Robin van Persie has thanked the Manchester United fans for their support since the summer move from Arsenal. He is currently the top scorer in the league and when you include his assists, he has 22 in 18 starts.
“It’s always nice to be recognised by the fans,” said van Persie. “I have settled into the club quite quickly and I am really enjoying playing in this team. I would like to thank the fans for all their support. It’s not all about scoring goals, but obviously that does help. It’s great that so many players have scored goals over the season so far.”
Van Persie is chasing his first winners medal since the FA Cup one has from 2005 when he came on for a substitute in Arsenal’s incredibly fortunate win over United. United are currently seven points clear at the top of the league after some great results in December.
“December is always a difficult month and I feel we have come through this period as we wanted to,” he added. “Hopefully we can now push on for the rest of the season.”

Man Utd News 24/7

What is love?
Robin van Persie
van Persie
Scores goals!
RvP is a blessing this year, make no mistake. 20 goals in 26 appearances.
With Rooney injured, we would be a completely different proposition then we are now.
Daily mail ran a piece a couple days ago that found Robin van Persie earned Manchester United 26pts in the EPL by contributing goals from losing or drawing positions. That was twice as many points earned as the second lad on the list (who we will meet on Sunday BTW). The article is suggesting that RvP should be a shoe in for POTY based on current numbers and impact to his club. Have to agree 100%
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2258352/Robin-van-Persie-valuable-player-Premier-League–team.html
Lest I forget: Thank you Robin for coming to our club! No man is bigger than the club. But that is not to say that Robin van Persie isn’t on big big player!
You’re welcome Robin Van Persie, absolutely welcome.
More amazing Stats that I have pulled together from various places:
Robin van Persie has scored in 77% of the games he has played in (20/26) this season for ManUtd
Robin van Persie has scored the winner in 33% of the games he has started (7/21) this season for ManUtd
Robin van Persie has scored 4 injury time goals and 3 injury time winners for ManUtd.
Robin van Persie has scored 20 in 26 matches for ManUtd. Scoring 1st, last, or winning goal in 50% of his matches.
Robin van Persie won United Player of month for December. Scoring 5 goals in 6 games, including the fantastic winner v City!
Makes one want to come up with a chant in Dutch?! Hmmm
Robin has saved up many times this season but we have saved him from spending an eternity with gunners without trophies.hopefully he will stay injury free.
Don’t cha wish you had a striker like RVP.
Don’t cha…….
After losing the Title on GD, robin’ van purseful of goals from the gunners sees us top.
RvP wants to show man city that last season they were not to take the cup but the red devils
@Fletch – do you work for opta stats or one of these companies?
You’re knocking out some serious data there about RvP. All of it very impressive indeed.
How’s his goalscoring record against the scousers?
Rvp we are enjoying your performance for us
Whos heard the news about sneijder going to galatasary for 10mil???
Crazy!!!! Google it..
I bet liverpool will bleed to death after sunday. Go man utd
Shame we didnt sign him couple years ago, champions league final against barca coulda been differant story.. Owell always this year.
Really Very Perfect…….RVP
@Fletch, nice stats but I beg to differ on this point….With Rooney injured, we would be a completely different proposition then we are now. … Someone will always step up at United. We arent reliant on one player. We had Berba for 19, Ronaldo too. He is a striker and we got him to do that. May be Chich would have produced the goods or we would have got another. We are United and we always challenge.
Yepp, as brilliant as he’s been, let’s not forget that even without him we scored plenty of goals last season. What he’s done is given us 2 world class strikers in our squad instead of the 1 that we had before. Improved us, no question – but someone always steps up at United.
What the stats show is RVP is doing his job very well he’s one of the best in the world and some of the goals scored very few players could’ve scored.Without him it’s unlikely Utd would be seven points clear RVP has become Utd’s new talisman has reduced Rooney to a secondary role that’s how good he is
Everton blog saying Danny could be going there on loan didn’t think the Reading move made sense going to Everton would be a good move
@trollhunter
No loan move makes sense.
