My scouse mate just said to me they dont mind going out of the CL because they have already accomplished 50% of their goal for this season which is to defeat United home and away……. What a looser comeback statement from a looser mentality supporter of a looser club….. This is serious melt down time for the scousers!! No Champions League which is bad enough financially this year but will be even worse next year if they don’t finish in the top four, which they won’t! Gerrard and Mascherano will be off in the summer ( Torres too will start looking around no matter how loyal he is to Benetiz) and the team will be completely fucked on and off the pitch. What will make matters worse is playing in the mickey mouse Europa League over the next few months — this will be seriously depressing for them and physically draining – crap matches, lots of travelling etc for a meaningless trophy. At least when we went out of the CL in 05 we didn’t have to play in the UEFA Cup (Europa League predecessor) so we could actually concentrate on the league.

I have a feeling this could be a bigger meltdown than Leeds – heres hoping.
