Sir Alex Ferguson thought that Paul Scholes would be out for a few weeks following his injury against Aalborg yesterday, subbed off 15 minutes in to the game. Other reports suggested it could be as much as two months.
Sadly, it’s even longer…
The club have today confirmed that Scholes will be out of action for ten weeks, meaning he will miss 15 games in all competitions, most noteably our away trips to Arsenal, City, Villarreal and Celtic, thanks to medial ligament damage.
How costly is this Scholes injury?

Man Utd News 24/7

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scholes is god
Maybe it is time for Anderson to step up to the plate.
Stephen – spot on. It’s the time for Anderson to seize this opportunity.
i agree- anderson needs to fill the shoes of the ginger prince. any word on possebon’s recovery?
Thats bad. Could of been Scholes last full season for us this season, we all know its coming. I just hope it is, at worst, only 10 weeks til we see the Ginga Ninja back at full pelt again. He missed the same part of last season, and it did us, nor him, any harm in the long run. Hopefully it’ll be the same again this year.
He scores goals he does…
disaster!!!!, maybe, just maybe, fergie could try tevez in central midfield as we have an abundance of strikers and fuck all fit central midfielders, i dont think fletcher and anderson can handle so many games until carrick, hargreaves, and scholes are back…..for me, giggs and oshea are benchers.
Anderson-son-son
He will prove what he is!
but where is saha? anyone? pls if someone meets the guy, just let him know hargo is badly missing him. thanks.
physio, LOL… that was priceless!! hargo has probably fallen fully in love with the head nurse now Saha has been dumped by her… they started their fling behind saha’s back last year, now it’s on.. we won’t be seeing hargo anytime soon lads….
We desperately need both Carrick and Hargreaves now….Any news regarding our “pending” new maestro Possebon.?????
What? O’shea on the bench? He was class against Aalborg! Concerning the Ginger Prince – 10 weeks in the gym, and we get lots of class act performances from him in the last important part of the season. Fletcheradona and Anderson would do well, in addition to Carrick and Hargo. Giggs and Rooney can also slot in as the midfield maestro. No worries lads, good times ahead.
Scholes will be a huge miss. Hopefully Anderson can prove himself some more. Hargreaves needs to get his knee situation figured out because hes going to be huge in big games and especially the Champions league.
Rooney will most likely drop back with Berva and Tevez up fron
Rooney in midfield ? It sounds “logical” but I think this guy needs a stable job-description so that he can grab it with both hands and form an effective partnership with #9.
I’d much rather have Tevez “drop back” into a Scholes-role. He’s much less of a conventional striker (and less so than TheBoyWonder, too) so it wouldn’t be such a big ask. However, I don’t see that happening since there are still plenty of options and Fergy needs to sort out his attacking formation to make the best use of this fantastic talent.
Nobody, not even Anderson can replace Scholes. Carrick is more suited to step in to Scholes’ role. His passing range is better and he can also sit back. Fletch and Anderson will have to battle it out for the remaining place… once Carrick is fit.
We’ve not had much luck so far have we!?
When Scholes was injured last season, Anderson stepped in and even kept Carrick out of the starting XI.
Perhaps it’s a good opportunity for him to gain some consistency with regular football.
Carrick should be back after the Blackburn game and the International break, Possebon only needed stitches cus it was just a deep gash, so 2-3weeks at best. Hopefully we should cope.
scotty dont talk out your arse Tevez in midfield *rolls eyes*
i dunno if scholes will be missed that badly.i mean when he was playing i don’t think he was setting the world on fire..anderson should fit in comfortably.just like he did last year.
SCHOLSEY IS A LEGEND…THE BEST MIDFIELDER WE HAVE…WHAT HE CAN DO OTHERS CAN JUST GASP AT. Ask the players in training who they watch…not roo or ron or berba…but the ginger magician.
BIG BIG BIG LOSS…..HOPEFULLY 10 WEEKS BECOMES LESS AND HE IS BACK ASAP.
Carrick and hargreaves essential now…free from injury pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
and Ando has to step up to the plate now…really needs too
