Ryan Giggs goes to take the freekick early, so takes it from the spot where the ball is. Phil Dowd orders for the freekick to be retaken. Wayne Rooney picks the ball up and overhead throws it back to where the freekick should be taken. Wayne Rooney is given a second yellow card and sent off.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT YOU FUCKING CUNT!
Yes he was frustrated but never in a million years was it worthy of a bloody yellow card. Dowd should be reffing the fucking conference next week based on that decision. I only hope the fact it’s Rooney and not John Terry doesn’t stand in the way of our FA appeal. Although whether anything can be done, given that it was a second yellow and not a straight red, means we’re probably not going to come out of this one very happily.
It’s not about today’s game, that was over in the first half. It’s about the game to come with no Scholes or Rooney. I’d still rather be in our position, we’re still leading the pack and whatever result Liverpool get tomorrow, we’re still top of the league. But holding on to that spot with three players missing through suspension is going to be trickier than it should be.
I have never seen anything like it. Although no doubt Rooney will get ripped to shreds in the media for it. At least the rentboys lost and as it stands, with the same games played as Liverpool, we’re 4 points clear.
FUCK THE FA.

Man Utd News 24/7

What’s happening to our season?
what the fuck is happening. Are refs out to make names for themselves against us????
This is just unacceptable. our boys need to sort this out and quickly or the whole season will turn from a potential 5 to nothing more.
Dowd’s a fat cunt anyway.. but u cant blame him for the way we have performed granted the coverage on pc is not great, we have been nothing short of awful! 3 players sent off in 2 games, ridiculous! 98 and 92 again me thinks!
I fucking said it afer the Inter game defence is very worrying right now!
We were abosultely shocking in this game
another cum ref like mark clatterburg, mike riley. Phil dowd is a new scum. corrupted shit.
and no vidic still
Rhatton– Let em fucking come. Even if they win 5 million to zero tomorrow we’re still in first with a game in hand. So fuck them
FUCK ME!!!
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKK!!!!!
I am sorry but can’t you get a red card (from two yellow ones) rescinded?
Its about time the refereeing decisions started to even out. What you lot should be saying is Well done Fulham you were the better team and deserved to win
To be fair, Rooney’s red was a tad harsh, but not totally unjustified. I felt it there was frustration in the way Rooney threw the ball back. He didnot have to throw it back so hard – and as soon as he did, I feared the worst.
The one defence I can have for Rooney is that had he not already been on a booking, would the referee have booked for throwing the ball back that way? I think not. Which is what makes his red harsh, but the referee still had a right to send him off.
Costas, don’t think so.
WHAT THE FUCKIING HELL WAS THAT????? We’ve just beaten the hell out of them! TWICE! WTF???
fair play to fulham they deserved it but the roonaey sending off was taking the piss, the referee was playing to the fans. Its incidents suh as this which is why i will always be
united > fa/england/bbc
you can get a yellow card rescinded weither its first second or third(god bless some refs)
rent boys are still losing so come on villa
We looked like a conference side based on our 1st half performance …
But i still have full faith in our team.. We will win the league…
Glory Glory Manchester utd!!
The referee isn’t to blame for the poor performance that we just witnessed is it?
The referee wasn’t to blame for the game last weekend either.
It’s United’s players. Scholes was to blame today and maybe we could have got a point given the second half performance but when he was sent off and they scored the penalty it gave us an up hill struggle.
Last weekend it was Vidic who fucked up. Giving Torres a goal, getting sent off, etc.
I think we should look at the players, yes Rooney shouldn’t have been sent off but we should never have been 2 – 0 down in the first place. It’s a joke.
Complacency has settled in. We need to fix this now and quick!
Th league is our to lose, and were doing a fuckin good job of it
Complacency maybe, but what are some players thinking?I didn’t see the game but i understand that it was bad defending first but that he also could have done better?
CHELSEA LOST HAHA
LETS HOPE LIVERPOOL LOSE 2MRW
Park should have buried his tap in from six yards….instead….I’m not even sure what he did or how he fucked it up. That would have made it 1-1 with 20 mins left…. Oh well I guess.
Ronaldo was awful. Just plain awful.
any fucker wants to tell me from this day on that ronaldo is better than rooney
i will punch
From what i have heard from all of you,Ronaldo was awful. The safest bet today was that he would hit the wall with the free kick. And to think how well we played at the same stadium without him up front.
Aren’t you guys always on about decisions evening themselves out over the season? After all the bookings he’s been lucky to avoid for dissent, I don’t think anyone can really complain too hard. It’s that reputation he’s built for himself coming to the fore again.
Deserved to lose anyway. Even when united were in control, there was very little creativity. Schwarzer was awesome.
To be honest Rooney should have known better than to do that. Was it harsh? Yes. Was it justified ? Unfortunately Yes. Was Ronaldo petulant ? Yes, but who wouldn’t after being kicked around the pitch. The 2 bright spots in the game were Park and Fletcher. Times are tough, but lets get behind the boys. Lets keep the faith.
With position we were 2 weeks ago we should’ nt have cared about the results of CSKA London and the dippers. Now we seem to have shot on our own foot. I hope SAF (Infact i am sure he ll) will get things back to normal.
My only concern is now we are without 3 important players due to suspensions. Rooney’s red card can’t be rescinded or can it?? Ok dont get me wrong but John O’shea is fine for a few games. But not week in week out. Wasnt Neville fit today??? And has anyone else seen how below par Rio has been for the past few games :O
We need to show our character. I am sure we will bounce back from this blip!
Glory Glory Manchester United!!
The referee WAS a total wanker. The first half was abject on our part, but the yellow cards handed out for Rooney were a joke considering everything John Pantsil was up to today. When Ronaldo showed the damage from his latest lumping, he risked a second yellow card.
Wait and see – this asshole will be lauded for not getting bullied by the big boys from Manchester. Our guys will endure miles of ink devoted to how our air of entitlement is sickening and our punishments the least we deserved.
Didn’t see what the sending off was Par.The fact is others have gotten preferential treatment as well.Ronaldo and Rooney have kicked out yes,but they have been bullied as well with the refs allowing it.To be honest,i never thought too much of Phil Dowd. The guy is a fuckface and in most games he acts like a clown.
They’re fucking both useless, World Class players my balls, Messi – World Class, Ribery – World Class, Torres – World Class. Rooney is not and I repeat is not a World Class player, he is a very good player, but he cannot be compared to the afore mentioned players.
pantsil is still wondering how he managed to stay on the pitch. Phil Dowd was shockingly bad.
hmm .. fulham did play well in the 1st half even when we had all 11 players on the field.. but for me sir alex shud never have picked scholes .. if his form is nythin to go by since after we beat fulham at old trafford he has not been in good form so he shud never hav started.. wat was more baffling was fletcher on the right and giggs partnering scholes in the middle .. now dont tell me that this midfield would have dominated the game away from home.. am not slagging the players but our tactics were totally wrong.. nyway.. hope this international break will help us get some time off and reflect wats been happening last couple of weeks…
we are still top of the league..
Hey, here a long life united fan from Chile. I’ve never written here, but couldn’t resist after what I saw today. Honestly… what the fuck was Sir Alex thinking about???? After the game against the dippers there was no way he could have left Rooney out of the starting 11, but he did. If there is ONE player I’m sure will give 100% and show no sign of complacency it has to be Rooney, but he leaves him out and puts Berbatov in his place.
Now that was the first mistake, but then, after Scholsy was sent off, he doesn’t do shit about it. After the sending off we never had the ball… I have never seen a team whose most important player in miedfield gets sent off and no changes are made. You can argue that Giggs moved to the centre, but with 10 men Giggs was never the right one for the job and a change had to be maid. Then, why does he have to wait until the second half?????
The it’s a fucking third mistake… we put Roony as a centre forward and start looking good. He was doing everything right and a goal was coming our way. What do we do then??? Push Rooney to the right and Tevez in his place… fucking crazy. After that we didn’t do shit again.
Don’t get me wrong… I love the the man, but I’ve always thought it takes him too long to make the substitutions.
Anyway.. the rent boys have lost 1-0, so that’s fucking good news for us. I’ll be watching the murderers agains Villa tomorrow and it will be like watching the champions league final. There was no nedd of complicating things like we just did for fuck sake…
We should take a long hard look at ourselves including the team and the supporters. Last week I had some sympathy with the players since they had played an unreal amount of games in a very short period of time. But this performance has no excuses as they had one complete week for preparation plus the result last weekend should have more than sufficed to produce a stinging riposte.
Instead what we got was a totally inept performance in the first with the team not only going a goal down but also a player less (Again) which is just too much to be expected to come back from even though we had almost 80 min to claw our way back.
I think that the team really need to get their focus back on and all this talk of Quintuple being a certainty should be immediately banished and a gag should be imposed on all players just to get their gobs shut.
We as supporters should also rein in our expectations and just support the team through thick n thin w/o overreacting either to wins or losses n get the siege mentality going.
This is a crucial part of the season to say the least and if we manage to muck this up it will undoubtedly leave long lasting impact on the minds of the players n supporters in general too esp considering that its looking most likely that Liverpool finally have got a realistic n sustained title challenge going.
@RedatHeart – I must agree. “When troubles come, they come not single spies but in battalions.”
United>Ronaldo. He needs to work for the team or leave.
Fergie should look in the mirror as well. The Scholes-Giggs partnership wouldn’t work 10 years ago. That’s what put us in the backfoot at the start.Anderson should have played again today for 2 reasons:1)He needs to build his confidence.2)He needs games.
Well said RedatHeart
We sucked, but so did the Ref. We deserved to lose, and the ref deserves to be banned.
I would rather it was Ronaldo missing for the next week than Rooney. But thank god for the international break. I couldn’t for the life of me imagine us doing well against a Villa in this kind of form. Don’t get me wrong, but Vida out, O’Shea for RB, Ferdinand playing a shakily and Evra also very very jittery, i can’t imagine we didn’t let a single goal for such a long time this season.
But the extra week before the next game will make all the difference, I’m sure of it. we’l have more pace on the right wing when counter attacking with Rafael back. Hopefully Rio and Evra would have got the rest they need and deserve and get back to top form.
And I want Welbeck playing instead of Ronny, just for one game. maybe Ronaldo can be subbed on at half time, but I really think the lad needs a break. Big time. The relentless pressure of being our “go-to” man in times of emergency is getting to him. Plus monstrous defending is starting to get reaction from him, all signs of great stress. We need a Ronaldo who is fresh and not thinking about the opposition but the ball and the goal. Let’s hope Fergie pulls all the right strings in the next 14-15 days.
Yes, we got some shocking decisions against us today, but fuck it that doesn’t excuse the fact that we were pretty shocking in the first half given we were coming off the back of a bad defeat. We deserved a point for our second half fightback, but it didn’t happen.
Fuck it. Move on. Swallow it like the bitter pill it is and take some of the taunts the dippers will undoubtedly launch seeing as their on a mini roll and seem to think being 3rd is the be all and end all of this season.
Fact is, we were due a dip in form and it’s come now. WE WILL BOUNCE back. Yes, it’s ugly to see a team full of talent frustrated and not scoring but don’t lose the plot and forget who we are. The dippers love to blame the ref and the FA and whoever else they can without excepting they were shite on the day. Lets be men against it and agree we weren’t the best team today and deserved to walk away without the points.
