Manchester United have today confirmed the signing of Robin van Persie. Initial reports claim that United have paid £24m for the Arsenal striker who was in the last year of his current deal.
The deal is subject to a medical and the agreement of personal terms. Van Persie will travel to Manchester tomorrow.

Mixed emotions…
WELCOME TO THE THEATER OF DREAMS (and titles)!!!
meh… all a bit strange. Hopefully he works out for us though.
all yours…
oh and first and all that cock
Yes!!! The most lethal strike force in the country. Great things to come to United:):):)
Looks like we don’t need batman anymore…
Haven’t had a Gooners invasion in here for a while. Feel free to join in!
Really excited about this. So long as Rooney and hime can share the limelight. The pre season has shown that we need a goal scorer
Tears + LOLOLOLOL
Don’t know ,What to do
This is Legend…wait for it……Dary!
Ha- might need a strong one after work for this news. FML.
This is the best fucking news in a long time. I just hope this doesn’t mean that we’ll have to sell important players to finance the deal or that we’ve done with our summer shopping. We still need reinforcements at left back and in midfield. But WHAT A SIGNING!
where are u cedars!!!
wow!!!! gr8 signing!!!! come on !!!!
yahoooo….rooney+RVP….prerpare yourself for goals galore!!!
Costas. I think there is going to be a gooner invasion anytime now. I feel a bit sad for the gonner fans seeing how their best players leave season after season but that’s what happens when you don’t win trophies for half a decade.
cedarssss where are u!!! are u busy in something!!
if only he stays healthy …
well , Welcome RVP , hope Rooney n U fight for the golden booth this season
I guess , then Bye Bye Berba
Wonder how Welbz n Chicha feel
He is the only player I have seen hit a ball like Bobby Charlton . Quality . Don’t like us fear us
boot*
Colbert. I think the Angelo and RVP signings will be our last piece of business in this transfer window. I think it’s highly unlikely that we will be signing anyone else now.
Au revoir berbatov. Hello RVP.
@UTd4life, i think its not a linear relationship…no trophies= players leaving. Its more of a vicious effing circle, no?
Rooney
RVP
Welbeck
Chica
Berbatov
I guess Berbatov’s out..
MANCHESTER UNITED have a new feeder club……. Arsenal
@Utd4life
It is a sad state of affairs for their fans, but to their credit, some of them saw the light a long time ago. That’s what they get for sticking with Wenger way past his expiration date.
I do find it funny that they consider this their worst defection. They’ve sold everyone but their mother to City and all of a sudden, RVP is the arch traitor?
I was stuck on the other thread! RvP RvP RvP RvP RvP
Going bonkers here
@colbert..this is more than enough..kagawa +rvp.. what more we want. Here we go!!!
A lot of money for an injury prone 29yr old. Having said that, he’s a Great player and hope he does well, but still seems odd when we need midfielders. I guess Fergie is confident Tom C will have the season he promised before his injury.
Wow, didn’t want to comment on this transfer until confirmed. But what a signing this could be, I don’t think anybody thought this was going to happen when the transfer window opened.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CEDARS!
Can’t wait to see how he gels with Berba
Right now Cedars is almost as popular on ROM as RVP
Now for World domination , muhahahahahahahaha .
Welcome to OT RVP..:)
You have a dead ball 25 or 30 yards out. Rooney, RvP and Young surround the ball. Scholes is lurking somewhere.
Here. We. Go. Again.
great news on the van persie deal…ecstatic… I think rooney and kagawa will have the link man role behind the striker (van persie/ welbeck/chicharito). Not sure how rooney kagawa and van persie will play though may be in a 4-3-3 like we used to do with ronaldo rooney and tevez. Takes players with great technique and vision to play that system. Cant wait for monday
Saad. Sadly true mate. People may have their doubts on why we spunked 20-22 mil for a striker who is injury prone and is probably gonna offer us 3-4 years of his service but it was high time we added some much needed star power in the team.
Not to be out done , city have put a bid in for batman. Ha ha ha ha
People like Nasri, Toure and the likes to go to $hitty proved themselves atleast for a couple of seasons before they fell for the appeal of the greenbacks. What hurts with RVP is that he had ONE good season, he was nursed almost for most of his career. Its like your paraplegic wife you take care of all your life, she miraculously recovers, becomes super hot and leaves you for your high school nemesis.
Kagawa, Rooney and RvP………Talk about striking fear into the opposition. This combo will with out doubt rape shit
@Cedars..shout out louder!!! RvP..RvP…
Utsava Sharma says:
Right now Cedars is almost as popular on ROM as RVP
for fucks sake…. don’t say that…his head is big enough already…..
I have mixed feeling about this, but it seems RVP is so sure United is the only team that can assure him trophies! “wellcome to the capital of trophy RVP!”
wow! I wonder what this will mean for Welbeck and Chicharito.
Great stuff this will give the whole club a boost for the new season
@Tonybee
Haha. Dw mate. Will try my best to bring it down. If its possible
FUCK ME> Feels like the time when you land the fittest bird in the country, just grinning like an Idiot!
bloody hell, the rest of is in trouble!!!
We have not signed him we have agreed a fee he has to have a medical and agree personal terms
@TonyBee
Which head of the two?
Cedars is gonna need a whole box of tissue, and I don’t mean for wiping tears but for the thought of the orgasmic strike force that would be Rooney-Van Persie.
Cedars –
Daz the Bomb
Mate, you can make DvD’a of his goals, the way his strikes the ball is unreal…….
Dear God I feel like a 5 year old on Christmas eve
Cedaaaaaaaaaars!!!
I’m shouting!!!!!!!!
Great news
Wellcome to the team that strives for title Robin
I was not going to post until monday
But wow, good news indeed
He’s class
Wow can not imagine him, Rooney up top, scary attack
It will be really interesting to see how we line up now. All the best to Berba too, not a single whine despite not getting any games. if we get 5-10m for him and apply some famous dippernomics, we are looking at a 15-20m net spend on RVP.
