SEF Reveal CL Semi Plans

The atmosphere against Tottenham Hotspur was impressive yesterday. At 2-0 down, we were repeatedly singing “We love United we do!” and this song was repeated with every goal we then went on to score.

This is good practice for Wednesday night, when we, the fans, have an important role to play. Stretford End Flags urge you to take your seats by at least 7.30 to get the atmosphere going, just as we were urged to similarly last year against Barca. Before that game, Busby Babe, Wilf McGuinness took to the mic ahead of kick-off. He left us roaring, taken over by the emotion and importance of the occasion. The atmosphere that evening was amazing, and we’d obviously be hoping for a repeat against Arsenal.

The East Stand will show the “Believe” mosaic again whilst the Stretford End will be showing a European Cup montage. They’ll also be nine flags waved by SEF members on the goal lines and in front of the North Stand.

Speaking from another fan who can’t see United games up close, make OT a fortress guys!

  7. EvraKL says:

Dang i wish i could be there too cantona7. its included in my bucket list. idk we got a lot of RoM readers from Malaysia tho. ManU boleh.

  8. the Count says:

I look back on the years I spent at the Stretford End with a huge lump in my throat, back in the days OT was a fortress, hopefully you lucky fuckers who CAN be there will turn it into that for the remains of the season. Give em hell!

  9. united_ron says:

lets hope the fact that its a first leg wont spoil the atmosphere! and that we dont have to conced to the the crowd going, best atmosphere of the season was last 10 mins against villa, lets hope we can get it going from the start of the match!

Arsenals away fans are also pretty good, should add to the occasion!

  10. Firestarter says:

    I ll be at OT.

Part of my european trip. Cannot fucking wait to sing with arms wide open.

Please lads it ll be my first trip to OT in 15 years. Yes, 15 bloody years ago i was there with dad. Ever since, have been only catching the lads on tv or their us tour.

Give an occasion to shed tears.

  11. Firestarter says:

    * tear of joy.

  12. Red-Manc says:

I’ll be there cannot wait, Old Trafford is buzzing on european nights Barca last year especially.

SEF do a great job cant wait to see the displays we will be doing.

Everyone going to the match BRING YOUR OWN SCARFS AND FLAGS and try to get in the ground as EARLY as possible so we can get the surfer flag out.

  13. wazza says:

like many others on here, its my dream to be at The Theatre Of Dreams one day. all u people going to OT on wed just keep the atmosphere buzzing throughout the game.hope we play with the same tempo & work rate as in the 2nd half vs spurs

  14. vagelis says:

oh how lucky are you people!i love United,i do the last 12 years, despite i cant come at OT,but i hope this dream come true one day

    United’s flag is deepest red,
It shrouded all our Munich dead,
Before their limbs grew stiff and cold,
    Their heart’s blood dyed it’s ev’ry fold.

    Then raise United’s banner high,
Beneath it’s shade we’ll live and die,
So keep the faith and never fear,
We’ll keep the Red Flag flying here.

We’ll never die, we’ll never die,
We’ll never die, we’ll never die,
We’ll keep the Red flag flying high,
Cos Man United will never die…

PS: costas are you from Greece?cause you’re name seems to be greek

  15. Funited says:

  18. Where's_my_bottle says:

Give them hell u guys…I should be able to hear Wenger wailing all the way here in India :D

  19. redmojo says:

I’ll be sitting in class in a horrible mood wondering how the game is going. When I watch it (recorded) I hope you drown out the announcers! You can tell the crowds mood even when you’re watching it in the U.S. on espn. I’m always disappointed when I can’t hear the fans singing because I try to sing along while I’m sitting on my couch! Can’t wait to go to Old Trafford someday…

  20. says:

Believe again? They should do something else IMO

  21. King Eric says:

I disagree, I think the BELIEVE mosaic is spot on and if Old Trafford is owt like Barca last year we will be fine. UNITED!

  22. andersonsonson says:

I will be there on Wednesday screaming my lungs out ! Come on United !

  23. Giles Oakley says:

Good call, Scott, and now everyone lucky enough to be there on Wednesday night, let’s hear from you, non stop. The world will be watching so let the world know United have the best supporters and that we are United.

  24. corea says:

i haven’t been to OT too but i am currently working on it )
hope it will be a magic evening on Wednesday. Believe.

  25. Red-Manc says:

If you havent already got a scarf it would be class if you buy one from the stalls outside Old Trafford, they cost like what £3 i cant remember. the more scarfs we can get the better it will look, hold them up/swirl them when we’re singing whatever just make sure you take a scarf!

