After having their first bid rejected and United having their offer accepted, Arsenal put in a second bid to Fulham which was accepted. Arsene Wenger was a big fan of the young Fulham defender and was doing all he could to lure him to Arsenal.
However, Sir Alex Ferguson met the player in London on Tuesday night after Fulham’s defeat to Spurs and that was all that was needed to get the deal sorted. Smalling is an Arsenal fan but chose to join United because we’re ‘the biggest club in the world’.
“My time at Fulham has been great and I have learned a lot about the game from Roy Hodgson and the coaching staff,” said Smalling. “But the chance of coming to the biggest club in the world is something I just couldn’t turn down. I’m excited about working with Sir Alex and the fantastic players in the squad. I’ve played a few times in the Europa League this year, but the thought of making the step up to the Champions League next year is great. I can’t wait.”

What is the quoted price of the deal?
I think it’s around 7 mills
if fergie went to london to meet him the day before a big game, he must think hes a quality player, because to be honest what i have seen of him i havent been that impressed, but if fergie is making that much effort then i shall trust.
Well what else was he going to say?
No thread on Tosic going out on loan?
And when is Hargreaves coming back?
may i be the first to give a chant for this guy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvtRtNt2q1g
Yeah, looks really promising.
Already scored a crucial own goal at Chelsea last month, couldn’t cope with Peter Crouch & Luka Modric in midweek either.
He’s played one game and everyone’s talking about him like he’s the next Rio Ferdinand.
Well, I’ve heard we (Arsenal) offered 12 million pounds and United outbid us by 2 million.
Either way, I’m happy we didn’t waste that much for someone who has played 2 PL games. He may turn out a good player, but a big, big risk when you consider that Fulham play a very deep line which doesn’t require as much intelligence and defensive ability as it does when playing near the halfway line.
Kjaer is miles better and his buy out clause is rumored to be 8 million. Surprised no one has gone for him (unless Palermo aren’t selling or he doesn’t want to leave yet?). Already one of the best defenders in Serie A.
Zapata is a good young defender as well, but would cost more than Kjaer.
Did you watch the game?
By biggest in the world do you mean in terms of debt? You would be right there…
And I do believe this spells the end for one of United’s CBs. I don’t see why they’d spend that much. Vidic is my guess.
Apparently Smalling is renowned for being comfortable on the ball and posessing a good passing ability so I don’t think that’ll be a problem, and I foresee a formidable future partnership with Jonny Evans
Well he is only 20 and it’s probably a case of we had to spend that much to secure him due to the interest from Arsenal. I don’t think these means the end for Vidic but I think theres a strong chance that he could be loaned out again for the first half of next season.
U-N-I.. T-E-D that spells fookin debt for me, with a nick nack paddy wack give a dog a bone, OCEAN FINANCE ON THE PHONE!
Yeh,lets all label him shit even before hes kicked a ball for utd.Fuck me,when did utd fans turn into fickle, moaning twats?
chris
4-3 you bitter blue cunt!!!
Because these are all bitter Gooners pointing out that he’s a terrible signing because only Arsenal are allowed to have promising youngsters
Even though they have Aaron Ramsey and that’s about it
stonroy, these cunts are the biggest club in England. Not in the world though.
Its unfair to Serie A and La liga who have been the dominant leagues with 15-20 year periods of domination. The PL has been the best for maybe 4-5 years!
It’ll be a cracking game this weekend. I expect SAF to flood the midfield. Lets hope Fletcher doesn’t get away with constant fouling. His positioning will be exploited imo, he relies on energy too much. A bit like Flamini was for us, stupid footballer who covered it up with energy.
No offense meant…
Arshavin vs. Rafael? That’ll be very interesting as will Valencia vs. CLichy. Those 2 battles may well decide the victor of the match and if Rooney and Cesc are invisible it won’t be a surprise imo.
Sorry,just realised this prick is probably a bitter,if so,hahahahahahahahaha,if hes a scouser,hahahahahahhahahahha.
chris how about this
U-N-I-T-E-D
we’re all going to wembely
chris; fuck me get over yourself, you bitter prick.
Read abt him here
http://www.skysports.com/football/transfers/scout/
Callum, what?!?!??!?!
Ramsey, Wilshere, Merida are the most promising but we have, what I think, is an exact replica of Smalling.
