  12. Costas says:

    @MG

Unless we sign Villa, Neymar or Heskey. :D

Will there be a parade? I’m just thinking City got 100,000, we can beat that

  17. Utd4life says:

    Congratulations to the Lads.

Elite Development Squad. LOL. What I saw was far from elite.

  18. Utd4life says:

How good will a midfield of Petrucci, Tunnicliffe and Pogba (hoping he stays) be in a couple of years time?? These lads should be ready for 1st team in 2 years time. Special mention to Will Keane. The lad knows how to find the back of the net. If he can improve his 1st touch and bulk up a bit more then we got ourselves one hell of a striker.

  19. Joffrey Baratheon says:

@Fred: let is rest mate no matter how painful it might be. What’s done is done we can’t change that now. The blue touch paper is well and truly lit now and United will be bounce back pal. We needed a challenge again and we’ve got one. Fergie and United thrive on challenges.

  20. Fred says:

    BLUE touch paper?

  21. MG says:

I need a challenge and hey can’t wait for the city bashing to start for next season ;)

    Goodnight Manchester United

Pogba smiling in the picture yet he’s messing the club about as wel. Surely if he has sign for juve then why would he be picked again?

  23. Fred says:

Same reason Mancini kept picking Tevez I guess.

  24. cubs says:

I find my touch screen to be touchy.

  25. Pebblesmeller says:

Tunnicliffe and Brady seemed to have done well on their loan spells. Are they 1st team material?
I won’t believe that Pogba is gone until it is announced on the club website. Apparently, his agent is back from Brazil this weekend and things should be sorted over then.
To be honest, I believe if there is not some form of a clear-out in the midfield area over the summer, i.e. Park and Anderson gone, Pogba will go. Particularly with Scholes and Giggs extending their stay for next season.

  26. Dazbomber says:

Samuel – United WE Stand-pass carying out Pogba

  27. cubs says:

Awesome the lads can play. Who will step up next year? Who is on SAF shoping list? Who will be on the 25 man squad next year? Competition at all 11 spots. No job is safe. That is where SAF will start.

  28. samuel - united WE stand says:

Daz – what do you mean?, i didn’t get that.

  31. slim says:

no need to flap about with young Keane. he’d ready to be considered for 1st team footie – well talent wise. looks and sounds a decent young man too, RED to the core..

I hope hes in contention next season. Owens off and Berba could swing either way. never hurt to have another young home grown talent up the pitch

  60. cubs says:

    See you were on Cyprus?

  61. CedarsDevil says:

Stomach has a few words in Lebanese, nothing funny though! Yes I was in Cyprus, visiting my mum…Good times!

  62. cubs says:

Summer is hope filled time for my glass half full self. SAF has his business all but done. He went to recruit who he wants, and sent smoke singles as well. When he says business is done it is. Until then, I live on a heightened sense of a magical free flowing attack of floating fractal triangles of advantage.

  63. cubs says:

    Mums are the best!

  64. Dave Malaysia says:

Well done Reserves! Well done Warren Joyce!

Warren is a long time and one of our best youth coaches. Was sent once to manage Royal Antwerp.

Now Reserve Team manager, hes typical United . Well done Warren!

Ole Solsjaer, said he wanted to build Molde, like United, he is taking them to Europe this season,

he want his kids to grow up in Norway, this teen years.

So why wud he put all his plans in the toilet and go to Villa?

He continues to do well, and will have job offers every season, when he is ready in a few years time , after he has built Molde to something sustainable , then he will be ready.

Pep Guardaila to liverpool? There will be an angry mob in Barca , catalonia.
He said he wanted to take a sabbatical, rest ,at least a year.

So why wud he go to pool? Unless some prearranged deal?
    Highly unlikely.

Martinez, shud avoid Villa. If they played today , Wigan wud probaly win.

After all the huffing and puffing , finally the wigan team is on the right track. The challenge for them is to hold on to thier main players , start next season on the same level as they finished 2011/12.

Only jobs like pool or chelsea or bigger clubs shud atrract him.

But if he goes to pool, its a whole different level of pressure, different challenge. It will be the next step for him, no idea how he will do.

So Fabio, Deschamps and Blanc are names for chelsea and pool.

Hope Blanc continues with his france job. The other 2 well no idea how they will fare.

My advice to Villa is ,watch the west ham vs blackpool playoff game. Sign the manager that stays in the championship.

Big Sam is ideal for them. Ian Holloway, he can only take blackpool so far, he is the kind of man to rejuvanate villa.