Same goes for the flags they sell at them stalls. BRING SCARFS AND FLAGS!

  26. unitedgirl15 says:

My best friend is going tomorrow and she’s only 15, i’m so jealous. I’ll tell her to sing her heart out and take her united scarf :) . I haven’t been to a CL game yet but i hope i will one day, i’ll probably borrow her season ticket next year lol :-)

  27. Red-Manc says:

unitedgirl15, nice one the more scarves the better ;)

  28. gotta hate tiny tears says:

ive a new chant in the making

    lumps is gone nuts

  29. Manutd forever says:

Guys all of you you who are lucky enough to go to old trafford for the match just sing your hearts out and make all of the united fans around the world proud . I’ll be doing my part from here in india.

  30. davspurs says:

Well done lads it pains me to say this being a spurs still hurting but it will heal quicker if you put six or seven on arsoles or win over to legs

  31. dave_pistol says:

i’ve just been offered 2 tickets, i’m smug as fuck!

  32. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    much respect for that comment

    and to the 12th man

    you are united

  33. oohaahcantona88 says:

I like the ‘believe’ slogan. But I disagree with it’s use in the Carling Cup Final.

    Against Barca, yes.
Against Chelsea in the final, yes.
    Against Arsenal on WEdnesday, yes.

In a meaningless cup final most fans couldn’t care less whether we won or lost: no! It cheapens the meaning of it.

  34. dirkcee says:

Ill be there and let me tell you. we are gonna make it a hell of an atmosphere just like barca last year ( which was my last champs league game at OT). its gonna be some night. cant wait

  35. thereddevil says:

haha! Some of you guys are goin on about how you cant come and watch it in England and everthin, but what should I say then?!! I LIVE in the bloody Manchester but cant go to watch it! cuz its too bloody expensive and I cant afford it. this guy that I know actually asked me if I wanna go with him. But he put a condition; I’ve gotta pay him 100 quid!!! now how is that for a depression excuse? the prices make me absolutely furious! how is a college student supposed to pay such a huge amount of money to go and watch the team hes supported all his life?! and why should he? to be quite frank I genuinely feel upset and let down sometimes! one day hopefully I’ll be the rich bastard in the VIP box!!! :D

  36. Red-Manc says:

thereddevil, for a game like this versus arsenal the whole ground normally stands because the stewards stop telling us to sit down.

JIB IT MATE! i managed to sneak in ticketless for the city/barcelona games last season. K Stand/Stretford end is the easiest place to jib id try the K Stand if i was you.

  37. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    your gettin ripped mate

i went to a few united eurp matches + some this season and it cost me 99euro thats boat over+ bus + match tickets

if i could id be there tomorrow

but the whole father thing raises his head again:)

  38. wazza says:

Red-Manc: how did u get in without a ticket mate ? was there a secret passage & what about your seat ?

  39. Bob Koh says:

Those who can’t be there at OT, support the team from WHEREVER YOU ARE! For me, I work on Thurs morning in S’pore, so I can’t even watch it on TV, but I’ll be dreaming of a famous win. Let’s take a 3-0 win to the Emirates. Glory, Glory ManUtd, and the reds go marching on.

  40. five says:

Make it an atmosphere wherever you go fellow reds in Bangladesh we’ll have two big screens in a huge field and have about 600 Utd and Arsenal fans crammed in singing our hearts out!.

  41. miele says:

Last Saturday I was at a dull as hell Champions League party here in KL to try and win tickets to the Final in Rome, as consolation for being poor and not getting to join u guys at Old Trafford. I BELIEVE we will beat the Gunners of course.

The lucky draw went to some dude who’s not even a United fan. Bastard!

  42. miele says:

The highlight of the said party was watching the JT Moscow slip over and over on a huge-ass screen. Fun!

  43. Firestarter says:

  44. Firestarter says:

Still sends a shiver down my spine.

  45. Red-Manc says:

Wazza, i didnt have a seat but because everyone was stood up the stewards didnt notice i just sqeezed in between two people they didnt mind fortunatly, ive jibbed in the K Stand and ive jibbed in the Stretford End, stormed the turnstiles on one occasion but they just didnt seem to stop me.

Hood up is a must, go into the concourse at half time bounce around go in the tiolet take off your jacket, then anyone watching you via CCTV will have lost you.

yes i am james bond ;)

  46. Macheda is GOD says:

    Can’t wait!!!
