Player of the season: Cameron Borthwick-Jackson
The modest lad from Urmston has risen up through the club and burst onto the scene this season. When asked about the award he said “I don’t really get nervous, I block the crowd out really and get on with the game, it’s what you’re paid to do.” It was a public vote and Borthwick-Jackson has done superby for the first-team where as James Weir’s performances have been purely in the under-21 side so you can see why CBJ won it. Nevertheless the hyphenated engraving is more than deserving on this illustrious award. Runners Up: James Weir & Donald Love
Goalkeeper of the season: Joel Pereira
Joel has put in some excellent performances in goal throughout the season and even captained the side in James Weir’s absence. Keeping 5 clean sheets this season he has produced some impressive saves and improved upon his distribution and dominance in the box. Still a little rough around the edges as a few misjudgments have cost goals, but most importantly the shot-stopping is there, everything else can be taught. Runner Up: Sam Johnstone
Defender of the season: Ro-Shaun Williams
The Fletcher Moss coach who was interviewed following Rashford’s emergence said the next best thing at United is Ro-Shaun Williams. It’s hard to disagree, blessed with sheer pace and an intelligent approach to defending which is reminiscent of Rio Ferdinand. Williams has performed alongside many other centre-backs this season but has always maintained a strong link with everyone around him. Certain to make his first-team debut in the not too distant future. Runner Up: Joe Riley
Midfielder of the season: James Weir
Taken the captain’s armband and made it his own with some professional and match-winning performances. Not naturally a midfielder Weir has found himself on the right-wing a lot of the season, but has also impressed in a central role or even up front. Won so many games for the side and pulled the team out of a rut with his patient approach and endeavour, which reflect a true Warren Joyce type of player. Runner Up: Matty Willock
Forward of the season: Andreas Pereira
Pereira has been the focal point of the team and clearly has the most natural talent within the side. His eagerness to be on the ball and desire to get forward and create chances has had such a positive impact on the side. Pereira’s form dipped a bit late on into the season but throughout the season he has so often run the game, more often than not man of the match, with 6 goals and 4 assists this season. Runner Up: Will Keane
Loanee of the season: Ashley Fletcher [Barnsley]

— United Youth (@United_U21) May 2, 2016
The Yorkshire born striker has thrived across the Pennines, scoring 7 goals in 10 starts for the Tykes. His most important one came at Wembley scoring in Barnsley’s 3-2 triumph over Oxford to win the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. Fletcher could yet build on his cult hero status at Oakwell by helping Barnsley sneak into the League 1 play-offs. Runner Up: James Wilson [Brighton]
First-team player of the season: Marcus Rashford
The explosive impact Rashford has had this season is just astonishing. His resurgence has helped keep the identity of the club, showing the right attitude mixed with a certain Mancunian arrogance of the pitch. A derby-day winner at the Etihad followed by a day of school surely has to be the highlight of the season and is another story to add to the illustrious academy products throughout the history of the club. Runner Up: Cameron Borthwick-Jackson
Brightest future: Timothy Fosu-Mensah
As soon as Fosu-Mensah joined from Ajax there was a buzz about him on every level throughout the club. His incredible versatility and physicality has seen him rise to the first-team this season. He clearly has what it takes, the talent is there and he isn’t afraid to get stuck in which is what the team needs. Timothy is still learning the game and is yet to find his strongest position, but with more appearances on the horizon for the Dutchman he has the capability to become a United great. Runner Up: Marcus Rashford
Top goalscorer: Will Keane [10]
Returning from a pretty dire loan spell at Preston North End which saw him score 1 goal in 20 appearances. Keane returned to the side to notch 10 goals in 8 appearances as he certainly made a staked his claim and propelled United to the title this season which earned himself another crack at the first-team, but was unfortunately injured against Shrewsbury. Five goals against Norwich and a hat-trick against Reading are the most notable performances from Keane in a great comeback season for the striker. Runners Up: James Weir & Andreas Pereira [6]
