Marcus Rashford couldn’t have hoped for a much better start to life in Manchester United’s first team.

On his debut, he scored twice against FC Midtjylland to help secure United’s place in the next round of the Europa League. Three days later, he scored twice as United beat Arsenal 3-2 at Old Trafford. On Sunday, he scored the only goal in United’s 1-0 win over Manchester City.

With five goals in his first eight appearances, the lad who joined United when he was just seven-years-old, likely can’t believe what has happened over the past few weeks.

Just a month ago, Rashford was playing for the U-21s at the Etihad and now he is earning all three points for the first team.

However, incredibly, Rashford earns just £500 a week. When you think that after a month he has outscored Radamel Falcao for an entire season, who was reportedly earning £265,000-a-week, it is clear Rashford is due a pay rise.

Reports today claim that United are looking to offer the 18-year-old a £15,000-a-week deal, with his current contract expiring at the end of next season.
