  1. AlphaRS says:

    Are these pass completion statistics?

  2. hesselbom says:

I’ll hazard a guess this is about successful passes?

Who was 1st in 09/10 and 11/12 season? A defender?

  3. says:

This Carrick sounds like a good player, we should sign him!

  4. AlphaRS says:

Michael Carrick sounds like a decent player? Fergie sign him up…!
Carrick is excellent at providing a link between the defence and midfield.
It’s just a shame we haven’t really had anyone capable of providing a link between midfield and attack other than Rooney. Hopefully this season we will see a change :D

  5. hesselbom says:

We’ve had a link between defence and midfield. Now with Kagawa we have a link between midfield and attack.

Now all we need is a midfield. ;)

  6. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Their are all shit …sign Delap,Karl Henry and Joey Barton and our midfield will have 3 keano’s.

Ronald Zubar is the next Gary Nev…get him too !

  7. goatinaunitedshirt says:

Not to be a Rooney hater, but Im not all that fond of him.
Where is he on the stats? 200 000 – 250 000 pound a week, darling of the press and all hairless United fans. How come he isnt even within 10% of the top man? Ive said for along time that Rooney is our Stevie G now Im starting to wonder if he is even worth that crown.
But no doubt I’ll get ABU reactions and get told Rooney is the best thing since sliced bread, how would we know, he ate it all.

  8. Costas says:

Scholesy pass me the salt would you. :P

  9. utd_fc says:

am i missing something here? When Scholesy was 2nd in the two years who was first? and what were the winning statistics?

  10. james21 says:

    I’m hairless then.

  11. Dazbomber says:

    I carn’t pass a pub

  12. slim says:

Hmmm stats, costas gonna pop round any minute. I have me a slice of his analysis.
Worrying fact however, why don’t we see more final passes from the ginger prince, heck any of our midfielders. I honestly think its a important part of the game we’re missing in and for some reason, hell bent on avoiding it.

  13. AlphaRS says:

I have to agree with that one mate :D
I didn’t quite want to be as blatant as that though as it may upset some on here to state we have no midfield…! Ha.
It was interesting that SAF mentioned the midfield enforcer type player is no longer needed in the modern game though.

  14. james21 says:

Just because you don’t like Rooney doesn’t mean to say all of us share your sentiments.

But no doubt I’ll get ABU reactions and get told Rooney is the best thing since sliced bread, how would we know, he ate it all.

So now if I disagree I’m not only hairless I’m an ABU?

Personally for my 2 peneth. I think he’s a great player and a joy to watch. End of really.

  15. Daniel says:

    De Gea

    Rafael Vidic Ferdinand Evra

    Carrick Cleverly

    Valencia Kagawa Nani

    sorry Scholesey lad.

  16. Zibbie says:

Anyone who starts a statement , with Not to be. Is what they say they are not. I do not meat to, yes you do.

  17. Kings says:

    Unrivalled. Ginger Prince.

  18. Zibbie says:

    Feltches!!!! GOAT= Feltch

  19. FletchTHEMAN says:

Goat, Do we really know that WR10 is on £250K/week. I imagine it is up there with add ons. But I was under the impression that the actual wage was in the £180-220ish range.

Do we have a solid source on this?

  20. utd_fc says:

I’m honestly getting a little sick of all this Rooney bashing that’s started going on all of a sudden. Just because the man makes a 200+ salary all of a sudden he’s being criticized for every fucking thing he does.

Hey GOAT, guess what? Rooney isn’t a midfielder. To include him on this list would be stupid. He’s a striker who drops deep to link up play because we hadn’t the type of player to do that. When we did he was one of our biggest goal threats and remains one of our most creative player.

I’l admit i havent been on this long too long a time but when i started being more active on it there was less cynicism and more support for our boys. Sad to say that really isn’t the case much more here.

  21. samuel - united WE stand says:

Carrick can fucking pass, it’s as simple as that. He’s the most efficient midfielder at united. Constantly re-circulating the ball is important in football, carrick can do this. We just need the dynamic and creative midfielders ahead of him to step up. Need anderson to play enough games, be consistent because the talent is there, needs to avoid injuries. Cleverly needs to step up, kagawa is clearly a class act, he’ll blend in and immerse his quality. i’ve banged on about petrucci, i honestly believe his potential warrants opportunities in the first team. Same with the tunni who will bring energy and power into that midfield. Add lingard and cole, We’re building a great team here. I know people desperately want a midfielder signed but if these players step up, the midfield conundrum will disappear.

Regarding scholes, well what’s more to be said?. He’s an utter technician with the ball, incredibly intelligent footballer but we need to ease him out of the team, the younger players i’ve mentioned will do that.

  22. slim says:

My thoughts exactly. Said as much in a thread on here. STR been on form and being plastered doesn’t help.
Anyway what I’m trying to figure out is how we can get proper game time for these lads without going 3 in the middle. Personally is love to see Carrick,scholes/ando,tom c/petrucci. Solid platform for the young cast in there to grow. Add the largely unknown nick Powell-fingers crossed, he comes good, and we do have a solid- ish center. Wouldnt dismiss a signing though. Who’s to say petrucci gonna play or ando stays fit too many ifs and maybes if you ask me. Here’s hoping for the best

  23. james21 says:

Me too and Zibster agrees. :D

You’re spot on. It has fuck all to do with what he earns, he’s scored 35 goals in 44 aps, isn’t that what he’s paid to do? RVP scored 2 more goals but took 4 more games to do it.

