Tottenham Boss Has Some Nerve Complaining About Penalties!

Remember this Harry?

How dare he rant and rave about penalties at Old Trafford when his team benefited from poor refereeing when they paid a visit last season.

United were denied a penalty in the opening minutes before Portsmouth were later awarded one, with our goalkeeper being sent off and Rio Ferdinand having to go in net!

What goes around comes around, Harry. You won the FA Cup thanks to shit refereeing at Old Trafford, so don’t get the hump now!

  2. corea says:

yes. the only trophy he’s won. and it was clear to see on Saturday.

  3. TonyBee says:

Just imagine, if they had got a similar penalty against us in the same game…. Redknapp, you is some sort of a prick to think you wouldn’t have taken what was given, you soft twat.

  4. Tony Starks says:

yeah nothing is ever Harry’s fault, he always finds someone else to blame, even his own players. I hate small time managers like that

  5. costas says:

This penalty nonsense has to stop by the media.Going to Boro that’s the last thing we will need. The way things are now,Ronaldo might get shot in the penalty box and nothing will be given.

  6. gotta hate tiny tears says:

but carrick did touch the ball to the side around gomes

mike riley just gave newcastle a corner that shouldnt of been now if newcastle had of scored from that will people still be talkin and moaning about it on wednesday?

  7. Shush says:

Time to move on, Like Harry said we will be causing problems for the top four next season. Will get two more players to fill in the left hand side LB,LW Karma is on it’s way!!!

  8. Scott the Red says:

Shush – you sound like a bloody scouser! It’s always next year for your lot lol.

  9. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    next years our year

like the last 3 fuckin years

  10. Shush says:

If this is what we can do from religation, just try and think what we could do from the start of next season

  11. costas says:

Harry can change Tottenham’s fortunes but breaking into the top 4 is very difficult.Villa are proof of that.

  12. Kings says:

Shush – don’t talk shit you doughnut. You will never break into the top 4, you had your chance in the 2005/06 season, but your arseholes fell out on the last day at West Ham. You’re just a cup side, and not a good one at that.

  13. anal bleeding says:

thats not a penalty at all what was the portsmouth defender supposed to do run away from the ball?

  14. Shush says:

Costas so true but if Harry gets the right boy’s for the left then fingers crossed. Harry has proven in the pased that he buy’s well.

  15. corea says:

    costas

with this coach they won’t do it. no way. top 7 the best they can get.

  16. Scott the Red says:

Anal – I guess that’s the point. He DID run away from the ball. He ran in to Ronaldo, making no attempt to play the ball. You can see can’t you? You can see that he is running in the opposite direction to the ball right?

  17. bchilds says:

I hear Craig Burley is STILL banging on about the penalty at OT during his commentary on the Newcastle vs Portsmouth match – get over it Craig!

  18. wiley says:

I don’t understand the commotion. It’s not like the penalty was the 3rd goal in a 3-2 comeback. It’s the 1st goal is a 5 goal fucking rout. Face it Harry, face it JJ, face it Spurs, you’re just not good enough.

  21. corea says:

    first minute.
you have to be very insistent to win this kind of games.
Say “thank you” Harry. You will enjoy your FA Cup title after you retire from football.

  22. Trevor says:

Big Teams will always get more penalties than lower teams!

    Why? 2 Reasons!

    1st Reason

If any of these teams – Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea

are playing teams lower than 6th place, could even be as high as 5th place! they all will be attacking for 70% of the game! They will be in the opposing penalty areas 80% more times than the opposition! So its a law of averages!

More time in your opponants penalty area = higher chance of a penalty!

    2nd Reason!

Higher Skill by the Bigger teams! Look at United! We all know them well

Quick or Tricky Players = Rooney – Ronaldo – Giggs – Park – Tevez
Creative Players to pick out a through ball! – Scholes – Carrick – Giggs – Rooney – Berbatov

Chelsea – Quick or Tricky Players – Drogba – Anelka – Kalu – Lamps – Moldova
Creative Players to Pick out a through ball – Lamps – Ballack – Essien

I dont think many can argue the above cases! Anyone any better ideas then id love to hear them!

I did see an intersting statistic that might be worth a flutter in the bookies!

In the past 6-7 seasons where a ref was told he was taking charge of the Facup final he then proceeded to give penalties to the home team of his next premiership game! And they where also not top 4 teams!

  23. monkeygun says:

Thought this video might intrest you scott.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV9-BzaXlsU

Shame the reporters didn’t ask for ‘arries opinion on that.

  24. davspurs says:

clever trevor these are stastitics carrick last game of the season spurs on the brink of getting into the G4 and we get the wild shites carrick the fittest at the club runs to the touch line and begs to come of the first one to shit it down the moterway fergie is getting his tart i meen is secretary to get carricks contract ready because spurs have blown the champs league .It turns out michael whas carring the bug ? Hang on it gets worse next year we have a 10 million bulgarian risk after eight games he shows us what he can do and the rest is history ,after we win the cup he stops playing and it carries on till we are sinking like the titanic .FERGIE like the don highjacks berbaiamov on a private runnway bundles him i a limo and hides him in his vatican old trafford . hang on then robbie tells spurs fuck this iam going to my boyhood team celtic fuck i meen liverpool .and we have just recovered and thank god we are not on 3o points .So fogive us spurs fans for having a rant we all now every team gets a bad ref and somtimes like mr webb a good ref .so leave us alone and pick on arsenal .

