1 point behind Dortmund. They have got Lars Bender on Centre Mid who can be a handful and are very good at counter attack from what I have read.It won’t be a walk in the park. Will be interesting to see how Carrick and Fellaini dovetail.

Breaking News – Scholes assisting Butt on a game to game basis….no wonder he was at the U-19 Euro game.

Adding to the Scholes vs gerrard/lampard debate :

    http://sabotagetimes.com/reportage/why-manchester-uniteds-scholes-is-better-than-liverpools-gerrard-chelseas-lampard/?

Anyway, my personal view: Scholes is definitely a much better player then the other 2 in terms of ability and technique. All the ABUs don’t realise that the reason ingurland haven’t made any headway all this while is because they’ve refused to use Scholes in his best and preferred position. They’re making the same mistake with Carrick. Deluded lot. Carrick should follow Scholes’ example and retire from international football and focus on United.

  26. UnitedFaithful says:

Congrats to United under 19′s,showed United mentality to win despite playing with 10 men for the last 15 minutes.Well done lads.

  27. UnitedFaithful says:

MUFC: De Gea, Smalling, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Fellaini, Valencia, Kagawa, Rooney, Van Persie

    Smalling on RB?

  28. UnitedFaithful says:

Smalling playing after a long time.Kagawa starts.Width and plenty of creativity.
    Come on United.

    Seriously smart lookin side!

Bench: Lindegaard, Evans, Fabio, Anderson, Young, Cleverley, Hernandez

  31. Ash says:

Good line up. Would have preferred Fabio start but Smalling needed to get the chance. ALSO A BIT SURPRISED Zaha is not there. Maybe has to wait a bit more for his chance.

  32. WeAreUnited says:

“In the last 15 to 20 years the best central midfielder that I have seen – the most complete – is Scholes” – Xavi

and just look some threads ago when Scott put some great quotes about Scholes.

ONLY the FOOLISH will think Scholes is not better than those 2 clowns, who are good, but never like Scholesy.

Maybe I’m quoting wrongly but Messi said something like this.

“In the La masia they call him the teacher” – Messi

    btw good line-up! BRING IT

  33. FletchTHEMAN says:

Nani suspended, The ghost of Cakir still looms large

  34. zaha says:

im not sure about the right hand side but we look great every where else

  35. montanared says:

Great to see Kagz , hope to see him and rooney switch back and forth since I think Kagawa behind RVP would be lethal. Great side, defensively sound, plenty of goals, expect a great night at Old Trafford tonight !!!!
