Too Little Too Late From The FA On Racism?

Following penalty misses from Ashley Young and Ashley Cole in England’s defeat to Italy at Euro 2012, Twitter was littered with England fans racially abusing them.

All the tweets have been deleted and some users have blocked their accounts but the police are investigating complaints made.

The FA have today released a statement condemning the behaviour of these fans. It read: “We are concerned at the reports regarding allegations of abuse aimed at England players Ashley Cole and Ashley Young on Twitter. They have just given everything for the national team at Euro 2012 and it is appalling and unacceptable that messages of an abusive type are being posted. We support any police investigation in identifying who is behind this.”

That is great. They need to come out with a strong message saying racism is wrong. But maybe they needed this sort of clarity before now.

Video footage was spread across the internet of John Terry appearing to racially abuse Anton Ferdinand, with it looking like he said: “You fucking black cunt! Fucking knob head!”. Terry gave an interview with The Daily Mail in which he claimed he didn’t call Anton a “fucking black cunt”, he was merely asking Anton whether he thought he had called him such a thing. He also claims he went to see Anton after the game to clear up the “misunderstanding”, something Anton denies. Make up your own mind.

Terry was due to have a trial in February but it was requested by his club that this trial was moved until the end of the season. Bizarrely, this request was granted and Terry was allowed to see out the season. If a teacher had been charged with racially abusing another member of staff, would their request for the trial to be moved to the summer holiday be granted as they continued to work? How about a busy plumber with a lot of jobs on? Regardless, the trial was moved and the FA decided they couldn’t possibly go to Euro 2012 with a captain who had a racial abuse charge hanging over him. Apparently though, they had no problem with going to Euro 2012 with a starting player who had a racial abuse charge hanging over him and Terry was selected. Anton’s brother, Rio Ferdinand, missed out because of this, despite Roy Hodgson’s laughable claims that “footballing reasons” saw Martin Kelly selected ahead of Rio.

So, it’s great that the FA are trying to make a stand on racism, but they have been so wishy washy over the racism issue in regards to Terry that it’s a tad rich for them to try and tackle it now. Let’s have a look at what some of the offenders actually said:

@lukedavidwarren Ashley young is a black cunt
@johnbcfcmillman: It’s all youngs fault you dirty black CUNT!!!!!!
@Lapwnage as John Terry would say, Ashley Young is a FUCKING BLACK CUNT, BLACK FUCKING CUNT!!!!

Let’s kick racism out of football.

    Thanks Scott, very well written.

It’s a shame really that a person charged for racial abuse it allowed to represent the country, now if he is found guilty what a kick in the teeth that would be for the English fans and the country as a whole just because of the incompetence of the corrupt association.

    @King Eric

Hi mate. Cheers for the link. Because I was starting to wonder whether I was the only one that felt Nasri acted like a complete twat.

  22. kanchelskis says:

    @King Eric

Thing is, if he’d come to us (which by all accounts was incredibly close), you can get that Fergie would’ve transformed him into a more decent human being by now. No doubt his lack of class has been allowed to fester unchecked at Wastelands.

  26. fergie is the boss says:

everyone knew englands problems on why they were knocked out, playing a basic 442, playing gerrard out of position, not doing enough to take carrick to the euro’s, cannot keep possession. Rooney was not fit to play, as he would have been a better coming on has a sub, england may have some teqnhnical players coming through. But come 2014 brazil, terry gerrard cole and many more will be even older, its an ageing england squad, that is despretly needing new blood replacing the old guard, but asking gerrard and parker in their 30′s to patrol the midfield for 120 minutes. was asking way to much. And playing 442 cost england

  27. CedarsDevil says:

    What’s been happening dip shits?

I agree with King Eric and Balaji, we need a Marquee World Class signing!!! Seriously though fellas like both gentlemen I mentioned these classifications are just pathetic…….

    MG

Always a pleasure, we are all cheering you on mate

  28. Denise Williams says:

I am sick of the FA they favoured the racist in the team selection for these championships then have the gallto whinge about it when other fans do it.. Racism is wrong whoever does it but as usual the Fa set a rotten example. Mind you the worst of it is yet to come. If John Terry is found guilty of racism then in my view the FA and Hodgson’s positions will be untenable. It is time to throw the FA out and appoint a proper governing body that acts in the best interests of the game. The FA are corrupt from top to bottom as can be seen in the treatment of Michael Owen and Rio Ferdinand.

  29. dannysoya LOVES SIAN MASSEY says:

Who the hell is surprised. I am delighted England are out. Fuck em. Welcome back Rooney and Young and Welbeck. Weclome back to attacking sensible football. I have repeated this time and time again. England is a burden on Wayne Rooney. He should just retire from that whole mess now.

  30. parryheid says:

United have had more than a few arseholes over the years, as far as I am concerned one more makes no difference

  33. Kagawa The Shirt-seller says:

Grown men crying over some silly names calling???

    NO BIG DEAL

  34. Giles Oakley says:

MG, I’m a bit out of touch so don’t know the details, but I gather you have some big health problem still, so I wish you the very best of luck with that. As Costas says, you have a whole Red Army behind you willing you on.

Also, best of luck with the film writing project. Let’s hope the smaller one leads to the bigger one.

All the best, mate, and Write On!

As for John Terry, his presence in the England team was shameful, no other word for it. We’ve heard so much about England’s ‘team spirit’, but you have to wonder what the black players thought. It was sickening to see Terry standing between two black players in team line-ups before the first couple of matches, presumably to show the world he’s not ‘really’ racist.

Hodgson has always come across as a decent sort of fellow, but in this affair he’s shown himself to be either weak and in thrall to alpha-male Terry or simply indifferent to the issues of racism raised by selecting him in front of Rio.Either way he goes down in my estimation, and it’s no surprise that Young and Cole have been subjected to racist abuse by Twitter fans, it’s the almost inevitable result of the FA effectively giving endorsement to such attitudes by not insisting Terry is kept out ot the team. Yes, I know he’s innocent till found guilty, but in almost all walks of life an employee accused of such an offence would be suspended on full pay.

I supposed Hodgson will think to himself that Terry’s strong defensive performances justified his selection, but I think there would have been a far more measured style of defending with Rio, with at least some attempt to keep the ball and play out from the back. Instead we got endless hoofs up field, with the ball inevitably coming straight back. Last ditch defending seems to be England’s style under Hodgson, so I see no real prospect of him pushing in a more progressive direction, it’ll all be long balls from Hart to ‘the big man’ up front.

  35. Jeet says:

…lots of reports linking us to a move for Aimar apparently.

I’ll probably get a lot of stick for this, but I for one, would welcome such a deal. Perfect for the next couple of years, doesn’t “block” the youth, unbeatable experience, and can still dictate the tempo of a game for 90 minutes at the highest level. A true legend of the game, and in my mind, he’s still better than say, Modric (who I rate). Besides, I am sure he’d sell a lot of shirts in Argentina ;)

  36. Jeet says:

@MG: Congrats on the screen play, and fight the good fight against them blistering green monsters! All our best wishes are with you, mate – no way we are going to let this get to you – not in any measure whatsoever!

Will miss you on the blog, take care and get well soon.

  37. kanchelskis says:

    @Kagawa The Shirt-seller

Calling someone a ‘black cunt’ is ‘no big deal’?

Kindly take leave of this board and feel free to fuck yourself.

  38. Costas says:

Funny but I don’t remember Beckham in 98, Phil Neville in 00 or Seaman in 02 being called a “white cunt”. That’s where the problem lies. You either describe every cunt by his colour or you describe none of them.

I know twitter can often become a joke amongst us fans, but in this case, it’s also a sad reflection of how many ignorant idiots we’re surrounded by.

  39. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

My three are one midfielder more(vital)one striker to replace the shorfall and one left back both not vital if Evra can get back to playing left back. And regardless of Glazeronomics if we don’t get them then we are in for a dreadfull season imo.

  43. kanchelskis says:

Agree on those three. Would add the qualifier: dreadful season (by our standards).