Come on Baines and Jags, run a lot and tire yourself out. Hoping for Everton 0 UTD 3 on Monday
that Lebanese fuck puppet will never let us forget will he…….
he will be orgasmic once he gets his first goal……
Cedars –
WOW!!! is it a joke or what??
Yorke, Cole, Ole Gunner, Sheringham – 1998/1999
Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez, RvP – 2012/2013
Sir Alex Ferguson – 26 years
Guys, where does this leave Bebe though? Why is it that no one thinks of him at a time like this? Do you want him to return to the (mean) streets? Do you??
well i despise the use of crudity and comments like ‘rape shit’ etc , offensive to women and frankly just poor, but i have to say right now i am wanking
happy happy days
oh wait, we need a cm and a lb, hahahahaha fools
now where was i?, ah yes…………………..
I don’t know if this is good for us, but one striker need to leave UTD now !!!!!
I hope that we dont play that 4-4-2 with all the talent we have in our team ….Please bring back that exciting strikerless formations that we all loooooooooooveeee
be like a Lebanese Vesuvius going off…. Lebanese magma spewing out everywhere
UNITED!!!!!UNITED!!!!Deal Includes a carton of “Pain Relief Spray” as he was having back pain due to carrying arsenal on his back for whole season,Alone
Scholes is thinking: who the hell do I pass to now??? Wazza? RVP? Wazza? RVP? Wazza? RVP?
Could drive a man crazy!!!
My kind a crazy!
The greatest strike force in the league…and Rooney on the bench
The goal he scored vs us on the day we humiliated arsenal 8-2
Won him all the award, that goal convinced sir alex that he’s such a fantastic striker, and he does have this never die attitude
We were cruising at that moment but he was still fighting at 6-1
Berbatov, macheda… have not future anymore right now!!!!!
are you gonna tell him or shall i Cedars…….
@saad scholes will love that dilemma/options up front he will benefit from it and so will man utd
Rooney and RVP together got 57 league goals last aeason.. Thats more than 77 of the 98 teams in europe’s top divison.,,
Colbert. What does Bebe have anything to do with this signing??
Finally someone to take our direct freekicks, although Rooney would have something to say about it =p
TonyBee
Go ahead mate, the ground is all yours
I think 4 strikers are enough and we have to sell berbatov, macheda…
Berba doesn’t even have a present. He had his time and now it’s gone, that’s how it is, like it or not. Sir Alex knows this is his last hurrah, whether it be one, two or three years. He’s doing it for himself now and for the next manager.
Kiko will have to bide his time. He’s only 20 years old. Time is on his side.
@. We gonna rape shit this season
Kagawa with a through ball to van persie, oh boy what a goal van persie seal it for the red devils
Tony Bee
I’ll tell him.
Robin van persie
He’s got a new jersey
And it evr looks so glam
Robin van persie
He’s got a new jersey
And its made from the gingham…
Credit to GHTT
De Gea
Rafa. Vidic. Ferdy. Evra
Tony. Clevs. Nani
Kagawa
Rooney. Van Persie
after you James….fed up with telling the prick…..
Thank god for signing yet another striker. I was afraid Henriquez might be Owen’s only replacement but it’d would have obviously been way too much for a youngster to contribute as much as Owen did.
(sarcasm aside, I’m very happy for Owen’s contributions, both on and off field, considering his price)
Again I ask, where are the doubters who said we did not need him? Not letting this go
RvP RvP RvP RvP RvP RvP RvP
It’s not as good as it sounds :
United payed £20+ Million for a 29 year old who is in the last year of his contract and is also injury-prone, me personally I ain’t over the moon as he only succeeded in a team that is built around him in Arsenal as he failed miserably for the Deutch time and time again.
But saying that he was the only one that scored more than Rooney and he could benefit from playing in a better team with better service and a better medical team (maybe not) but the main thing…
ROOOOONEY AND RVP PATNERSHIPS.
DDG
Rafael-Rio-Vidic-Evra
Carrick
Valencia-Kagawa-Nani
RvP-Rooney
but if you dont tell the Prick off hard enough using suitably coarse language …i might be forced to join in…..
Cedars will go bonkers for sure
Hopes he works out for Utd thou, and keeps the injuries at bay. however seems berba will now make way as we are having an excess of forwards in the team with the Angelo lad signing as well
Now am waiting for my dream 4-3-2-1 formation to be set out by SAF
with both Rooney and Kagawa in support for RvP…
So fatman and robin up front…..
Sorry couldnt resist
Imagine scholesy pivoting in the center with nani Valencia Kagawa Rooney and Van Persie all ahead.
This is what we are going to get. Check out this video on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXZokrgRP7A&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Fuck shit
He’s an injury prone
He’s too expansive
He isn’t coming
Blah, blah, blah……..
Chaw, proceed with your investigation. Till monday
@Utd4Lyfe
He’ll get squeezed out by RvP! Can’t you see?!?!?!
911
Go and post somewhere else you fake prick and take Sachu, sara, fanboy ,iced earth and any other name you post under and shove them up your arse.
Man U Man U Man U.
Now we can atleast expect 2 or 3 matches were either rooney or rvp will be on bench even when they are fit..holy shit!! thats something crazy!!rooney as a sub..hahaa
Now i don’t know how SAF will sort between nani/AY/TV..if kagawa starts then only one of these will start considering carrick+ kagawa+clev/scholes/ando are sure starters.
Bloody hell..how will we include roo+rvp+kagawa+nani+tv+clev +carrick in a single match??One should be out.So its either nani/TV7
Wouldn’t worry about the medical ffs. Owen Hargreaves passed it! Welcome Robin Van Persie.
You’ve made me mucker CedarsVanPersie a very happy Red.
And yes, that’s his real name!
Wenger and Mancini both running towards store. One to buy tissues and one for adult diapers.May be they can get discount…….LOL
Son of Cedars
Welcome to OT Robin Van Cedars
As I mentioned all the way back in June me thinks it was
19
Wait!