Goes by the name of Kyle bartley and he’s damn good and similar to Smalling. Those who watch u-18 football probably know him. Maybe he’s in the reserves now, not sure.
We also have a keeper who has gotten 4 MOTM awards in 8-9 games with Brentford. He’s good enough to play for our first team already, but Wenger said he’s too young(19).
Looks better than Akinfeev and Neaur did at that age. Already made his debut for Poland.
erm… maybe we gave him/them more money?… it’s just a standard prepared statement innit?
Mr Pat you have made a poor analysis of Fletcher I think, but hey who really cares!
Pat,If he was good enough hed be playing.
Pat… we can all name 50 young players at our clubs who are going to be stars… but they aren’t, only one or two will make it
Tony, you have your opinion, I have mine. Fair play.
We loved Flamini, but he wasn’t an intelligent footballer. Complemented Cesc superbly though. Song is much better this season.
Energy usually gets the better of these players. What class, intelligent midfielder would make a clatter Arshavin in the box like Fletch did?
I will never know how that wasn’t a pen. That was as obvious as it gets. Not bitter though because we scored on the same play, but still. Awful.
Lets hope for great refereeing, although both United and Arsenal haven’t had the run of luck Chelsea have had imo.
rooneyisclass, not a keeper though!
keepers get into the team at a much later stage than other players. Same goes to CBs, usually.
I’m sure you know Tomaszewski(The man that stopped England). This kid, Szczesny, has the character of that man. He WILL be a great Premier league keeper.
And yes, only 1 or 2 will make it and others will fuck off to scum teams, claiming to be the next Beckham i.e. bentley.
Eagles looks a quality player for Burnley though!
@ chris
red roon
giggs saw you standing alone,
put in a quality ball,
and watch you header it home,
tevez 47 million
adebayor 25 million
toure 15 million
lescott 24 million
robinho 32 million
shay given 7 million
a trip to wemberleee priceless,
remember your players make money our players make history
the clock ticks on
35 years fuck all
Welcome aboard Smalling.
was at the game yesterday, just want to say how hilarious and creative city’s chants were! was 20 seats away, was pmsl when i wasnt bellowing my guts out fr the lads
@Pat: It’s nothing new Arsenal having “Promising Youngsters” everyone has been saying that for what seems like 5 years, come to think of it, it is 5 years! Yet Arsenal for all their plaudits, youngsters and general media brown nosing, you haven’t won anything.
u-n-i-t-e-d united are the team for me
for all you bitters it ends in tears
last night made it 35 YEARS
You cant say he is good enough for the first team now then can you?
How can you say he has the character of Tomaszewski? how well do you know him? And to say he WILL be a premier great smacks of blinkered wishful thinking.
How the fuck did City get Given for 7 million? WHat a buy.
Still, great shot stopper, awful keeper. He NEVER comes out for crosses. Rooney’s goal was preventable with a more aggressive keeper.
alex has a better record than arsene at bringing young players into a winning team than wenger.
although the press generally like to suck wengers big veiny lad, sir alex brings them into ‘winning’ teams more often.
wenger has a great record for bringing on young players. just not as good at the big son’s.
eg. brown, evans, rafael, fletcher, rooney, sholes, giggs and nani just from last nights game.
all those players started from a young age with ferguson and played in last nights game.
the players ferguson brought on from a young age have went on to win a massive number of trophies.
wengers ‘babes’ dont compare.
no surprise that smalling would want to work with the master of helping young players
rooneyisclass, I’m Polish and I’ve heard a lot from people who know his dad.
His dad happened to have the same character as Tomaszewski but played 2nd fiddle to him. His dad was a great keeper as well.
Either way, I’ve seen interviews with him and how he talks. He has that something about him, you know?
His dad has been training him individually in his off time as well.
He played in preseason and was just amazing.
In fact, Serie A clubs wanted to loan him, but Wenger wants him to stay in the English tier so he gets used to the physicality.
Oh yes. Another ‘Man U are the greatest best always and here’s more “proof” ‘ post. Ignore the fact that utd won a bidding war. Maybe someone should’ve given Ramsey the memo re utd=best. Or maybe Sir should’ve thrown more money he doesn’t have at Cardiff to have taken the decision away from him.