I’d say, ideal world: Modric, Van Persie, Alba

    Glazernomics: Strootman/Sahin, Lewandowski, Baines

  45. CedarsDevil says:

    Sir Giles

Great seeing you here pal, hope all is well my friend……….Funny thing is I gave you a mention this morning

  46. NotoriousRedDevil says:

It’s just the way England is. There’s a lot (not all of them) of white people who are nice as pie most of the time but when they don’t get what they want and run out of horrible things to say they then resort to the race card. These types are the same on holiday as well which is why Lanzarote may as well be a European EDL training camp.

As for the FA, this has been going on all season why start now?

Good to see action being taken on twitter. Just wish they did the same with youtube some of their comments on there are disgustingly vile.

  47. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

I just re read your comment from the other thread regarding the term ‘marquee’ …… I Seriously pissed my self………..’Tents at wedding do’s’ ha ha ha

  48. parryheid says:

    kanchelskis.

Ha.Ideal wold for me would be a fucking effective midfield, which we don’t have right now.

  49. CedarsDevil says:

Oh and on the topic at hand………Racism is something the world will never be rid of, still its much better these days than how it was 30 or 40 years ago……

Some of the crap I got during my early schooling days in England is so awful that I cannot share it here………Mind you everyone directing it at me got fucking plastered….There is only so much this Cedars can tolerate

  50. mikekelly12 says:

    Afternoon turtles heads
Dya know what, I think I’ve said all I want to say about the shiting FA!! I honestly can’t be arsed waisting my breath on them anymore because until they are subjected to external governance then nothing is going to change. It’s a big fucking jolly boys!

    Jeet
I wrote after the games that Aimar was head and shoulders above everyone on the field during our ties with Benfica last season. Sir Alex has always been an admirer of the lad.

  51. King Eric says:

Ha. Denise – I was reading your post love and I thought there is NO way you could slot Owen into that paragraph. But you managed to!! Only messing.

  52. King Eric says:

Cedars – Hello mate. Cheers pal. Well it fucks me off. We need a marquee signing. Or even worse. “We need a STELLAR name”. Fuck off.

  53. CedarsDevil says:

Before I came across RoM I used to read and post on a general football forum (later crashed, nothing to do with me I swear) A poster used the moniker Pablo’s Dick, in reference and support of Aimar, the fella was fascinated with him and I have to agree……..But the lad is 32 and do we really need another attacking midfield player?

  54. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

How about the term ‘dubbed as the new so and so’??? That fucking irritates the shit out of me

  55. CedarsDevil says:

People easily forget that United make stars, we do not fucking buy them………..Name me the last so called ‘star’ or so called ‘world class’ player we bought???

  56. parryheid says:

    Kagawa? Hernandez.

  57. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

Oh and on the topic of sheep at hand………Shaggism is something Elland Rd will never get rid of, still the sheep is much better these days than how it was 30 or 40 years ago……

Some of the sheep I got during my early schooling days in England were so awful that I cannot shag it here………Mind you everyone directing the sheep towards me got fucking plastered….There is only so much this Cedars can shag!

  58. red_bicycle says:

    @cedars

What is ur definition of star?

Ashley Young was star for villa fans before joining us.

Chicharito was already star in Mexico.

Tony V was star player in wigan and also ecuador.

But world class, this kinda hard…

  59. CedarsDevil says:

    Kagawa? Hernandez?

Yeah right, I would chop my arm off if any United supporter had heard of the pair before we were in for them……….. Hernandez in particular was unknown before having a good WC and United had signed him…..

We made Robson, Cantona, Ronaldo, we made Keane, we created Edwards, Best, Scholes, Sir Bobby…..Should I go on?

  60. kanchelskis says:

If you’re talking genuine world-class, universally-acknowledged finished article. I guess Veron?

  61. Jeet says:

@Cedars: From what I’ve seen of Aimar, he’s more Scholes/Modric than Kagawa/Silva…in other words, plays much deeper.

  62. CedarsDevil says:

    kanchelskis

I knew that name would come up………..How did that turn out by the way?

  63. red_bicycle says:

World class: Laurent Blanc, Michael Owen,Barthez

  64. kanchelskis says:

    @Cedars

    Well, exactly,

    @red_bicycle

In the cases of Blanc and Owen, it was very much erstwhile world class players. Nobody would deny that neither were at the peak of their powers when they joined, so they weren’t bought as world class marquee signings.

And Barthez? Really? Was his stock that high when he joined?

  65. WillieRedNut says:

Aimar link is tedious. Red tops are bored, so throwing another name into the mix will have to do until the football starts again….

  66. CedarsDevil says:

    Jeet

I saw a lot of Aimar during his Valencia days and I am a big fan, class all around……..I would be chuffed if we got him but I just do not think we need him

  67. parryheid says:

And don’t forget the Egg on legs Anderson

  68. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Just read the whole thread. Whatever you’re going through MG, get well soon mate. Like others have said we’re all behind you.

Sir Giles, good to read a post of yours again. Well said as per usual.

Hell King Eric. Hope all is well. For me Kagawa is the marquee signing. People forget the Bundesliga has got strionger they get 4 teams in the CL now instead of Italy so people shouldn’t look down on that signing for not being marquee, perhaps if the saga had been a soap opera it would have satisfied their lust for football gossip and hoopla.

I was having a conversation with another United fan and I kind of understand where they are coming from as over the last few years we have paid what WERE large transfer fees for players that wouldn’t have commanded those fees when we were breaking transfer records.

I like Ashley Young but no way was he worth £18 million paid £6 million too much IMO. They want the star power that used to go with players at that price. The market has since gone stupid and players that were available for no more than £20 million are commanding fees of £30 million minimum which is often unjustified. We’ve only spent £30 million on a player once and don’t see it happening anytime soon.

If it is 2 new players one full back who is versatile and another midfielder in the Fletcher mould in case Darren doesn’t make it back is all we need. If we are to sign another striker then we need to sell one of the ones we already have.

  69. WillieRedNut says:

Barthez’s stock was pretty high……he’d just won the World Cup 2 years previous. Whether he was deemed to be world class is open to different opinions.

  70. CedarsDevil says:

My main concern over the past 7 or 8 years when it comes to United was never about replacing Keane but more about replacing Scholes………..The man just controls the game every time he plays. Really happy he is staying on for another season, we can start worrying about replacing him next year!!

    Parry

    You’re missing the point mate

  71. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ Cedars – Rooney and Rio were stars. Definetely Rio a few clubs were in for him when we got him. His stock rose by joining United by he definitely made himself a star in the 2002 World Cup. Similar again with Rooney 2 years later although more of a young prodigy that one.

Barthez had just won the World Cup and the Euros, was one of the best goalies in the world at the time when we signed him. How it turned out is the way people remember him but we did win the league twice in the 3 years he was here. Certainly better than Bosnich, Carrol and Howard in my view.

I do see what you’re saying though just throwing the alternative view out there.

  72. parryheid says:

    CedarsDevil.

I’m not you know,I’m just wittering on.

  73. Jeet says:

@Cedars: I tend to agree with you (and of course Denton), that what we need is someone to put a little bit of bite and box-to-box drive beside Carrick.

Trouble is, I don’t think Fergie sees it that way. He came out with the statement that we are not in for a defensive midfielder, and clearly we have been interested in Modric. So I think he’s looking at a deep lying playmaker to pair with Carrick rather than the box-to-box bruiser. Hence Aimar, hence Modric. That’s my guess anyway – for what it’s worth, its totally pointless for us to try and figure out what goes on in The Great Man’s mind :)

  74. red_bicycle says:

    Kanchelskis

Barthez was france first goalie during wc 1998 before joining us in 2000.

But I agree that united creates more world class players, than buy them. The list of world class players created is definetely longer.

  75. CedarsDevil says:

    NRD

How old was Rooney when we got him? You do have a point with Rio though, my argument is not bullet proof but it almost is!

    Parry

I know you’re just taking the piss mate

  76. kanchelskis says:

    @NRD

Barthez’s reputation was tarnished by his clown moments. When he wasn’t dicking around, he was a great keeper with a nearly complete game. Agility, reading of the game, distribution etc. Just had those rush of blood to the head moments.