Most assists: Andreas Pereira and Will Keane [4]
Pereira is someone who enjoys assisting goals rather than scoring them, mix that with his set-piece ability and it is hardly surprising to see his name here. Will Keane is also up there with 4 assists, most coming from hold up play, including an expert lay-off for Rothwell’s goal against City. Add this to his 10 goals this term and you can see how much of a contribution he has made to the title win despite being injured later on in the season. Runners Up: Sean Goss, Guillermo Varela & Matty Willock [3]
Most clean sheets: Joel Pereira [5]
Joel has really had to earn some of his clean sheets this season, with such a changed defence in front of him it was difficult to get a run together. Most notable was the 1-0 defeat of City in February, Pereira made a series of saves to thwart the sky-blue’s efforts. Runner Up: Sam Johnstone [3]
Most appearances: James Weir [21]
Weir is clearly a favourite of Warren Joyce and has such an important role within the side, providing a level head mixed with skill and a knack of helping the team with vital goals throughout the campaign. Runner Up: Devonte Redmond [13(6)]
Most first team appearances: Jesse Lingard [17 (5)]
After accumulating a number of loan moves and at 23, it looked like Jesse’s career at United was never going to happen, until a remarkable turnaround this season. After coming off the bench at Everton in October Jesse never looked back, could improve his finishing to add a few more goals to his game but the work ethic of the Warrington lad has caused problems for most sides. Has linked up excellently with Rashford and looks to be a great partnership for the future of Manchester United. Runner Up: Marcus Rashford [14]
Most first team goals: Marcus Rashford [7]
A complete blockbuster start to his United career, two against Midtjylland on his full debut, then two more in a 3-2 victory to end Arsenal’s title aspirations. “Haha. Yeah. Same as Europa.” was the 18-year olds humble response. The Schoolboy went on to score winners against City and Aston Villa. One of his finest efforts came in the FA Cup with a deadlock in the replay at Upton Park was blown wide open as Rashford feinted left and then placed the ball into the top corner, kissing the crossbar as it went in. As I am writing this there is still time for Rashford to add to his tally before the season ends, maybe even help United lift the cup at Wembley. Runner Up: Jesse Lingard [5]
Goal of the season: Will Keane (4th) v Norwich
With a hat-trick already to his name Keane showed no remorse to the dismal Norwich side. Picking the ball up on the wing, the Stockport striker played a one-two with James Weir, then after beating two defenders he produced a lavish scooping chip over the helpless keeper. It highlighted just how confident Keane was feeling during his emphatic scoring streak after Christmas. Runner Up: Andreas Pereira (1st) v Tottenham
Match of the season: United 7-0 Norwich
Having not missed a first-team match at home this season, this was one of the most emphatic at Old Trafford. The talents of Memphis and Pereira combined with the confidence and ruthlessness of an in form Will Keane caused all sorts of problems for a sorry Norwich side. Including the goal of the season, 5 goals from Will Keane, a hat-trick of assists from Memphis and Fosu-Mensah’s first goal at under-21 level. Runner Up: United 6-1 Leicester
Save of the season: Dean Henderson v Rochdale
Despite only making 2 appearances between the sticks this season, it was all he needed to produce an impossible save. With the Rochdale striker latching onto a knocked down header he volleyed it goal-wards from 6 yards out. Only for Henderson to somehow arch his back to gymnast like proportions and reach out a glove to parry it away. He went on to keep a clean sheet in the match but unfortunately United lost on penalties. Runner Up: Joel Pereira v City
Biggest attendance: Chelsea H [9,257]
A crowd of just under 10,000 saw the reds snatch an important draw against a strong Chelsea side at Old Trafford in early April. The attendance figure was similar to that of League 1 crowds in an impressive turnout to see the side push for the title. Runner Up: Norwich H [6,132]
