Tottenham To Give Campbell Back Next Summer

The Dimitar Berbatov transfer worked out fairly well for United in the end. We didn’t get him for the price we wanted, but we got him, and that’s all that matters now. As a bonus, we also got to loan out Frazier Campbell to Spurs, who wouldn’t get a look in at United this year, where he gets Premiership and European experience, result.

Spurs fans were on to a rumour that a permanent deal had been done for the young striker, however Sir Alex Ferguson has today confirmed that Campbell will definitely be returning to United next season.

“Fraizer will come back here, there is no question about that,” said the United boss. “The idea for him was to get some experience, so it has been good for him in that respect. He has produced some fantastic performances for Tottenham and I am delighted for the boy because he is going to be a good player. His future is here.”

So, assuming Carlito and Ronaldo stay beyond next Summer, Frazier’s gonna fit in where, exactly?

I get more and more pessimistic about a permanent transfer for Tevez as the days go by and news like this is why …

I’d give him back in January – he brings nothing to the side and his performances are nothing short of average, however if we don’t sign at least 2 strikers in Jan i expect Harry will keep hold of him just in case

  6. EastStandManc says:

I wouldn’t say he’s brought nothing to your side; OK, so the number of goals scored isn’t commensurate with the performances he’s put in, but his work ethic is fantastic and he provided you with the hustle and grind Harry wanted when he first arrived at the club, contributing to some decent team performances. He blows hot and cold, but that’s to be expected from a young striker who’s learning, but with maturity you’ll begin to see more performances like the one against the ‘dippers in the Mickey Mouse cup and fewer average performances.

Let’s face it, had he come through the Spurs academy, you’d be saying he had a bright future. Good luck getting rid of Pavlyuchenko for £15m, BTW!

EastMancStand – actually, today Fraizer Campbell would have provided an alternative to the “go walkabout” that seemed to be the way that both Berbatov and Tevez approached their roles as “center forwards”.

But, I do get the general thrust of your question – if Campbell can’t get ahead of Pav or Bent then who would imagine that he would get a game ahead of the current strikers ? My guess is that he wouldn’t get a sniff from SAF, who might try to mollify him with kind words but who would strictly ration his playing time.

Permanent deal my a$$, isn’t this coming from the same fans that said Levy had a secret dossier?