We’ve got four strikers. One gets injured and one goes off form. What happens then?
@kanchelskis can’t loan deals be set up that if Utd need Danny back then he comes back?.Danny needs regular games and not on the right or left wing.I rate Danny very highly but at the moment is 4th choice and not getting enough playing time
@trollhunter, Danny is too established for that. I think he has to decide whether to be patient or not. He has to take the games he is given well. Yes, he is a striker but even if he is played in the wings let him do it well. Chicha didnt get much of a look in last season but he works, so Danny should.
@trollhunter
We’re still in 3 competitions. The games will come.
Besides, he offers something different to Hernandez. We need the tactical flexibility of being able to play him or Chicho.
Plus, he’s not getting as little game-time as you might think. In terms of actual appearances (not minutes), there’s only one player who’s made more than Welbeck.
Wouldnt loaning him out and recalling him unrest the boy? Like kanchelskis said.. Too established. And his all round play is good enough for united
If Welbeck can work on his finishing as successfully as Hernandez has worked on his all-round game, we’ll have one hell of a player.
Danny Welbeck isn’t going anywhere on loan. Tha’t silly talk.
@kk too established to help Everton battle for CL and be their main striker disagree mate
@kanchelskis appearances are irrelevant if its for 15-20 mins stuck out on the wing.Danny is a striker and is still developing the more games he can get at his proper position the better.I don’t see a loan move to Everton as detrimental at all,we all have our opinions just think Danny has become stunted somewhat
@trollhunter, not too established for Everton but he is established as a 1st team member, and plays a main role for national team. He isnt a fringe player was the essence of that point. He would get more games but wont he want to stick it out at Everton if he thinks he isnt getting what he deserves at United?
What more can we say about this man? He’s scored in wins against Liverpool, City, Chelsea and Arsenal already, and he scored 2 winners in those games. Thats what you call class, turning it on against the very best teams in Europe. Keep that up Robin and you might just win an EPL Title in your career! He deserves all the praise he’s getting, easily the best striker in the league. He’s scored some brilliant goals already and its only January.
In other news, Bebe scored a beauty on his debut
if he makes the step up from reserve football to regular competitive matches in Portugal, we’ll be recalling him back for a second look soon enough. I know people say he’ll never be a top player, but I remember people saying that about a young Cristiano and thinking to myself “are you fucking blind?”. Naturally talented, two footed, has pace and is 6 odd foot tall and solidly built. I don’t get the negativity surrounding his Bebe. Even if you’re not convinced, he’s still a United player ffs!
Not very sure but I would think his statistics for the past 1 1/2 years are only bettered by Ronaldo & Messi
I wish Bebe becomes a success with us or elsewhere, he has been put down so much. What happened to dreaming or a Cinderella story?
Welbeck on loan makes no sense imo – first of all he isn’t Kiko, he’s an experienced International, and secondly, we only have 3 recognised strikers and that isn’t enough for 3 competitions.
Waiting for your chance AND taking it is all part of a young players development anyway. Sunderland was a good move, and he needed the confidence gained from being a valued player, but Danny is above going on loan at this stage. Grabbing the same amount of goals as Hernandez last year was a solid start, and the arrival of RVP shouldn’t be underestimated either. Imo Danny should stay here, fight for his place, and make sure he’s ready to perform when Alex selects him. Even if he’s playing wide, he’s a young lad and it will improve his overall game. Going on loan would be counterproductive. Maybe Powell needs a loan as he’s played fuck all football, but putting Danny in the same bracket as Bebe or Kiko or even Fabio is daft. He’s a much more accomplished player than that.
@AlphaRS that’s 2 teams in a week being linked to him so I’m wondering if Utd have put it out there. Having thought about it playing regular for Everton instead of making 20minute cameos on the wing for Utd would be better for him
@kk Danny is a Red through and through has been patient and accepted all of SAF decisions up to this point he might even welcome it the Sunderland loan brought him on immensely
@ UTID
Apparently Powell’s injured. Darren Ferguson let that one slip.