This can not be true!
This was supposed to be a spin by Sir Alex to increase season ticket sales!
We have to know that RVP used to be injured in past seasons, ok not last season but I’m worried about his fitness and for the youngs strikers like chicharito and welbeck !!!!!
I’m excited and optimistic. If he can stay relatively injury free, him and Rooney up top is gonna scare the shit out of everyone. Bring on the new season
Some said it could’t be done. Where are those naysayers now?
http://robinvanpersie.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/PA-133625552.jpg
Welcome to Old Trafford, Robin van Persie!
James21….that’ll do nicely ….
wont do any good though…. the dozy cunt has a skin thicker than a rhinos left bollock sack….
yes! see you berbatov!
who’s next? Mario Goetze? Can’t wait for Monday,i can’t stop saying bloody hell, must have said it over 200 times since confirmation of the RvP news. Bloody hell!!!
Colbert. LOL. Jokes aside, the only ones who are gonna get squeezed out by RVP are Welbeck and Chico. People comparing the present 4 striker situation – Rooney, Welbeck, Chico and RVP (I’m not including Berba) with the 98/99 batch of Solksjaer, Yorke, Cole and Sheringham have got it completely wrong. The 98/99 batch did not have any definite starters and hence all 4 were used quite well but in the present scenario, Rooney and RVP are guaranteed starters. This means Welbeck and Chico will have to work their asses off if they are to displace wither of them.
On your shit mind
You think if I used numerous user names would still post with this one
What a daft thinking
I goes to show what amount of pleasure you get from harassing people on here…
new username prediction……
Robbing the Cedarsdevil….
has a sort of ring to it ……
*either of them
BREAKING NEWS :
ROBIN VAN PERSIE HAS FAILED A MEDICAL AFTER SCANS SHOWED HE INJURED HIS BACK AFTER HE CARRIED A WHOLE TEAM ON HIS BACK LAST SEASON .
Willie / MG
Cheers fellas, I cannot begin to describe my joy!
Daz the Bomb
Thanks for that video mate, his goal celebrations alone are worth 20 million!
If in the old days of Keane & Vieira, someone told us we’d be signing Arsenal’s captain, top scorer & best player, we’d be laughing off ass off
How times have changed
Utd4Life – not true at all. Cole & Yorke were clearly the first choice partnership in 98/99. Solskjaer and Sheringham saw plenty of action though, just as Welbeck and Chicharito will.
911…why are still posting here…everyone on here thinks you are a stupid cunt and love to ridicule your every comment….
it is obvious you are below average in the grey matter as some of your previous posts are moronic so little fella please do one and fuck off
So many games…..EPL, Carling, FA , Champs league…and we needs subs AND injuries will happen of course. Lil Pea and Danny WILL get a lot games, no doubt.
We need that title back NOW, we need better Europe performance NOW and this signing helps gets us there.
There’s no pleasure what so ever but you are a classless cunt, lower than John Terry. At least with John Terry you know what you’re getting. My mind is full of shit, you.
Who’s next? Steady on!
Gimps still own us!
GOD! I’M SO BLOODY EXCITED!! it has been a long United bought a mature star player.
P.S @cedars:
mate if u read this news, i believe u cant stop smilling as same as i am now! hahaha…!
Finally someone who can hit a free kick !!!
Vidic – That jokes played out pal.
He’s carrying United now!
@Utd4Life
I agree. Also, I think this signing means that we’re willing to listen to any offers for Berba and Macheda now #football manager
It’s not good for chicharito and welbeck, i don’t really understand the goal of that transaction !!!!
Orgasmic news on RvP!!!
Mr Bee
I love it, you never know I could use it!
Vidic
Yawn, I have lost count on the number of times I have read that joke on here
@ROM..its 12.50am in India..and i can’t get sleep…my adrenaline is rushing imagining rooney+rvp..so a happy gdnt to all..c u tomorrow
Cedars
We’re right here buddy.well I am anyway. The striker department is stoked and SAF has got his man , now can we please get a fucking central midfielder.
Saw a post in the last thread about a Martinez moving to Bayern. I’ll be fucking gutted if its the bilbao player making the move
All this fire power and a rickety platform. Don’t mix well IMO.
Fucking hell, our attack shits all over what they’ve got at Wastelands. Rooney, Van Persie, Kagawa, Nani, Valencia, Welbeck, Chicharito, Young OMG the options… The title’s coming home babayyyyy!!!!
Dazbomber,
Could you please who will be out next signing?
###
By the way, i m delighted that we have signed RVP..
at least the fans who were calling for big name signing will be happy now
and for god sake i hope we will sell Berba in 24 hours..
I do not want the lad to suffer anymore, now that RVP is in, Berba should be let go..
We have Van persie and now our opponents will ask for Mercy , Mercy!!
Welcome Robin
Having a man crush already.
Cedars
You cant have it both ways, its either kagawa or Van.
For those who thought Sir Alex was using RVP’s name to increase season ticket sales, how do you feel now?
To have such a thing thrown at our manager after all he had done for this club is disrespectful and shows no gratitude to a man who is responsible for the great turnaround in our great clubs fortunes, having followed United since the late seventies and those like me know how it feels to be underachieving,
To watch the Liverpools, Evertons, Arsenals Forests and Villa’s win stuff while you are stuck in beautiful memories of the past, I don’t remember in all my years since he took over that I’ve attacked the great man, not even while I was watching games alone, I have to much respect and gratitude to the Master!!!
What a great signing provided he passes his medical and can agree terms. Quick question for anyone watching the England game. Does anyone else notice the advertisements around the pitch f*cking up an awful lot and just looking completely fake?
Fred
Fuck yes mate, fuck yes indeed……….With those options we are bringing it back home
You know I really can’t understand people posting anything even remotely negative at this joyous time. If you can’t enjoy a signing like this then maybe Manchester United is not the club for you.
We’ve signed one of the best strikers in the world!