  24. samuel - united WE stand says:

Rooney as a footballer has more often than not stepped up for united. He has re-invented his game, he’s a more consistent goal scorer these days than the creative force for others he previously was.

He fucked up big time by questioning the club, we as fans can be accused of naivety for assuming he’s like a scholes, a player that is only interested in football but of course, money is a big thing these days. We all know, well i certainly know what to expect from Rooney. He’s here like any player and should be lambasted when he doesn’t perform like any other player. He has discarded any chances of being the legend his ability would have given him but for sure, with being amongst the top four goal scorers of united, he has carved his name into united’s history

  25. Costas says:

According to the Mirror, we’ve made a deal about Moura. All that remains is his personal terms.

  26. samuel - united WE stand says:

Slim – People want guarantees and guarantees don’t happen in football nor in life. There’s absolutely no guarantees that bringing new ‘enforcers’ will solve the issue, same with youngsters. no one knows what will happen but i’m willing to take a risk with these youngsters. I see their talent, i see confidence, i see belief in them. They don’t look frightened to take over the mantle. It’s time we look give these players chances rather than looking for quick fixes. I’m positive and optimistic. The coaches have worked damn hard on these players.

Like you say, let’s hope for the best. fortune has to be with these players.

  27. james21 says:

    The Mirror? :D

Lets hope he’s as good a prospect as they say. Rome wasn’t built in a day so time will tell.
I’ll wait till the club announce it rather than believe anything written in the Mirror.

  28. Andooo says:

The thing is with Rooney is HE demanded the obscene salary and now he has to produce to the level others who get paid similar salaries do. Unfortunately for us he only does this once a season for a run of about 5-6 games and all the others he just blows hot and cold. Maybe scoring goals (generally tap ins) but screwing up a lot of good play going for long balls or fancy flicks that he just isn’t good enough to do consistently. He is not and never will be world class yet he is paid near enough the same wage as Messi and Ronaldo who by the time thy retire will be in the top 10 greats of all time. Rooney won’t even be remembered by 2020 unless they re compiling a list of top ten most overrated players of all time list.

Don’t ask for a silly salary if you can’t produce and expect us not to criticise.

Don’t label me as a negative fan as I’m not only when it comes to this greedy bald scouse cunt and american owners.

  29. DreadedRed says:

Andooo – you lost me mate. Are you saying that when it comes to Rooney you are a negative fan, but we mustn’t label you as one?

  30. samuel - united WE stand says:

James21 – what are the chances of the mirror claiming moura has been captured by a vulture and the deal won’t go through? bullshit until anything is completely confirmed.

  31. Costas says:

It’s all we have at the moment mate. Seems weird considering the figures that Sao Paulo rejected last week, but the Mirror may be onto something for once.

  32. Andooo says:

That is correct ha. All others players in the squad I will happily cheer on just not Rooney, don’t like him nor rate him.

  33. samuel - united WE stand says:

If tap ins were easy then all strikers would score 100 goals a season. Rooney may be a cunt but his ability is unquestionable for me.

  34. WillieRedNut says:

I’m sure Rooney’s losing sleep at night, because you don’t like him, or rate him.

  35. Dan-young says:

I swear rooney is on closer to 140k a week .. Was it not proven in our annual accounts?

Costas, i REALLY hope we get this moura deal done soon. The guys a machine and i was surprised to see him tracking back to help rafael defend, unlike the theatric apparently more superior neymar (utter prick). I saw an article on saying how we risk being priced out of the move by inter milan on personal terms, a player that is currently on 10k a week .. Never laughed so much before in my life! .. This is the same website whos cheif correspondent genuinely published an article saying RVP wasnt a priority for united (according to his personal insiders at united) even though were likely to lose our most experienced striker, but city would be his best choice to sit on the bench .. 3 hours later SAF pissed all over the article though by announcing our interest in him

  36. james21 says:

It all comes down to what he earns, weather it be 250.000 or 180,000. All footballers are over paid weather on 10 grand a week or 250,000.
We’re watching a different player, the Rooney I watch is a fantastic footballer who works his socks off and scores the goals weather they are tap ins headers or penalties it makes no difference. Goals win games.

Don’t label me as a negative fan as I’m not only when it comes to this greedy bald scouse cunt and american owners

But no doubt I’ll get ABU reactions and get told Rooney is the best thing since sliced bread, how would we know, he ate it all

What is it fucking paranoid night.

  37. james21 says:

    Just kidding.

All I see is London newspapers sprouting London shit, 24/7 :D

  38. JC says:

James – Rooney isn’t just the best thing since sliced bread he IS sliced bread… er i dunno what I mean but you’re such a negative nelly :D

  39. Brigadier19 says:

Scholes arse rapes them all. That issa all

  40. Zibbie says:

Androo just simle as, fuck you mate, from an American Rooney lov’en fool. You tool, just saying!

  41. utd_fc says:

    you got my vote mate.

also, i posted this earlier. No one else had too many questions about the blog so i’m guessing im the retard here lol, but anyways: Scholes stats are given but the years it says 2nd highest in the league, who was 1st/above scholesy??

  42. redseattle23 says:

Can we ever get a source? I feel citing a sources is incredibly hard for Scott to do. Bloggers do it constantly – in fact, I’d say it’s poor form not to.

  43. DreadedRed says:

redseattle23 – do bloggers really do it constantly?

Can you link the source for that ‘fact’, or did you just suck it out of thin air?