Bobby Charlton and kk cheers lads
Don’t use opta or any of those nice resources. Would love to have the dosh to sign up actually.
Just my little old calculator, and the game stats, that’s it. That’s why I rarely have data for multiple years, just don’t have the time to slog through it all. Tell me there is a market for this and I’d gladly get paid for it
RvP stats? That’s a cinch
kk, I generally agree with you son. But for me, RvP has been the difference in desire in more than a couple of games. City for instance this year. Last year we dropped 8 points in last 5 games, wouldn’t have happened in a Roy Keane or a Bruce/Pallister, or a Cantona side, I’ll guarantee ya that!
RvP, for me, seems to be THE guy, that have looked at himself in the mirror and said “I” am going to be the man. Lots of the team just seem to be out there jogging at times. I’m sorry, but you don’t give up the goals we have done with any other United side in the EPL era. Wish Fletcher was feeling his oats. Vidic as well. This side needs a kick up the backsides at times.
But we probably agree more than we disagree. I am not saying that we wouldn’t be tops. But if Rooney missed 4 games in a December without RvP? Think we would have dropped a couple more points. Fair enough?
Also, If he stays health? RvP is our MVP or I just don’t have a clue. Probably POTY and PPOTY as well.
But then, I don’t understand that FIFA World XI either, so that’s me then.
Sir Alex has frequently played strikers on the wings, and it’s par for the course at academy level.
Part of the learning curve. Onward and upward in Danny’s case. A star in the making.
@United Till I Die being the starting striker for potentially a top 4 club is hardly the same as any other loan move you mentioned.Everone keeps saying Danny is established so what established players get loaned out all the time
Let me ask another question does anyone think playing 20mins a game for Utd mostly out of position is better for his development than playing every week for Everton.Established or not Danny is still young and learning his trade
@trollhunter
Everton play with 1 up front and have Jelavic. Also no European competition to rotate for. Not sure he’d necessarily get many more centre-forward minutes there than he will here.
Makes no sense to loan him, especially from our point of view. Come the next few months, Welbeck will be needed more and more (fingers crossed we can get through the next rounds of the FA Cup and CL).
RvP you beauty.. ¤Oneutd20¤
I’m not saying loan him out to anyone but playing every week for a top club would be better for him than his present situation imo
If we loaned all the youngsters out, we would free up enough squad spaces and wages for a few lucky dips in the transfer market this window. I do fear that time is running out.
What do we all make of the Zaha rumours btw? Quite a few sources who don’t usually lower themselves to spurious speculation, seem to be implying it’s got legs…
@kanchelskis obviously if Danny isn’t going to get regular football pointless sending him.Moyes is very ltd with his strike force Danny would give him more options.
I’m just looking at what’s best for Danny’s deveolpment
@trollhunter – Everton are a big club whatever way you look at it, but that doesn’t mean Danny should go there. IMO he shouldn’t go anywhere he should focus on bringing the FA Cup back to United, and reaching the final of the League Cup. People reckon this season has been a disappointment for him, but if he works hard to perform and deliver in the cup games he does start, he could end up lifting some silver he played a major role in winning. We’re only half way through the season, far too early to write off his campaign as a failure. Fair enough he isn’t starting in the EPL and probably won’t start in the knockouts, but thats thanks to RVP!. When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade and be grateful you have hands. Even if he doesn’t feature in EPL or CL again this season, Danny bringing home the League or FA Cup would be huge for a lad of 22 at a Club like ours.
Other than that, Kanchelskis had it right when he said theres no guarantee he’ll play “week in week out” at any Club he goes to. Also, he might not be playing as much as he could, but he is still spending loads of quality time around the Squad and the Club, and thats something he can’t do at Everton or elsewhere.
Bollocks, just remembering the Nani goal in our League Cup defeat to Chelski, nevermind.
Just bring home the FA Cup Danny!
I sure hope this table makes the lads seeth. It does me. One place above LFC, good day for them.