Cedars – I was about to leave the house mate, when my old man phoned, and told me about RVP. I said to him, don’t mess me around now lol. Never thought Wenger would allow it. Can’t wait for Monday! It’s a nice problem for the boss.
Don’t see the connection between RVP and Berbatov. Berba has been as good as gone since the Wembley final. The only reason he’s still at the club is because we have yet to receive an offer that satifies our and his demands.
@Cedars
Like I said elsewhere, I still don’t believe we need him. Doesn’t make me a doubter though. I could see the signing happening for a week now.
911
Thought u were pissing off till Monday after the game?
Kagawa to Rooney, Rooney to RvP and BANG Goooooooaaal! (Mexican style commentary)
Now if we could just sign a new physio team then we are all set
United – 35 million for the bundesliga player of the year and the premier league player of the year.
Liverpool – 35 million for Andy Carroll
Bottom line is that:
We’ve Got Van Persie
___________________
Still sounding So surreal!
Cedars, I raise my glass to you and Robin van Persie. My word. Cheers!
Welcome aboard. Do the business.
SB
Willie
Next time you meet your dad give him a big hug from me
Sandeep – hahahaha! Crackers it is. We’ve done some bloody good business this summer. A statement of intent, if you will.
Very good news just a midfielder to come in (hopefully) and United will be set for the new season….
He scores when he wants he scores when he wants
Robin Van Persie he scores when he wants
Rvp…marqué signing, rvp…20+ goals a season. Suddenly, we’ve become so attractive again. If only Moura had known. Can’t wait for Monday 2000 BST. And STR, what’s up with you man, ain’t you happy?
Hope Fergie doesn’t play him at LB?
Good Nite all ROM Readers ,Gonna have wet dream tonite #BESTWETDREAMEVER
Roll on Monday night football!
We’re gonna rifle shit.
I love his salt and pepper hair. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qR0sk58Na2w/TGf15Ito5fI/AAAAAAAAAKs/S3yunRLJ2Bw/s1600/van-persie.jpg
How many times we don’t need a midfielder believe. Carrick, Scholes, Ando, Cleverly and most likely see Kagawa play in that role also as the attacking one. We dont need a midfielder its nonsence
So looking forward to arsenal vs man united now
It could be interesting
Fred
Cheers right back at you my RED brother…….
Costas
Never thought you were one of the doubters mate, but now that you have come out of the closet I forgive you with all my heart!
Not trying to be negative or anything but the only way Chico and Welbeck are going to get games is if we go all the way in all the competitions. I am not taking into the consideration RVP’s fitness record because I don’t want him to get injured.
I wonder if THE BIG MAN will go straight into the team at Everton. I think he’ll be on the bench, personally.
Sandeep1878- Keep it under you hat but I’ve heard we have got Messi ,
@Willie
Well, he is left footed…
Are you watching?
Are you watching?
Are you watching, Sheikh Mansour???
WHAT?! THIS IS BOLLOCKS! STOP TROLLING US!
THE GLAZERS WOULD NEVER PROVIDE THE FUNDS FOR BOTH THE BUNDESLIGA AND EPL PLAYER OF THE SEASON TO TRANSFER TO MAN UTD. STOP THE MA’FUCKIN PRESSES!
Eat your words, anti-Glazers. You can still hate them — but not for providing the funds to allow SAF to build the team he wants to build.
Sometimes you have to buy for now. RVP is a top top striker
Also he wanted to come, and that I like
Willie
hahaha funny as fuck.
Welcome to United! Welcome to glory!
Fuck off Arsenal.
Well said @ Hamzah and Good observation @ Sandeep!!
Hardly the actions of a club in financial dificulties with a lieing puppet of a manager as MUST and their gronies would have us believe.
Truth is Fergie buys when he and only he believes the right player is available the right price and that player only wants top play for greatest football club in the world!
Great news. Can’t wait for the season to begin!
Before we get an official image of RvP in the kit, here’s my ‘photoshop’. It’s not the worst. Honest.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/548967_3837651614283_958224334_n.jpg
Costas – Just for emergencies!
Utd4Life – don’t worry about it. Van Persie is in his prime, and proven at the highest level. Those two lads are not there yet, much as we love them. Their time will come, no question about that, but for now just enjoy the dream ticket of Rooney & Van Persie.
@Cedars
I had my doubts as long as the Moura situation was developing. I couldn’t see us signing both players. After he signed with PSG and City denied any interest in Van Persie, it paved the way for us. Arsenal had no choice in the matter and we seemed serious about it. Lets see how Fergie works out the pleasant selection headaches he has now.
Dreadedred
Exactly mate fuck off arsenal fuck off arsenal
Cedars – Will do mate.
Dreadedred
well said my brother from another mother.
berbgreaves – not the worst? It’s bloody brilliant mate. Nice one!
My Arsenal mates are NOT GOING TO HEAR THE END OF THIS
As for the naysayers, relax ffs. Fergie always describes it as a headache he doesn’t mind having so why are YOU losing sleep? How can signing RVP for 20m be a cause for complaint anyway? Imagine if City hijacked the deal, these same moany sods would demand to know why WE didn’t sign him and call that PROOF we have no money! Make your fucking minds up! I swear some of you just wanna nag every 5 minutes, you must drive your other halves mad… or NOT.
As for the price, the fee for English players is always hiked for obvious reasons and we don’t complain. At least with RVP we know what we’re paying extra for – a bloody good player.
Very happy to see a player of his class at OT, especially when City would’ve paid more money than we are. RVP knows his way around the best defences in the league, and regarding his injury record, Arsenal’s barrenness was a contributing factor in his fitness don’t forget. We’re not dependent on him and he won’t be expected to play every game.
Also, if Welbeck and Hernandez really are players for the future (which I think they are) we can’t shelter them from REAL competition, otherwise whats the point? Throw them in with the best and let them deal with it. Fergie won’t play RVP off reputation alone just ask Berbatov.
For what its worth – I wouldn’t mind seeing the dutchman start with Berbatov. Not only would they compliment each others game that partnership would piss everybody off haha. Fantasy Football at its finest….