SAF’s face showed a man who is disappointed, but also one who knows that after every fall comes the inevitable rise….and we will RISE. Fucking believe it!
We’re not a team fighting for a title after almost two barren decades, and we’re not a team of rent boys who change managers every season. We’re MANCHESTER UNITED.
Champions of England.
Champions of Europe.
Club Champions of the World.
We’ve fallen today, and it hurts. But look out, because we will Rise tomorrow and take our place among the stars!
didn’t see any of the match, but from what i heard on the radio we were woeful,we really coulda done with a win before the international break. was there any reason we started without rooney and tevez?
It looks like all those victories while playing badly have gone to our teams head. Do they think that they only have to turn up and the games will be won by itself?
Even before Scholes was red carded, it was obvious, that this was going to be another tough afternoon. At least against dippers we dominated for long periods of the game. I do not understand why we are so sloppy. Why we are not doing things in a nice and simple way? For quite a while now, the final ball is bad, or usually wrong option is chosen. No one to provide those killer passes.
I was expecting that the lads will hit the ground running, to prove that what happened last week was just a one off; I was utterly disappointed with the players attitude. The team looked as a ship without a proper captain. This was a match when someone like Roy Keane was badly needed.
Although we cannot blame this defeat on the ref, I think he was very frustrating. Every little decision was going to them. Rooney’s second yellow was laughable.
What now? Instead of strolling to the title, we have now put ourselves under a great pressure. Let’s hope we can prevail.
I think it was in the first five minutes of the game, Fulham broke down the left wing and got to the byline but luckily the pull back went right to Rio who had all day. And what does he do? He decides that there, in our box, kinda under pressure, that that is a good time for a show off, fancy pants, no-look pass. Are you fucking kidding me? He looks to his left slowly, and tries to hit a clever pass back to O’Shea. Instead, it goes straight out for a corner. That right there tells us that all of the talk from the lads this week has been nothing but bullshit. They should have come out and been fucking furious, chomping at the bit the put an inferior opponent to the sword. Instead, we’re doing no look passes in our own box. I can’t understand it, but they believe the hype.
hi everyone.. credit to fulham.. but man utd r panicking! the talks about quintuple is distracting the players! second i would like to mention out something that is happening this season… in almost every game there is a rotation in the squad excluding the back four.. i think its helping but not in every game. I believe that sir alex should stick to a winning squad.. there are only 9 games left and trust me we can’t risk losing anymore points.. back to todays game, we can’t blame scholesy.. everyone takes part in the loss.. with all due respect to fulham,, starting with one striker !! and believing that ronaldo and park will support won’t work everytime.. against inter in the 1st leg was an exception.. honestly guys this is the 1st time in 3 years maybe i see man utd playing mediocre football ! ronaldo should stop arguing the refs even if they’re agaisnt him and play the way he used to do.. one more thing.. o’shea!! fletcher!! never ever be 1st team players.. the minute sir alex steps down the new manager will sell them.. those players never give constant displays nor can create difference.. and the most important thing, sir alex needs an assistant with qualities like querioz used to be,, when ur team is down 2-1 in ur ground, there should be something done before the 70th minute.. at the end, i trust man utd and sir alex..
why are some utd fans already turning against the team, blaming one player after the next, or SAF? not on here so much, but elsewhere, really grinds my gears!!! The same will be singing their praises after we have won all 6…
another thing, why do people say 5? (charity shield, fa cup, carling cup, CL, WCC, Prem = 6!)
To preempt some of the dippers and their “let’s laugh at the champions”, and all the fickle, knee jerk reacting so called Reds…here’s a list of 10 things we need to do after todays game.
Right, lets do it right then…a la dippers after their loss to Boro, or after they drew with West Ham and their own supporteers Boo’d them off the pitch (and this was when they were leaders)…
So, lets all over react shall we. I’ll start.
1) Sack Ferguson. We can’t win the title with him.
2) Sell Ronaldo. He’s shite.
3) Sell Giggs and Scholes. They aren’t winners.
4) Buy Danny Murphy. If only to stop him from scoring against us (and stick the fucker in the reserves)
5) Did I mention sack Ferguson ? (well, we really should. I don’t think he can handle pressure)
6) Hire Rafa. He knows how to win the league.
7) or Mourinho. He knows how to build a great squad and win without the help of a billionare sugar daddy.
9) Relocate to Anfield. They never boo any of their players. Unless your name is Lucas, or you draw 1-1 with West Ham.
10) Pay the FA more money to help us win games (a fav among the dippers this. Apparently, united have bought the refs, yet the dippers have had more wins via red cards then any other team in the league. (citeh, chelsea, united (twice), etc)
@costas I will give you 1 reason he didnt play today- he is useless. Fact is we are still a genuin striker and midfielder short. Berbatov, nani and him are our three major transfer blunders. Could have got palacios, silva and villa + some for that value to be fair. Any way..
Thats a bit harsh RN
Lets face it, we’ve always made i hard for ourselves! its our way. so dont panic just yet lads.
There were just so many frustrations today. I think scholes should start playing in a straight jacket from now on! not cos he’s lost the plot but just to keep his hands away from the ball. How many times is that he’s handballed now? Ah well it was a reaction i suppose, still a great player.
On reflection, I had a bad feeling about todays game, obv would have prefered a draw and if we had finished with 11 players and selected the right team we would have prob got one.
why didn’t tevez play from the start? his work rate and tight skill and control were just what was needed against a ‘up for it’ fulham team and look how he played against them in the cup! Berbatov is a great finsher for when we are playing well but he doesnt get us moving and create chances like tevez and rooney together.
What happened to carrick also? team selection baffled me today. Anyone feel the same?
RN- Taibi, Kleberson, Djemba etc are major blunders. The 3 you mentioned are not.
I bet you were loving berba when he nodded in that last minute winner against bolton, or when nani got the winning goal against spurs 2 seasons ago when we were playing shit.
United only got going in the 2nd half. But u can’t say they were woeful, even in the first half. To have a player sent off in the 10th minute and lose a goal, after all that has happened last week, must have shocked them, it certainly did to me, so I can understand the 1st half performance. Was unlucky not to score in the 2nd half with Park & Ronney’s follow up. Dempsey did not get a card for booting the ball into the stand after being given offside, yet Rooney was carded for throwing the ball back to when it should be. Some ppl claims ref bias with us? Against us would seem more likely. True the throwing action did seem slightly fitful, but it was still very harsh. Lets hope it gets overturned, thou seeing how the FA hates us, I do not hold much hope.
As mentioned, the only consolution is that Chelsea also dropped points, let hope for Villa to do some good.
btw, those trying to defend Scholes, he was lucky not to be carded by the 2nd minute. He has been a legend, but time for new blood.
Last thingy, Ronaldo has our patience wearing really really thin now…
United top of the league United United top of the league!
We were poor today its a bad result no doubt but this is what being a supporter is all about taking the rough with the smooth, disappointed in the way we played and behaved we needed to keep our heads after last week but we didn’t.
Something i noticed throughout the game though,
ronaldo is shite
ronaldo is shite
and ronaldo is shite
MUFC We’ll Never Die!
Went for a meal today, started with fish there was so many it was a Scholes of fish, that was followed by a Fulham, the biggest pudding ive everseen was brought to the table by a fat spanish waiter who said the big pudding is called a Rooney
Haven’t read the previous comments but ferguson got it wrong today, he must hold his hands up. With Ronaldo, Berbatov, Scholes and Giggs through the spine it was a poor choice for this type of game, I said we’d lose when i saw the team sheet and my fears were realised. Critical errors cost us dearly, anybody else spot the change in effectiveness when he moved rooney from the centre to the wing? Poor decisions which could cost us in days to come. Yes he’s a lunatic but Rooney put us back in contention by causing mayhem and having to cover the right wing which he shouldnt have to do cost him the first yellow. Villa get a point mind you and its all good. Ferguson is a genius but i never know why he gets himself into great positions by making the right calls, and then when he gets there panics and makes life hard for himself. Hopefully this is more ’03 than ’98.
It’s a good thing the internationals are fast approaching.Obviously a week with Fergie didn’t do the lads any good.We wanted a response on the pitch and in positive fashion. Not Scholes showing once again that there are times when he loses it and Ronaldo-Rooney proving once again that they are brats. We have often mentioned Quiroz’s absence. After the results of the last 3 months,i started thinking that maybe he wasn’t that missed.I don’t believe however that he would have gone along with Fergie’s central midfield today.
And surely the second goal should not have counted! anyone else see that blatant high foot!
Actually 03 was bad up until March. Then we started a great run, winning all of our games excepr for a draw at Highbury.I don’t understand why we can’t win the league comfortably for a change. The last two years we have also had wobbles but then time was running out on our rivals.
Well I must say, the team looked frustrated, not so much physically but mentally. This might have to do with team selection. @stretford end, I was equally surprised that Rooney didn’t start. It seems that lately Sir Alex Ferguson has been forced to make changes in the line-up as a reaction to not starting the most suitable starting 11. Ya, ya, I know I’m but a mere mortal and having said that, there is still no one on the planet more suitable to guide us than Sir Alex Ferguson.
Seriously i gave the benefit of the doubt to the players last week. Blip, complacency, too many games, mentally physically jaded, needed a wake up call etc etc etc etc. Big week at carrington, full weeks rest. And surely we’d respond like SAF…we always do respond, we always do come back strong etc. Well we had a chance before the international break to lay some ghosts and demons from last week….to subdue and dampen our over excited rivals. Yet what do we do….we go from fuckin bad to worse. I thought it coudnt possibly get worse than last week. Well how wrong was i.
Our season is going tits up and can someone here tell me are yoy really confident about the next game? or any game for that matter?? Because i couldnt see us beating a conference side.
kInG lAw Said,March 21st, 2009 @18:52 United>Ronaldo. He needs to work for the team or leave.

@thegavgfer: Fergie didnt get anything wrong – Scholes lost the game for us today, just like Vidic did last week. It was a horrible first half all over and Scholes’ stupid red card just made it worse – the game wouldve been much different if we had just gone down 1-0 and kept all 11 on the field. Scholes even couldve saved the ball if he had just got his head in the way and pulled his arms down – it was a bad header by the Fulham player.
The ref was having a shocker though – nothing to say about Scholes’ red card and the following penalty obviously, but Rooney’s 2nd yellow was a great example of refs not being in the game at all. If a guy isnt allowed to show A LITTLE frustration in the ending minuttes while being down 2-0 (without hurting anyone, mind you) where are we at then? Absolutely horrible decision to show him off. Also Fulham’s second goal, although they probably would have won the game anyway, was a gift in my opinion – when Evra goes in on the ball on the middle of our own half of the pitch a Fulham player pushes the ball ahead with his foot just in front of Evra’s nose. If thats not a high leg then Im not sure what is. As I said, Fulham probably wouldve won it anyway – but its two major decisions going agianst United in the dying minuttes of the match.
Yes ofcourse 2nd half we came out strong and did our great club some justice. But lets look at some facts.
1. Why is scholsey handballing it? Yes instinct yes reflex. But when will players realise that you’re most probably going to go a goal down, why then fuckin lose a man too. Such an experienced player gets so many rushes of blood. 1-0 down 10 men uphill c you later. 1-0 11 men we would still win.
2. To add insult to injury it was the fucking king dipper pen taker..i love liverpool i hate man utd, my pens v utd at OT were the best moments of my fuckin life murphy.