26 places below Chelsea, OOOOh, that hurts.
http://www.iffhs.de/?10f42e00fa2d17f73702fa3016e23c17f7370eff3702bb1c2bbb6f28f53512
But it is based on results and 2012 wasn’t much of a year for us.
Trophies in 2012
Chelsea . . . 2 CL FACup, 6th in EPL
Liverpool. . . 1 League Cup, 8th in EPL
United. . . . . 0 Trophies, 2nd in EPL
The truth hurts at times. Whole squad needs to look at themselves and sort it this year.
off topic – would this goal be scored by an english team?
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/video/2013/jan/07/greek-children-goal-video
@kanchelskis read yesterday SAF wants him so bad went Godfather on their ass.Utd will buy him and let him stay also give them loan players to help get promotion, made them a offer they coulldnt refuse.True or not I don’t know
Does anyone know that Danny isn’t going to get regular football?
Doubt SAF knows, how could he?
LOVE YOU ROBIN. Can’t wait for Wayne to get back so this partnership can continue to grow stronger. Please DESTROY Livershite on Sunday. We believe in you guys.
Hard to argue against this mans greatness and salary. It’s usually said that we can praise 1 player without putting another down but in this case we are finally seeing what a 200K+ player should be doing. City Millionares and Rooney just don’t seem to be players that should be earning anything over 150.
RVP seems to be carrying this team at times as much as people don’t want to admit it. Some of the goals he has scored, no other united player could. simple as.
IFFHS rankings explained
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics
Points are assigned based on wins, draws and loses in continental competitions. The more competitive continental competitions are weighted higher. For example, for the UEFA Champions League and Copa Libertadores, 14 points are awarded for every win, 7 for every draw and 0 for every loss. The UEFA Europa League and Copa Sudamericana award 12 points for a win and 6 points for a draw and so on.
@DreadedRed unless there’s a downturn RVP,Rooney and Hernandez will stay ahead of him limiting his playing time to FA Cup,odd Prem game and sub minutes.
NairobiDevil says:

This would be the same Rooney who, since getting his big contract in October 2010 , has scored 60 goals? The same Rooney that played a major role during the run-in to title number 19 and us getting to the CL final? The same Rooney that’s produced the goods in 95% of the big games we’ve had over the last couple of years? The same Rooney who’s only played 16 games this season but is still our leading assister with 9…plus a further 8 goals?
Another thing with Nani and Kagawa coming back from injuries will ltd Danny even further only so many places to go around. We all have our opinions Danny getting regular football at Everton imo would be a good move for the lad
A loan move would definitely not be a good move, people talk as if united are blessed with billions of forwards, take welbeck out and you have a deficit of options. He’s a striker that brings variety and is developing, he has an important role to play.
Please tell me this is a joke?!
I think I will go home early and have a quiet drink.
Leaked Manchester United 2013-14 Away kit.
Nike shirt are utter dross
http://www.redmancunian.com/2013/01/10/picture-manchester-united-2013-2014-away-shirt-leaked/
@fletch. It’s actually not a bad shirt. People will ALWAYS complain about everything when it comes to our kits. It is NEVER good enough for some people. I like it anyways.
I don’t get it, people feeling sorry for players and “trying to think what’s best for them”. Give me a break, every top level teams has intense competition and if you want to make it within that level, a player has to accept he’s a PART of many components and not the main engine. There will always be competition but those that believe in their ability will cherish it. It’s not an indictment or a failure on welbeck’s part for not starting regularly in his role, he has to compete with accomplished forwards, it was always going to be a fight but danny has a good attitude and is learning from them all. He has the quality to eventually start regularly, he has worked hard to be the player he is at united, he won’t throw it all away because a couple of fans are weeping over his lack of game time, he’s learning and will hopefully become stronger for it. United needs every quality it can get, a player like welbeck will hopefully play a vital role.
Fine for you son. My kids all have enough sleep wear. Wouldn’t be caught dead in it.
