Sound Familiar? Vidic To Do A Ronaldo?

We’ve all heard the rumours that Nemanja Vidic fancied a move to Barcelona last summer, but in an interview with one of our fanzines, Red News, the defender has given out a very confusing message.

Remember when Cristiano Ronaldo used to get asked if he was staying and he could never really make up his mind? You knew he was off in the summer, but it was always ‘Only God knows the future’ and ‘I am very happy at Manchester United’.

Sadly, we’ve got the same mixed messages from Vidic, with him talking about the uncertainty of his future in one year, to claiming at the least he will see out the two and a half years on his contract.

“You never know what is going to happen,” Vidic said. “I can’t say what is going to happen in one year, two years’ time. At the moment, I’m happy and I’m here. [Let’s] see what the club is going to say, what is going to be. I want to play well here and for the fans and everyone to be happy with me. To see that I give the right effort, give my best, give 100 per cent. That is important to me. What is going to happen in the future, no one knows. I definitely have 2½ years [left on my] contract here and I will stay here.”

Vida will probably play today. Give the guy some respect.

Brilliant defender, but if he does harbour ideas of a move, fuck it. We don’t keep players against their will.

Fergie doesn’t waste time appeasing personalities. It isn’t anything personal against Nemanja. It applies to anybody in the side.

King Eric Said,November 25th, 2009 @12:28 For fuck sake. They are lucky to be playing for this great club. If they want to go, fuck them, let them go. Getting sick to death of this shit.

    Couldn’t agree more. Spot on.

Vidic has 2 years left on his contract at the end of this season. At the end of the following season he could be looking to leave on a Bosman. Fergie won’t allow that. If Fergie can find another solid CB, either in the PL or else in Europe, then Vidic will go after July 2010. The speculated fee of £30m seems excessive but if Barca and RM can be involved in bidding then that figure might be achieved. But frankly I can’t see Fergie being messed around as he was with CR. He’ll sign another top class prospect and Vidic will be on his way.

I just dont understand those players. Why go to big club when you are at the biggest club in the world???
Players just dont appreciate the chance to be in our club, or any other big club…
I also think that letting Pique was mistake. But on the other side, Vidic was also young and in the pair with Rio was great last season. Pique WANTED to get back to Barcelona, so he wouldnt stay that long like Vidic. The only thing is that we could sell him for much more. In that time, Vidic-Rio played already good, so SAF should sell someone, and that was Piq…

Deja Vu. But let’s remember, Vidic is no Ronaldo. It’d be a shame if there was double meaning behind these comments, he’s a vital player of our team, the rock of our defence when in top form. There’s been constant rumours linking him to spain, but I hope he’ll stay for another 3 years till we get the best out of him, even if he stays against his will. I have always thought he’ll see out his career with us. I guess we shouldn’t forget that the Giggs Nevilles and Scholes are a not a dying breed, but rather an extinct breed.

I dont mind if he wants to go, but on the other side, SAY IT HONESTLY! DONT SELL ME THAT CRAP! SAY WHY YOU WANNA GO, WHY YOU LIEING US?

  8. Ivo says:

“lets see what the club is going to say” I think he would be happy to stay as long as he signs the right deal. If he leaves then we move on like we always have.

  9. MUFC says:

Let him go to a ‘bigger’ club. We still have O’Shea

I am so glad that none of you people have anything to do with the day to day running of this club. One day he is the greatest defender on earth and the next you want him out the door. Personally I could care less what he says in public (usually you only get 1/4 of the story) as long as he gives 100% on the pitch. I don’t think you could find a bigger group of fickle fair-weather fans then you lot and that includes you Scott because there was only one reaction you were looking for with this “news story”.