In nearly any other part of the pitch, you can fluff your lines 3 or 4 times a season and still be considered a great. Between the sticks, that’s not possible.

  77. parryheid says:

Before I got into this I was going to let you know about the May issue of Knitting Life. But I’m not going to now.

  78. CedarsDevil says:

    Jeet

Winning the US lottery would be easier than figuring out what Fergie is thinking mate

  79. kanchelskis says:

    @Jeet / Cedars

Worth pointing out that there are many great teams out there that don’t have a box-to-boxer. Madrid and Barca the obvious candidates. Chelsea won the flippin CL without one (well, I guess Ramires but he was playing on the wing for them this season). City have one in Toure and Bayern have one in Schweini, but it’s by no means imperative to having a good team.

  80. CedarsDevil says:

    kanchelskis

I never said we need such a player pal

  81. WillieRedNut says:

Carrick was Keane’s replacement. Different player obviously. Scholes replacement might already be at the club.

  82. NotoriousRedDevil says:

    @ kanchelskis

I agree with you, think Keano said it best in his autobiography.

“His mistakes were few but spectacular”

Always remember that quote. As a goalie you get found out. His “clown” moments all worked the first year but then he got found out. The Stretford End used to roar as he deftly sidestepped an on rushing forward with the ball still at his feet. The following season it didn’t work at Blackburn and he should have learnt his lesson but he didn’t. It was part of what made him Barthez I suppose.

  83. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

You mean Kagawa? I would tend to agree

  84. NotoriousRedDevil says:

I thought Scholes replacement was at West Ham….only joking ;-)

  85. WillieRedNut says:

Seems no one on here has a scooby doo what United need in midfield. ;) Whatever it is, I hope it ain’t Rafael again. Still having nightmares over that one……

  86. kanchelskis says:

    @Cedars

I know, but many think we do.

  87. WillieRedNut says:

    Cedars – No.

  88. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

Who then Wee Thomas? Again I would agree………. Do spare me the pain and tell me who you mean

  89. NotoriousRedDevil says:

I think we need one of those players. Real and Barca don’t play in the PL and look where chelski finished last season without one.

Our midfield wasn’t exactly great in the CL last year and with a bit of steel would have got enough points out of the Basle games and probably wouldn’t have drawn with Benfica at home either. We look a hell of a lot stronger with Darren Fletcher in the side, and if he can’t come back then we should get someone in a similar mould if not for playing week in week out but just to add an option.

  90. WillieRedNut says:

Cedars – You got it in 2!

  91. Jeet says:

@kanchelskis: I’d leave out Barca – currently, they are a bit of a freak. Hate them with a passion, but I’d argue that a team with Xavi, Messi, Iniesta AND a unique tactical approach don’t need The Energizer. Madrid and most other teams play with 2 holding midfielders. One the interceptor-playmaker a la Carrick/Alonso, the other is the out and out destroyer a la Khedira. Can’t imagine United going for a limited destroyer, though.

  92. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

Cheers, I guess I am not as daft as I thought I was!! For what its worth I fucking love Wee Thomas with a passion………….His ball to Welbz (against Spurs was it???) still lives on in my memory…..

Home grown players will always have a special place in my heart

  93. Mikekelly12 says:

Was Berba not a marquee signing?

  94. WillieRedNut says:

Fergie said he wouldn’t sign a holding midfielder. If Fletch is struggling, we might have to change our stance. If not an out and out HM, then a box to box midfielder would suffice. Modric will go to Madrid. What names are out there? Strootman, Tiote, Sahin and Banega.

  95. WillieRedNut says:

    Marquee and stellar enough? :)

  96. Mikekelly12 says:

    Rooney was Stella signing.

  97. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

One thing for sure, you are a marquee poster

  98. Mikekelly12 says:

I think Veron was a flagship signing.

  99. Mikekelly12 says:

Tevez was an intergalactic cunt signing!

  100. CedarsDevil says:

Funny as fuck how a debate all of a sudden becomes a piss take on RoM…………Fucking love this place

  101. Jeet says:

@Mikekelly12: Do you have any conception of what you have done? You have brought the Berbabate to the world class debate…the mirror breaks, the curse of the 700 post thread RoM zombies is come upon you…REPENT!!!

  102. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@WRN – I know Fergie said that but as much as I respect the man I tend to ignore what he says about who he will and won’t sign.

He also said we wouldn’t sign anyone in the 2009 January transfer window and yet 10 hours into the new year we signed Tosic and we thought we had signed Lljac as well. We know how it turned out but the club did make a big deal out of it for a low key signing.

He’s signed Ince, Keane, Hargreaves and heavily pursued Gattuso. All destroyers in my eyes I’m really not sure who is realistically available. If we could get Tiote for a reasonable price maybe him but I don’t have anyone in mind who I’m desperate we sign.

Can we sign Seedorf though. Don’t care how old he is just to see him in a United shirt would just be quality.

  103. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
Haha. And you are the Don!
    Jeet
Oh god have mercy what have I done… It’s ok pal, I don’t think anyone has noticed!

  104. CedarsDevil says:

Intergalactic cunt???? Ha ha ha Another term of the highest funny fucking order!

  105. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Nice one mikekelly had to mention him. Even I tiptoed around that by saying we should sell “A” striker.

    Jeet’s right, unless there’s a new thread this one’s going to a 1000.

  106. CedarsDevil says:

Glad it was Mike this time, before I am blamed as usual for going off topic and being non technical….ha ha ha

  107. WillieRedNut says:

NRD – Scholes can do what Seedorf can. Need something different. I know a few on here would throw their panties in the air if we signed Martinez. Namely(Mikey) ;) Fergie can say one thing, but do the complete opposite. I hope that’s the case this time! Carrick can’t keep carrying the load in CM. Anderson and Cleverley picked up injuries last season, that left Carrick as our main midfielder. Until Scholes came back in January anyway.

  108. Mikekelly12 says:

    NRD
I’m like a bull in a china shop sometimes. I’ll go to confession immediately and do 12 Hail mary’s!!

  109. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@mikekelly12- I’d rather you drink 12 Bloody Mary’s and raise some more hell on here!!!

  110. WillieRedNut says:

If we truly want a `stellar` signing, then Buck Rodgers would be my choice. 8)

  111. CedarsDevil says:

    12 Hail mary’s?? Sainthood guaranteed…….. All hail Saint Mike…

Wait, do we Catholics not have one already?

  112. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ WRN – I know we don’t need Seedorf as we have Scholesy but in fantasy land I’d still have him for a year. Even if it was like a Larrson type signing.

Still typing that feels strange in a good sense. Henrik Larsson played for Manchester United :-)

  113. Mikekelly12 says:

    Willie
My g-string would have been in the air but the way he’s been whoring himself out to Real Madrid has put me off!!
    NRD
Dya know what, I can be partial to a bloody Mary!
    Cedars
What topic have we drifted off?

  114. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

    No fucking clue mate

  115. Jeet says:

Zaphod Bebblebrox for me – the best bang since The Big One :)

But if we can’t get him, “Don’t panic” :)

  116. Costas says:

My 2 biggest worries going into the new season is the lack of cover at both full back berths and the reliance on sicknotes in midfield. If neither issue is properly addressed this summer, then I can see us getting getting conveniently getting knocked out of all cup competitions by March in order to focus on the Premiership. It’s a good squad in numbers, but not for every position.

So yeah, I agree 67% of the way with Parryheid’s demands. Another striker would also be welcome, but I have a feeling Macheda will feel the gap for now.

  117. NotoriousRedDevil says:

To try and stay somewhat on topic. Can’t accuse United fans on here being racist we’re talking about potential transfer targets and not an Englishman among them!!!!

  118. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ Costas – The only way is Macheda playing is if we sell one of our strikers and don’t buy anybody else. If we don’t sell any of them then Macheda will end up doing what he has done last 2 years, cup competitions and then off to a club where they sack their manager.