Was just told that Sir Alex was so upset the last time they did a grey kit that he sent it back. 1996. One can only hope.
Give us a simple black. I love the black.
Grey is for dish cloths and nighties.
Its not feeling sorry for anyone its what’s better for his deveolpment big difference and anyone thinking being a sub for United is better than weekly football at Everton is balmy imo
Bobby Charlton’s combover:
No, because clearly James Collins Jr. would have hoofed the ball upwards, “looking” for Andy Carrol Jr.
I’m sure the player and coaches know what’s best for his own development though, he signed a new contract knowing he’ll have to work very hard not only to get into the team but to establish himself. I certainly would NOT send any united player on loan to everton, they’re one of the teams capable of derailing united, i wouldn’t strenghten them, they have enough quality as it is already. It seems to be a week for backward steps, first “FWANKIE” lampard gets linked to united and some seem ok with it and now send a player that’s already went out on loan, made a leap in development and is close to getting in the team. What, because united have van persie, the club should get rid of the other qualities it has?. Goodness me, are people being hypnotised by city? Weaken the squad because we feel sorry for players. The rumours i have read at times is definitely NOT encouraging.
@diego – and it would have been miscontrolled and run out of play before an almighty goalkick sent it back down the field and after a bit of head tennis it was brought under control only to be launched forward again to be flicked on by carroll jr into no mans land before being cleared into the stands……
ooo robin van persieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ooooooooooooo……. ro…..
Even with Danny don’t see Everton winning the title that’s the only way they could derail Utd.Just love how some posters completely distort what’s being mentioned to make some point that hasn’t even been discussed
trollhunter
It seems you hypothesise that were Danny to remain a fringe player at United, he’d be better off at Everton. This could perhaps apply to any player in existence. I might even suggest that a regular kick-about in the exercise yard at Strangeways is better than a life repairing benches and polishing boots with no game time. Of course Danny is not quite as peripheral as that.
Sir Alex is integrating Welbeck while tutoring him while managing his growth spurts while trying to win the league. Better him than we.
Phil Jones is young and developing. Chances are he won’t get regular game time either. Do people wanna send him out on loan as well?
Reading’s Brian McDermott distanced himself from one of the more unlikely transfer stories of the January window. “I can’t see Sir Alex Ferguson sending Danny out to any club. I don’t know where this has came from, it’s got nothing to do with me,” McDermott said.
He added: “Welbeck’s a great player and I’m sure Sir Alex Ferguson thinks he’s a great player too. Everyone in the country thinks that.”
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – -
Not everyone. Some care less for Manchester’s own than their own short-term gloat-ability.
@DreadedRed this only came about because a Everton blog was talking about Moyes getting Danny on loan.My point with Utd signing RVP,Hernandez finding his form,Kagawa and Nani returning Dannys game time looks ltd.At the stage of his career playing regular football for a good team would be good for him imo
Some just want to take what I’m saying out of context and add things I haven’t even said
Think it would be no harm for him in the sense that he may feel less pressure when in front of goal which would only do his confidence good if he got on a run of goals, though Id be inclined to keep him as it’s coming into an important time of the year and he may well be needed.
As for chicarito well one could argue he would be close to top scorer if he played in all our games
And RVP is just about the classiest striker iv’e seen for utd, up there with kaka and bra ronaldo in their day.. And even the runs he makes off the ball are glorious to watch.. IT’s a privilige to see him in a utd shirt and long may it continue
@Sparkz Danny has been linked not Jones and Utd have a lot more depth in attacking positions. If Danny ended up at Everton on loan wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for his career, you disagree ok.Some people are taking it on a completely different tangent that I never mentioned
Its a very simple question would Danny improve getting ltd minutes with Utd or regular football with Everton all this nonsense about feeling sorry for him and weakening Utd was never the discussion
Just a very simple hypothetical
trollhunter
If we limit our transfer conjecture to tabloid scoops and blog suggestions, we will cover every hypothetical imaginable. Danny’s not going on loan. He is already on the high road to greatness, he’ll fight for his place and take his chances. Just like the rest of them.