Off topic, I wouldn’t mind seeing Neville manage England, he’d do a better job than this bollocks im sure.
Giggs12
Thanks for the chant mate, loved it….
He scores when he wants, he scores when he waaaaants oh my son scores when he wants…
Err, sorry meant to say RvP
Fred,
Indeed its the statement buddy!!
I m really happy that we have signed a proven hit man..
I dont go into the negativity of his age and injuries, but i m delighted indeed..
##
With this signing, now we can have a real go at 4-3-3
I m also sure we will go back to the days of 08 where the strikers interchanged as wingers time and again in the game, keeping them defenders guessing..
###
by the way, is he the first big name to make a direct move to United from Arsenal..? yes at least in my time..
way to go!!
##
berbgreaves….. that cant be real mate…aint got no Lebanese bollock yoghurt dripping off it……
UTID
What a belter of a post.Happy days
I can’t stress how important this signing is. Van Persie will bring hunger to the squad. He has won barely anything in his career and the clock is ticking. It is very important to have players like this, as Dwight Yorke proved when he joined at a similar (slightly older) age. Young players can be complacent because they have time on their side. Older players at our club have won everything, multiple times. Van Persie will bring a fresh perspective which will prove invaluable.
Dazbomber,
you might as well enlighten us on the jersey number RVP will be wearing ?
May be Number 20?
after all he is gonna win us the 20th
Dazbomber don’t like us fear us. Just like the old days .
I better start following
@persie_official
He will double his twitter followers in no time
Sort of puts the mockers in the other teams transfer news.
He’s the worldclass signing we’ve been crying out for…wonder what number he’s gonna wear? Will it be the No9…we’ll have to wait and see. Carrick is looking good for England…looks ready and fit for the new season!!
Has to be said though, the strike force looks legit.
Wing play is definitely being phased out gradually. Ton of ball players-especially the strikers. Can hit a mean free kick. The positives are some real footy candy but can’t help but think about whats to become of the engine room.
Can’t believe I’m saying this but come on Ando. Step the Fuck up
@giggs12
Nonsense my foot. Kagawa is no midfielder and that list is pretty much what we had last year. Didn’t look too pretty now did it.or have you forgotten already?
Fact. Carrick is the only defensive aware MF we have in the squad. More to the point. The rest bar scholes are kids who have proven Fuck all. The talent is there no doubt but a Shit lot to achieve yet. FFS didn’t stop the gaffer pursing RVP with all the talented strikers ar his disposal. Nonsense? More like reality check
I know we graciously handed them Silvestre 4 years ago, but when was the last time we bought a player from Arsenal?
Cedars
Glad you liked it mate, just having a bounce as we speak with our boy King Eric
United united united
Cedars- On a happiness scale of 1-10. Where are you right now
Fred. Yeah, leaving all the negativity aside it is a great piece of business made by the club. We are buying a quality player who has excelled in the PL and at the international level and who will score 20 odd goals easily considering the kind of service that will be given to him by our midfield. Bottom line is, I would much rather see the club invest money in the squad than use the money to pay off our debt.
TonyBee
You old fart! Pissed my self at that
Redbilly-To right mate , let’s destroy a few teams and they will.
Costas – Viv Anderson, 1987.
CedarsDevil – as you may be aware, I lust after no player. For that reason, I was always irked by your unbridled enthusiasm for RVP. I said nothing because to each his own, but I was very tempted to ask you to stop fawning over Arsenal players on RoM. To me, it was not right to promote the dutchman here.
I was wrong.
Well done! I have no doubt that your relentless expression of desire this past year (or so) is integral to our purchase of a player that would never have come our way had you not swamped RoM with RVP love.
Top player, great signing, and a big fuck you to arsenal fans everywhere.
Fred- 20:28. Totally agree mate, it’s awesome news and any PL club who scoff at us are lying through their teeth.
I have not been this happy since I found out I didn’t have herpes.
Ppl are looking at this the wrong way,if he stays fit him an Rooney could be WOW,but if not we av Ares best player on our bench,24 mill for untied to take him to emirates is worth very penny, god a carnt wait hahaha pure gold
Redbilly
7500 mate!
Giggs12
Bounce away mate, I am chuffed as fuck with this signing, currently on my own and shouting his name out like mad…….
@Fred
Thanks pal. Wow, I wondered if I was alive when it last happened. City have bought twice as many Arsenal players in the last 4 years.
Dreadedred- good post , rakes a strong character to admit they stand corrected. Awesome news.
Cedars- get off here and get out on the piss !!!!!!
With tom cleverley looking tidy, and anderson wanting to prove something
Not to mention the great ginger prince and kagawa
We have far better supply from the midle
I can’t wait for the season to begin, very, very excited!
Just watching on sky United sign RVP from Arsenal it’s in yellow at the bottom of the screen. I must admit I had a slight erection naughty Bomber
tried going to Arseblog.com, the site isnt working!
LOL
rather unfortunate i’d have to deal with a player i’ve hated all along……….smh
Arsenal Business Club
Silent Stan is pissing from his balcony having made a kill.Nonetheless thats value for money at United.one mans meat and all that……
Dazbomber- it’s how it used to be. And it’s nit just down to awaiting RVP. If we get one seSon out if him with anything like last seasons performance , it’s worth it . In my humble opinion if course. Teams used to fear united. , truly afraid of making mistakes less they are punished. We hope that time has returned.
Good feeling right now knowing how many reds are over the moon ( not the blue one) right now. Arsenal, well better red than blue .
If only the season started tomorrow
“It’s not good for chicharito and welbeck, i don’t really understand the goal of that transaction !!!!”
@LUHG
Chico’s better suited as a super sub. Danny’s the guy who’s being elbowed out more, in my opinion.
Redbilly
Who told you I am not on the piss mate? Fucking celebrating like mad
Giggs12Gerrard0 – Shout it out on my behalf when you get to see RVP being on the right side of an arsenal hammering by United, if you please!