3. To compound that..schosely now banned, vida banned and yes dowds fuckin glorified cunt…he’s a limelight fuckin seeker….but now wazzas banned too. So what the fuck are we going to do v villa. And no guys villa at home isnt a 3 point banker anymore…i dont think any game is now with us like this.
4. In a week we ve conceded 6 goals..-6 GD. We ve lost 3 men sent off. We ve possibly lost berba to a serious injury, left the ground in a cast, they say its serious…MEANING WE RE FUCKED!!!!!
5. On top of that the dippers have had the best week of their lives, 2 big wins, rafalution staying, owners staying blah blah blah and now this. Yes there is some consolation in the fcat that the russian mob lost. But no can say say the dipeprs wont win tmrw. With their luck and the buzz and high they must be on at the moment seeing us like we are. Then sorry guys tmrw we’ll have a 1 point lead. to think 10 days ago we were potentially 10 clear. Seriously if we dont sort this out…we can forget everything..villa..porto 2 days later. Blimey im already nervous.
Past weekend and week was runied…now 2 more weeks of pain.
How life always comes back at you…dose of reality.
Anyway anybody any news on berba???? hope not more catastrophic news
Suhayl i am not confident because i don’t know which one of our players will get sent off next.I am mad at them because they are stupid sent offs all of them.Personally i am sick and tired of Ferguson playing it Mr Cool and talking about veerything except what really matters.Stop protecting the players and particulary stop protecting Ronaldo. At the moment anyone from this forum can get the famous United 7 jersey and play with more passion than him.
I didn’t see the game. What happened to Berbatov?I thought the change was a tactical one.
True costas..what can you say mate. Seriously like you ive had a horrific sick week…nightmares, cold sweats, flashbacks, nerves, anxiety, physical sickness over lastweeks defeat. Then i thought c’mon today some if not most of that will be put to bed. win + pump our GD. Yet here we are and its last week x 1000 WORSE. DEFENSIVE RECORDS OBLITERATED. FIRST BACK TO BACK DEFEATS SINCE O4/05. FIRST DEFEAT AT CRAVEN FUCKING COTTAGE SINCE 1964.
Seriously what next…we’re in a rut a slump..in dire straits. Like scott im just fearing the next defeat the next game….and that without all our red card martyrs.
And berba any news????????
Please someone give me some good news before i top myself.
Well said john ferry, have faith in ferguson and the league will be ours (again!!)
Come on villa tommorrow, play for the draw and get one (or something postive e.g key injury to a dipper), then no injuries in internationals for our lads then the players will be back itching to beat villa at OT (ferguson will make sure of it! put some bets on with ronaldo!)
look at it this way:
FA cup semi v everton (couldnt be better than that considering other semi)
CL QF v porto (arsenal only obstacle on route to final, better teams in other side of draw)
1st in league (9 games left – 5 at home)
World Club championship – CHAMPIONS
Carling Cup – CHAMPIONS
Who wouldnt have taken this at start of season???
Still no comments from Fergie.Against Villa we could be just with Tevez up front and he will have come back from a trip to Argentina.Maybe the decision to move the Villa game on Sunday wasn’t a bad idea.
berbas leg, left in a cast. From intial reports they said it could be a serious injury. No news though
no costa it wasnt even really on tele
the camera just found him sitting on the grond holdin his ankle then he limped of gave a nod to the bench and was subbed
dont know if hes ok now
dont know if hes gone for weeks
thats all that is known
stretford end you do cheer me up a little bit. But we ve got to stop this red card, silly errors, shambolic defending, lethargic defeat train we seem to have boarded.
Cos 1 or 2 more games of the same shit and its bye bye title
Yes, Costas, except of course if Tevez picks up a knock. When will Rooney learn.
Guys remember that Rio left Craven Cottage also on a cast because if his ankle.Maybe it was a precaution.I think Fergie snubbed Sky again.I found his comments on MUTV.He gave credit to Fulham, said that we were disappointing and was frustrated about Rooney.Nothing on any injuries.
I still haven’t seent the incident but SAF said Rooney just threw the ball back.Let me just say that i hate Dowd. The guy is a fuckface and always looks to make a clown out of himself.Rooney will never learn unfortunately.
I hope the red card can get rescinded. Why we have never appealed for a red card is beyond me.
I think we all know that Ronaldo might be playing shite but Sir Alex will protect him and try and hold on to him no matter what – the reason is simple: he’s young, with oodles of talent and potential, and already a world beater. His attitude might stink, but Sir Alex knows that he would rather have a brilliant young player with a poor attitude (which can be fixed) than a player with a superb attitude and less talent. Yes Ronaldo is infuriating, but we all know that when this season ends, no matter how pissed off we are with him, we’ll be praying for him to be in that number 7 jersey next year; because the longer he’s under Sir Alex the better he’s going to get, in every sense of the word. And SAF knows that as well!
Because there is one rule for us and another rule for everyone else eg Terry, Lampard, Gerrard.
yeah ya prob right suhayl we WERE shit today and last week and its not good enough. but were MANCHESTER UNITED! Fergusons hardly gunna let em muck about like that at the back again. itl be army training, no wags and teacups.
It wouldnt suprise me if he kept players back from internationals next week for extra training.
Also just watched phelans video interview (dunno why I bothered) here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7937081.stm
says berbatov had a good crack on the ankle and left in a boot. Dunno quite what he meant by crack (bit worrying) but will miss bulgarias game (maybe saying its a bad injury so he HAS to miss the internationals??)
Tevez should play till we are playing better anyway as he gives us more energy and creativity. Berbatov is there for when we are playing really well. He’s no cantona thats for sure, hes never gunna be screaming at someone for messing about like Keane/cantona/rio and thats what we need at times like these
Of course rc7.Sir Alex said nothing on the injuries Suhayl.I think that Berba might have a scan and then we will see if there is damage.Same thing that happened with Rio.I don’t expect any news tonight.
@ Costas, yes he threw it back, but the way he threw it back left it to being interpreted as petulance on his part. Judging by the way the ref was calling the game, he should have known better. Also Berva was still able to play the last couple min. of the 1st half. This hopefully means that he is able to put some weight on his foot and things aren’t that serious. Although, he did appear to come down on his ankle and twist his foot at a rather bad angle.
Mahesh i agree with what ronaldop can di
i’ve seen it sicne his first game against bolton
but this bad attitude and ego is fuckin killin this player
id rather rooney got sent off for 2 yellow cards of passion than for ronaldos big bird gig he was doing today with his arms flapping at the ref and linesman
if ronaldo played with rooneys bad attitude united would of cake walked it
its a shame about the result but long story short with the rent boys losing today if villa gets anything from the game tomorroe united could be in th same possition they where last week bar a point with one more game down
Once a Red always a Red, Super super Dan super super Dan super Danny Murphey
Toby You bet i was… They were playing for united. But if i were to buy them in this date : I would pay – 1m for anderson 2m for berbatov and run after the guy who wants to sell me nani. Oh And tosic got droped from the reserves after his showing against city..
Instead of moaning about Rooney’s red card, how about us counting ourselves somewhat fortunate not to have seen Ronaldo sent off? I was listening to the game on Key 103 and my impression was that Ronnie was gobbing off at the ref at every opportunity for most of the match – even after he’d been booked.
Not being given protection from the referee is one thing – but during the game, you use your fucking brain. We’d already lost Scholes due to a moment of utter stupidity (and it’s not the first time he’s been sent off for deliberately handling the ball). Ronnie should have thought about the team, remembered that we were down to 10 men and kept his gob shut.
When will our players learn?
By all accounts it was a shocking performance from us today. Here’s hoping that Villa get something from tomorrow’s game. I’m not holding my breath though, because they’ve been poor of late.
What worries me is our lack of momentum in the run-in.
Where is Fletcherinho?
Can’t believe nobody is mention how utterly shocking Berbatov was. Barely touched the ball. Can anyone remember the last time he played well was? crap against liverpool when he came on, anon against Inter in both legs, crap against newcastle. ooh but no we can’t criticise our 32 million pound signing can we. Lou Macari is right, he is a fucking waste of money
and rooney deserved his red card.
the players that play a lot of matches are always the ones who are criticised. but the likes of berbatov who get two games off every month, are immune?
sell him and buy ibrahimovic
Redatheart: Good post, but I don’t agree with the last bit about liverpool putting in a sustained challenge, they will be back to distinctly average results before too long. That is no reason for these lacklustre performances though. We got away with it today becouse our main rivals dropped a right plumb at white hart lane, I believe if they get a sniff they could put us under serious pressure. Liverpool are still some way away from winning the Premiership for any one of these three reasons. 1. Injury to torres or gerrard is too big a loss for them 2. When it really gets down to the wire they have no experience in that situation and will bottle it 3. They are managed by benites whos ego if they are still in with a chance at the death will not be able to stop himself tinkering with the team or tactics in order to show how clever (or dim) he is.
Good post Colbert.Guys what Phelan means by good crack is a good knock. That’s my interpretation on it.If he meant a literall crack then it is a big blow. This game in a way summed everything that is bad about United this season.Rooney in his best form but playing with his heart instead of his mind,Ronaldo playing like he is doing us a favor,Scholes given the green light even though he is becoming more and more rush in his reactions and once again failure to convert our chances.
ronalboo can fukoff to real.
ARGENTINA ARGENTINA ARGENTINA
One thing all the players include SAF should do now is to attend some hypnosis therapy and meditation. To get their mind back in game – visualize the victories. As they can conquer their mind back, nothing can stop them!!! I believe time is a healer and thank God we have international matches going on where they can detach themselves from the worries on hand now – they’re undergoing psychological battle.
Manchester United is the CHAMPION!!!
sell him and buy imbrahimovic another lazy twat? your an idiot Didsbury.
Berbatov was poor today and has been the past few times he’s played but he has scored important goals Bolton Boro etc and has bagged a fair amount of assists.
Everyone stop crying over it, its not over until its over we’re still 4 points clear. We’ve slipped up in the past 2 games but we’re United we’ll come good.
Gutted. again. Really don’t know what to say, no excuses the players really need to get their fuckin fingers out. 3 sendings off in 7 days, 6 goals against and one scored which was a pen. What the fuck? Awful team selection and why didn’t Scholsey just let the ball go in and fight back with eleven men? Hindsight is a wonderful thing. We should not need to be saying “At least the rentboys got beat” and “hope Villa beat the dippers” as we are still in the driving seat but making it fuckin harder. At least we have 2 weeks before Villa game to sort it out.
You should have heard the cunt Collybore tonight. He was loving it calling us chokers and saying “United have choked again, players diving all over, Ronaldo up to his usual tricks and come on phone in United fans or do you only sing when you are winning”. Fuck off you cunt, how is this man allowed on the radio the dirty bird beating dogging dipper fuck.
Didsbury that’s unfair.Berbatov has played the most games out of all 3 strikers and when we missed Rooney in January and February he stepped up.You mention the LIverpool match. There was no United after Aurelio’s goal.No player gave a crap.
@bob I heard you were sleeping with him? Or was it your ….
I wish there was more leadership on the pitch. Its obvious we have the quality, we rocked them 2nd half. But when this team crumbles instead of focus and effort there is dissent and blame. The team is not used to loosing and this compounds how we play. I keep thinking a stronger leadership voice on pitch would help; RK seemed like he had the respect of the rest of the team (at least before he got all prawn sandwich) but I don’t know who that person is right now.