  25. BrisbaneRed says:

Now that some of the nonsense about THAT penalty has started to die down, it can be admitted that referee Webb DID have a bad game. Two debatable points but only one being scrutinised by the media. Perhaps Webb gave the penalty to make up for his error in not sending off Palasius. Spurs should have been down to 10 men then – and without any complaints. To say that Spurs were robbed, as Harry is saying, is stupid. No one can say with any certainty that it was a penalty, or it wasn’t. The ref. made his judgment based on what he thought he saw – OK so he made a mistake. But how can Harry account for the other 4 goals?. I think Harry is nit-picking to cover up the deficiencies in his team’s defence. Spurs were well beaten, penalty or not. Harry should never forget that he got his FA Cup winners medal only because of a ref’s mistake at OT.

  26. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    monkeygun thats a fantastic point

that video gets harder and harder to watch every time

  27. costas says:

Thanx monkeygun.Ronaldo’s skills saved his career there. If someone like Carrick was in his place,i shatter to think what might have happened. And i stress this again. At Boro it will get worse.

  28. jcolas says:

If keane were still here, next time we would play spurs Plasicos would have studs in his knee.

  29. costas says:

If he was still breathing jcolas.

  30. Gibbs says:

At least I don`t focus on things that happened a year or two ago, and will admit that Spurs were robbeb there, and Webb saved us…Again. :-D

The prem is coming home! again… :-D

    I love you Howard Webb!!!

The best ref in England! The whole world actually!

  31. King Eric says:

Lighten up about the Boro game Costas. I know we have a history of struggling up there but not this time , not at this stage in the season, we will be fine on Saturday. Must admit though hate these early kick offs , we always seem to play shite. I am as bad as you Costas!

Off topic – Rafael has signed a 2 year extension keeping him at United till 2013. Excellent news.

  32. oldun says:

Well, this site’s comments today have reached a new level in infantilee rants and childish prejudices. The only fact has come from Dermot Gallaher who has said that Webb has admitted he got it wrong. Having seen it he said he would not have given it as now he can see Gomes got his hand to the ball before contact with Carrick and no foull was committed. Gallaher said that some people are saying that as Carrick went over Gomes afterwards iut was a penalty. He further added that once a player has made contact with the ball any subsequent contact is not a foul. If that was the case 95%+ of tackles would be a foul. Obviously Webb was influenced by the crowd. Like it or not the penalty never was.

  33. costas says:

It’s not our form i am worried about King Eric.If we go to Boro with Rio and Vida fit(something we didn’t have last year there) we should get the 3 points. What worries me is this neverending debating about United getting decisions. We weren’t even the most favoured team in the weekend! Now every referee will play with an added pressure and players like Pogatetz must have taken heart from the unpunished Palacios tackle.

Rafael did sign on and that’s great.I hope his brother won’t be far behind.

  34. costas says:

Oldun was the Palacios tackle a red card, yes or no?Did Liverpool’s first goal come from a Mascherano dive? Did he second come from a Lucas handball? Why is this penalty so scrutinized? Why didn’t anyone question the 7 minutes of added time he gave Liverpool?

  35. Jim says:

ManU gets a disproportionate number of bad penalties at Old Trafford. Saying anything to the contrary is delusional.

  36. Gunner says:

To all the big club gets all the penalties cryers –

Play outside your penalty box to start with you numb nuts

  37. ROME_09 says:

apparently so not just the independent reporting on it either. To be honest Nani his flashes of brilliance are way too few and far between. Looks like Fergie has lost the faith in him and when that happens we all know how its gonna turn out. Would have been nice to have another Ronaldo story but Nani is just not in the same league. Not going to be losing any sleep over it.

  38. costas says:

Just hate when that happens though.Ruud left the pitch and frustration was growing there for a while but this came out of nowhere. If it has happened, then it won’t bode well for him.I think that Ronaldo,Anderson and Nani have struggled without Queiroz’s influence. But while the first two have started turning the corner, Nani never did that.If Inter are interested in him, then we could cut a deal that would be beneficial to us.

  39. JackBlack says:

This is a silly, hypocritical article

As a Man Utd fan, I get embarrassed by Fergie perpetually mouthing off about decisions that go against us (like the penalty that wasn’t given against Everton) when the truth is that, overall, we probably get more than our fair share of bad decisions in our favour. I wish that Fergie (and the players) would rise above it.

So how can we have a pop at Harry Redknapp for doing exactly the same thing?

  40. Firestarter says:

No matter what you lot say.
We all always love you for your love triangle with Robbie Keane and Liverpool.

    :-D

  41. wazza says:

Fergie has actually come out & accepted it was not a penalty on sat.redknapp never did that last year in the above incident.Webb must have eagle eyes to spot Gomes’ slightest of touch to the ball.as harry says the 4th official should be watching replays on the sidelines & help the ref’s.its going to create even more confusion & there will be no momentum to the matches.may be like in tennis, each captain can be given 1 appeal per half for review.the so called controversial decisions in a match can be avoided.

  42. Sash Sylvarre says:

On Nani, I really hope he doesn’t go. He’s had a bad season, but his talent and brilliance is undeniable. What he needs is consistency, and I hope they can help him work on it during preseason.

  43. Scott the Red says:

JackBlack – I struggle to believe that anyone, most of all a United fan, would describe Ferguson’s reaction to the penalty we should have had against Everton as “mouthing off”. Considering that decision cost us a place in the FA Cup final as well, all Ferguson did was mention it. He didn’t come out, like Redknapp, saying we definitely wouldn’t have lost if we’d been awarded that penalty and the whole game changed because we weren’t awarded one.

  44. Bob Koh says:

Can Webb sue Harry & the media for what was said?

  45. costas says:

Webb actually apologised proving that in modern football, balls are hard to find.

  46. King Eric says:

    Jack Black – YSB?
