    Nothing has changed and nothing would change..except the players.

    This is how it feels to be City, this is how it feels…

  6. RedGem says:

    “In a COUPLE of years we would overtake United?” C’mon, how could he believe that in the first place? Mathwise, common sense wise, how can that be possible?????? Or am I missing something?

    But, oh, how I love this series!!!

  7. wayne says:

    this one could be the best yet

  8. Costas says:

    Robinho is lying. They overtook United on twitter.

  11. MG says:

    A masterstroke of blogging credentials

    Uplift us you have Scott

    Let’s all laugh at… wait… hold…

    Small club mentality

    How many years : )

    On the independent one of them (Guv) reckons that the charity shield isn’t even a trophy

    I told him beggars can’t be choosers – with that kind of mentality they will win fuck all

    At least when Maureen was at Chelsea he made the competition worthwhile.

    Fucking deluded city are

  12. Costas says:

    The other funny thing is that in the picture Robinho looks like he is trying to tear the shirt of his skin, lol.

  13. MG says:

    Costas

    My dear Costas it’s over then for us : )

    Manchester United twitter 0
    Manchester City twitter 1

    Though it would help if we had a twitter account – we’d blow them out of the water then – let’s give them that head start!

    For United – For Costas – May 2011

  14. GTull says:

    Surely, the Petrov statement last week should be turned into one of these?

  15. Costas says:

    @MG

    Here it is!

    http://therepublikofmancunia.com/city-win-something/

    Lets take the banner down hey?

  16. cantona7 says:

    haha.. the picture is great!

  17. Fred says:

    Hahahaha! Nice one, Robbie. Stick the boot into the MASSIVE club. “We’ve got Robinho!” How predictable that it would end this way. I’ve always liked Robinho as a player, to be fair. Would have been a great player for us I reckon. That said, he’s changed his tune a bit since last summer when he claimed Ciddy were as big as Brazil and Real Madrid:

    It was good whilst it lasted

    : )

  20. King Eric says:

    Fred – Welcome back pal, have missed your humour.

  21. Fred says:

    Cheers King Eric. How could I turn my back on you guys? Life’s too short, mate. Nice to see you again.

  22. Costas says:

    They say you win some, you lose some. We’ve lost our faith in Wayne, but we have Fred back. :P

    Don’t leave again, now…

  23. United1990 says:

    Hahahahahahaha! overtake who?~~

  24. Corea says:

    It’s important you don’t lose your faith in yourself.

  25. Jonny says:

    It’s great to see top class players even if they aren’t playing in red.
    So it’s such a shame for football that City and Chelsea are spoiling the careers of so many good players. Robinho isn’t the first or last.

    Scott Parker and Roque Santa Cruz are two prime examples. Before signing a deal to become highly paid bench warmers, they were fairly big names. Parker has not become the international midfielder he could have been and Santa Cruz will be lucky to get a game this season.

    Don’t be surprised when Balotelli moves on in a few years time.

  26. Costas says:

    In other news, Hargo hasn’t made the Ch.League squad even though there was one free spot. So I guess we are back to square one as far as what his condition is. Not surprised at the Bebe one since I doubt he will play 45 minutes of first team football until Christmas. The exclusion of De Laet was a bit weird though.

  27. Jonny says:

    De Laet doesn’t seem to be getting any chance, even though he was reserve team player of the year. Maybe the plan is to loan him out in the new year? But that doesn’t mean he can’t be selected for the group stage so….

  28. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    do you know what i love most about these

    in everyone there are comments saying “dont forget when_____ said this” there is always more embarrassment for the project, The Shay Given shout has been said for weeks

  29. willierednut says:

    Caption for the picture, i hate playing for City so much, that I’m gonna hate this shirt, ahhh!!!

  30. bbaby says:

    Hahahaha! Best one yet!

  31. Costas says:

    @ancha

    He is a good player. He is an AM that also plays on the right. Definitely too good for the Greek League anyway. The problem with him is similar(but not to the same degree) with Bebe. He is 20 and he hasn’t developed as much as he could. When I think of him joining United, I think of Tosic. It will take something special for him to make his mark.

    However, it must be said that these rumors are not based on Greek reports. So it’s hard to say if his club is willing to sell him just yet. At the same time, a transfer rumor 3 days after the window closed doesn’t seem too valid.