RG just doesn’t have the steel. RF has the steel but there is something immature about him that doesn’t demand unquestioned respect (might be the ban). GN doesn’t play enough.
That said when we are ahead this doesn’t really matter. But in light of recent losses it makes me wonder and its the only thing I really question SAF on.
mother
mickey phelan…bloody typical…’ a good crack’.
Hope berba’s ok and it s a 2 week thing and not serious.
Blimey bad news is following us at the moment.
but yes like some of lads have said.
WE’LL KEEP THE FAIT WE’LL KEEP BELIEVING
WE’LL KEEP THE RED FLAG FLYING HIGH…COS MAN UTD WILL NEVER DIE
RN to upset to finish, I assume you were going to say wife…. Super Dan got is fuck today and it was,nt with me or my wife…. he fucked your lot Super Danny Murphey
Didsbury – I dont understand why you want Ibrahimovic at united, you say berbatov hardly touched the ball, where was ibra in the 2 games against united?
He cant play against the big teams
Fuck Collymore King Eric. The whole country is celebrating tonight.Mind you,United have been beaten while playing with eleven men only at the Emirates. The other 3 defeats were with a man less. But look at the headlines.”United choke, crumble” and other crap. The rent boys lose 11 vs 11 and the press goes:”Hiddink’s honeymoon over”.If someone listened to this and he didn’t leave here,he would think that Chelsea were 4 points clear with a game less.
I knew it
NOBODY wants to criticise Berbatov because he is brand new etc
There are a fair few players who have played more games than him who have all come under criticism.
do you really think 11 goals is good enough for a 32 million pound striker? When was the last time he justified that he should be starting ahead of Tevez?
Lou Macari is right about him. Berbatov has to show us otherwise
Ibrahimovic is a better player
no he let me finish it for him
If Liverpool loose it wont look as bad as it is. True or false?
I can’t write anymore than that. It has all been said. Shocking!
Bob,seriously leave. This is about United and it has nothing to do with you or you team.If you beat Villa then you can gloat. But Murhy isn’t a Red for 5 years now.And you also have to go there. We will see how your lot does there.
RN was spotted in your shitty gay village with a pink pound in arse
I’m going to the villa match, first match since i was 6. Bit scared now!
Oh and its my birthday tomorrow. so a lovely 16th birthday present from United!
@ Bob may be you didnt notice.. me and rob teamed up.. You ……
prick
Hey guys… calm your skins down… Didn’t get a chance to see the game today, but it sounded like it was one of those days… was working, whilst having Sky Sports News on and Charlie Nicholas, who was watching the game, seemed amazed that United didn’t score second half…
Anyway, just a point on the sendings off… We’ll be missing Vidic, Scholes and Roo for the Villa game, but have able replacements in Evans, Carrick and Tevez… BTW, I too was surprised to see both Roo and Tevez on the bench, given the devastation they caused there a fortnight ago, but never mind… There’s a slight worry about Berba’s injury, but I suspect the club doctors have made the most of it so he doesn’t have to report for international duty? Hopefully, he’ll be back for the Villa game – it’s two weeks away, so should be enough time to recover, presuming it’s not ligament damage or summat… I’m pleased for the international break, and that the next game’s at home… today was a tough game – Fulham played out of their skins and Giggsy reckoned in his interview afterwards that VDS kept Utd in it in the first half… good to see that Giggsy’s showing a bit of class by giving an honest assessment of the game… after all, we’re still four clear and Chelsea have played a game more, so it’s still a good position to be in… I also think that, whilst it’s great to turn title races into a procession (think back to 2000 and 2001 title-winning seasons), it always seems that bit sweeter when its won after a close race… not too close, mind!
Try something a little more grown up RN, its funny waiting to see how long it takes you lot to sink to juvenile drivel
Just saw the sending off.Ridicukous.That fuckface should never ref a match again.I don’t care what went on before,he is clearly sending the ball back.Fergie appeal now!
Takes two tossers to get your childish drivel out, are you the Nevilles
Didsbury. Bad enough to critisize Berbatov, putting up Ibrahmovic as a better player is plain stupid. The whole team was playing bad in the first half, and Berba did not even start the second half.
And against Liverpool, did it not seem like they missed the central figure of Berbatov? I certainly thought so
One thing someone posted, I agree. Rooney was causing havoc when he came on in the 2nd half, but once he was moved out to the right, he disappeared. Not the first time it happened. Conclusion? Please put him where he should be, which is up front
ridiculous i meant. Can’t believe it.The fuckface was clearly putting a show for the Fulham fans.
And one more thing guys.I hear what Macari said.I seem to remember Mr Macari always giving Scholes the benefit of the doubt and trashing Veron back in the day.I am pretty sure that today he had nothing bad to say about Scholes right?
costa…………..id say the appeal is done and dusted
BOB well that was expected. When dustbins are your only food source you are bound to end up with filth in your mouth. Say hello to your mom, saw her running after garbage truck with grocery list in her hand!
Bob: you don’t have to come on here and wait for childish drivel, go straight to one of your own sites and read the FSW’s press interviews and you will get it straight away. So bye bye
That’s what i don’t understand tiny tears?”We respect the laws”,”the sending off is no excuse” and other crap?I am sick and tired of us taking the high road everytime.People said at the Bolton game that Rob Style should never referee again and i agree with them. What about ol Mr Fuckface? At least Styles isn’t constantly behaving like a clown.Oh,and he is in shape.
Come on Gary and Phil are you still here or have you gone home to wash your 3 star jumpers
Fuck off Bob, you haven’t beat Villa yet.
Yeah Bob you outwitted them. Now get the fuck out of here.
Ibrahimovic IS better than berbatov. faster, better finisher, better ball control, better crosser of the ball
He did more at old trafford against us, than berbatov did for us
Berbatov is proving to be a waste of money! I am seeing nothing from him to suggest why we paid 32 million for him
and its funny red-manc that you whip out the stats card when you try to defend berbatov, but then say ‘oh this player didn’t do anything’ when the stats show otherwise
If we went to Inter now and asked for a swap between Ibrahmiovic and Berbatov, they would laugh in our faces
Hey costas are you one of the chuckle brother as well
He’s been in charge of 11 of our games. 5 wins 5 losses 1 draw. What would you expect. Wanker.
Crap ref who ruined the game.
But both red cards were okay – by the book. He shows lack of understanding when it comes to the game of football though.
and costas you can shut up with your ‘oh come on berbatov has played so much’
fucking bullshit! he didn’t play in the carling cup final, he was subbed early against newcastle, he didn’t play against fulham in the cup, rested against liverpool. how much rest does the lazy git need?!!
He is letting everybody down! Spurs will be laughing
First of all Didsbury, you will address me better. And second,i was referring to the whole season. In the last month he hasn’t played a lot but no one said he was tired.I don’t know where you heard that.
Didsbury: Chill out a bit, I thought Berba was a great buy but the jury is out at the minute. Still think he will turn some important games for us but Fergie must learn when to pick and when to leave him out.
Rafa got slagged for Robbie Keane judging by opions of The Great Berbatov I bet most of you now think its ok to make an expensive mistake and sell at the earliest opportunity, but has Mr Ferguson got the balls to admit it like a man
you said he has played more games than anyone as if that was an excuse and anyway players have played more. they dont have the same excuses made for them
saha may have been injury prone but he added more to our attack than berbatov
On a lighter note, where is the FSW’s press officer and font of all footballing wisdom and wit bob the knob gone?
DIDSBURY..JUST COOL IT MAN..BERBAS CLASS…BUT I DO ADMIT WE NEED AND EXPECT BETTER FROM HIM..GIVE HIM SOME TIME.
At this present moment in time we need everyone pulling in the same direction and singing from the same hymn sheet. so stop the peety squabbles…and lets talk about the team as a whole and ho we’re going to get out of this mess we re creating for ourselves.
I said that he has played more games in the season than the other two strikers because i thought you implied that he hasn’t played a lot of games this season.I didn’t understand you meant this month.Look, that’s all we have right now, like him or not.Forlan was no better but we all got behind him.I agree about Saha but his time at United was over.He had the talent, but SAF couldn’t rely on him anymore.Berbatov has been critisized a lot here.Him and O’Shea must be the two most critisized players.
wisdom and wit bob the knob gone, rob the red English not your first language or are you Cornish
Oh! there he is the fuckin voyeur! Or maybe he is a United fan at heart?
Boob You dont get the point do you..No one wants to talk to you. Either you are shameless or you must be really ….
Bob: Whitefield, Manchester. Born and bred. Where were you born and inbred?
Didsbury, Im not to fond of Berbatov either but your just talking out of your arse..again. I stated the important goals Berbatov had scored when was the last time ronaldo scored an important goal? when was the last time he even played well.
I love Tevez i think he’s fucking great and at first i was convinced we should go back to the Tevez-Rooney partnership but what ive come to realise is Tevez doesnt score enough goals either but at least with Tevez you get passion and workrate. The reality is our attacking players are not playing well together or as individuals.
When the whole team is playing well so does Berbatov and he’s shown climpses of being very good he’s got good vision and can hold the ball up well, Ibrahimovic did fuck all against us and he’s a lazy bastard, fair enough if you think we should of signed a different player to Berbatov but when the player you want us to sign is exactly the same style of player but even more fucking lazy and would of cost around the same if not more your just talking utter shite.
thick
Berbatov is a quality player, but when we keep rotating players week in week out how is he meant to play to his full capability.
Rooney,Tevez ronaldo and Berbatov haven’t done enough this season, but because Berbatov doesnt have the same workrate as our other strikers people use him as a scapegoat, and fuck knows why ronaldo gets away with doing nothing all match.
the live streams were almost as fucked up as United played this afternoon so I had to settle for watching the rentboys going down to spurs, judging on the first 40 mins though I have to be fair to fulham and say they deserved the win. Scholes fucked up. Ronaldo was being a wanker – every time I saw him he was sat on his arse holding his hands in the air. Berbatov was lazy and o Shea was crap. We had no shape even before Scholes was sent off and Fulham were all over us. Hopefully Villa can beat the dippers tomorrow and we can beat them next weekend, hopefully. I hope SAF has got something up his sleeve otherwise it´s gonna be impossible to go further in all competitions. This has been another bad weeken for United but its not the end of the world, not yet.
Calm down calm down, I was born in the Town of Everton a district of Liverpool
Red Mac that’s agood point and i said it myself back in December. As big as the squad is,we should have had an established first XI.Right now the front players don’t know how to co operate because they play with different partners every week.
And that’s part of the reason we have one of our worst goal tallies in the last 17 years.
come on you load of scum bag Gallaghers you have been thumped twice in a week I thought you would enjoy baiting dippers, obviously only when you win eh!!
oops getting in front of myself – game against villa in two weeks time…
@ boob They say In everton they hang the traiters by their balls, which tree are your hanging by.
Bob that’s where one of the F.A. cup semi finalists come from isn’t it?
red-manc. the last time ronaldo scored an important goal? against blackburn and against inter in the champions league which killed the game of. And against Inter in both matches, he was very good. much better than Berbatov but then again that wasn’t very hard.