It was a never question but it still applies and could affect united down the line during the season, does sending welbeck on loan increase united’s strenghth or decrease it?.
Sending Welbeck on loan puts us in a tenuous situation should Rooney or RVP pick up a niggle. They’d be chanced in matches where Danny would have performed admirably. We are weakened.
Dread – exactly, this is what i am implying. Everything looks alright now with the attacking side but as a club, united cannot afford to rest on its laurels. The club is fighting tooth and nails with clubs that can afford to purchase any quality they want, united have nurtured welbeck and are still doing so, he’s an important member and as the season drags on, united need as much quality as it can get. As a club, united should priortise increasing its fuel than draining it.
Samuel…. Decrease for me. You don’t need to send anyone who has played in 60+% of the games. The lad is being indoctrinated in the ethos of the lads an the ethos of winning.
You won’t learn to hate loosing if you do it week in and out.
Our senior players should never be forced to endure acceptance of failure. My view anyway.
DreadedRed most tabloid scoops do get discussed don’t know if you missed it just had a full thread on a Lampard to Utd rumor and every time someone discusses formations and starting lineups are hypotheticals
So don’t get what point you’re trying to make
Of course Danny going to Everton would make Utd weaker but that was never my question and a completely different issue to the point I was making
Bobby Charlton’s combover:
Something like that, yes. Now let’s get this whizzkid playing in the championship for 10 million or something. Heard he is the next Joe Cole. Or was that Carlton? Can’t remember which one, but sure as hell is the savior of English hoofball (that is if little Jack Wilshere doesn’t work out).
Sparkz – Spot on pal at 16.23 . This notion Rooney is suddenly shit really fucking annoys me.
Sir Alex has again been saying that clubs interested in winning trophies don’t release their players in January. Talk of Chelsea letting Lampard go now, or United loaning out Welbeck, seems like absolute nonsense.
Ha. Welbeck will NOT be going anywhere. The idea is absurd.
trollhunter – discussing a tabloid scoop doesn’t make it true, and it’s living in never-never land.
United makes great copy, tons of it actually. There are enough facts going around, I don’t bother to knee-jerk to the musings of muppets. Welbeck’s not going on loan.
cmon
let”s be honest, Welbeck on loan is as ridiculous as it sounds.
SAF is not that crazy to let him go on loan when the lad was last season a starting regular.
This season has been a bit unluckier and he has to improve his goalscoring record, though it doesn’t help that he’s not playing regularly as a striker.
He has to improve his goalscoring ratio for one reason, CHICHARITO; who has improved his all-around work and has become a better footballer and adding his goal tally, it doesn’t help Welbeck.
Welbeck’s all around game is amazing, but he’s a player who needs to score, cause he’s a striker, even though he’s played more as a winger this season. But the lad needs goals. No matter how good he’s playing. Strikers live with goals.
It’s just that Chicha who is a goalscoring machine has also improved his allaroung game, RVP is one the worlds best players, and Rooney is our talisman.
MY OPINION, is that Welbeck should implement himself as a winger this season more, cause we haven’t got that many wingers, and he’s capable of doing that. And when an opportunity comes to play as a striker, to score more goals. Nothing else.
His all around game is eyecatching and simply amazing, but no-one will remember him for that, if he doesn’t score. He has time, and will get better, just look at Chicharito. So no worries about that.
But 3 strikers being on fire and Kagawa playing as an AM should convince SAF and Welbeck to start picking himself more as a winger, but soon as he gets the chance, as a striker. There’s nothing embarrasing about that. Look at Thierry Henry.
I have alot of faith in DannyTheLad, tha’s why don’t get why people think I bash him, I just expect so much out of him.
A LOAN? He’s not a kid anymore. Ridiculous, as ridiculous as having Lampard here. If he comes he comes, but it wouldn’t improve us.
Welbeck is too good for a loan deal…Period, chances will come and am sure he will soon take them. We need all our strikers.