  32. ancha says:

    @costas

    thanks for your review…if only anderson could do a nani…then our squad is complete…

  33. pawaka21 says:

    did he say city? or chelsea instead?

    he not even sure which club he did sign, whether its the blues or the sky blues….LOL

    citeh do overtake united, in terms of years of not winning anything, enter its 34th year….

  34. veek says:

    i posted that on facebook yesterday… good to see that scott had the same idea that i did.

  35. Louis says:

    Dont believe everything youre told, rob!

  36. Louis says:

    About Ninis and Tosic, have to agree that hes better off staying put. Hes too small to make an immediate impact, and we dont buy or play “attacking midfielders”. If you want to make it United as a winger, you have to be big, fast, skillful and mature/confident.

  37. willierednut says:

    Costas – Disagree here mate, think there could be something in the Ninis story, it has been doing the rounds for a few years now.

  38. SR says:

    Lets all take notice of Robinho now eh? I suppose his word is now gospel? It’s your city as well he’s taking the piss out of…..isn’t it?

  39. willierednut says:

    http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/443250373?-11193

    Ninis wants United move.

  40. Costas says:

    @willie

    It’s funny how your perception about transfer rumors can change if you live in the heart of one. Are we monitoring Ninis? Yes. I think this has been the case since he started breaking out 3 years ago. And this is why the Ninis rumor has lasted this long. The papers assume that United will eventually make a move for every player we monitor.

    But I read reports like the one from your link and it has me wondering how accurate they can be. The only quote coming from the Panathinaikos board over here is that United haven’t made an offer. His agent in Greece said the same, although he said that he will double check with the agent Ninis has in England. So either Ninis and his club have been more revealing to foreign press or it’s fabricated. Furthemore, Panathinaikos will undergo a change in their ownership status and I don’t know if selling players is their priority right now.

    That being said, I am not denying it could happen. If United make an offer like the one rumored, Panathinaikos will probably accept it. But I don’t believe there’s much to the story right now.

  41. Stephen says:

    Most of my greek friends say he’s not ready for a transfer like this.. We’ll see

    Nice to see us talking about “OUR” team rather than those in blue.. It’s all getting a bit boring really…. I’d rather read articles about the red side of Manchester….

  42. Costas says:

    @Stephen

    I think that’s a fair comment about Ninis. The problem is that he has never had a Sir Alex to help him perfect his craft. He is still going on raw talent.

  43. Stephen says:

    Yeah, you have a point. From what i’ve head his best came against Roma.

    The coaching will def be of a higher standard and you only have to look what Fergie, Meulesteen and co have done with other youngsters to know they can do the job if he has the talent.

    I get the impression some greeks can’t believe anyone would pay that for him, then again it’s potential that may or may not be fulfilled.

  44. willierednut says:

    You can see SAF thinking, he’d probably play in the Scholes role. Am i right in thinking that he has a buy out clause?

  45. Costas says:

    Yes he does. I think it’s around 8 million pounds. His style isn’t similar to that of Scholes though. He plays as a winger or behind the main striker.

    Stephen, yeah there is a certain amount of disbelief. But it’s not because of his talent. It’s just that no other Greek has ever joined a club like United for that amount. He has a chance of making it in England if he bulks up a bit and adjusts.

  46. willierednut says:

    I thought he played AM. Well, we’d never signed a Mexican, until this season, first time for every thing. Defour is another option of course, or we might sign both, if the glazers dig in to their pockets lmao.

  47. united.george says:

    At least Ninis wants to play for United, instead of the usual line of wanting to play for a “big european club”.

    @costas, is he part Albanian?

    Anyway, it is about time we sign a Greek player:)

  48. Costas says:

    @united.george

    Don’t know his exact roots, but I think he is. He was born there and his family must have immigrated in Greece when he was very young.

    Not saying it’s definitely a lie, but not sure if he prefers United over other big clubs. Again, it’s something that he hasn’t been quoted on yet.

    I’d love to see a Greek play for us. If it was going to be anyone it’s him. Well Samaras was also quite promising but City ruined him, lol.

  49. Costas says:

    @willie

    Yes he is an AM, but I don’t think he can play in a midfield of two. He is more like Joe Cole.