Ronaldo does get criticism but at the same time people know what he can do. Berbatov on the other hand, we have seen nothing of him since he joined the club to suggest he is a world class striker. apart from an important goal, against boro and the odd flick here and there. he has done the bare minimum not to be considered a flop and having been to the match today, its an opinion of a hell of a lot of supporters. He better have a good season next season because if he doesn’t, he will be joining Veron in the white elephants group
Costas, rotation is never good for a team hence the fact rafa has never won the league yet the season he stops rotating he’s finally managed to keep his side in the title race, and like you said no matter how big the squad is we should still stick to a starting 11 thats the same week in week out only changing it if theres injuries/suspensions.
But lets not forget, United top of the league United United top of the league.
lets face it your results have been better than performances all season, but its catching up on you, can Mr Ferguson rotate as good as Rafa lets see….
Fuck off Bob. When have any of this lot on here gone on to a dippers site to bait? You are so very cocky for someone whose team ain’t won the league for best part of twenty years. Lets see what you have to say in May you cunt.
In the meantime fuck off to 606 or redandwhitekop you childish prick.
RN I think you are making that one up….Rob yes they do but can you name them you have a 25% chance of getting it right
All of us (the fans, players, management) have been talking about not being complacent for the last couple of weeks – the one person who really showed complacency today was SAF. Nevermind that the players were shit, the players SAF put on the park today reflected complacency of the highest order. Why, oh why, would you not play your strongest fucking 11 with the international break coming up? Was SAF resting Rooney and Carrick for Fabio Capello?
Well Berbatov has scored 13 goals and i think he had a lot of assists.13 goals in your first season up until April is not a disaster. His price tag is putting weight on his shoulders but if you ask him,he would never consider himself so expensive.Veron was no flop in my eyes. When a player can’t handle the pace of the Premiership that doesn’t men he is a flop.Because apart from the semi final game at Leverkuzen,Veron was one of our best performers in the Ch.League during his time.
Red Manc: spot on with that last post. All this rotation or fucking about with the team is no good. Benitez does it, Ranieri did it at chelski and it does not work.
Bob: No can’t name them but I can remember the name of the team they put out in the last round, can you?
we are constantly told this is the best Utd squad ever. should be easy to rotate with the quality of Nani, Anderson,Tevez and Berbatov
Boob I may be but what is not made up is that you are lonely and your wee wee wont stand up.
Rotation = less opportunities for XI players to establish partnerships between them.Rooney can’t click with Tevez one week and with Berba the next.It can’t happen.
Mahesh ypu are right.Look at Phelan’s comments.”We lost, but that’s ok”.Sometimes i long for the days Roy Keane was at the club.
Nani really SHOULD play against Villa at OT. However frustrating he might be he usually does have some product. He has a number of assists and what 5-6 assists? Even though most were in the League Cup he atleast does contribute in someway. And with Rooney and Berbatov both likely to be out for the Villa game this is as good a chance as ever for Nani to stake a claim for a first team spot
Rob T R.. yes of course it was Liverpool, it hurt but you get over these things and come back stronger thats what this wonderful game is about
Sorry i meant 5-6 goals*
Bob: You should know as well as anybody on here that constant fucking about with team selection does not work. When you put out a settled team you do better so do we. As for the best squad that should mean the best cover for the 1st team.
whats with the mr ferguson??? his a Sir now!!! show this man the respect he deserves fuckin bin dipping tossers!!
Bob’s responses are coming slower now becouse he has entered into a sensible conversation and his brain is ponderous and dimwitted!
I agree with possibly starting Nani against Villa. We need someone who actually offers an attacking threat. Ronnie’s marked out of games these days and Park doesn’t create for opposition defenders those same problems.
It’s time we went for the jugular and went at teams straight from the start. Today, we started off sluggishly and got punished for it. Were it not for Van der Sar we could have conceded 3 or 4 goals in the first half alone.
I think we’re playing far too much into the hands of the opposition. We haven’t learnt the lessons of Inter (2nd leg).
actually his brain couldnt take the load and it shut down.
Guys do you think anyone out of that team is spending as much time as we do right now wondering what’s wrong?Long gone are the days when the players wouldn’t dare go out after a defeat.
Its nearly 9 pm……. he needs to get back to his hostel.
probobly sat there with whisps of smoke coming out of his ears! He had just started to be sensible too. He will be back soon though under a different name pretending he has been a United fan all his life, I really think he is a closet Red
Colbert: Hear Hear!!
I am surprised there weren’t more scousers here tonight. If they win tomorrow, they will come here alright.
I was making a butty was still a bit hungry after the meal the fat spanish waiter served up, As for squad rotation I agree its not great but Rafa is a Tosser when he does it, now Mr Ferguson has started doing it, may mad Rafas rant had a big impact on Mr Ferguson
FUCK!
nothing else to say
Costas: No they don’t. Too much money and fickle to the badge on their chest!
where’s that verminous dipper, Jon ?
Costas you have a problem with banter between football supporters, you are sounding like the editor from Northwest Tonight, maybe you are from Cornwall and can’t take Norther humour and banter
OUCH !
Has anybody noticed the Roanldo’d tackle ?
FUCK! Maybe he will become the sort of british meat player ?
Fuck Murphy!
Red Rob you call us dippers, then you say we have too much money what one is it
Bob
who said you were humorous ? On your way back to your hostel return that nicked laptop you are using back to its rightful owner.
Bob: Fergie’s got previous in the tinkering department too usually just before we got knocked out of the european cup. Speaking of which how do you rate your chaces this year?
Bob you wouldn’t happen to be Jon would you?Just asking.I am not from Cornwall, but i find the banter quite childish.I prefer to talk with supporters of other clucs about tactical issues and other stuff.
Bob, im from Manchester so i can take Northern humour and i like banter with opposition fans but not with bin dipping scousers like yourself.
Corea it should have been Ronaldo instead of Rooney tonight. And the United supporters might have joined the Fulham fans in waving him goodbye. At least for me,my patience is running out with him.
Bob: My reply was to a question asked about our players not you. Keep up you foolish oaf!
Rob all the way mate meet you lot and beat you, shame its in Rome if you go keep an eye out for stabbing Italians.
no costas Im not Jon are you Cornish?
Costas other stuff sounds a bit dodgy
What will they say at his obituary—- In rememberance of bob- a true wanker at heart, who never forgot to play with his tool in thick and thin. Trifle accidents of parents catching him in action didnt waver his resolve. A man totally and wholeheartedly dedicated to jerking off who died with his dick in his hand…
Bob:It would be some final but you wouldn’t win it!!
RN: Very funny! LMFAO
Scousers in “stab city”. Now there’s a recipe for disaster.
Planning on getting English clubs banned for another 5 years?
You make me sick.
Must go know have a nice night, Im going to watch a recorded episode of Shamless on my stolen DVD player, to see real manchester people not plastic pastys like you lot Ta’rar
It’s not dodgy Bob.I am from Greece and i am not used to Northern banter.I didn’t know about dippers, rent boys, tossers and other stuff until i came to ROM.That’s why i prefer the dialogue with civilized fans from the opposition.I am not good at the banter.
Buy Bob.Masterbate once in a while my boy.It helps clear the mind from the cum.
RN: Bob’ thinking up a witty ripost as we speak, he will take his time, consider his options and then burst forth in the style of timmy tourrette
Costas, dont worry mate this ‘bob’ wanker isnt contributing to any Northern banter he’s just being a typical scouse wanker, if your still wondering what a dipper is he is a prime example.
See ya Bob!
costas, hi!
You shouldn’t kill Ronaldo! But, anyway, i perfectly understand your annoyance towards him.
I am romantisist. I’m still hoping he will become ours.
But that tackle was really ungry. I liked it. Scholesy, fuck!
What’s happening with Evra? ( Cmon!
Costas considering you come from a country with a fantastic history of great thinkers how is it you are so stupid, maybe I wanked over your Mother, is she the one with the big fat arse and hairy legs
No Bob that’s your missus.
Good night Rob seee you in Rome
Now that’s yours Bob.You wank over your mother all the time because she is the only one who doesn’t judge how small your penis is.
See you in Rome I hope!
Tara!
No its him!!
Yeah, Costas nothing wrong with your banter. This is the kind of drivel we have to put up with everyday at work, in the pub etc from Scouse and Bitter wankers.
Costas: take a chill pill!
Bob you must be some sexually frustrated scouser, probably 40 years old still living with your mother in your council house and have never met your dad as he’s in jail with micheal shields. I take it you’ve never been to Greece bob i know you scousers are vermin so you’ve probably never been outside of merseyside but in Greece you’d find it hard to find a woman with a ‘fat arse and hairy legs’ thats for sure.
Corea,Ronaldo has startes kicking out and i can’t blame him for that.He gets no protection.I am going by mostly what i hear here.I don’t know if Evra was bad.He is another case of a player we have worked into overdrive in the last few weeks. He could have tried Fabio for a change.
Thanc rc7,i am getting the hang of it!Rob i am ok.Actually i laughed by his response but i couln’t leave it unanswered. How much you wanna bet he is still here wondering what we say about him?
Red Manc, there are some hairy ones in Greece too, lol!Let’s be honest!
Scousers did come to Greece in 07.They are officially the worst tourists/gypsies to have ever come to Athens!
RN: Bob was at least entertaining don’t you think?
Costas: yes in a while he will pop up again!
Shhhhh Costas i went to Greece two weeks ago on holiday and it was a paradise lovely women everywhere, let me pretend it wasnt just the amount of ouzo i consumed
haha
costas,
Fabio. we all hope he will be our future, but is he good enough to replace Evra during the important games ?
But we all should understand that Evra will return to his best. This fucking period is very weird. We do not get any luck at all. Thats a fact DDDD
But He who laughs last, laughs best ))
he is United at heart but like his homosexuality he prefers to keep in in the closet. He was trying to groom you I think!!!
Yeah good laughs.
You think Rob?Just dodged a bullet!Torres is influencing them in more ways than one i think.
@corea Fabio did start against Spurs in the cup and he was a revelation.Maybe we could try him on the right.Poor O’Shea has had the stuffing knocked out of him.He has never played so many games in succession.
@Red Manc My ouzo friend!Yes there are beautiful ones. And the ouzo must have not played tricks on you!But there will always be hairy ones.Gosh,i prefer talking about hairy women, than United!Thanx lads!
Let’s face it we have never hit top gear all season other than in flashes, but it didn’t matter as the defence was solid as a rock. But since Rio came back we have looked shaky. This has spread through the whole team, as soon as possible I would partner Vidic with Evans and give him a break. I know you agree about Ferdinand Costas we talked about it last week. Any other observations out there?
Rob i am concerned about Rio.Have we seen the best of him?I am dreading that he has entered the road with no return that Pally was on when his back problems kicked in.How was Evans today?I think he has had better games with Vida than with Rio.
I know this is obvious but this season was always going to be Ronaldo’s most difficult.
After scoring 42 goals last season teams were always going to target him even more this year. being surrounded by two, three players and being hacked down all the time etc.
But what is so frustrating is his reaction, his petulance. If two or three players are surrounding him then this should mean more space for our flair players to hurt the opposition. I can understand if he loses his temper occasionally but its happening frequently every game. If he wants to be the best player in the world he has to have the right mentality.
Maradonna, Zidane, Van Basten all had it.yes, occasionally they lost their cool but I think all Utd fans would prefer his football to do the talking.
RN: congratulations on winning ‘post of the night’ for your orbituary post I am still laughing out loud even now………….Thanks
It get better guys.Wayne could get suspended or refusing to leave the pitch. What a day!