@come off it mate.. I hear what you saying but you can’t include Rooney and Nani on your list – they were proven top level players when they signed for us…
Wenger, although I like the guy, gets more credit for doing much much less. I think because people take Alex Ferguson’s overall achievements as manager for granted. They will only truly appreciate this man after he has gone.
Brown? Are you having a laugh?!?!!?
Rafael is one of the most defensively and positionally suspect RBs in the top 10 and he’s pretty much a starter for you! Personally I rate Fabio much higher. My best mate is a Manc cunt so I do watch the youth with him sometimes, before you say something.
Fletcher only has more energy than Song. He’s nowhere near as effective with a yellow card.
Don’t act as if Rooney was spotted as a future talent. The kid had it all at Everton, possibly had more magic back then than he has now! 30 million isn’t exactly spotting youth mate.
Scholes, Giggs yes, but how long ago was that?!?!
Nani isn’t quality mate. 2 good games and you are acting as if he’s your messiah. Just last month everyone wanted him gone ffs!
But there is no denying that Arsenal have some quality young players, but whether they go on to be big shots in the game or not who the hell knows?? But I must admit, you can call me a sorryass United fan if you like and I’m prepared to get slaughtered, but I would take Ramsey over Gibson any day of the week…
que sera sera!
we beat city 4-3!!
and we’re going to wembley!!
que sera sera
Rafael is 19 for fucks sake and he is fucking class mate. Did you watch last night? He dealt with Belamy fairly well, and he had Robinho in his pocket last year at the wastelands when he was all of 18.
Wenger has a large ego and doesn’t want to be proved wrong. Stubborn man but the Arsenal fans who want to sack him are a disgrace.
We are the ONLY club in the top 20 european clubs thats self sustaining.
We’ve had 90 something injuries in 2009, more than any club in Europe.
Vermalen may yet play against United. Our only hard player has not broken a bone. He even tried continuing yesterday!!
PL will never see managers like SAF and AW ever again. One changed policies, everything, made Arsenal a big club(but the trophies are missing, everything else of a “big club” is in place), while the other was a champion.
And Fabio is quality as well, its just a shame he has the best LB in the world ahead of him…
And I see also that you left out Evans from your critique because we can all agree that he is a bad mother also!
And, just to throw one more out there, Tom Cleverly is a f’ing stud and is tearing it up in the Championship
Drew Vader, I liek some United youngsters as well. Never rated Macheda, but Welbeck has something about him and I’d switch him for Theo in a heartbeat.
Ramsey is quality but makes many mistakes(Stoke 2nd goal). He’ll be special though.
I’d switch Gibson for Denilson though. Gibson has a cracking shot and decent offensive play. Denilson offers nothing but useless stats.
I’m sure you didn’t know he was the best interceptor in the league last season, had TWWICE as much as 2nd placed Mascherano.
Denilson doesn’t offer anything for us.
I’ve watched a few clips of Pogba and he looks a tough fecker!
Ah yes, CLeverly and Lansbury are getting all the plaudits at Watford. Lansbury looks a bit like Gerrard in his early days. Not sure about Cleverly, I just know he’s been scoring goals galore. Lansbury was their best player against Chelsea though ;D. Not saying much since they lost by quite a margin.
Evra 2nd best LB in the world. The cunt that plays with the Chavs is playing as well as he was for Arsenal back in the day.
Evans has been United’s best CB this season. Only made 1 mistake all season I think. Maybe 2.
Vidic and Rio(especially) have looked shaky.
See I couldn’t disagree with you more about Danny and Kiko. He might not make it with United but I think Kiko will be a star in football, and Danny, I would love for him to make it but he has a lot of developing to do. Hopefully going out on loan will help him. All I know is that he was awful against Leeds, but he was by far the only one!!
Arsenal never win trophies and that’s a fact! so I won’t argue with goonners, ye guys u got the best team the best youngsters and u re so good dat u don’t need to win trophies!
Smalling signed for citeh?! Sorry, the propaganda is taking its toll.
Rio looked shakey mainly when he was playing with an injury, (highlighted against City and Liverpool), Vidic has been inconsistent, Evans and Brown inconsistent. I would go as far to say our centre back that has performed best so far is… Michael Carrick haha. I rate Rafael and Fabio highly and I think they’ll do very well, it’s unfortunate for Fabio that Evra has started every PL game but it’s a good opportunity for Rafael. Gibson needs to lose a bit of confidence, like against Hull when he shot from miles out when one pass to his left and Rooney would have been 1 on 1. He’s alright so far. Obertan, i’m indifferent towards him. Welbeck dipped in form recently hopefully PNE will be good for him. I hear a lot about Cleverley all the time and seen him a few times as well, a lot of my mates are Watford season ticket holders.
