The decision sucks almost as much as the sending off. I really feel for Fletch, just when supporters are waking up to what a good player he is, and why Fergie rates him so highly.It’s a footballing tragedy for him, which he’s taken on the chin with real dignity. Let’s hope for all the obvious reasons he gets lots more CL Finals to play in. Another thing I like about him is the level-headed way he talks, never bragging, always keeping things in perspective, acutely aware that United have not won League or CL yet, so now is not the time to celebrate or start disrespecting opponents. Patrice, take a leaf out of Darren’s book.

to be honest, i never expected them to rescind the card as it wouldnt really have been right to change the rules mid-competition, but at the very least they could admit that the ref was wrong and that their system is flawed, and that an appeals process will be introduced (for our defence of the trophy!) next season.

It’s bad enough that the card was upheld, but did you read the rationale behind it?

“In reaching its decision, the Control and Disciplinary Body concluded (i) that the protests had not been submitted within the required 24-hour deadline of a match for filing protests – as specified in the disciplinary regulations – and (ii) that even if they had been admitted they would have been rejected as unfounded as there were no grounds for contesting the referees’ original decisions.”

What the fuck? You missed the deadline, but you couldn’t protest anyway? Bullshit! Talk about covering your ass with triplicate paperwork!

Yeah that would suck really bad if someone charged with a crime could appeal the charge. A justice system that allowed that would be pretty flawed!

funny – that’s not what they said the year the scousers won it but finshed 5th.
the rules stated the winners of the trophy didnt qualify for the next years competition. and FSW was resting players week in week out – think they lost to sunderland in the run in and everton snuck fourth.

by the rules, then,liverpool shouldnt have been in the competition the next year – but brian fucking barwick -scouser fucker that he is, bleated on and on about how unfair it was

UEFA were only too happy to change the rules then – fuckin cunts!!!

@wazza- no they are still living in the 16′th century.
Anyways a big blow to us although we couldn’t expect UEFA to do anything as long as platini is there. Really hope that anyone who comes in his place scores the winner or dictates the play so that UEFA can piss on themselves afterwards.

This has been Flech’s best season for us and he’s changed my mind about him, its a disgrace that he will not be able to play in the final…Oh well Fletch, we will be there again next season son.

We represented UEFA in Japan and lost VIdic cheers Fifa but also thanks for the help Platini arsehole…They hate us get over it….UNITED
