Sead Kolasinac confirms United offer

BmJv-GPCQAE_PhDSchalke’s left-back, Sead Kolašinac has confirmed to the Bosnian daily newspaper, Dnevni Avaz, that a deal is in place for him to join Manchester United this summer.

The 20-year-old was born in Germany to Bosnian parents and played for Germany U-18s, U-19s and U-20s, before confirming he would represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at international level. He made his debut for them last November and has played another game for them since.

He made his way up through the ranks at Schalke and has played 22 games this season for the 3rd ranked side in Germany.

“Yes, I have offer from Manchester United,” he said. “But, I will not hurry with the decision. I have to see what Schalke think about it.”

Kolašinac was in the press this week after German newspaper BILD pictured him in a night club in the early hours “surrounded by alcohol and cigarettes”.

“My friend and former teammate of Schalke’s Kevin Kuranyi, who is currently playing with Dinamo Moscow, was visiting Cologne and that night he called for his friends hanging out in a nightclub ‘Nachtflug’, including several former and current players Schalke,” the player explained. “I stayed in the club for only half an hour, while Bild had its photographers there who was probably trying to take a picture of something that I would not want to be seen doing by the public. I do not smoke and am not an alcoholic. On the half hour I drank a Coke and the cigarettes which can be seen in the photo are not nicotine. I did not do anything bad and I never would let my private activities affect my commitment to the field.”

Good fort he lad if he is coming, I hope he isn’t another Oberton or tosic like signing.

  2. trevor knightsmith says:

This is the starting line up the fans have voted that they want for today’s match ( Manchester Evening News)

    Goalkeeper: De Gea

    Defence: Rafael, Jones, Vidic, Evra

    Midfield: Valencia, Carrick, Mata, Januzaj

    Attack: Rooney and Welbeck

  3. NBI Red 21 says:

@ trevor – Giggs said Rafael was inured, has he recovered? I would play Smalling ahead of Jones and Mata cannot play in a 2 man MF and neither him or Carrick have pace. Also I would bench Rooney and play Kagawa, he is more box to box than Mata and links play best between attack and defence. Kags, Mata, Welbeck, can all pass at pace and read each others game.

  4. NBI Red 21 says:

Guess Buttner may be out, though he looked much more the part in some games, given a regular run he may eventually be a decent LB for United. Buttner is one of those players I would have liked to see more of. It’s a shame we will likely not make Europa as for players like him that would be game time.

@ trevor – only if! I really hope the new manager does not make Rooney captain, he tried to leave the Club twice, is already over indulged, declining and overpaid and I don’t think the Captain should be someone caught with prostitutes twice including when his wife was pregnant. OK I overlook Giggs sleeping with brothers wife, which I assume was free, but Giggs gets a pass as manager as he is United through and through and at least he is faithful to us.

    NB,

What they do in their private lives is down to them, don’t agree with it , but it is their business. Rooney has made it clear he’s not bothered about United so as far as I’m concerned he can clear off.

I think the side plays better without him anyhow.

The way I see it, the less scouse about the place the better !

It’s about time some of these players (in general) knuckled down and realised what privileged life styles they have and realise who’s paying their wages

  6. DeGeaWeTrust says:

It will be interesting if this deal goes through, I have not heard much about this player, he could turn out to be another evra if he costs us 7 million, or a flop. One thing united must do, get atleast 3 big signings done and dusted before the world cup, if van gaal is going to take over, I do hope he is making the plans has we speak, if holland are allowing him to do this. We need to get this backbone rebuilt, and quickly. One of 3 stages the club have acted fast, sacking Moyes, next step is manager and new signings. Summer 2013 will go down, has the biggest lesson this club will ever learn

  7. DeGeaWeTrust says:

Its going to take the new manage a goodr 3 years to rebuild this squad, and allot of dross needs to go, like young nani possibly valencia, cleverly butner anderson fellaini and many more have got to go, let alone replacing ferdinand vidic evra for starters

  8. NBI Red 21 says:

@ trevor – fair enough, can’t argue with that. Playing wise this was also Rooney’s chance to shine played every game in whatever position he wanted to, fit or not, he had no excuse and he was terrible second half of the season, just cannot hold position and lead the line, poor touch, non existent hold up play and possession, created nothing, for me on form RVP and Danny should be playing. Will be gutted if we lose Welbeck just as he is beginning to be exactly the type of player we need. I hope what has happened makes Danny tougher and more determined to prove himself. People may laugh but I don’t think Dannt is a million miles away from an Henry type player.

Come om, surely team news is out now!

  9. trevor knightsmith says:

Manchester United starting XI: De Gea; Jones, Vidic (c), Ferdinand, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Kagawa; Welbeck, Rooney.

    Degeawetrust

Well said. 2013 summer transfer was a shambolically conducted event. There was no plan. I hope the new manager has approved this player. Not another zaha or varela situation where the new manager never wanted them. If this is a van gall signing then my god this is a master stroke.

  11. Nigel Macmillan says:

A little nervous about carrick and clevs….
Giggs said he wanted to play with wingers and pace…
Only see one winger in that line up
Here hoping that line up can get it done.

  12. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Well it’s time to read all I can on him because I have zero idea who he is or how he plays.

  13. Marko Maric says:

As he is from Bosnia ex Yugoslavia…i would say he was very hood at Schalke this year. Can he adapt on English football, i dont know, but Bundesliga is the closeest to premier league in some ways.

  14. Tommy says:

Not really seen much of the lad to be fair, but this will mean the end of Evra and Buttner should we sign him since I believe Shaw will also be arriving

    @Ash the king

Varellas a work in progress, hes been doing a fine job for the 21s and just because hnes not been seen in the first team just yet does not mean he was never wanted by Moyes, He was never going to come as a young lad stright from Uraguay to the firsgt team
