Marcin Bulka, who was teammates with Angel Di Maria at PSG, has revealed how deep the Argentinian’s dislike of Manchester United goes in an interview with Foot Truck.

Di Maria hates Manchester United. He has no good memory of the time he spent there. In fact, when something related to Manchester United appears on television, he changes the channel quickly.

Di Maria spent just one season at United, joining the club after he couldn’t get the move to PSG like he wanted, and spent half the season sulking. After falling out with Louis van Gaal and not being happy with the position he was playing in, he more or less gave up and refused to return to the club for pre-season training in the summer. United then sold him to PSG.

We were reunited with him last season though when we played the French side in the Champions League. After losing the first leg at home, with the biggest cheer of the night going to Ashley Young for barging Di Maria in to the advertising boards, United came back to win 3-1 in Paris and knock PSG out. The victory was made all the sweeter for seeing Di Maria’s devastation at the final whistle, with United becoming the first team in European Cup history to win the second leg away after losing the first by two goals.

We were glad to see the back of him and can be grateful that, unlike him, we don’t have any tattoos to remind us of his time here. Good riddance!