Either man wud be right for Villa.

As for u Roy Hodgson, why do I get the same feeling of doom looking at him and the england team?

Rio is one of the best, he can play the first and third game for england and make a huge difference.

U just srewed up Roy! Somethingvery out of place with this team of yours.

Well , Manutd will reap the benefits, players well rested and feeling pissed off, will make them violently angry to win next season.

  65. Dave Malaysia says:

And Wigan shud sign Michael Owen on a free , he wud be ideal for them.

  66. cubs says:

Big news ahead. RoM will rock with WhatTheFuck!

  67. Dave Malaysia says:

@cubs: wud that be Hazard signing for us or u having a orgasm?

  68. cubs says:

    HI David!

  69. ed says:

“The truth they do not want you to know at Old Trafford is that in the last five years United’s net spend on transfers is a mere £56.9m. Or to put it another way, less than Aston Villa, with £68.2m, Sunderland’s £62.7m and Stoke’s £61.2m. City have spent £437.1m, Chelsea £144.9m, Liverpool £84m and Spurs £76m.”

  70. Dave Malaysia says:

@ed: Yes , the financial situation , we have coped as well as we can due to the prudent management of David Gill and Fergie.

Or do u prefer we spend like the other clubs?

No defending the glazers but we are on the right track to get rid of the debt.

And all this shit about United supporters not wanting to know the truth about whats goin on,is just bullshit!

  71. cubs says:

    Not right now dave.

  72. ed says:

    Dave,

I agree about the brilliance of Fergie keeping us competitive.

However, we aren’t on the right track to get rid of the debt. We are losing vast sums of money paying off just interest and not even getting into the principal.

Spend like the other clubs, you mean Stoke and Sunderland? Er, yes. It would be nice to spend a bit more actually.

  73. cubs says:

    Ribbs are done!

  74. Dave Malaysia says:

    @cubs: ru really zibbie?

@ed: We cant do anything about the takeover. Will always be grateful to Must and other groups for fighting to save the club.

And I am sure like all of us u were shaking in yr boots, to see the club go from a hard fought debt free club , change overnight to 800 million in debt club.

I am hugely impressed that United have been so brilliant in managing the transfers so far.

We have spent but contraed that with sales. And the good fortune of Ronaldos 80 mil .

Am waiting for the spore IPO . Clear everything right away. 7 years after the takeover.

Now I will say this and u might puke but I want the Glazers after they clear the debt, and only after they do that

I want them to stay and continue to let Gill and Fergie get on with managing the club right.

I dont want to go thru another takeover and I dont want sugar daddies like Roman or Abu dhabi.

    I might go postal.

  75. cubs says:

    Pork far rocks!

  76. cubs says:

    Yes dave.

  77. Wakey says:

    @FletchTHEMAN

The reporting on the finacial figures isn’t great journalism really as the fall in cash reserves is largely due to buying some of the bonds back and land purchases around Old Trafford.

Both are positive steps. With the bonds they have done what has been done the last couple of years and the money set aside for a player that SAF hasn’t spent has been used to decrease the interest payments rather than sit in the bank doing nothing. They have now bought back almost 100mill worth of the bonds which I believe means saving nearly 9mill a year in interest. Buying land around Old Trafford is good because it gives the club scope to to improve the ground and the facilities around it which can then increase revenue. Not sure where the land was that is purchased but it could be a sign that one of the stands may be getting an expansion.

I’ve said it before but it’s something they should have done sooner. The only reason for the cash reserve we had could have been it was set aside for transfers. When SAF didn’t spend it all they should have been using some of it to buy the debt back. Better it’s being put to work than sitting inthe bank losing value as interest rates have been so low.

As for revenues they were aways going to take a dip, with no CL football and not that much Europa League either (and reduced prices for these EL games) and an early exit from the FA cup then ticket revenue was going to take a hit. Also this account quarter is always weak for all clubs. Most of their revenue up comes earlier inthe season and cash reserves have often been drained. As the PLC this is when the club would either be in debt each year or on the edge of being so as Season ticket money and Spojsor money is paid at the start of the season not the end.

Plus we have the IPO which does look like it will be sorted by the end of 2012 which will generate enough to wipe most if not all the debt out..

  78. Wakey says:

    @ed

We have been spending more than Stoke and Vila. It’s just with the Glazers in change we have become a lot more hard nosed when it comes to selling players than we were under the PLC and what’s wrong with that? We he managed to be on of the biggest spenders summer while keeping net spend low which is good business.