He should go on a season long loan to a PL team failing that half a season in the Championship then bring him back for the run in or try and get him a PL team then

  119. CedarsDevil says:

    Jeet

    Zaphod Bebblebrox??? Epic

    NRD

Not all correct mate, the mere thought of CLLC at United has me drooling…………In disgust may I add!!

  120. Mikekelly12 says:

    Costas
We have plenty of cover at right back with Rafael, Jones and Smalling. But i agree, with Fabio out on loan (has he gone?) Left back we have only Fryers if he stays (has he gone?) and Evra. If rumours are to be believed Baines will come in this area. On Thursday according to the reincarnation of Fly!

  121. Costas says:

    @Notorious

Well to be fair mate, Baines was mentioned as a target and he got quite a few of fanboys. Especially Fred.

As for Macheda, when you are talking about selling one of our strikers, do you include Berbatov on the list? Because for me, he’s as good as gone. The way I see it working out, Will’s injury and Berbatov’s departure will promote Macheda into the attacking foursome. And this will be his last chance to make an impression. Can’t see another loan move to be honest. It will probably end up getting fucked up too… Anyway, if Kiko is the 4th striker, that should mean more opportunities for him. Only one problem. If Kagawa’s arrival means a shift to the 4-5-1 formation, that will render the 4th striker useless. As Yorke found out in 01-02…

  122. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

Do you know anything mate? That last post of yours was just full of fucking questions, confused the living day lights out of me

  123. Cyril Sneer says:

Surely there are limits to what the FA can do. A statement in the press isn’t going to make much difference, especially to people like “neanderthal man”. Personally I think the most logical action is to set out a clear policy that all clubs have to adhere to (rather than at their discretion) including a degree of obligatory punishment from the clubs themselves.

Take the Suarez issue. The FA handed him a ban but Liverpool did nothing, thus perpetuating the idea that he was the victim and not Patrice Evra, not to mention those stupid t-shirts. Liverpool should have been forced to punish him (fines and a sincere apology to the victim go without saying) in a public manner that makes it clear that it will not be tolerated from players. The very least they could do is oblige the player to actively participate in local anti-racism projects. I’m not saying the people of Liverpool are inherently racist, just that the misplaced sense of outrage over “unfair” treatment of their player could lead to a few incidents. Showing Suarez as genuinely apologetic would have done a lot to ease the situation.

Similarly, not only should John Terry not have been allowed to continue as part of the England squad until his case is settled, his club should never have been allowed to request delays to the case and should be forced to add additional punishments if he is found guilty, especially given the ludicrously low fine he may receive from the court. £2,500 for a professional footballer on Terry’s wages is laughable.

Obviously it becomes more difficult for the FA when it is “fans” that are responsible for the racism but they can oblige clubs to issue lifetime bans (difficult to police but possibly the best they can do) in the same way they deal with hooliganism.

Just my two penn’orth. Now back to my silly posts

  124. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
    I don’t know.

  125. Cyril Sneer says:

Oh, if you want a stellar signing then it’s got to be Captain Picard. He’s Galaxy Class.

  126. Costas says:

    @Mike

Hi mate Here’s the thing though. I am not a fan of playing Jones or Smalling at right back. They can do the job there and with 5 central defenders fit they will need match practice (imo Rio, Vida and Jonny are the top 3 in the pecking order). However, we should start grooming these two to take over and playing them at right back isn’t helping.

Nonetheless, we can work out a solution at RB (Valencia a last ditch resort too), but at LB it’s even worse. We are looking at a situation where Evra might be the only option. Can’t answer your questions for sure, but I do believe Fabio will go on loan and Fryers will leave. Going by media reports anyway. Who knows? Maybe The Fly 2 (attrocious movie by the way) is right.

  127. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

Ha ha ha……Funny fucker……Got Chris Rea on me loud speakers, On The Beach has my head knocking back and forth

  128. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
On the beach. You lucky bugger. Pissing down here!!
    Costas
I agree mate, playing them out of position isn’t great but Rafael would start for me and Smalling was terrific. Jones wasn’t as polished there last term but can do a job.

  129. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

On The Beach is a song mate by Chris Rea, do not get all daft on my ass now!! hahaha

  130. Redbilly says:

Kagawa the shirt seller- I have a Ugandan mate, ex heavyweight boxer. If you wish to test out your theory , please feel free to come and call him a fucking black cunt to his face. I’m sure he would be happy to oblige.

I bet most of us could beat the pants off Macheda at table-tennis. Wazza seems decent though.

  132. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
Haha!! I honestly did not know that!!

  133. WillieRedNut says:

I’m coming home for Christmas! Chris Rea…. 8)

  134. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ Costas – Until he’s gone he’s still a United player. In all fairness it should have happened by now. If he doesn’t go Fergie will use him as much as he did last season. For me other ares on the pitch are a priority. We’re hardly likely to get any decent money for him so if after sorting the other areas, we can bring someone in and sell him then great. If not he’s not exactly a hindrance or a shit player despite what is written on here at times.

It’s quite simple you take him out of the equation you’re left with Welbeck Rooney, Hernandez & possibly Macheda.. If Rooney were to get injured for a season we’d be fucked. As good as Danny and Hernandez are they aren’t ready to carry the strike force on their own yet.

If Rooney were to get injured and you have him, Welbeck, Hernandez and Macheda. Far more deadly.

We don’t really have a plan B up top for when Rooney is injured. If nothing else I’d like to see a partnership with the other strikers a la 99. No point in having 4 strikers if only one of the positions is up for grabs.

  135. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

Ha ha ha I guessed as much hence it was an easy dig!

    Jeet

I rape shit at table tennis, bring the fuckers on I say………No seriously I am good….Just keep the Chinese away

  136. Mikekelly12 says:

    Lady in Red…. Cedars!

  137. fergie is the boss says:

kanchelskis – I still thought bartez was a very good keeper for united, I thought he had 2 very good seasons, in the 2000/01 season, and the 2002/03 season. It never helped bartez when we had such a depleted defence. But in the 2 title winning seasons in 2001 and 2003, he did fantastic for us

  138. Costas says:

    @MIke

In all likelyhood, if Rafa is fit, he’ll start. It’s just a question of how often he will be fit! It’s early to tell, but I have a funny feeling that Jones will end up as an RB over the next few years. But hopefully Smalling will become the CH I always knew he would. :D

  139. TonyBee says:

    sigh….got sacked today….pissed off to fuck………

  140. ididnotzeeit says:

    @ Jeet

Odd that you’d use “Macheda at table tennis” and “pants” in the same sentence….I was thinking something along those lines.

Lord help’em, I’m not sure he knew which end of the paddle to use. Too funny, Nani talking shit until Wazza was brought up. Seems he’s a hallowed player on the TT pitch :)

    Clevs looks rubbish as well

  141. WillieRedNut says:

Table tennis is for old dudes. 8)

  142. ididnotzeeit says:

Sorry to hear that TonyBee….glass half full mate, perhaps there’s something better waiting for you.

  143. CedarsDevil says:

    TonyBee

No shit??? That is sad news mate…….What now?

  144. fergie is the boss says:

NotoriousRedDevil – I think kagwa could be a plan B to rooney if we talk about playing the no10 role, leading the line, I still think hernandez and welbeck have allot to learn, but if kagwa is the player everyone says he can be, if he plays off a welbeck or hernandez, his through balls could be deadly, and his eye for goal. Its like having a technical version of lampard

  145. Joffrey Baratheon says:

I’m not having a few thousand morons make a case to putting up the sarcastic comments of “choose England” the world will never be rid of racism totally. Never simple as. People haven’t learned to live together since the beginning of time and it’s still like that. But by and large England is a very tolerant nation when it comes to ethnic minorities when you compare us to nearly all other European nations. I’m very proud to be English on that front!

  146. WillieRedNut says:

    TonyBee –

  147. Mikekelly12 says:

    TonyBee
Shit news fella. Sorry to hear it.

  148. CedarsDevil says:

Fuck this shit………….me thoughts are with TonyBee at the minute

  149. WillieRedNut says:

MG’s funny eye…….TonyBee loses his job…….Cedars listening to Chris Red while playing table tennis…….WTF is happening!