For RVP, I still find it unbelievable that he’s playing for us, what a f** great player. He scores when he wants. I like his celebrations too
DreadedRed didn’t say it was true got the impression from previous comments ROM doesn’t discuss tabloid scoops or hypottheticals when in fact a large percentage of ROM content is discussing tabloid stories and hypotheticals
trollhunter – hypothetically they are hypothetical. Or am I imagining it?
@fletch 15:40. I didnt notice Shitty in those rankings lmao.
Why the injection of hypothetical needling? Intravenously we are all Red.
DreadedRed not that smart only you will know the answer
CR7: “”I have a contract and I am happy here but as you say, anything is possible in the world of football,”
ONLY GOD KNOWS !
Belfast Red They were there, down around 40. Those rankings depend more on international competitions. But clubs sucked in europe if we are brutally honest.
Still happy to laugh at city.
Davey Cheers mate. Glad you liked that link on the Reads.
Dirty!…. the whole ugly lot of em HA!
Heres some news:
Wayne Rooney pushing to be Man United sub vs Liverpool http://mirr.im/Vog6lZ
Apparently Roo had a word with the boss this morning. Desperate to have a shot at pool! Hmmmm
Fletch i just seen the bitterz in 40th. Every cloud and all that eh? Lol.
If thats true bout Rooney being a sub its a dilemma. Imo If he’s not fully fit i wouldn’t play him incase it put him out for longer. Its crucial we get him bck 100% as soon as. Anything that could hinder that or put it back is a nono for me.
Mhm. And we, reciprocate your feelings fella.
this is football
http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Features/2012/Dec/video-manchester-united-real-madrid-2003.aspx
It’s unbelievable how good he’s been so far this season.
@dee i remember that game like it was yesterday. Ronaldo showed us why exactly he was Ronaldo. He was absolutely devastating that day. I just had to raise my hands up that day. But hey we fought and at least we won on the night. Great day for football but Ronaldo’s second especially was absolutely BRILLIANT.
I think there some people who are underestimating Welbeck’s talent and skill and even his contribution. Welbeck at 22 is a different kind of striker that you would love to have in your team. He wins possession (Remember City game due to that we got the freekick) , Boy has pace and can go past his opponents. He can play on wings as well as a Centre Forward.
He will get his chances. We are in hunt for 3 trophies and I would want us to win atleast 2 out of 3. Welbeck will play a crucial part in doing that. Let us be patient.
RvP to score a double against loserpool, just need the lads to keep sending the correct passes to him and not go for long balls
Good morning reds.
Happy Birthday Bryan Robson (56 today)

for a huge club like united…depth in the squad is essential..look at the teams we competing with…say city..they have strikers in aguero, balloteli, dzeko and tevez.losing danny would be a mistake if we intend to compete for anything!
Mr Bryan Robson
1. Captain Marvel for our first 2 EPL, titles after decades of disappointment.
2. He started that winning mentality with that started the resurgence of United in the 90s.
3. If you look at his scoring, 99 goals in 461 games, you will be hard pressed to see a better return from an out and out midfielder. It is the same percentage as Scholes and Beckham and compares decently with many forwards we have had for goals per game.
Right and he loved to beat Liverpool. Winning 8 and scoring 8times against them in 19 attempts.
In those days, Liverpool didn’t like lossing to anybody.
Robo taught them how to get used to it v us… 19 games 8W 8D 3L v pool
Right, and one of my favorit memories ever was this tasty number back when we were sh*t

Love that man over much… Hope he is with us for a long long time! A class act!
More superstats from Fletch. Robbo was determination personified. He was the original hard drinking hard playing footballer and gave everything in everygame. Delighted he was around long enough to win the league as no-one would have deserved it more. I love his goal celebrations as you can see just how much it meant to him.
SAF comments on Robin van Persie: very good read
“I said some time ago that I don’t think we appreciated the full use of him but I think that’s happening now…We’re more familiar with the type of player he is and that’s helped us. He’s become really important to us.
