One newspaper claimed today that Alexis Sanchez had made at bet with £20,000 with teammate Marcos Rojo that Manchester United would sack Jose Mourinho.

The Chilean has had a tricky time since joining United almost a year ago and while the manager played him in nearly every game after signing him last season, he struggled to find a way in to the team this season before his injury.

However, Sanchez has taken to Twitter to deny the claim, saying: “This is FALSE!!!. José gave me the chance to play for the best team in the world and I only have gratitude for him. We are a truly United team. We are MANCHESTER UNITED. Respect. I can’t wait to help the team !. Good luck tomorrow family!”