  150. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ fitb – Thats a good shout. It will be intriguing to see how Fergie uses him we as supporters won’t really know until Christmas what his best position is for us. If he does play in the No. 10 role then supports my argument of not getting another striker. He’ll be competing for one place between Welbeck and Hernandez and obviously a few cup starts here and there.

If someone comes in who’s a big name it stunts Hernandez and Welbecks development. we’ll all find out in about a month what the squad is shaping like and a month after that it will all be confirmed. Have to say in general its been very quiet in regards to transfer activity during the Euros.

  151. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ Tony Bee – Sorry to hear that mate.

  152. WillieRedNut says:

FITB – I think Kagawa will play off Rooney. Unless the latter gets injured, or is sold….

  153. Costas says:

    @Notorious

Personally speaking, I would like to see more rotating between the 4 strikers (whether the 4th guy is Berba or Macheda). It makes us more unpredictable and less dependent on Rooney. Which isn’t a bad thing. Because like you said, we don’t know when we might get another serious injury that will rule a player out for a season. But like FITB said, Kagawa with his creativity will hopefully serve as a Rooney backup if something goes wrong. That being said, if Fergie is intent on switching the system back to 4-5-1, not a lot of rotating can happen. We just have to hope Rooney can readjust to playing as a sole striker again. Welbeck can also play in that position without any problems. Not so sure about Hernandez though. I think he’s better off with a partner.

  154. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

Worst things have happened mate…..I do feel for me mates on here though…………Speaking of table tennis I do and in all honesty rape shit

  155. Costas says:

    @TonyBee

Needless to say, I hear this kind of news quite often over here nowdays. But it’s always hard to offer any words of comfort. I hope something else pops up soon mate. The cream always rises to the top as they say.

  156. WillieRedNut says:

Cedars – Get your ass over to Belfast then? Me, you some hot babes and booze! I’m a dab hand at the table tennis….. ;)

  157. Capitano says:

FA were soo worried b4 euros and expressed concern of their Black players, being racially abused by rival fans, only to receive it from their own fans. English media are now trying to blame United players for Euro failures, like they always do after every major tournament. Some talking how Rooney was not fit, others how Young didn’t make clear cut chances. I even saw
one talking about how immature Danny is! “If both Ashleys are to blame for Euros exit? what about 4previous exits?

    both

  158. fergie is the boss says:

NotoriousRedDevil – I wont go into a midfield debate to much, since some PPL could not grasp what I was getting across, that my view the need to sign one badly to help carrick out, and preserve giggs and scholes, as I still am worried cleverly anderson and fletcher are not going to be fit enough over a whole season. Kagwa is going to be world class, but if we add another midfielder it completes united and It actually makes united a tactical machine of a 4231/433 of
    carrick ??
    valencia kagwa young/nani
    rooney

I do believe if we add another, its going to be hard for anyone to stop us

  159. CedarsDevil says:

Shit news for TonyBee, but this is one place I’d come to, for a little cheer me up.

  161. CedarsDevil says:

    FITB

I mean this with no offence what so ever, but you are seriously boring as fuck mate

  162. NotoriousRedDevil says:

I agree fitb. Carrick is the only midfielder at present who performs any sort of proper defensive duties in midfield. Obviosuly theres unfortunate circumstances regarding Fletcher but our problems lie there and we should address those first. We also have Young who can play there and unlike for England he has better support from our midfield and the wings.

  163. Warwick says:

Rumoursville – medical booked by city at The Alex for Van Persie – and get this – another in a couple of weeks(after the final) for Ronaldo!

  164. WillieRedNut says:

Sounds like nutty shit? Ronaldo one, anyway!

  165. NotoriousRedDevil says:

meant Young could play in the hole not in Fletcher’s position, to avoid any confusion.

  166. CedarsDevil says:

    NRD

Thanks for that, you almost confused the fuck out of me

  182. Fred says:

Prasan – yep, I’ve heard those rumours too. Someone on Twitter said Rooney, Nani and Vidic are going to be sold to City to fund the signings. Hope it’s not true.

Good night Fred..finally off to bed now! Take care brother.

  201. samuel - united WE stand says:

Came back home and thought i’d watch some kagawa and powell videos and can’t describe how excited i am about these two.

They’re exceptional players, really technically gifted. They both float about the pitch effortlessly but on kagawa, he’s a burgeoning player that is on the boundaries of being world class. He’s so skillful, drifts past opponents with measured acceleration and technique in the tightest of areas. He’s very intelligent with the ball, more often than not picking the right passes in the final third. He’s best used as a playmaker, he’ll feed the players in front of him all day long with precise quality final pass. I think we’ve hit the jackpot here and at a fraction of the price you’d usually have to pay for a player of his calibre. He’s bound to score loads of goals as wel as his finishing is very impressive. He’ll flourish in the 4-2-3-1 formation FERGIE is gonna employ, can’t wait to watch him dazzle, hope he settles well.

On powell, well we’ve signed a potentially top class player there. At 18, he looks so composed with the ball, he drifts across the pitch with the rare class you find in a player. He seems to always have time on the ball and that pays testament to his reading of the game. His shooting skill is phenomenal, he hits them cleanly and i’m impressed with his overall technical ability. Been a long time since i’ve seen a young english midfielder with such great technique. I know people say leaping from league two is a huge step but i can assure you that FERGIE will trust him and if the manager feels he’s ready then he’ll be fighting for a first team spot. He doesn’t need a loan spell or be thrown into the reserves, he’ll be amongst the first team players.

FERGIE has done well again and i hope they both settle. I feel the manager will bring in more players as wel.

I think i got carried away and couldn’t stop typing. I apologise!

  203. FletchTHEMAN says:

Samuel, You must be walking on the sunny side. Much rather be talking about the lads we have than the lads we don’t. I just got on Twizler and my TL is full of Baines this… Baines that.

Tell me why we dump 15M on a position we have covered at least 5 deep?

  204. Giles Oakley says:

Tony Bee, I’m really sorry to hear your bad news. Kind of puts things in perspective. I’ve always enjoyed your posts here on RoM and think well of you, so I really hope things work out for you. Maybe you’ll get a better job, but whatever you have a lot of friends here, mate. Best of luck in the coming weeks and months.

  205. samuel - united WE stand says:

The contradiction from pogba’s agent is incredible. He claims serie a is in decline and van persie shouldn’t move there but yet he’s snatching pogba out of united’s grasp, advising him to join juventus. I’m bemused.

  206. FletchTHEMAN says:

TonyBee, Giles just focused me on your plight mate. Cheers.

It’s the opportunity to do something bold!

    Hang in there.

  207. samuel - united WE stand says:

FletchTheman – I don’t see FERGIE squandering money on baines because 1. a full-back should not be priced beyond 10million 2. I don’t think he’ll improve on what we have. Fabio has more potential and could be a better player with more experience which he’ll gather on loan or maybe he’ll be kept at oldtrafford in order to dislodge evra.

As you say, united also have other options to play the role. Baines is not needed and won’t be bought, not with that price-tag anyway. We should spend the money we have on crucial positions (another central midfielder if possible and a striker).

  210. FletchTHEMAN says:

Samuel, Agreed on the Baines. Nothing against Baines. But we don’t need him and the price is just beyond all reason given our depth in that position.

  211. Sandeep1878 says:

    Morning reds around the world,

    FA are cunts – check

Terry is a bigger cunt – check

    ###

Heard King Cantona was supporting Justice for 96 cause? good of him…

  212. Sandeep1878 says:

Capello said: ‘After seeing the latest game, I think Rooney only understands Scottish. That’s because he only plays well in Manchester, where Sir Alex Ferguson speaks Scottish.’

    ###

    you jealous bastard..

England doesnt have what it takes to get the best out of players and if United and Sir Alex has it, dont be jealous, dont point your fingers at them..