Fuck off arsenal fuck off arsenal!
Well this is more of a wait and see than most signings for me. Definite mixed emotions. Overall I want MUFC to dominate. I hope he helps us do just that.

After weeks of speculation it’s happened. United have broken their signings policy to make 29 year old Robin van Persie a Manchester United player (subject to a medical and personal terms being agreed). The move, whilst immensely pleasing, is slightly odd – going into the off-season period, I’m not sure many United fans would have felt that another striker was the priority. Nevertheless, last season’s Premier League top scorer is a United player.
More than anything, this is a statement of intent. The deadliest striker in the Premier League last year, the man who hit 30 league goals in a good but inconsistent team, is now a Man United player. It’s not like United necessarily needed more goals from upfront – Rooney’s fabulous haul of 27 league goals was only three shy of Robin’s and came and a better rate too. So why sign him?
The best players rarely become available and at a time when many top teams are pretty well stocked with strikers, demand for van Persie has been surprisingly low. Juventus were keen but off-pitch issues have meant that wasn’t a goer. It came down to us and City – they have numerous strikers on their books at the moment who they’re trying and failing to get rid of. Early in the saga it was thought that Robin had bought into the culture and history of United over City, maybe that gave us an edge. Surprisingly, Chelsea have never seriously been linked.
I was among the many who thought United weren’t clinical enough last year – odd considering it was a bumper season for goals and converting chances (yep, the figures do say that). However you feel that van Persie adds a scare factor – as if United weren’t dangerous enough, now you could be forgiven for thinking that the club’s strikers could bag 65+ league goals between them.
Talking of strikers, what does the signing mean for Welbeck and Hernandez in particular? One would expect Berbatov to leave and Macheda to go out on loan, but how will Danny and Javier get games? In 1998/99 United had four brilliant strikers but it was easy to rotate them as they were all pretty much on a par. Rooney is, in the eyes of Fergie, largely undroppable and you’d have to imagine it’ll be the same with Robin. Four quality strikers but no obvious signs that rotation will happen regularly. It’s possible that Welbeck might be used wide as we’ve seen in the past and Hernandez is excellent as an impact sub against tiring legs but will that be enough for those two?
Robin too is a bit of a mean player. I’ve never liked him and thought he was a bit of a [insert rude word]. However, United could probably do with some of that. It’s not clear why, but we’ve almost become a bit soft – maybe it was the double loss of Vidic and Fletcher last year with Rooney’s frustrations being calmed, but we’re not quite as imposing as we were. Robin will certainly add a bit of that, although I think I’d have preferred someone mean to come in central midfield rather than upfront.
I, like many, am pleased with the business we’ve done this summer – Kagawa and Powell are already looking like smart additions. Kagawa is of course best just behind a striker, so where does this leave Rooney and van Persie? Robin’s very well suited to playing the lone role but Rooney won’t want to miss out. Despite Kagawa doing ok in a two man central midfield against Hanover, he comes to life in the final third of the field – I hope this signing doesn’t mean that Kagawa’s role will be changed for the worst.
The gripe that many of us have is not against Robin as a player, but against the club making him the marquee signing. It’s not that we’re an ungrateful bunch, rather, I think many would have preferred the money was invested into other areas, notably central midfield. It feels increasingly rare for the club to have a large lump sum to invest in the playing squad and so maybe having it invested in more pressing areas of the squad would have been the ideal. Certainly, and it’s with the writing equivalent of a heavy-heart that I bring this up, but the IPO proposal states that spending in the years to come will not be on a par with this summer. A total of £40m net will be spent this summer whilst that might be halved in future summers.
If goals become a problem this season then I’ll be baffled. With Rooney, Nani, Welbeck, Valencia, Hernandez, Young, Kagawa, van Persie and others; you’d be hard-pushed to find such attacking quality in depth like that elsewhere. The addition of van Persie is a very positive move, yet the cynic in me can’t help but look at the players who’ll play further back on the pitch and wonder if the money could’ve been even better spent.
Welcome RVP!!!!!!
So pleased and looking forward to new season. We have a striker who knows where the net is and its a fantastic transfer coup!
Great News!!!
Best Signing Since DWIGHT YORKE
WELL DONE SAF…Thanks Mr Wenger!!!
GGMU!!! – Let this be the birth of a new GOLDEN Season.
RVP – cheers!
£24mill is wrong. Telegraph have the fee at £15mill up front, with further add ons taking it to £22 million. Good deal for both clubs imo.
Dazbomber you knew about this months ago. I raise my glass to you as well. Cheers!
Cedars
I know your left hand is busy but dont over do it,u still need ur fingerprints
Fucking hell!! 15 mil for RVP up front.. Its the steal of the century…..
Slim
Mate I kid you not I don’t need a reality check and apart from injuries we had a great midfield last year and Scholes again this summer looks class and can still do it. we also have petrucci and Powell that are being groomed. If you say Kagawa isn’t going to play a central role behind the strikers then please tell me where he will play.
Media abus make you believe we are dia in midfield its bullshit and fans need to chill out on it if you ask me or do you know more than SAF?
That’s a terrific deal, Willie. No win, no fee – as if that’s gonna happen!
Would love to hear matt,s opinion on this.
Humble pies to samuel as well.
Danizizu
Why would you hate one of the best strikers in world football? Besides, he is one of ours now so best start loving him
Resbilly,
the bugger’s happiness can’t be measured
that 1 to 10 scale is shattered by his over joy
###
Fred,
You addressed it to Costas by mistake regarding Viv..Thanks anyway pal
@piersmorgan are there ANY Arsenal players still on your Xmas card list????
###
We have Batman aka Rooney and Robin aka Robin
##
Dazbomber,
Messi eh? what next? Gareth Barry? james Milner?
How can anyone have any mixed emotions about this deal??????
He’s a world class player. Yes he’s 29, but just turned 29!. He’s not a player who relies on pace as an attribute so can easily play out a 4 year contract a high level of performance.