Suspended for 3 games that it is
Don’t know how Evans was today, not seen the game yet. Rio is far from finished yet, but all through his career he has had these periods where his concentration is lacking. He needs to focus on his game and not things like our next manager etc etc
Can we appeal ? i thought you could only appeal against a straight red.
In Italy,at 30 the defender is at his best. But i remember Sol Campbell also starting to lose his nerve at that age.As far as the concentration is concerned,i don’t think it can be fixed. You are born with it.That’s why he missed the drugs test. But i have lived with his lapses. It will sound weird, but i don’t see him smiling anymore. As if he is working through some pain.
rc7: I’m still not sure Ronnie’s fully commited to United, sad but true.
If it goes to 3 games we should appeal.I don’t know what to think.Footballers these days think they are mature enough to get married and have children at 23,but they can’t leave the pitch when they get sent off? That’s the reason why he might get the 3 game ban. Can’t post the article.
Rob,
you may be right but i don’t think he’s committed to anybody but himself. That should be enough to keep him focused. He wants to be the best player in the world so prove it.
Costas
if Rio can sort out this back problem then he can play for another 5 or 6 years at this level. Your right, Italian defenders don’t peak until their late twenties early thirties.
Costas: That is bad news. I posted on this blog at half time bring him on but Fergie needs to tell him to keep a lid on it a bit. Dissapointed in him for this but he did it against Inter in the first leg. I know he got the ball but it was the kind of challenge you won’t get away in europe. He’s got to cool it a bit.
rc7: yeah! fair point. You may have got it right in your first post saying it was always going to be difficult after last season, only time will tell eh?
Bob: gone but not forgotten.
So far i have only seen it in the Mirror Rob.Lets hope that the FA twats will not want to disrupt him during the England games so they will not take any further action.
Well all I’m going now, pleasure to speak to you all even you Costas! LOL see you soon.
Even me?Lol.Anyway.Take care. And thanx for giving me the updates about Chelsea.Let’s hope from here on we will have happier days.
Hey lads remember to watch Match of the day at 10.40
Cheers Costas Goodnight!
Bob: you pervert!!!!………Voyuer!!!!
If I’d been sure you were watching I would have given you a good slagging off!
Anyway Goodnight all!
Goodnight!
Rob i had better things to do just popped back in to remind you about MOTD, you can slag all you want I can take it and give it all in good humour which is more than can be said for rc7
Bob: fair play see you again.
Great save by Scholes by the way. Looks like MU are determined to throw it away – just like Waynetta!
We are determined to throw it away but Chelsea and you don’t want it.
just watched it on MOTD
i swear to god if i hear one more shitty little teams manager claiming his fucking shit teams a prodigy
this seasons turned to shit
put the ball in the fucking net!
It can be salvaged yet.The Quintuple is still on.It’s just a case of certain players getting their shit together and starting to play like they used to.
The Ref decisions was harsh…. but still..our show wasn’t good enough ..the lads started to focus on the game once Rooney replaced Berba…with wayne being sent off..Will Tevez and Berba do the job next fixture?
I hope the team will recover after this international break…
I’ve just seen the highlights. How we failed to at least score, I don’t know. Superb finish though for Fulham’s second goal.
Scholes sending off was key. Ronaldo was lucky to stay on the field.
Stupid individual errors and indiscipline has cost us both games.
I have yet to see the extensive highlights.Fulham’s performance today has given me hope.Don’t forget that the Scousers will have to go there as well. The question is why this team that was like a well oiled machine for the past 3 months has been making so many errors.Without a doubt, the most ridiculous decision i have seen in a while was the Rooney sending off.The fuckface gave him two yellows instead of a straight red(at this stage of the season they are both the same) so that he couln’t appeal.I hope that the FA close the subject here and now.If they suspend him for 3 games,it will disrupt the England camp.
Good question, don’t think SAF knows the answer.
What’s with dropping the bottom lip fellas? Didn’t Fergie say it’s all about how you respond?
Seems to me your players have responded in just the fashion your manager did – denialism, blame shifting and shitting themselves. That’s leadership in a crisis for you.
Your performance today was absolute dross and lends credence to the suggestion the real Reds fucked you up big time last week. If you collapse from here, it’ll count as a bigger blow up than anything Newcastle ever managed.
I was screaming for Fabio to come on for O’Shea…I know he is a LB but isn’t he right footed?? Surely he can play on the right. And I don’t think Fulham were threatening us at all down the left side in the second half, even if they were Clint Dempsey is terrible and Fabio should be able to handle him. And certainly he could offer more offensively than JOS right??
You’re exactly right Brendan, it will be. But there is plenty of time to turn it around, and Pool don’t exactly have a cake walk to the end of the season. But we’re definitely giving you hope when we should be stepping on your throat
Brendan, keep counting your chickens, eh.
And oh yeah– “Denialism” isn’t a word…
Top of the league, and that’s a fact! Guys remember wer’e still above the Scousers and the Rentboys, so, although we lost today, I’m not worried!
yer keep counting your chickens Brendan because anything with a arsehole insnt safe with people like rc7 about
Bob: the kop best watch out then it has about 10,000 arseholes every other week
didn’t enjoy MOTD much!
Welcome back Bob.
There’s a really good blog going on at the moment at;
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2009/mar/21/manchester-united-sir-alex-ferguson?commentpage=1
Absolutely rife with your brethren having a wank fest.
What chickens do you have to count Bob? I really hope you lot look past Villa tomorrow. We’ll be thrilled with a draw over here
Now watching young frankenstien or as we know him peter beardsley.
What about Laurel and Hardy or should that be Rooney and Ronaldo
Bob: watch MOTD?
The second half you would of thought that Fulham had the ten men, United looked the better team and kept attacking, just couldn’t stick the ball in the net.
No one’s counting anything yet, me least of all.
By rights, the title was as good as yours; it still is. Respond like champions and that’s precisely what you will be.
But that’s the point. This week both your manager and your players resoundingly FAILED to respond as champions do. First you lacked the resolve we showed in coming back from one down, then your manager produced a string of denialist statements about the pasting we gave you, then he produced a lame response to Benitez’s valid point that Ferguson is much better resourced than Benitez is, now your team have delivered a similarly weak response.
Maybe you’ll deliver a championship response soon. But all the indications coming out of Old Trafford this week suggest further FAILURE is more likely than a resolute rallying of the troops. By definition, it’s difficult to respond unless you are honest enough to fully admit to what’s happened.
Liverpool will get another opportunity to respond like champions later today. Maybe we will put on another show that demonstrates how champions should respond to weakness in an opponent. But to be honest, this is the first season I believe Rafa has even had an outsider’s chance of snatching the title, and I’d be more than happy with just a credible challenge. If your mob throw it away it just proves most people’s suspicions that you’ve only won trophies in recent seasons moreso through the failings of others rather than the quality of your own efforts.
So there was no quality in our Double winning efforts last year huh? Talk about denial…
And again…”denialist” isn’t a word
But, even though it pains me, I must agree with your basic point. Yes, all the talk from the United camp this last week was shown to be nothing but bullshit. If I hear one more person associated with United mention the word “quintuple” again I just might cry
Brendan, you sure as hell sound like a chicken counter to me.
the reason rooney got the card because he threw the ball back with such ferocity and it was also near the vicinity of Dowd. only when giggs ran to retrieve the ball, was he close to it and could argue the ball was thrown to giggs in order to hurry up the free kick. if rooney had been more accurate with the throw, or had throw it lighter, he wouldn’t have gotten the card. his temperament is ultimately his own undoing.
@Brendan ” most people’s suspicions that you’ve only won trophies in recent seasons moreso through the failings of others rather than the quality of your own efforts” what a load of BOLLOCKS you on crack you cunt or have you had a crack on the head with something??? yeah thats right weve only won trophy after trophy consistantly because the shit teams have thrown it all away leaving us to just come a long at the end of the season and take all the glory….fucking retard
cmon the VILLA
Winners are grinners when it comes to your Double or any other feat. But the reality is you won those titles and the one the year before because of i) John Terry’s personal weakness; and ii) Chelsea’s ongoing injury problems.
Most of your performances in big games are less than convincing, certainly so when compared to the standards the great United, Chelsea and Arsenal teams of the past decade set in big games. Basically in big games you resort to set pieces and aerial football. Sometimes that alone can be very effective but it doesn’t show the resounding quality of some of those previous champion teams.
PS If the best you guys can muster in response is a grammar debate, that says everything really. For my part I merely observe Wikipedia recognises denialism and denialists as words: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denialism
Brendan
you are becoming tiresome with your spouting of pseudo intellectual claptrap.
Now look up the word “delusion” for your homework;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delusion
Now fuck off to bed. Come back to argue when you have an intelligent comment to make.
Don’t forget to switch the lights off.
Websters dictionary on the other hand does not…
Brendan: “But the reality is you won those titles and the one the year before because of i) John Terry’s personal weakness; and ii) Chelsea’s ongoing injury problems.”
So were we only competing against Chelski then? What about the other teams that were in our wake? How does JT’s personal weakness affect how arsenal finished third, and you lot fourth?
And please, give me a fucking break on lectures from Pool on winning big games in style. You were totally outplayed for 112 minutes out of 120 against Milan, and your “miraculous” comeback was kick started by a patented dive from your captain.
And oh yeah, here is a link from websters, give your words a shot….
http://www.merriam-webster.com/
So ronaldo was awful? What rubbish… Atleast he was gettin his head to the ball… He was the only player who looked like scoring… Would love to see how rooney plays if he is marked with 2-3 players… I’m not sure if he would last for 90 min… He would end up killing one of the marker… Twats… If ronaldo was awful, I would say 99% wingers in the world would die to play as bad as ronaldo any day…
Drew Vader, rc7:
“So were we only competing against Chelski then? What about the other teams that were in our wake? How does JT’s personal weakness affect how arsenal finished third, and you lot fourth?”
Arsenal and Liverpool’s squads weren’t nearly of a sufficient standard to expect them to sustain a challenge in the league to United and Chelsea. Any Liverpool or Arsenal fan who says different is talking out their arse. Arsenal and Liverpool needed basically zero injuries to key players and then some to win the title in recent years.
Now it’s fair to say the fault for allowing that state of affairs to emerge must be attributed to the Arsenal and Liverpool organisations. But the fault more specifically lies in the boardrooms, not the existing manager’s offices (at least in Liverpool’s case). The fault reaaly relates to decisions taken and not taken 5, 10, 15 years ago.
Arsenal finished reasonably close in the end last year thanks to dramatic overachievement and largely excellent luck with injuries. Flamini, Fabregas, Clichy, Sagna, Hleb and Adebayor all played at levels of consistency and quality they will do well to match ever again. And still it wasn’t good enough – as soon as injuries started cropping up in key areas they started folding. In that respect, Arsenal’s 2007-08 was a little bit like Liverpool’s 2005-06 season.
Liverpool were very good for much of last season, but they really struggled in the periods in which Alonso, Agger and Torres were out injured. You could same something very similar about this season, although some of the young players have made a better fist of increasing our depth of squad. The same point about needing almost zero injuries to key players still applies, although to a lesser degree.
As for “denialist”, determining what constitutes a word is ultimately a functional matter, as words are functional things – they are there to help convey ideas. Vocabularies aren’t static, nor are they determined by some supposed authority.
When I term Redface a denialist, I think there is a broad common understanding of what I’m talking about, Wikipedia suggests as much. If you guys don’t get it, I guess that’s your poor luck in life’s genetic lottery.