    I have to say,

Rooney, comes back and scores a winner that puts them in QF,

then due defensive tactics, has a bad game,

all the media starts to roll back the years..

    wonderful..

thats the price you pay for playing for England..

and this twat Capello should know that irrespective of how Rooney plays for United, he was still the best English player in the Euro qualifiers..

do these cunts really are real?

good to see you posting again mate..

In an odd way, I’m glad to see TheWayneBoy get barracked from pillar-to-post by the Ingerland supporters and their former messiah – maybe he’ll understand why TheGingerNinja thought that it was a waste of time doing “international duty”.

  223. Jeet says:

    Morning, fellow-reds.

First up, TonyBee – feel bad for you. For what it’s worth, your posts never failed to bring me a chuckle, and I wish you good luck for the days ahead.

I have a bit of an idea – maybe one of my typical wild-assed hippie ones, but bear with me for a moment. We have hundreds of people on here – all (well, most) Reds with a passion. As we all know, the world is going to shit – bankers creating a market for toxic “assets” and then betting for them to fail (How sick is that by the way? Imagine if your friendly peddlar gave a you a bag of the finest, sent you off with a high five and then tipped off the cops?). Even in India, we have been seeing mass layoffs, talent fucked off on a day’s notice, no severance package. The current regime is looting the country dry, and then going on record to say that people shouldn’t protest against scams as they have an adverse effect on investor sentiment.

    Anyway, I digress.

The idea is – why don’t we help each other? Don’t mean to turn this into a professional networking forum, but in times of need, surely we should connect with each other and help out. So for TonyBee, and anybody else in diifficult situations, I urge you – feel free to talk to us. Somebody, somewhere is going to be able to help. We pride ourselves on our sense of community, and what’s the fat use in that if we just limit ourselves to polite commiseration and don’t stick up for each other?

Enough said – over to you guys. What do you think?

  224. Jeet says:

On to other, and less important, stuff.

    2. FUCK CAPELLO – fucking failure at the job, and giving it large about Rooney being the root of all problems, you jealous cunting ABU fuck, Fabio-ooo-I-am-the-disciplinarian-Capello. Who gives a fuck about what you think about Rooney, eh? And saying he understands Scottish – cunt-in-a-turd couldnt converse properly with his players in English, Fabio-ooo-look-at-my-Italian-suit-Capello. FUCK OFF.

    3. Carrying on from last night – Cedars and Willie, boys, count me in on table tennis. My backhand isn’t that strong, but the forehand is like a Howitzer, and the service is like a Michael Holding yorker :)

Good morning again, my merry madmen of RoM :)

  225. Sandeep1878 says:

    Morning Jeet,

I assume you are in full swing today ;)

  226. CedarsDevil says:

    Morning dip shits…..

Just reading back some of the posts from last night, how can anyone not love this place? Some fantastic debates then all of a sudden it becomes a piss take of the highest order, funny as fuck….TonyBee loses his job and gets all the support from the lads, as does MG with his eye problem….By far the best RED community in the world…..

    Brigadier19

I have studied your request carefully and I accept a joint command for the Sicily ABU division….Your undoubted military experience and of course high rank would be most welcomed, so you will be a joint leader along side myself……Still I will have to swear you in so to speak! As for your er job to be, I could give you hundreds of ideas mate, just cannot post them here…….Perhaps I will do so using the famous Sicilian technique i.e. through a post it note!

  227. Red Indian says:

Not surprising really. If you have a medium like Twitter, every idiot with access to an internet connection thinks his opinion matters a lot. It’s also a very easy way for people to suddenly get global attention – their fifteen minutes of fame, so to speak.

On the issue of JT, we all know he’s a cunt. Nothing more to say there :D

  228. CedarsDevil says:

Arsenal have completed the signing of Giroud and they also signed Podolsky……..Hmm one too many strikers me thinks…..Could RvP be on his way? Just hope its not shitty, any ounce of respect I have for him would be washed down the drain…….

Anyway, I think the Gunners will be there or there abouts next season, top four as it were…..Much rather them than the rent boys to be honest

  229. Sandeep1878 says:

    Che Cedara,

    Morning my friend,

yup, by far THE BEST RED community in the world!!

thats ROM, that is our fucking ROM!!

  230. lordrt says:

until we have idiots like blatter and platini in the fifa and uefa, we cannot only blame the fa concerning racism. unfortunately this issue is tarnishing the beautiful game, with the evra-suarez case, terry-anton, and may be other cases which have not come to light so far. just read that even balotelli is being caught in it and from the country he is representing, as a newspaper depicted him as “king kong” on their frontpage. so to kick racism out, i think the two previously named football chiefs need to be kicked out first then get a football management that really takes strict action on such incidents

  231. CedarsDevil says:

    Jeet

Would love a match of table tennis mate, not to brag on but its one of them sports that I am really gifted at!! Was always shit at football, even with my hight I was terrible at basketball!! Only team sport I excelled at was volley ball………

    Sandy Baby

It is indeed my friend, I frigging love this place

  232. CedarsDevil says:

To keep on, I was ok at rugby, school level only…….Played cricket at school as well, was a heck of a bowler, used to scare the fuck out of the batsman!! ha ha ha

  233. Jeet says:

    “…not to brag on”…

  234. CedarsDevil says:

    Bugger!

  235. booandman says:

    Happy Birthday to…………ME :) )

  236. CedarsDevil says:

Actually I think I could have had a good career at sports but at 18 I found my true calling…..Babes, beer and joints!! Fuck yeah!!

  237. CedarsDevil says:

    booandman

No shit? Have a blast pal, get wasted and laid of course………If you are not into either activity just have fun! Happy Birthday

  238. Jeet says:

Cedars – I was pants at cricket, strange for an Indian, eh? Never played volley, horrible at badminton, despite being tall (shade under 6) for an Indian.

Decent at tabletennis like I mentioned, but in football I used to be a scary defender, still can slide in with perfect timing and get the ball clean without touching the player, and never shy away from a physical challenge…not very skilful though, and never a “technical player” ;) …I guess I would fit right into a team of cunts with the likes of Carrcunt and Terrycunt, haha.. :)

    …not to brag on… :)

  239. Jeet says:

    Happy Birthday, Booandman!

  240. CedarsDevil says:

    Jeet

I forgot about badminton, I used to rape shit in that game as well, not to brag on of course….!!

So you’re a decent defender eh? Sad that you’re not technical enough

  241. CedarsDevil says:

All these trips down memory lane have gotten me all nostalgic………..I miss the 80′s!

Anyone remember Kim Wilde? God she used to rock my world, had a huge crush on her

  242. CedarsDevil says:

Or how about Laura Branigan? Damn

  243. Sandeep1878 says:

    Happy Birthday, Booandman!

    Have a sexy day :P

  244. Atin says:

hi jeet, sandy, cedars – working from home and totally fed up! + its too hot to even get out.

Hope we get those signings wrapped up in good time for the pre-season. Nothing like building your confidence and settling in well before the season begins.

Kinda bored though with nothing happening in my red world.. :(

  245. CedarsDevil says:

    Atin

    You need a hug mate?

  246. Harish says:

    Happy b’day booandman.

Tony-Sorry to hear that. But no worry mate. Everything happens for good. I hope you get a better job.
MG- Get well soon mate. You along with Sir giles are the most inspiring posters.

  247. CedarsDevil says:

‘Raping shit’ My new favourite term……….Something I feel Kagawa will be doing on a regular basis next season

  248. Harish says:

SO yesterday it was hodgson and now cappelo who is blaming Rooney. Hell no one is blaming Van perise for having shit tournament . He had a more shit tournament than rooney yet media loves him (Sorry cedars for criticizing him).

  249. CedarsDevil says:

    Harish

No need to apologies pal………You are missing the key components here…

1 – Its the English media, so they will of course focus on England

2 – Rooney is a UNITED player, hence the ABU’s will be out in force

  250. CedarsDevil says:

Anyway Crapello is just another tit, used to like him though but his time with England brought out the worse in him……..The way he behaved in the 2010 WC was a mockery……..Cannot be that sad though, he shagged the FA for fucking millions, so good for him

  251. Atin says:

    Cedars -

    Not really :D

Just wish something would happen! Let’s get all the transfer shit talkers ala The Fly back.. makes for some very interesting times here

  252. Atin says:

Not just Capello. Hodgson too. Actually, quite liked the fellow. His teams were always well prepared and ready. I guess the 6 months at Anfield really scarred him for life. Nothing else you can say.