Drew, Welbeck isn’t a winger though and he’s played there most of the time, no?
Pat you know fuck all pal. Your knowledge of Fletcher’s game just outlines that. “stupid footballer”? He will have your soft little boys in his pocket mate.
Agreed, but even if he was playing CB he should, as a professional footballer, be able to control a ball right? and not have it bouncing off him like a brick wall
Decent signing… fell asleep for the Crouch goal the other day though. The Wenger rated him suggests he is good though.
Pat – I do however agree with your comments on Given. Great shot stopper but diabolical on crosses.
I think Smalling was told the Vidic is leaving in the summer. Given that we have had to play Fletch and Carrick in central defence, he’s probably got a better chance of a game at United than Arsenal anyway.
Don’t know anything about the lad but if Sir Alex is that determined to get him he must be quality.
Another nail in the Vida coffin it seems.
I think Smalling is a quality buy for a few reasons.
1. If they’ve spotted natural talent in the boy then it’s good to get him into the system and into training with our coaches as quick as possible. He’s still in his formative years as a defender, if he’s got the power and physical presence to be a great centre half and confidence on the ball then the rest can be trained.
2. Any more established centre half, let alone a world class one, is going to be ridiculously expensive. Not to mention they’ll have known flaws, they’ll have tactical baggage and they’ll still have to be integrated into the system and that’ll take time. Better to buy the raw talent while we have players in hand and make our own.
3. It’s not a buyers market for defenders. There are not enough to go around. Christ look at the state of the top clubs, Notts County renegade Sol Campbell getting games for Arsenal at the top of the league? It’s a mess. The premier league is a defensive catastrophe. Between United’s injury problems and everybody else’s centre backs being either old, shit or both this lad is going to at least double in value within five years.
I don’t want to see him get a game for a good long time though, we hopefully won’t need to play him this season at all.
Doghouse – He doesn’t join us till the start of next season.
@ Doghouse
no chance of seeing him at all, he will be back @ Fulham until July. Good points made before that. I would like to see him gradually brought through even next season as he is still only a young lad.
Is he gonna be a direct replacement for Vidic? I don’t think so.
SAF is just wanting to strengthen his defence.
Chris the bitter blue
He has played 10 games
4 in Europe, which is more than most City players in history.
Do one, Bertie!
He looks thick as shit! Can see the comparisons with Rio!
fulham (and The Arsenal) saw you coming!
been thinking about this for a while now…
there is a hell of a lot more to having a youth policy than spotting talent:
if you think signing a player like rooney and helping them maintain or improve their ability is donkeys work then you are badly mistaken.
world football is full of examples of ‘proven quality’ at age 18 or even younger who turned out to be shit. quaresma, freddy adu, jon obi mikel etc.
just signing someone like rooney and expecting them to be consistent at that age, keeping them fit and injury free, improving their temperament- ROONEY, instilling a winning mentality, and all sorts.
fergie is the master.
add up his titles and look at how many of the players in his teams were coaxed all the way from a young age right through to giggs and scholes age.
back down through the years-
the ‘fergies flegdlings’ with beckham et al; the ‘ronaldo team’; the current side and so on. how many titles have those ‘young’ players fergie has managed won… both with us and other clubs. add it up. just shocking really.
how much have wenger’s young players won in the course of their careers? a lot. but nowhere near fergie’s. no-one can touch him.
smalling is a smart lad… is Maths one of his A Level subjects?
God=Fergie>Cantona>the rest of humanity
I am sick of all these non-United cunts coming on here. Fuck off.
I can’t think of anything worse than to browse Manchester City, Arsenal etc blogs or forums.
I just don’t see the point. If it really is just to wind people up, you’ve really got to look in the mirror and realise a sad, lonely, pathetic fool is looking back at you.
NOW FUCK OFF.
Apparently Smalling is pretty much outstanding at many sports, left school with 3 A levels and Both SAF and Wenger rate him highly enough to have bid the sort of money they have.
But of course some of the dickheads on here know better!