His previous injury record might not have been good, but it finally looks like his body has grown fully and has adapted. He’s pretty much been injury free for 18 months.
He’s a born goalscorer. He’s arguably the most technically gifted footballer in the league. He takes penalties, free kicks, assists in goals. I’ve always been an admirer. I’ve always said he’s better than Rooney, now he has the opportunity to outshine him at Old Trafford
What’s more is that at 29, he’s experienced little success which means his hunger and appetite is through the roof.
Roll on the good times!!
Hernandez ”competition in the team can be good. its normal for a footballer, I’ll be ready whenever the gaffer wants me to play.”
@Giggs12… puts the Welbeck and Chicco debate to rest mate… they can both learn from RVP!!!!
RvP is class.More WAGS in manchester courtesy of kags & robin-little wonder cashley cole has been traversing carrington
Wenger, so impressed by the Silvestre deal, insisted Bebe go the other way as part of the deal lol
His medical will be a worry. He must have a troublesome back having carried Arsenal for the past 2 years lol
Giggs12
I’ll meet up with you on Monday and get a beer. Get a song going. RVP RVP RVP.
Fred-When I heard it I could not believe it my self , but it was where it came from . A man United legend . The story was that he contacted United and said he wants to sign .
How can Arsenal fans criticise RvP? Hes 29 and wont be at around forever, hes been at Arsenal for the majority of his career and won nothing. He deserves better as a top class player.
RoM is buzzing tonight
they call him robin
leap tall shoes in a single bound. He is devil now
got no gunpowder on his finger now
he will never bring us down
mancinisit? You make us sick
aguero ain’t savin shit.
Defenders can jump on rvp’s dick straight from the hip
Cedars,
do reply to the fucking mail when your Dutch orgasm is over at last
The Stockmarket really hates this announcement. The price has plummeted since the announcement, if we sign a midfielder and a left back the prediction by PrivCo may just come true
@fred
Cheers. The weird thing is, I used Rio’s body for it!
Dazbomber – wow, that says a lot about the man. Could become a United legend himself!
Van Persie is the only man that i would accept being a second wife.
Fred – 15mill up front is a steal! Thanks Arsene…
They got the overall fee above 20mill, so they’re happy with that.
with RVP in,
we have 2 established strikers, – Rooney and RVP
two young and upcoming strikers – Danny and Chico
One proven, rarely used, technically best striker – Berbatov..
where are we heading reds?
Mars?
I know many will say we should have invested the money elsewhere (and they might be right) but seriously, this signing has me excited. For one it tells me SAF is thinking along the lines of “put some goals past us if you want, but we will always score more!” – and boy does this team look mouthwatering now with a proven, genuinely world class goal scorer! Welbeck and Chicha are good, but not quite there yet for me to trust them over an entire season. With RvP those fears are gone, and we actually have solid depth to use RvP more wisely than Arsenal have managed to – which means more opportunities to rest him, and more longevity for RvPs career. Or so I hope!
Read this,
a compromise has been reached with United understood to be paying £15m as an initial payment, with further fees dependent on add-ons linked to Van Persie’s appearances, goals and silverware won as a United player
dont know the sources but..
I don’t understand the signing a new CM thought process. Kagawa is well adept at giving the critical through passes and he seems well settled in to the club. Clevs is back and Scholes too. Carrick will be mostly deployed as a DM going by this thought.
Now if our already strong wings see more of the ball through Kagawa’s distribution, we would be lethal with the deliveries into the box where we would have the top-2 strikers in the PL waiting to put it in the goal. Welbz and Chicha will play a lot of cup matches and play part role in the Leagues.
Van persie a quality
Thought he was not going to come but
But you can’t know what is in fergie’s mind really
James7 correct mate I agree
James21 I’ll be in Scouseland for 5 mate defo having a few beers
Now we just need to sign Neymar and we’ll be on cloud land – ok I’ll be
Night 19
the deal is £22.5m rising extra £24m if united win either prem or champs league during his 4 year contract.i agree probably dont need a midfielder if they all stay fit bit a big big if……….
*but a big big if*
IMO We could be invincible with another defensive midfield. Martinez woul be ideal but would take sahin or m’vila
DDG
AV7 – Rio – Vidic – Evra
1ofabove – Carrick
Nani – Rooney – Kagawa
RVP
= OMG!!!!
Oh and can be just let Berba leave the club in peace now – time to move him on, and time for us to move on as well. What SAF is hoping for from RvP is what he wanted from Berba, and it didn’t happen – this is well and truly nail in coffin. So lets just let him move on with dignity.
Vivek
Exactly mate completely agree, the myth of us being desperate with a CM is ridiculous. Clev has proved he is ready, Scholes has proved he has another year, Carrick has proved all his doubters wrong. Add to that Anderson who finally looks ready to fulfil his potential, Kagawa who is clearly going to play as our ‘ Silva ‘ esque player, and then Powell.
LOL Sandeep, that was no mistake, Costas asked too. I only just saw your question in fact, but I’ll answer that too. Here are the players who moved between the clubs in the last 40 years:
Robin van Persie, Arsenal to United, 2012
Mikael Silvestre, United to Arsenal, 2008
Viv Anderson, Arsenal to United, 1987
Frank Stapleton, Arsenal to United, 1981
Brian Kidd, United to Arsenal, 1974
George Graham, Arsenal to United, 1972
Berbgreaves,
Thanks for the photoshop mate,
I have used it as cover photo on FB ROM group, of course via you
###
Willie and Fred,
15 Mil upfront is a robbery of the decade for this kinda player
Sandeep
Mate could you get a source for that? Cus honestly that’d make me happier than actually signing Van Persie. Can’t believe we spent over 20 million for him!
On the other hand, Piers the Cunt Morgan has been going nuts in twitter land, having potshots and Rooney, Nasri and ofcourse Van Persie. Fckinn sod
https://twitter.com/piersmorgan?tw_i=235808665200906240&tw_e=screenname&tw_p=tweetembed
The price tag hasn’t been confirmed me think
£15m up front, according to whom
Same goes for you pablo
Fred,
Thanks for the list pal, I never knew that
so its 4 to us and 2 from us..