  79. Gentle says:

Its a shame that we are loosing a lot paying interest bt I believe the IPO wil clear everything. Glazers are still good and I want them to carry on and not these daddys that will sack if no trophy or good football

  80. dannysoya LOVES SIAN MASSEY says:

LOL did they seriously call that crapshoot an “elite development squad”? AHAHAHAHA Manchester City, the gift that just keeps on giving.

  81. wiuru says:

Ive read a report earlier ,Citeh are claiming we were responsible for a pitch invasion twice at this game . by as many as 100 fans . God they really are climbing on their non existant moral high horse !

  82. Dave Malaysia says:

    @Wakey: Agreed. Both 2.53 and 3.00.

@dannysoya loves ………………: how about tevez , will he stop giving?

they had a brilliant academy or youth system, almost one kid every year good enough to compete for the first team,

Then they got rid of many, replaced with expensive signings. Then did the same with thier youth system,

@danny loves…………. Do you remember the other world domination club doing the same , chelsea? the end product not as they expected.

youth developement is an art form . money helps but ………

  83. Dave Malaysia says:

@wiuru : Damm, that was us? I thot it was thier nutters, after doing the poznan.

Check with @James21, he cud be one of the mob bosses, bet he might have pictures.

By the way @CedarsDevil must be praying RVP comes to United, What an orgasm he will have!

  84. Corea says:

Reading that Citeh also in contention to sign Kagawa. Just to up the price a little.
Chelsea, Arsenal also interested. Maybe Arsenal is the place for him to “take on challenges” ? :)

  85. Corea says:

At least gunners have the cash to sign him.

  86. Costas says:

Cash reserve is down to 26 million hey? That should buy us 3-4 Bebes.

    Rejoice!

  87. dazbomber says:

    Man City not Developing Squad.

  88. Dave Malaysia says:

@Corea and @ Costas: I bet u cold beers and kebabs, our club will surprise u this summer. Those cash figures do not show the whole picture.

This is going to be an interesting summer.

Costas ,mate good luck with June elections.

  89. Dave Malaysia says:

    @dazbomber: hows the aquaris doin?

  90. Corea says:

Who cares if they are not)) As Ji said Kagawa has experience in Europe that’s what exactly Citeh need :-D
Still not sure why Madrid aren’t already in contention. Just to pair him with Sahin.

  91. Costas says:

    @Dave

We’ll see. But something tells me someone will have to be sold for a hefty amount of cash if we are going to spend a significant amount on transfers.

  92. Costas says:

    @Dave

Oh and thanks about the elections. I’ll probably sit that one out though. I voted 2 weeks ago and the whole thing has turned into a farce. It’s like having to choose between a bunch of drones.

  93. Panderi says:

That was the first reserve game I have seen (Thank you Albert Ross for the link :) ) and boy was I glad I stayed up watching it. A first step in the long healing process after last sunday..

Have to say was a little disappointed with Tunni yesterday. I know how highly he is rated, made some decent interceptions and tackles, but a few sloppy passes crept in and gave away possession in midfield. Not to mention that tackle for which he should have seen red(The referee was absolutely shite, but expected when you see the morons refereeing in the premier league.) Don’t think he is ready for the first team but the potential is definitely there and another loan spell, probably somewhere like Wigan should do him good.

Surprised to see Pogba starting, had a decent game too, thought he’d be having his medical in Turin by now. Not sure he’d be considered if he was surely leaving but even if he does stay who is to say he won’t start “thinking” and decide to fuck off in a couple of years?

Michael Keane was a rock in defense. Lingard and Petrucci were also decent. Will Keane though looked the real fucking deal. Had thought he’d be more of a target man in the box or poacher type of striker going by his goal scoring record but he looks a superb all round striker. Great first touch, holds up the ball well, a few great passes and an eye for goal. Not sure if staying back as our 4th choice striker(if Berba leaves and we don’t get anyone else) or going out on loan is better for him, I’ll leave to the gaffer to make that decision.

Which finally brings me to the “Elite Development squad”. Nothing special whatsoever. Had about 70 percent possession in the second half but did fuck all with it. Don’t remember Amos having to make a single save, while our lads carved out 3-4 guilt edged chances with the 30 % they had. The lad playing on their left flank though was really good, like a left footed Micah Richards. Made some strong runs. That said though do any of these guys have a chance of getting into that City first team ? Does Mankini even give a fuck about youth ? As long as we give young players a chance and do things the right way I don’t really care if they win more than us(Not going to happen by the way).

