I think u forgot Chelski bought Bosingwa too this season. He is 23, right? seems like a good buy judging from the UEROs but he got injured for their first pre-season game. Just wanted to mention that, since u only said they only bought an ageing Deco.

I feel it is important to note that Scolari has never coached in Europe at the club level!!!! That’s a huge factor to me, I am excited to see how he deals with the Premier League hot seat.

Good article though, I think it’s also important to note that Lampard gets half his goals off deflections and the efforts of his teammates.

IF UTD can secure Berbatov (or, better yet, Benzema !) and keep a fully-motivated Cristiano Ronaldo at last-year’s performance level, then the odds would seem to favour our lot. This would tilt more heavily in our favour IF Drogba is traded for Robinho, which seems not unlikely.

It seems pretty clear to me that UTD’s path to back-to-back-to-back EPL titles AND back-to-back CL titles looks like a good bet. Of course, injuries can derail any amount of optimism as we learned two years ago when ACMilan got a get-out-of-jail free card in the return leg because RIo and Neville and Evra were missing and Vidic was playing on a wing-and-a-prayer. Barring misfortune of that magnitude, SAF’s squad is deep and might even be better this year – a very, very scary thought for the RentBoyz and the Gooners !