Pat, the odd decent comment but so far off the mark with others. Why are you actually on here?
As for some of the others, ha ha 4-3.
I live quite close to Fulham and know lots of regulars and season ticket holders at Craaven Cottage. They all say what an absolute gem Smalling is, ‘You got a good one there, ‘ they say, without resentment or rancour. I just wishe he was joining us now, not in the summer.
Not sure of how good is him. But 7m is a lot for player this young and not much match played in his career. However, i do think he will be a good signing as he is very tall and quick. Btw, Sir Alex has a aura that when you meet him personally, I’m sure any player will agree any deal. Just like Owen mention when he first sign for us.
D’oh my bad, I meant I don’t want to see him play next season. Presuming we’ve still got our main two and Evans as a backup there’s no reason to send him in outside of the Carling Cup and such like.
Its funny. Arsenal r sitting on cash and we are in debt and still we beat them to signature.
King Eric, Fletcher didn’t have us in his pocket in the first game, I don’t see why he should this weekend. WHat does being a stupid footballer have to do with getting in peoples’ faces?
Flamini shut down Kaka by himself. That doesn’t make Flamini any more intelligent. Players like them leave gaps. Good teams exploit these gaps.
A CDM has the easiest time playing in England because most CDM don’t have the intelligence to play in other leagues.
CDM is the hardest to play in Italy, without a doubt. Flamini looked like the best CDM in the premier league and energy is useless in Italy. They play against much more intelligent players. Fletcher is an average footballer, but energy is a very useful trait in the English game.
Munish, its not that. Arsenal offered 12 million apparently and I was against that. Thats too much for someone who hasn’t played much. United’s bid was 2 million pounds more.
I really expected United to sign someone of Kjaer’s class. He’s absolutely outstanding.
But good, maybe Wenger will spend on him! I can hope.
you made a right decision Smalling! welcome to MUFC
Pat
a fletcher like combative box to box midfielder is exactly what you have lacked after vieira.thats why chelsea steamrolled you this season at the emirates and we outplayed them at the bridge.fletcher may not be the best but he is very effective in what he does and does his job really well. Song is a good player but still has to improve his consistency
Pat
kjaer is a good player but palermo are not willing to sell him.also the serie a is way behing the premier league in terms of quality as recent european campaigns suggest.kjaer also has attracted intrest from ac milan, inter and city have had a bid rejected.his value will go on increasing and will be sold for 15 to 20 million in the end
aig, I don’t disagree.
BUT we beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Bridge and got thumped at home last season.
Song has been our best player along with Verm-Gallas, RVP, and cesc.
We’ve actually had a strong spine this season, but Chelsea was just a bad day I think.
I love Song, he has learned to drive forward now and in many Arsenal fan’s eyes, only Essien could do a better job for us(only looking at premier league players).
Unfortunately, Song’s biggest weakness is lack of pace. He doesn’t have a shot either.
Its amazing how both Song and Fletcher were both considered shit by both sets of fans and both have grown and become fan favorites. Thats football for you.
Shame DIaby won’t play this weekend. I though he was our best player the last time we met, despite the own goal. He dribbled past 3-4 United defenders after that but pulled his shot wide. Very hard to dispossess and adds strength to our midfield.
Almunia
Sagna Gallas Verm/Campbell CLichy
Cesc Song Nasri/Denilson
Rosicky Bendtner Arshavin
is what United should expect to face. I hope nasri plays as Denilson is shite imo. Learning Fat Frank’s trade of scoring deflected goals though!
I expect United to go with a 4-5-1, which will suit us. It may give cesc a hard time, but Rooney is more likely to be isolated that way.
Pat
Vermalen is fit?. I heard his injury wasnt bad but he is still doubtful. Also Bendtner is back?. He is a threat in the air and wins vital headers.
I think SAF will go with a 4-5-1 because thats the way he lines the team up in big games now a days. Rooney looked good in that formation Against CIty on wednesday and outshone drogba at the bridge. However when we played that formation at Old trafford in the 2-1 win over Arsenal in august i thought you guys were by far the better team and Rooney did look isolated for most of the game apart from earning that penalty.
Think the team would be
VDS
Rafael Vidic Evans Evra
Valencia Carrick Fletcher Scholes Nani
Rooney
aig, our possession may frustrate you but United will create chances for sure. Both defenses are vulnerable in my eyes.
