Looks like we’ll be in safe hands.

    Welcome back Shmikesey

  4. Ugandan Red says:

The Big Dane legend back at OT…sweeet

  5. Costas says:

It’s nice to have him back. But to be perfectly honest, it will take me a while to warm up to him again. I know it’s been 10 years, but I thought he celebrated a bit too much in that derby game at Maine Road.

  6. mancdub says:

He could probably still get a game.
Welcome home Schmieks. Bring your gloves.

  7. Busby babes says:

big fan of schmeichel great servant for us, i know he went to cash and carry but he was easily an extra 9 to 12 points a season, man mountain between the sticks.

  8. 0161-Jon says:

jobs for the boys again :)

  9. James21 says:

I was just going to write something about that. It really pissed me watching him continually punch the air in front of the shit fans and like you, I’ve never forgot it. Its not as if he left under any cloud or fell out with anyone at the club.

  10. James21 says:

Never the less a great servant to the club and well worth his Utd Legend status.

  11. ed says:

I loved this guy to bits. The amount of one-on-ones he saved was insane.

I too was really, really offended by the deliberate barracking of United fans he did when playing for shitty. It was so fucking stupid…from legend to bellend in a matter of minutes.

Bet he regrets it. Good to see him back.

  12. Costas says:

Hi mate. I know it was the competitive spirit in him (and Gary Nev did him now favors by snubbing him in the tunnel before the game!), but come on. He was still playing for a mob that for 8 years hated his guts. We’ve had former players score against us, but no need to go overboard. Unless your name is Paul Ince of course…

  13. JayKay says:

Thats our legend … welcome home son … ah want same for SAF .. come with ur gloves

  14. James21 says:

It backfired on Charlie Boy big style. :D

  15. WillieRedNut says:

I was hoping for Roy Keane……

  16. Albert Ross says:

Netting Schmeichel goes hand-in-glove with other ambassadorial catches that save millions in the goal of off-field domination.

  17. TheCANTONA says:

Shit!! We should take Patrick Vieira or Bobby Pires as our global ambassador just like Citeh Did.
    Neverthless, WELCOME BACK Big Dane!!

  18. DohaRed says:

Possibly the greatest goalkeeper ever, along with Pat Jennings.

Instead of ambassador, how about putting him in as goalkeeping coach for DDG, Lindegaard and Amos. Might make up for the stupid celebration he did when playing for City

  19. Shebangsthedrums says:

I’m really pleased with this. He was a great keeper, but he also seems to have a good character, I think it’ll be great to have around OT.

  20. Gee says:

Legend as a player for us, one of, if not the best goalkeeper ever!! Complete prick as a human being unfortunatley!!

  21. Gee says:

And thats nothing to do with his celebration at Maine Road!!

  22. LexxytheRed says:

I wont be able to warm up to him unfortunately.

Great GK no doubt but a terrible human being

  23. MG says:

    Edwin Van Der Sar
