This episode stank of agent and player greed, but the on going court case against Morgan Andersen for possible fraud in contract forgery adds another twist. Greed all around. Best we cashed out and have nothing more to do with it as court case waste time and money and at the end even if we do win, we are stuck with a player who isn’t likely to be happy with us, and still will be receiving threats.

That Chelsea paid up was admission enough.

People tend to forget another bit of Kenyon stupidity — he couldn’t shell out the 4mn quid needed to get Di Canio in 2002. I’m convinced with him in the squad, we would’ve won the Champions League that season instead of being knocked out by Leverkusen on away goals.

I agree with badger – too bad about Essien.

Mikel is a real talent and he would very nicely complement Anderson but, hey, if we got Mikel then Anderson might have not been considered.

The twelve million quid was recycled nicely – Evra/VIdic, or whatever.

It will be very interesting to see what happens with this court case.

The whole affair stunk so bad.
United should have stuck it out through the courts and not let chelsea and john shittu get away with whatever they got away with

Man Utd couldnt really have put their foot down for two reasons I can see;

1) Would they want an unhappy player – whatever happened in the intervening days, and if threats had been carried out a seriously injured or murdered player?

2) The fact that Utd (to the outside world) might have been seen as forcing the player to fulfil his contract – wouldnt have been good for them or Mikel
