Paul Scholes is happy enough with being second in the table but hopes that sooner rather than later we can go top. Whilst most players would be content with just the three points, Scholes wants to see us win with style and become more fluent than we’ve been in most of our games so far.
“Without a doubt there’s more to come,” Scholes said. “I wouldn’t say we’ve been stuttering, but we haven’t been as fluent as we know we can be. There’s been the odd performance – like Tottenham away – where everything’s come together, but I think the best is ahead of us. We’re not too worried about our form because traditionally we’re not great at the start of the season. The difference this time is that, more often than not, we’ve still been winning games. So I can’t complain too much, but we would like to get back to the top of the league – with style. Some teams might settle for getting results, but here at United we aim a little higher.”

That’s what’s so great about scholes, he’s won stuff countless times, yet is not feeling satisfied because we’re not winning in style. I long for the times where we demolish weak teams by putting 5 goals past them easily. We beat blackburn 4-0 last season, let’s do it again on saturday.
Great to hear Paul lad. Some of us have been saying for weeks to the naysayers that our team will click and we will start destroying teams again. If someone like Scholesy says it who has been around the block a few times then I think its safe to say we can expect 4 and 5 nil wins come the second half of the season. It has obviously been an issue with the players as well then that we aren’t playing at our usual tempo yet. Lets start tomorrow.
Fze123 – We didn’t beat Blackburn 4 -0 last season mate. We beat them away 2-0 and won 2-1 at home. We also beat them 5-3 i think it was in the Carling Cup.

mate would you say that the inconsistent performances were down to the fact that fergie has chopped and changed the team week in week out? i’m not sure it could be cos the only part of the team that has’nt changed alot is the back 5.

HARGREAVES’ CURLY HAIR – Yeah I certainly don’t think it helps chopping and changing so much but Fergie always will continue to do so as it has served him so well over the years. Getting the best out of his players at usually the right time. It’s also to do with the fact that as we all know United are generally in 2nd gear till Xmas as Fergie has always conditioned and trained the players in such a way they are always fitter and at their peaks for the second part of the season. Although he recently said he has changed that this season as he wanted United to be quicker out of the blocks this time round. More emphasis has been put on our couple of poor results this season due to the fact we sold Ronaldo and the Judas .

thanks for putting things into perspective mate. do you think that we are struggling without the duo. people tend to take the piss out of united and insist that we are are one man team it’s so sick and unbelievable the worst thing that it comes from other united supporters. tbh i think when we’re on form we’re the best counter attacking team in the world. not even the arsewipes can match that. last season we gave them a walloped them in the cl in their own back yard. as the season passes i’m confident we’ll see the united that was once feared in the league and in europe.:-)
i think that although barca play possession football they are beatable they need you to attack them and united can by playing fast free flowing counter attacking football like in the league and i’ll tell you they’ll crumble and be subdued due to the fact that in spain they play slow tactical football. We are United!!!:-)

I am glad to hear that from the Great Scholes, but i dont think he’s playing the right way for what he has just said. Against Liverpool, he was very slow at deciding the play, he was robbed a bit too many times. I think it’s better for him to just let his game do the talking.
I miss the days when Scholes dictate our play.