If you do get what I mean (as I expect), and you nonetheless choose to carp about the fact the fuddy duddies at M-W or other institution don’t choose to formally recognise the word, then as I said earlier, that says everything about your willingness to argue mindlessly rather than debate meaningfully.
Ok, your side wasn’t as deep as United’s or Chelski’s, that doesn’t mean that the title was decided in August and we just had to show up in May to collect the winners medals. We still had to actually go out there and keep clean sheets and put balls in nets etc. So, your original comment of our recent trophies having nothing to do with our quality and our players and our coaches, and all to do with other sides shortcomings, is idiotic. (and thats actually a word, not one I made up to fit the “function” of attempting to appear super intelligent on a football blog…) I guess I would understand your argument if we lucked into one league title after a raft of Chelski injuries, (because they’re the only ones that count right?) but thats not how its happened. Its been two in a row, with a Champions league loss in the Semi’s to the eventual winner, and then a Champions League win coming with them. So, is that ALL due to nothing but luck and injuries? Wouldn’t the luck have run out at some point in that two year span?
And I even agreed with you about all the bullshit that came out of the United camp all week man! I just made the Denialist comment as a joke brotha, so relax. I’m happy to discuss football related matters in civilized matter whenever you like, and I’ll even tolerate how pretentious you are.
“We were out there and we were flying,” Gerrard said. “But you always knew Manchester United were going to come back with their schedule and eventually they did and we’ve slipped up and lost points where we shouldn’t.
“It’s even more frustrating now because you’re saying ‘what if…what if’, but the important thing now is to look forward and to try and win the remaining games and hopefully other teams can do us a few favours.”

another FACTS lover.
It was a stupid decision and im not reading what the press has to say about it
i dont give a shit about the media
Another thing guys.Does anyone understand why Ben Foster hasn’t started any games after the CArling Cuo final?
i really dont know how long it will take fergie to give ronaldo a break. it seems the lad can afford any performance and he will still start the next game… okay, he gets the odd goal but his behaviour on the pitch is absolutely unacceptable. doesnt track back when losing the ball, moaning to the referee, the list goes on… from my point of view, a shame for a red shirt!
i cant understand why we start with a lone striker at fulham. hey its fulham, while we are the champions of england, europe and the world. ronaldo just isnt a striker and its not the position he plays at his best… we have a fit rooney and tevez on the bench, and you could see what an impact they had in the second half.
scholes… my favourite united player, i feel sorry for him, but his red card was stupid, something you dont expect from such an expirienced player. he knows he’ll be off and causing a penalty, why not letting the ball in? so he could still be on the pitch and with 70 mins on the clock, we could have put the things right…
after all i think its still no reason to panick, cause we’re 4 points clear, maybe 7 if we win our game in hand. i still regard chelsea as our main title rivals, as the dippers will certainly NOT will all their games left. they are good for the odd win against the big teams, but they just dont perform against the lower ones…
COME ON YOU REDS!
Such bias.
Drew Vader:
“your original comment of our recent trophies having nothing to do with our quality and our players and our coaches, and all to do with other sides shortcomings, is idiotic.”
If I had said “nothing to do” with your quality, “all to do” with other sides failings, that would be idiotic. But I most decidely never said that.
What I said was, “that you’ve only won trophies in recent seasons moreso through the failings of others rather than the quality of your own efforts.”
That is, I’m asserting others’ failings played a bigger role than your own quality. I most decidedly am not claiming your quality played no role whatsoever.
The question for you is: why are you attributing arguments to me that I never made? If you don’t agree with my claims, fine, but trying to fit me for a stupid argument I never made is rather childish.
It was definitely a yellow card. He didn’t throw it to the free kick spot, it wouldn’t have finished up anywhere near it. He hurled it overhead like a keeper towards where the ref was standing. No question. If it was any other player from another team, Scott, you would have written a huge article on why on earth that player didn’t get booked. Double standards Scott. And you know that’s the truth.
Just a point on these Liverpool fans claiming that the reason Liverpool haven’t got close to winning the league is due to resources or boardroom… I read earlier that someone introduced the word Denialist?
How about looking at your manager? Benitez has tried to deflect blame from his own shortcomings by using resources and boardroom as excuses, but its bollocks.
Ferguson tried to win the game yesterday by taking off O’Shea and throwing on Tevez. Yes, it was a gamble which didn’t come off, but his train of thought was that we may as well lose 2-0 having a go, than lose 1-0 laying down, so to speak.
Benitez would be well advised to heed such positive management, the next time his teams are drawing 0-0, or are behind… the amount of times Robbie Keane was ignored in such circumstances, for example… or the time recently they were 2-0 down to Middlesbrough – who does he take off? Stevie Fucking Gerrard… sums it up for me…
One other point… Brendan – read your earlier post again and please tell me you’re not serious… I’ve copied it here for you:
“Most of your performances in big games are less than convincing, certainly so when compared to the standards the great United, Chelsea and Arsenal teams of the past decade set in big games. Basically in big games you resort to set pieces and aerial football. Sometimes that alone can be very effective but it doesn’t show the resounding quality of some of those previous champion teams… ”
OK, in case you were… Granted, this season United haven’t been good in the games against the other Big Four teams, but last season they beat all three at home convincingly, won at Anfield, and only lost to late goals at the Emirates and Stamford Bridge…
Your next point about “in big games you resort to set pieces and aerial football” I’ve just laughed at… Off the back of the wonderful pass-and-move quality of the goals Liverpool got last week (or am I mistaken?) – this would imply that Liverpool wouldn’t deserve to be champions this season? C’mon…
I can’t believe that a Liverpool fan could at least show a bit of class and acknowledge United’s good football this season – however grudgingly that may be… I speak as someone who has supported United for 30 years and remember the good Liverpool teams of the past…
Brendan that’s how it always happens. It takes another team to fail for another to take over.Newcastle in 96 is a great example. That still doesn’t mean that United that year didn’t play well because they won 14 out of 16 games in the end.Or take the last 2 Arsenal titles. In 02 we were struggling having sold Jaap Stam and it gave them the chance to get into a good position from the start. In 04 we were in control until Rio’s ban kicked in.But despite all of this,i give credit to Arsenal for 2 great campaigns were they played great football.Last year?I have to admit that ARsenal’s collpase did help, but in the end the team with the most consistency won. This year it will be the same.If hopefully we win,it will be because we put a great run together after the trip to JApan. If,god forbid,Liverpool win it will be because they stuck in the race and never gave up.In England the table never lies.
Isn’t this the same moronic blog that made the now thoroughly discredited claim that Fabregas spat at Ballack?
Now you’re back denying that acts of petulance involving throwing the ball would definitely merit a booking.
And he should get a fine for punching the corner flag!
Fabregas did spit. And Rooney threw the ball for the free kick to be taken quickly.Ronaldo should have been sent off.
The idea that Benitez doesn’t gamble is rubbish. The defenders and Mascherano regularly get discarded for attacking players when Liverpool chase a game.
Robbie Keane was often anchored to the bench late in games because he really needs space to prosper. Rafa’s thinking was when teams park ten around the box Ngog’s height is a better option. A fair call I reckon.
On the second point, “deserving to be champions” doesn’t come into it. I think we can agree results matter much more than style, especially in big games. This applies to United’s big game victories this year and in years gone by as much as Liverpool’s win last week.
Liverpool’s first and fourth goals were entirely functional, and while the football creating the second and third was pretty good, the possession for the second nonetheless came from a long goal kick.
United certainly do play good football at times, but the vast majority of it comes against vastly inferior opponents. Against better opponents you tend to play a much simpler, coarser game, based on set pieces and aerial football, at least until you get the lead and can try hit teams on the counter.
To see the truth in this, just reflect on the goals you’ve in big games against us – the Ferdinands, O’Sheas, Silvestres, Browns, etc dominate your goalscorers. Vidic has also proved prominent against other opponents.
Now, there are times when you score your early goals through aerial stuff then improve once your opponent has to chase the game hard – our trip to OT last season was more or less like this, so too Chelsea’s recent visit, Arsenal last year. But when was the last time you really tried to go for a top opponent’s throat with your passing from the off like we did against Real Madrid? It’s been a good while, I’d say. And for that reason I don’t afford this United team the respect I give to the Arsenal sides of the mid 2000s, Chelsea 05, or United 99-03.
Far too often Fergie utilises his Fletchers, O’Sheas, Andersons and Parks in midfield in big games rather than using your players with real quality about them. While those guys are handy players in a squad, it’s not a patch on the way some of your great midfields of recent vintage went about their work.
Brendan don’t you think that we stamped our authority this season at the Emirates and the San Siro? You know what the problem was?The finishing.Let’s be honest.United don’t have a finisher like Torres or a goalscoring midfielder like Gerrard and that’s what has cost us this season. We also went for Chelsea’s throat at the Bridge, but the injury to Van Der Sar forced out team back.If you are talking about last year,i agree.United were cautious in the big games. That’s the Carlos Quieroz effect. But not this season. And have you noticed something weird? We had better results in these games last year.At the same time, you won at the Bridge, but it wasn’t because you stamped your authority was it?
Can’t understand what’s up with us. Ever since the Fulham win in the cup, we have showed total sloppyness and indiscipline – even the 2-0 win over Inter was not that convincing – that performance set the tone for our recent bad defeats.
Costas,
You said…..
“Fabregas did spit.”
.——-
Yes, and the illuminati are ruling the world through a secret queen bee in the artic.
Delusion which is starting to bother on psychological.
Everyone who was involved in the incident said Fabrgas did not spit. If you had any shame (I wont expect honour from a Manc) you’d take back your previous post and do some public self-flagellation.
Again, this happened purely because it was Rooney. The lad shouldn’t have done it and the moment the ball left his hand he knew the same, but a second yellow is so ridiculously harsh. This is a mans game played at a high tempo, shits gonna happen. Alas, we all knew the fucker was gonna whip one out, the sour cherry atop our humble pie. FUCK!
We all joked about complacency a few days ago not really taking it too seriously, but that was a fuckin shocker yesterday, one I find just as hard to take, and NOW, things look a bit different.
Nice one Harry, 1 down, 1 to go! Martin O’Neill best be gettin them boys fired up today, to save our fuckin asses!
I think Villa can do something today and I shall be waiting to hear the scalls booing off there beloved team as we retain our four point lead.
Sounds good dont it!
I LOVE YOU ROONEY, I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!
oh and Fuck off gooner twats, or I’ll spit on ya!
LONDON SCUMS!
If you don’t expect honour from a Manc, what are you doing here? From the video,it looks to me that Fabregas spat at Ballack.Find a more clear video or actually find a quote from anyone outside Arsenal that backs your point before you come here and insult people that you know nothing about.Unless you know me or anyone else here from yesterday, you will talk with more respect.
The Premier League will not do Manchester United any favours as they attempt to defend successfully their Champions League crown.
United have landed a quarter-final date with 66-1 outsiders Porto.
But the Red Devils now face two vital games in just 48 hours as they bid to capture an historic trophy Quintuple.
They entertain Aston Villa in a televised clash on Sunday April 5 and Porto on April 7.
A Premier League spokesman confirmed: “The Villa game will go ahead as planned.”
RIDICULOUS!