Verm was looking shaky against Villa and when Campbell came on we looked much better, but can he play 3 games in 8 days?!?!
Verm could still make United, but is doubtful. Bendtner is back and gave us a different option against Villa when he came on. We instantly started to have more possession in Villa’s half. Last season, when we beat you 2-1 at the Emirates, we were without Ade and RVP, but Bendtner caused United problems. Hoping for the same this weekend.
Ahhhh, seeing that midfield makes me cry we don’t have Diaby. With Fletcher being preoccupied with Cesc, Diaby would dominate the middle with Scholes and Carrick there. He was finally showing why everyone how talented he is this season. Nearly impossible to get the ball of him and he’s improved his defensive game. People in France absolutely love him and they want him to start for France instead of Toulalan or Diarra.
Oh well, United have some injuries as well. I think we’ll miss RVP/Diaby more than United miss Hargo/Rio.
I’m off to bed, live in the States. Nice chatting to those that don’t mind me being here.
@Pat
It was nice talking to you as well. People supporting other clubs who like to discuss football in a sensible way like you and arsene wenger(another arsenal supporter who comes here frequently) are always welcome
Hope its a good game on Sunday.
ALL THE BEST!!!!
Smalling is an Arsenal fan and chose United. Aaron Ramsey is a United fan and chose Arsenal.
@Chris
Blue moon! It’s now been 34 years, You must have shed many tears, And drowned your sorrows in beers!
Blue moon! You simply don’t have a clue, You’ll always be number two, Behind the Old Trafford crew!
So sad that blue supporters have to come here to vent the frustrations for their team being so sh*t. Guess city supporters will alwasy be blue(sad). Oh well, whats another 34 years in the greater scheme of life. lol
a little bit skeptical.. 7 million is a bit too much i think.
Let’s face it, the money (quoted between 7 and 14 million by various posters) is largely irrelevent compared to how he goes on to develop. If it was 14 mil but he goes on to be another Vidic then that’s the bargain of the year. If he was 7 mil but develops to the lofty standards of Titus Bramble then thats 6.5 mil too much. Let’s just wait and see.
@Pat
I believe United have paid £7mill up front raising to £14mill based on certain conditions. From what I have read it seems Arsenal did actually offer more up front but less overall. The deal was pretty much signed though when the Arsenal bid came in as Wenger decided to piss around in the media getting Fulhams back up first. A little strange of Wenger really as he doesn’t usually discuss transfer targets in public unlike FSW who seems to only be able to sign players by unsettling them with constant mentions in every press conference
“Diaby would dominate the centre with Scholes and Carrick there”. Have I read this wrong. Dominate the ginger prince? I very much doubt that. On his current form NOBODY comes close to Paul. However I would be surprised if he manages 3 games in a week. I sincerely hope he does.
I’ve been reading this site for the last month and I can’t believe how many moany bastards post negative comments but claim to support united.
Im all for calling a shit performance shit, but jeeez…..
Look at Nani. the MEDIA turned on him post Ronaldo, it sells papers, but what surprises me is how many people I read on here screaming for his blood. One minute he’s shite but suddenly he’s a “must start” against Arsenal… he was NEVER shit he just wasn’t playing well, theres a difference. Look at Berbatov, I can see him scoring vital goals for us in Europe. I get frustrated at some of his performances too, but he’s obviously not a shit player, and unlike Veron or Forlan, he IS proven in the PL. the last place I’d expect to see knives out for UTD players is a UTD SITE. look at OWEN, he was worth signing JUST for the City goal was he not? even when he comes on for 10 mins you can guarantee he’ll find space at least ONCE. I just don’t understand the negativity towards our players. Regardless if they play poorly Nani and Berbatov are both quality players, so support them more then you fuck em off, cos chances are they’ll make you eat your words.
As for Chris Smalling
- 7 million isn’t too much money. Who was Vidic before we signed him ? Its an investment. plus he’s English and with new rules coming in he’s a great buy. Alec is a genius for bringing in new players to continue the “united way” of playing. Look at Valencia bombing down the right, and Evra bombing up the Left. Fergie has a 99.9% success rate with bringing in new players over the years.
So surely its a tad “premature” to fuck off Young Chris ?
Paul Parker – You are like a breath of fresh air pal. Far too many negative cunt’s on here. The people who bitch and moan after a defeat then you do not see them after a win. Spot on fella.