Did not measure up to the standards I quite expected of him. And knowing that he had a major endorsement from the Gaffer, makes it even confounding. Makes you wonder whether SAF had a hand in Rio not going. Probably wanted him fresh for the challenge ahead.

  253. Jeet says:

@Atin: Where in Gurgaon? Maybe we could meet up for a chilled one sometime?

  254. Atin says:

Let me just qualify my last line – I’m not saying that’s what SAF does nor am I raking up a conspiracy theory but just a doubt that crept up.

Damn I feel like Watson/ Donovan in Sherlock! Bloody Moriarty using my boredom to play the devil in my head!

  255. Union Jack says:

    @Tony Bee

A better job is just around the corner. sad news but it is just an opportunity in disguise.

  256. CedarsDevil says:

    Atin

What more do you need than Kagawa pal, that is enough to excite the fuck out of us…….Powell could be a decent future prospect as well………Vida will be back, Scholes is staying on, most of our lads are injury free after the Euros and we will bang title number 20 next season…..

    Happy days

  257. Atin says:

Hey Jeet – I work at Cybercity, Building 10B. Moved back to my parents place in Noida on account of barely making ends meet :D Call it the curse of the freshly graduated!

Will be there on tomorrow/friday. Let’s meet up somewhere there? Route 04, Striker, Vapour?

    :)

  258. Atin says:

Cedars – I agree on that mate. I’ve been watching videos of those guys for days on end. Ninja padwan with the slick movement and passing and Brit grit with a “just-give-me-the-fuckin-ball-and-I’ll-score” mastery. Really excited for the season ahead. I guess this is just the calm before the storm I’m hoping we rake up come August/ September. Quite a fixture list – Will have to be on our toes from the word go!

  259. Jeet says:

Funny small world, my wife works there…I think 10B or 10A, not sure…go there almost daily to drop her…will let you know how my Friday evening looks

  260. Atin says:

    Jeet

Haha – definitely. Drop me a mailer on atin15@gmail.com. Am logged on all the time. Will share nos etc.

  261. CedarsDevil says:

    Atin

Historically we are slow starters, always kick on after the new year………My gut feeling though is that this coming season we will be raping shit from the word go.

My only wish is that we stay relatively injury free, that was our handicap last season

  262. Sandeep1878 says:

Atin – working from home eh and without beer..obviously it will bore the shit outta you..:P

    ###

    by the way,

another hour and then i wont be able to post here till Sunday as i m heading to my friend’s wedding..

so i m gonna miss ROM and also the humor of Che Cedara ;)

    ##

If time permits let me think about meeting Prasan, provided he is free and if i m free :P

    ###

    Jeet,

good to hear that you are good at a game which has nothing to with balls ;) such as cricket, football etc etc :P

  263. Atin says:

The injuries are what worries me. If you guys remember the match against Bolton when TomC’s first senior year with us was blighted by that turdpack Davies, he had just put out a statement before the matchregarding the physical going over he was planning to give our 11. Managed to do so you fucking ass. Ruined a youngsters beginning to his career.

If that’s the attitude people are gonna carry into games against united, I fear not just for the season but also the impact on players’ careers.

  264. Atin says:

Sandy – Sad fact about having to stay at home :| piss off and do enjoy the next 4 days :D

  265. CedarsDevil says:

    Sandy Baby

Enjoy your time away mate…….Just get back to us in one piece

    Atin

I have been working from home for over 30 months now, I actually love it…….Just enjoy the freedom that comes with it…….As for that cunt Davies, you’ve just brought back awful memories…..Fucking cunting bastard was not even booked for that challenge…….Still I hope that next season we will see the best of Wee Thomas on a consistent basis

  266. Sandeep1878 says:

    Atin,

    I will enjoy mate :)

and take care of the hot weather….

  267. Sandeep1878 says:

    Cedars,

    I will pal,

and yeah when we talk about the cunts, Davies is right up there..

the similar happened with Danny Welbeck through another cunt De Jong..

wish we had Keano to knock these bastards to the ground in 2, 3 or possibly multiple pieces..

  268. CedarsDevil says:

How about when Gerrard elbowed Welbeck when he was on loan at Sunderland, then he gave the finger to the ref??? Nothing happened……..

Some say we are paranoid with all the ABU crap……….Like shit we are, its a fact

  269. Atin says:

These guys just need the keano treatment – 1 stare and they’d fall in line!

  270. CedarsDevil says:

I enjoy the Scholesey treatment more, fucker breaks them down and then looks innocent as fuck!

  271. Atin says:

Cedars – Now that you mention the freedom, just heading off to play on the Xbox with my younger brother :P

    Top Spin babay!

    laters!

Sandy – sure sure, The weather is like the Indian economy.. Going downhill and no one can read it properly.. Not the weatherman not the government.. ;)

  272. Sandeep1878 says:

    Cedars,

    yeah bang on..

and also the touch line ban Sir Alex recieved but at the same time other managers who talked fuck all were unpunished..

and they say FA always helps United..yeah my ass..

  273. CedarsDevil says:

Now where is the European/British brigade of RoM? Fuckers like Willie, Mike, King Eric etc should be up by now………..Lazy fucks probably dodging work, having a lay in…..

    Sandy Baby

Some think that the FA actually favour us!!!! Stupid fucking idiots

  274. Jeet says:

Atin – you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows ;)

  275. Sandeep1878 says:

    Okay folks, that is that..

    Catch you all on Sunday,

Keep it RED and keep it UNITED!!

Miss you ROM and ROM babes..

    cheers

    United!!

  276. CedarsDevil says:

Ah just remembered its Portugal v Spain tonight…………I do and in all honesty was Portugal to win, but that brings on the fucking curse……..Spain in the final it is then

  277. Harish says:

There are many Indians here in RoM including me :) . I think we all should meet somewhere.

  278. CedarsDevil says:

    Was??? Want fucking typos

Oh and Costas should be up as well, lazy fuck

  279. CedarsDevil says:

Many Indians on RoM? Fuck me sideways, there are over a billion of you buggers, you are frigging every where

  280. Harish says:

Cedars- Hahaha. You jealous bastard.

  281. CedarsDevil says:

    Harish

Behave and never refer to me as a bastard, even if you are just having a laugh…….There are many more words out there that you can use

  282. Harish says:

    Cedars

Ok dude chill. I didn’t expect you to get so worked up.

  283. CedarsDevil says:

    Harish

Worked up? Was only baiting you pal…….Do you think for one minute that I would be upset!! ha ha ha

I am a ‘chilled dude’ by nature..God I hate that lingo, anyway with time you will get to know me pal, not much offends me, so chill and relax, or should I say chillax?? ha ha

  284. Harish says:

Thank god I thought you were really angry. But great to see you are having fun. Reds= always united :)

  285. CedarsDevil says:

    Harish

Do not worry about it pal, not much offends me, especially on a faceless blog……..Unless you support leeds of course, then it becomes personal!!

  286. Harish says:

    Cedars

I have been following Manchester united for 10 years so don’t know the exact rivalry between leeds and us. But I know their fans are loud mouth cunts. But who cares about them, no one even knows where they are playing their football now. Hope they stay away from premiership for whole life.

  287. CedarsDevil says:

    Harish

I could write a whole book about the rivalry with leeds mate………It goes all the way back from the Munich crash……….Along with WBA fans, leeds fans were the innovators of songs mocking our dead……This is something you probably need to feel……….be a United fan at Elland Rd then you would understand it all….more than words could ever describe

  288. booandman says:

Thanks for the birthday messages guys, look who I share it with……http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Hft0_GjDrgU/TZZzfMztLhI/AAAAAAAAAtQ/2UjLez7Tw1o/s1600/supernanny-jo-frost.jpg Looks like I’ve been a VERY naughty boy…..;)

  289. wayne says:

To be fair to Capello,Rooney was having a go about him before the Italy game, like Samuel pointed out last week Rooney likes to run his mouth off.If he doesn’t deliver always going to be consequences

  290. WillieRedNut says:

To be fair to Capello…….I stopped reading after that…..