Billy i don’t want any favors from O’Neil or anyone else.I watched Phelan’s comments yesterday and i fear that the complacency is within the United coaching stuff. They still haven’t got it.My question is this.Where has our players’ temper gone?Could it be that Quieroz had them more relaxed?Vidic and Scholes have accumulated 5 reds this season, all of them were stupid as hell. And to be honest Ronaldo should have been send off at least twice this season. When this team stops focusing on what it does best,it can get beat by anyone in the Premiership.
Corea we agreed to that and in hindsight it was right. The other option would have been Saturday at 12:45.That would have been 60 hours after the Internationals and you can be certain that Tevez and Anderson wouldn’t have made it for that game.I agree though.UEFA don’t want an all English final again and they definitely don’t want United-Liverpool in Rome.
Brendan – I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on these… I guess the problem is that you watch a lot more Liverpool games than I do and I watch a lot more United games… For example, United have often gone to Highbury / the Emirates in recent years and been the better side, despite the result – that’s not a biased view, that’s from newspaper reports as well… so whilst I agree that the games between Utd and Liverpool have been scrappy, it’s not the case in all the big games…
I should also point out that saying United’s good football is only played against vastly inferior opponents could be testament to how bad United make them look.. I could argue, like a lot of people have, that the Madrid team Liverpool beat was poor – not a patch on their great teams of the past, but Liverpool made them look ordinary that night, so good on them…
And one last point – the great football from the off? I don’t know whether you saw last season’s Champions League final, but, in case you didn’t, that game should have been over after half an hour… Ditto United’s trip to Stamford Bridge earlier this season… took the lead, but then sat back too much for my liking…
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1163823/UEFA-heat-Cesc-spit-Ballack.html
Bayern director of communications Markus Hoerwick says it did not happen, and “If anything of that kind happened I would have been the first to be informed and the first to do something about it.”
Shameless lying manc scum.
Watch that youtube video you airheads, blow it up on a big screen. YOU DONT SEE ANY SPIT!! NONE
‘oh and Fuck off gooner twats, or I’ll spit on ya!
LONDON SCUMS!’
And my comment is under moderation? Ridiculous
Scotty darling, your blog the other day seems to have sucked all the gooners on here. Now we can comment on a debateble decision that has nothing to do with us!
Hasn’t it been coming to Rooney for a very long time? For a 23 year old doesn’t he act like a petulant teenager? At last a Premier ref has the b@ll@cks to send Rooney off, if it was Webby he would have sh!t it as usual. I guess George O’Dowd won’t be reffing Man Utd for quite some time after Old Red Nose contacts the FA – ‘Yes Sir Alex, No Sir Alex’.
Looks to me like you’re running out of form, while the Scallies are starting to motor. Best give those Brummie fools a beating in a few weeks.
Seriously, are you trying to suggest Rooney is blameless??? Talk about blinkered…, The guys been askin for a red card loads this season, about time one ref stopped giving him a free reign to do what ever he wants.
Your season is crumbling before your eyes, as a Gooner, I know how painful that is, after last season…. Good for the nuetral though.
rooney only need to throw the ball 20 yards to the free kick’s original spot but he threw it all the way to van der sar. so its understandable why the ref gave him yellow card.
i have bee saying all season to get rid of RONNIE…..(and Nani too)… AND I’ve been slagged off for it on here too …..BUT yesterday sort of proved my point, CR7′s mind is elsewhere…..Spain I think
And Rooney is just too commited to Man Utd…. knows that ref and all were against us so just pushed a littlre too hard….. will get 3 game ban I expect from them cunts at the FA.
JUST MAKES US EVEN MORE DETERMINED TO FUCK THE LOT OF THEM.
Pete you have a complaint against Webb?I think he sent off Ronaldo this season(our 6th idiotic sending off this year) didn’t he?Dowd yesterday should have sent Ronaldo off,not Wayne.I said it about Rooney yesterday myself Pete.He is 23,he is married and yet he is more immature than 3 year old.I don’t know what we do with him anymore.
@Gerry Gooner:is this your first comment? These are always under moderation.
@Ole Gunner if Hoeness says it,it’s good enough for me.He didn’t spit even though i would like a more conclusive video.Of course it would pain you to admit that Rooney didn’t deserve to get sent off yesterday wouldn’t it?That’s what separates United fans from trash like you.We admit when someone else is right.
Did Rooney take longer than Ronaldo at City did to get off the field?Doesn’t Cahill punch the corner flag whever he scores? What’s this 3 game ban crap coming from?
Bollocks Duncan. I’d never write an article claiming a player should be booked and sent off for being an inaccurate thrower of a football!
I can’t believe you’ve actually written another article about the velocity and direction of rooney’s ball throwing actions from the weekend. Maybe it’s time to switch to commenting on bowls, Scott. Rooney behaviour was a red card waiting to happen, and he was just asking for it after throwing the ball like that. When you’ve been booked and tempers are running high, you need to be careful. The last thing you need to doing is hurling the football overhead towards the ref while your growling and have been shouting at him all day. It’s common bloody sense, which unfortunately rooney seems to lack at times.
Maybe you should be concentrating more on the weekend’s performance (i.e a match report instead of two ball throwing articles) or theinking forward to our future fixtures, or about the worrying threat of the scousers. Instead you just seem to pick out gossip and whinge over pathetic little issues regarding opposing manager/player comments. You call yourself a supporter but you spend most of your time bitching about people unrelated to united. You need to re-think your status, son.
How this site comes to win any kind of shitty award I’ll never know. Addictive reading though, like the Sun or any other sensationalist tabloid crap. But very little credibility or logic.
I really can’t understand why you lot think Rooney was hard done by?!
He deserved to go…
If that was Gerrard at OT last Saturday, in the same situation, you would be howling for him to be sent off…
At least try and have an unbiased view about it…
Si,up until i saw the game i thought the same thing:that he was treated harshly.I saw it last night and i can understand why Dowd(i still think he is incompetent) would leave us with 9 players given how some of them were bitching. The problem is that he sent off the wrong player. It should have been Ronaldo. My God,if i ever have a wife that is in my ear like that all the time i am going to shoot me in the head.Rooney did throw the ball back very carelessly, yes. But that’s like saying that whenever a ball goes out of play and someone kicks it away with greater force they should get a yellow. It’s too harsh, especially for a second yellow.
Mind you,Rooney’s attitude afterwards is disgraceful.I have always said that someone who thinks that he is old and mature enough to get married, should not act like a 5 year old brat on the field.
Duncan – the referee was stood where the freekick was supposed to be retaken. Where did you want Rooney to throw the ball to? Since when has being in a hurry to get on with a match a bookable offence?
Rethink my status? No logic? Where’s the logic in returning to a website you think is so shit? I’ll write how I like about what I like. If you don’t agree, then feel free to start your own site.
Si – like I’ve already said here, there’s no fucking way I’d ask for ANY player to be sent off for lobbing a ball up a pitch. It’s a joke. Even the City fans in the pub yesterday agreed (although they said they’d seen a worse red card in Kevin Horlock’s for “walking aggressively”, apparently).
Costa’s I can agree that Dowd (and a lot of others at times) can have fairly bad games (in terms of strange/wrong decisions) but I think that Rooney kind of made his decision easy for him…
Scott, most players and fans are aware of the FA’s push this season for respecting officials… some referee’s seem not to take action when seemingly harrassed/disrepsected by players, whilst others do…
The problem is with the inconsistency of refereeing.
If more Referees had the balls to make the important correct decisions then I feel that people would be focusing on Rooney’s lack of composure rather than whether the sending off was right/wrong…
Si,to be honest i think that Rooney is a lost cause in that respect. The media(and to some extent our club itself) didn’t think of his lack of composure as an important matter when he was still developing. Now it’s too late.No one can tell someone at 23 to supress his anger. That’s how it will be until he gets tired of his temper. But then again,Roy Keane was 34 and he was still lashing out at times. At least he was doing it for the right reasons at times.Si,i can accept inconsistent refereeing form game to game. Not every referee has the same tolerance. But Phil Dowd being inconstistent in the same game,it’s ridiculous. He has sent off Rooney because he has had his ear ripped off mostly by Ronaldo and other players for the whole game. But why didn’t he discipline Ronaldo when it mattered?Because he would have let us with 9 players when we still had all to play for.Mind you,he should have also send off Pantsil for blatantly stepping on Ronaldo’s heel. But when it’s over he gladly sends off Rooney.Personally,i also felt that Mascerano getting sent off was harsh as well.Respect the referees of course, but the players can’t be robots.
Fair points Costas… I think you’re right about why Ronaldo was not set off – and that kind of highlights the inconsistency of refereeing…
I guess the manager has to take more responsibility for players disciplinary issues… after all, they’re the boss!!
I know that i might get heat for this, but i question whether SAF can keep these players in line on his own.Maybe that’s where Carlos Quieroz,as much as i hated his defensive tactics, came into play.I feel that his absence is also a reason why Nani and Anderson have underperformed this season.About Ronaldo now. When you spent a whole summer pleading on your hands and knees with a player not to leave your club, then you give him the right to feel bigger than the club.Wayne gets into trouble because he was born with a short fuse.Ronaldo’s petulance is a result of the fact that he doesn’t want to play in this club or in this league anymore. No one can change his mind on this.He could ask Michael Owen and Jon Woodgate what kind of a football burial ground Real Madrid are and he would still not change his mind.
Nobody can question Ronaldo’s talent… but I personally feel that Ronaldo is using Utd to feed his ego!!
Real Madrid cannot currently compete with Utd in terms of current/potential success, so I feel that Ronaldo sees his immediate future at a club that can give him world exposure!!
But, in fairness, I guess that Ronaldo is on a hiding to nothing due to not clarifying his position when the whole saga around him started.
I used to believe that Utd would struggle without Ronaldo… now I’m not so sure.
People said that about Ronaldo a lot Si.Especially last year.Of course they forget that it is a team game and the role the others played last year. The back 5 were superb throughout the year,Carrick started becoming a key cog in the engine,HArgreaves had his moments,Anderson and Nani had great breakthrough seasons,Giggs and Park contributed when called upon and Rooney and Tevez were fantastic together.Ronaldo was just at the benefit of all of this good product. But in terms of team effort, and as Giggsy stated,Ronado’s best season was 2 years ago because he was more of a team player then. For a while this season i thought that he was getting there again, but recently it seems as if he and Rooney can’t handle the hard times.Ronaldo is an egomaniac but i don’t think he will play at a club with world exposure in his mind.I think he has 3 reasons for wanting to go to Real:1)He has done it all with us.2)He wants to be closer to home.3)He wants to play at a league that he feels will protect him more as a player. As i said yesterday, right now if him leaving means Tevez can stay i say go for it.
This is complete nonsense. Rooney was angry and lost self-control. It was blatant dissent and an obvious yellow card. He’ll be lucky to escape further punishment.
Si, agree with your comment about CR7 feeding his ego at UTD…. really hope we get 70 million or more for him……
Tom Earnest: fuck you ….Numnuts…. no extra ban….
no thanks to wankers like you…. not like he fucking cheats week in week out like them dipper divers…. difference between Liverpoo and us……
Rooney throughs ball back to speed up freekick- gets sent off….
Villa keeper defending his goal, ladyboy dived over the Villa keeper….result Keeper got sent off…..
Referees report on the incident read that the keeper maliciously smeared the Ladyboys mascarra and broke two of his fingernails when he went over in a triple toe loop with extra twist…..