@Paul Parker. Agree with you mate. But, I do agree with a lot of people about Berba and Nani, to an extent. They are class players, but frustrate the hell out of us with most performances. I reckon Nani has just been playing on the wrong side. I been one of his biggest critics, but the last two matches on the right he has been brilliant. As for Berbatov, there is only so much you can hope for and almost two season down now he has yet to prove he was a good signing. No doubt he is brilliant, but just has not done what he was signed to do…..
oi pat, how come you haven’t won any trophies with these youngsters then
@ King Eric
I guess its because this season has been so “poor” ppl are moaning and going on a bit, but I look at it as another opportunity for Alec to re-make his squad. 3 titles on the trot ? with Ronnie leaving I think we should have expected a few dodgy results/performances this year, and Rooney has been AMAZING to be the exception, players are human after all. But when you look at our entire squad I wouldn’t swap it for ANY other team in the league. Arsenal need a Player like Fletcher or Anderson, and look how many goals Berbatov would score for them ? He’s getting better for us with time and he IS playing with an injury. IMO he’ll have a better season next year, hahaha, well he can’t get any worse can he ???
@Craig B
I agree, Nani def was playing out of position. Its a credit to the lads ability that Alec expected him to play on the left. but I think alternating between him and Valencia is a great option to have. Plus I wanna see Valencia through the middle for us, just to see how he plays. with Nani on the outside those two could cause chaos. and Trust me, Berbatov frustrates the FFFFFUCK outta me too! but its only because he’s such a quality player. IMO he could start for Arsenal on Sunday and score against us because their style of play more suits his. He’s still getting used to how we play, and he’s been injured, and its our first season without Ronaldo and our first with Valencia, so things have changed completely as far as the shape of our midfield and service he receives. next Season will be the “last chance” for him no doubt, but for now im giving him time. Lets see him in the CL…. I think the pace will suit him better. Hell, I think Owen may nick a few more CL goals ! Glad you agree to an extent, cos the negativity of some fans kills me we’re already in one final, we’re 2nd in the league and we’re thru to the knockout stages so except for the FA Cup how much better a position could we be in right now ?
RoM is BREAKING NEWS !!! JOHN TERRYS A WANKER !!!!!
I’ve lost count how much fucked up stuff this guy has done. Seriously , how can you give the England Captaincy to a KNOWN Racist ? Remember when the Captaincy was being discussed Rio was by far in better form, United were Champions of England AND Europe meanwhile Terry was in poor form but the PAPERS and MEDIA all dragged up Rio’s missed drugs test as a reason NOT to give him the England Captaincy… Apart from that what else has Rio done to anybody ? He give loads of money to loads of Charities in the UK and Abroad. He always has. He’s a real Role Model for this Country (when he’s not elbowing people hahaha) But John Terry is Wanker, proper fucking scum, and I look forward to seeing if the MEDIA take the same approach with him as they did with RIO. Even Stevie G wasn’t hung out to dry over his assault like Rio was over a flippin missed test. Can you imagine if this was a UNITED Player fucking his best mates wife ? Even if it was a fringe player it would be front page worldwide news and they’d be calling for his blood. Lets see how CHELSEA are treated on this latest scandal. He can’t CAPTAIN ENGLAND after this. Half the players don’t respect him anyway – surely this HAS TO BE the last straw – he really is a well known cunt. WOW. ok I’ve finished ranting
@Paul Parker
I reckon as well that because Berbatov is quality that we get pissed off. If he was say a forlan, then we would be happy with whatever have gave us. As for playing Vlaencia down the middle, would be interesting, but would be something to look forward to. From seeing Nani’s quality service into the box lately(by f***ing time) it leave me to think that he has found his position and Valencia might just make it happen in the middle. I am hoping that Berbatov finds his form cause then he would be awsome to watch. But, unlike you, I reckon two seasons is enough at this level to show what can be expected from you. But, here is hoping he brings it together.
And as for the negative fans! Here in South Africa people are getting edgy as well. United fans are wanting more, but not realising this season is a rebuilding phase. And too all those who slag off the team, we in a final, a few points off the top, and got a cracker CL fixture coming up. Its not all sunshine, but its not one of those seasons for anyone where a team is outright favourite. Cheer up!