  291. wayne says:

    Your choice

  292. WillieRedNut says:

    It is.

  293. wayne says:

Doesn’t alter the fact Rooney started the smack then didn’t deliver

  294. WillieRedNut says:

    No one delivered.

  295. wayne says:

That’s the point before the game Rooney was saying England were good enough to win the Euros and it was Capellos fault for recent poor form,he leaves himself open.Just rather he keep quiet and prove it on the pitch, don’t have any problem with smack just walk the walk once its been said

  296. WillieRedNut says:

Hart and Gerrard talked shit too. Don’t see the problem with it. It’s England anyway, so i don’t see why anyone would be concerned. England have flopped at the last few tournaments, because they can’t keep the ball. Fuck all to do with what any player has to say. I wanna see Young, Rooney and Welbeck back playing well for United. When they play for the national team, it’s good if they do the business, but on a personal level. Doesn’t hurt their confidence either.

  297. wayne says:

Not concerned some were taking shots at Capello for having a go at Rooney just pointed out it was Rooney who started it all, didn’t realize Hart and Gerrard had been taking shots at Capello just read the Rooney quotes

  298. WillieRedNut says:

    You seem concerned. Fuck Capello.

  299. WillieRedNut says:

Capello said Rooney only understands Scottish. Why did he pick Rooney, then? Capello was found out at the last WC. Fuck him and his opinions. Great club manager, but flopped with England.

  300. CHIKO_MUFC_MONDLANE says:

How often does rooney appear in the english papers?

  301. CHIKO_MUFC_MONDLANE says:

Now I’m concerned as fuck, my typos aren’t appearing aren’t being published

  302. giggs12gerrard0000000000000000 says:

i think we could do a lot worse then sign gerrard. he had a cracking euros and is eager to win a league title and with the dippers being in the europa league, it could happen. Hes a marquee signing we’d probably to get on the cheap (over 30 now) a real sterling name. Hes the enforcer box/box player we need. If not him maybe xabi alonso as he’s meant to be missing england. Thoughts reds?

  303. wayne says:

Not concerned and don’t give a fuck about Capello, would rather Rooney not run his mouth off puts added pressure on himself then if he doesn’t deliver leaves himself open. Its no secret I think Rooney is a thick cunt and would be better just getting on with it
Can’t defend someone who started the smack in the first place, that’s all I’m saying

  304. WillieRedNut says:

Fucking right I’ll defend him. Against any cunt outside of United.

  305. wayne says:

Isn’t anything to defend in this case,Rooney would be better off trying to be more guarded instead of saying things without thinking but whatever

  306. United Till I Die says:

Soon after he joined I realised Capello was a dozy looking muppet and I said so. He’s the manager for fuck sake, so if he doubted Rooney could perform in South Africa he should’ve picked a different line up just like the Scotsman has done v Everton or whoever. On a different note thats what this country lacks imo A MANAGER WITH SOME BACKBONE. Everybody in blighty would back England if a man like Alex Ferguson managed the national side as there would be none of this back to back bollocks we’ve become accustom to with the national squad.

    Jus saying

  307. WillieRedNut says:

He was asked a question. He answered. Simple as that. This discussion is becoming boring. Agree to disagree.

  308. CedarsDevil says:

Looks like I missed me a bit of action here!

  309. wayne says:

Yeah and when he didn’t perform Capello had a shot back simple as that,I agree this has become boring because I’ve no fucking idea what grounds you’re defending Rooney on,he took a shot at Capello,Capello took a shot back end of story

  310. WillieRedNut says:

I’m defending him because he plays for United. Capello was also taking a shot at Fergie. Hence, the Scottish remark. Just for the record though? I’d defend any of our players when some cunt is making comments about them. Right, or wrong doesn’t come into it for me. Rooney was right about the lost in translation comment. Capello is right to respond.

  311. WillieRedNut says:

Just to be clear? It’s different where United are concerned. Not having postman Pat slamming Rooney. We all know why Rooney is below par with England. The quality around him is sub standard. At United he’s had the likes of Ronaldo, RVN, Keane, Nani, Berba and Valencia. And a far better manager of course. That’s it now for me. I’ve said my piece.

  312. fergie is the boss says:

many can point the fingers, but no one played well for england, gerrard does a few assists and he was sensational by others PPL’s logic. Hart was useless, he did not even looking like a huge presence in goal. The fact is? its classic england, get to the quater finals, get knocked out on pens etc, and blame someone

  313. wayne says:

Blind ignorance,I see no point in continuing then is there, hasn’t earned that from me and Capello was telling the truth Rooney has gone missing for England don’t see the scottish reference as a shot at Sir Alex at all
Anyway been a slice gotta go to work

  314. WillieRedNut says:

You don’t want to see it then. To be fair, I’d defend Rooney even if he ram shackled Capello’s woman’s ass. How do you like them apples?

  315. WillieRedNut says:

Only joking……maybe just a pecker on the lips!

  316. FletchTHEMAN says:

Capello is an educated man and probably a good man to listen to around a beer or at any other time. It is frankly disrespectful to say that something was lost in translation, which is what Rooney and a heck of a lot of reporters did to him.

I feel Capello was just giving Rooney, and the media, a friendly dig. And complimenting Fergie because Fergie gets Rooney to perform when others don’t seem to manage it. Uncle Roy included.

If you ask me, it is all about time. Do you give a man time to stand before you and listen while he talks.
Social media is really about inviting people who you would never allow into your home, the time to occupy your brain.

Sorry, I have a lot more time for intelligent people like Capello, who are worth listening to. Than for gits who are just being racist and anti foreign.

What Capello said was a joke, what Rooney said about Capello really wasn’t.

  317. WillieRedNut says:

I don’t think what Capello said about Rooney was a joke. It was a clearly intended retort to Rooney.

  318. CedarsDevil says:

    Fletch

Sorry pal, I respect you on here but that last post of yours was utterly daft………..Sorry for being straight forward, only way I know

  319. WillieRedNut says:

Tell me if I’m wrong here? The issue isn’t about what Capello said, what Rooney said, it’s about Rooney’s contract problems in 2010. If it was Young, or Welbeck involved instead of Rooney, no-one would be taking Capello’s side of it. Not going over old ground again. Will say this though, I’ll support Rooney while he’s still at United. I don’t respect the guy like I used too. If any of that is wrong, do tell.

  320. FletchTHEMAN says:

Cedars, Just saying that Brit media really turn things around that have no business giving a second thought.

We are in for Modric? Evidence: Fergie says Modric is a good player or was watching a game.
Capello slanders Rooney? Evidence: Capello turns around one of Rooneys slanders on Capello.

    It’s daft.

Go on then: Who are we going to buy this summer? Are you willing to put 1000quid on any of those predictions? Bet not.

  321. CedarsDevil says:

    Fletch

As I said and I am sure you know I have nothing buy respect for you here, so apologies for calling your post daft, got caught up in the heat of the moment…………However when it comes to our players I tend to be over protective and rightly so….

    Good day mate

  322. Denise Williams says:

King Eric the reason I brought Owen into this discussion is because he has been treated shamefully by the FA the same as Rio has. The truth is we are all sick to the back teeth of the FA and their corruption and hypocracy that we should all stand together on this. The way I feel is that until we do and make a united stand against this pathetic organisation nothing will ever get done. As for Capello and his snide comments about Rooney. Rooney did nothing wrong here he simply stated the truth. That is that Capello could not and did not communicate with the players and as usual Capello chose to behave like a spoiled toddler. Personally I loathe and detest Capello or Postman Pat as Alan Brazil calls him. One other thing is someone should tell that stupid idiot of a Capello that you win or lose as a team there should be no scapegoats. However you would need to tell our useless media that as well as they are just the same.