  94. Panderi says:

And off topic, I hope Ole stays with Molde and finishes what he started. He is destined for bigger and better things(culminating in a Fergie like reign at the theater of dreams ;) ) but now is not the right time IMO. Also hope Martinez tells the scousers to fuck off, they don’t deserve him.

  95. Dave Malaysia says:

@Costas: Even here there are experts saying Greece leaving the euro and defaulting on payments wud be a disaster.

How did u guys get there? Wheres Aristotle?

  96. Albert Ross says:

    Good day Reds!

Well done United Reserves! Your careers are blossoming!

It’s great to see Fred posting again, even if he drives me round the bend with his incessant anti-Owen stance. I guess that if ever there was a good time for Fred to crow it was last night, with Owen’s somewhat limited on-field contribution coming to an end. Also, at least Fred’s views are actually facts (perhaps misleading) and not just wild accusations punctuated with swear words and accompanied by references to freedom of speech. Welcome back Fred!

Good post from Wakey, thanks for that easily understood view. It does oversimplify matters somewhat, but the impart is the same. I think that Sir Alex will be given whatever money he asks for, which won’t be too much. Perhaps 50 million for transfers, less probably. Wages are the problem, with our wage-bill already climbing 11% over last season.

  97. Albert Ross says:

Panderi’s box showing the Reserves live is thanks enough!

  98. MG says:

There is only one Bebe Costas

Another thing on the financial side – the kit renewal is up pretty soon, expect United to quite handsomely shatter all records when they sign up again.

    Off to work

    Oh Good Morning United ::D

  99. Atin says:

    MG:

That doesnt come up till 2015. However, expect about 600 mn pounds for a 10 year period from that one in line with the recent deals Nike closed with Barca and the French national team. I doubt they’d want to miss out on United as a flagship club wearing Nike.

  100. Albert Ross says:

The Singing section was put on hold because “The club has been asked for some further detailed analysis” by the police. “The club hopes to be in a position to make a further announcement at the start of next season.”

Over 1,300 season ticket holders signed up to move to the proposed section including terrace songster Pete Boyle and Mani from the Stone Roses. That number was set to surpass the initial target set by the club. United successfully trialled the idea against Aston Villa in their recent Premier League game.

    http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/sport/football/manchester_united/s/1511291_manchester-uniteds-singing-section-on-hold-until-2013-14

  101. Redbilly says:

Albert- off topic . I live the story if mani going to a Stockport cashpoint only to discover 2 mil had been deposited he didn’t know about. Money from the forthcoming tour. Stockport, money and still red :-)

  102. Albert Ross says:

    Costas – good day sir!

I know Owen is yesterday’s news, but perhaps you might humour me for a moment.

I’ve been wondering how I could test Fergie’s claim that “Michael’s record of goals per game is exceptional” especially in light of Fred’s stats, which were:
    - Owen has failed to score on 38 of the 51 occasions he played for United.
    - 5 of his 17 goals were scored after coming off the bench.

    Can we calculate?
Owen’s goal return as a percentage of United’s goals scored while he is on the pitch?

  103. Albert Ross says:

Redbilly – forgive me please, I don’t understand your 08:52. Please bring me up to speed. Did Nani find unexpected cash in his account?

  104. Wakey says:

    @Costas

Remeber as I pointed out in one of m ther comments that these are results for an accounting period that Football clubs have always struggled in with United under the PLC often having to take a loan because they were in the red and needed the money to pay expenses.

A football clubs accounts are top loaded, they get their season ticket sales, seasons sponsor payments and previous years prize money at the start of a season not to mention any income from player sales. So while we should see a decent amount come in from player sales as the clubs got a lot better at selling players even if we don’t there should be a hefty jump in cash reserves

  105. Redbilly says:

Albert- sorry i didnt elaborate . Mani of the stone roses . Was a recent article I came across.

  106. King Eric says:

Well done AGAIN lads. Some proper talent in this team and Will Keane has a huge future. What a crunching tackle by Tunnicliffe. Hard as fucking nails.

  107. Albert Ross says:

    Redbilly – thanks for that!

I see that Mani’s wife Imelda Mounfield tweeted:
“City’s win is all down to Mani , he predicted yrs ago the stone roses would play again after city won the league !!!! Nostradamus or what ..”

  108. Redbilly says:

    Albert- spooky .

  109. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

Awesome job fellas, we have some fantastic youngsters!
