A gentleman with an outlook on the game that is sorely missing these days; among players and fans alike.

  2. keano99 says:

Well said Jig i could do with taking that advice myself sometimes.

  3. Blotto says:

Sadly far to Altruistic for modern times, its been superseded by Gordon Gekko’s “Greed is Good” idiom. which is being practiced by Tevez’s agent Kookookachubian? but he’s not the only one.

  4. RedAlert260599 says:

Does this mean I can’t take the p1ss out of the scousers?

  5. keanesmagichat says:

i have to disagree with the great man here…. winning is everything.. simple as that in my opinion.. the rest of the quote is spot on mind…

    Is the irony intended?

    slow news day or what……
wish we had some new stories to keep me entertained.

  10. suhayl says:

Dont get carried away lads…..its not all over. Still a job to do.

Yesterday proves…nothings a gimme…teams will not lie down and gift us these points. They dont want to look like mugs whilst we celebrate a trophy.

Yesterday proved how difficult and hard the premier league is…unlike barca and inter who can go to their shitbag teams in their league and woop getafe bilbao, siena and genoa by 60-0. And people say wow barca have scored 9 million goals this season. You cant do it in the prem….would love to have seen barca deal with wigan on a rain trodden wed night….or go to the brittania to take on the stokies…..it’d be lambs to the slaughter for the team that plays ” beautiful football’.

I have always been adamant that the likes of barca inter would never be able to deal with the physical power tempo speed and toughness of our game, week in week out. In our league you need all facets of football…from skill to muscle. Thats why in my opinion they wouldnt even finish in the top 8.

    it is all over…..

fat lady’s doin a mike check.

  13. suhayl says:

Counting chickens didnt do anyone any good. Still a point to get.

Different fans..different mindset on things i guess.

I just know that football can take it all away and can be so cruel at times.

So for me…i wont celebrate until its mathematically impossible for the dippers to catch us and until the trophy is lifted and the fat lady really sings.

    My take anyway

  14. jesbit says:

suhayl,we aint celebratin….jus puttin the wine on ice.

  15. suhayl says:

Fat lady checkin the mic, hasnt sung yet…..wine on ice, not yet opened though. Is good enough for me jesbit :-)

  16. jesbit says:

    believe

  17. venu says:

    @keanesmagichat,

winning is everything?!!!God I hope that’s not what you’re telling everyone you meet!!! Avid United supporter but would not want people hanging themselves over a game of footie!!!

And none of the “you don’t understand what it means to be a true fan crap”!!!

  18. jespermoses says:

Almost there but I will only relax when the point is in the bag.Worst scenario for the nerves….Lose to Arsenal and a Macheda last minute goal at Hull.

  19. King Eric says:

I am with you again on this Suhayl. Last night just showed how anything can happen, Wigan one nil up, if they had of sneaked another that would have only been three points clear with same games played. Then the dippers beat West Brom and we draw with the Arsenal then it would have gone to the last game and I know for a FACT my head, stomach, nerves and every single part of me could NOT have took it. But this is just “coulda, woulda, shoulda.

However it did not turn out like that and we are very much in the driving seat now. I really cannot wait for Sat dinnertime as I have a feeling the lads will put on a real show. Same midfield as the Champions leagues ties. I just pray to god that we create an electric atmosphere. 18 titles each so the vermin would not be able to use that old chestnut.

It will be proper funny IF we do tie it up on Saturday then Sir Alex puts a third string team out at Hull, we get beat, Hull and their perma tanned inarticulate manager stay up and the geordies and the horrible cunt Shearer get relegated. Hate losing to any team but it would be worth it just to see the “toon” go down and the abu media backlash for “disrespecting the premiership”!!!! Fuckin quality that would be.

  20. Giles Oakley says:

I’m with Suhayl on this, surprise surprise. I don’t know about the Arsenal supporters, it’s United ones that scare me. Can no-one bear to wait till the title’s won before the bragging begins? I guess none of you have been through last day of the season disapointments, when titles we expected to win slipped inexotrably out of United’s grasp. I was there at Old Trafford in 68 when United lost to Sunderland while City won at Newcastle to pip us to the title. Then I was at Upton Park in ’95 when we just could not beat West Ham , handingthe title to Blackburn. Then there was ’92, when we blew it to Leeds in the last few days, or when we threw it away to Arsenal in 98. This title race is just not won yet, Stop acting like it is.

  21. wazza says:

@ Giles : got to agree mate.many of us have not been through the last day of season disappointments that you have experienced.hope it does not go to the last day this time around

  22. wazza says:

@Giles : got to agree with you mate.many of us have not had the last day of season disappointments that you have experienced.hope it does not go to the last day this time around.

  23. dre says:

winning ISNT everything. but trying sure as hell is.

  24. Giles Oakley says:

  25. King Eric says:

Giles – Classic Dylan quote. Take it you are in to decent music, wasn’t it you who brought up Phil Spector as well?

  26. mancaroon says:

try this on for size……”its not the winning, its the taking apart that counts.”