Arsenal to Manchester is common, but Arsenal to Manchester United is rare and in my time its just RVP..
The only good news for Arsenal is that RVP dint end up at Citeh
Van persie’s house in london has been set on fire…..
Police think its arsene…
A new RED for all you Twitter MANIACS to follow:
https://twitter.com/Persie_Official
Well, I have been opposed to this. No arguments with RVP’s quality. But I believe this signing belies everything we have been told about our transfer policy in recent years (the need to focus on developing our younger players, the policy against buying players who will have no resale value at the end of their contracts, all of that), and I also believe it flies in the face of commonsense.
But I always try to keep an open mind, and have demonstrated this over several signings previously. If RVP works out for us, I will happily admit I was wrong. I just hope this doesn’t end up costing us the services of Welbeck and Chicharito. Cheers
so we have Batman and Fatman upfront eh?
Giggs12
FFS you’ll get mugged. Might have to be in the ground, they sold beer last season there, one of the few that did.
Well I don my understand the comments from people being down hearted about Welbeck and Hernandez not getting enough game time. We had 4 top strikers in 99 and that worked just fine. If we want to compete on both fronts (champions league and prem) this signing is a major shot in the arm for us. I feel a tad sorry for Wenger because his hands are tied at Arsenal and this must really hurt him but I don’t think deep down an Arsenal fan can begrudge him this move. He’s 29 and his chances of silverware are getting slimmer with every passing year. He gave them great service and I’m sure it was hard for him to leave them because he genuinely loved Arsenal. Their loss is our gain though and I’m bloody excited!
Dont Cha
wish your striker was RVP
Dont Cha
LOL Eric Keane!
Sandeep – get a load of this: “United tried to sign Vieira two summers ago when, according to Ferguson, the French midfielder gave his word he wanted to join, only for Arsenal to veto the move after a public war of words with his agent at the time, Marc Roger.” http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2003/jun/25/newsstory.sport4
Welcome home Robin. Wish you well as you were always a classy guy on and off the pitch. Dutch do well at United and one can only hope you continue in that tradition. Wow, what a selection headache at forward. Hernadez, Danny signing, Berbatov staying?, Machada, Wayne, Robin, and the juniors. Well I mean what a strike force! Best in years, at least on paper, let’s hope it works in rotation and we get some BLING this season! Get in United!
Piers Morgan is a bitter, bitter fellow. Of course, I can understand how the gooners feel but be a man and take it on the chin. I don’t think UTD fans were that upset when Ronaldo left because we all knew that the Gaffer had a plan to overcome the loss.
RvP RvP RvP RvP RvP
In me, you have your biggest supporter son……….Welcome home
@statesideaussie
agreed
let’s hope he stays healthy of course, but if the trophy cabinet bulges that much more come May, the money won’t affect me too much. anyone know what his wages are?
early christmas for us – and taking a look at the squad sheet, i guess that’s appropriate since the starting XI is looking more and more like a christmas tree (4-3-2-1)
Sandeep— fatman and robin is more like it..
Cedars-Glad to hear it. Gut feeling about the RVP signing is we are really back in business with intent. Have a right royal RVP pissup
Morgan going ape on twitter. Lovin it.
911
Hi lovie,i share your sentiments.
GGMU!!!!!
Sandeep – I’ll never forget Fabregas’s “come and get me” plea to United either:
“I love the way they play, they are a great side. I always watch them play and they are the only team I really like watching in England every week.”
“Of course I love the way Man United play and Old Trafford is a great stadium. When you play there you always have a feeling that you are a footballer and it is a big game. For me, I hope to stay here [Arsenal] for all my life but in football you never know and Man United I like.”
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-491279/Fabregas-admits-I-admire-United-Arsenal-club-forever.html
Every Arsenal player secretly dreams of playing for United. We are THE team in England, and always will be.
Cedars,
who is your son?

What a load of ……
911 devil got my info from bbc reporter who broke the news.tbh dont really give a shit this is a big big signing and fuck me this has made my summer.
England 2-1 Italy. 1st win v Italy in somat like 20yrs. What went right? Look no further than Carrick. Carrick and Cleverly kept the ball and moved it up the park. Who know? Well most United fans for one.
Get in Michael!
So now there’s not just impostors but imporstors talking to each other.. Who’s seen that before
Bloody hell, the freak is now talking to himself………..Fucking bizarre……..I think it was mancdub who mentioned that a psychologist would have a field day with this freak
@LUHG
Not a bad article by Doron, just a shame it’s ruined by the transfer budget bit. He should know better as our budget has been 20-25mill every season so the IPO hasn’t changed things. While that’s what is budgeted there would seem to be further funds set aside beyond the transfer budget for key transfers so this doesn’t rule out further transfers either this season or in future seasons
Goat will be livid with the news bulletin.
Haha!!
Talking to myself
WTF
This is for Hernandez in Mexico hours before the RVP deal was announced.
United Striker Ready For increased Competition
By Vanessa Keller: Subscribe to Vanessa’s RSS feed
August 15, 2012 9:46 AM GMT
Javier Hernandez insists that he is ready for the increased competition that will come with being a striker for Manchester United next season, as speculation continues to surround a deal for prolific goal scorer Robin van Persie.
Hernandez got off to a flying start in his first season with the Red Devils, garnering comparisons to the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
While injuries stopped him from being able to repeat his successful first campaign, the Mexico international believes that the competition involved in playing for one of Europe’s biggest clubs will give him the motivation to show how good he can be this time around.
“Like I always say, there are parts of your life when you’re going to have competition,” he told the United website.
“Even if you’re in the youth team you will have competition in your position, that’s normal.
Javier Hernandez is ready to play his part in Manchester United’s title push.
“I think having that competition in the team can be good, to keep fighting for that place will make you and the other players play at their best because everyone – the strikers, the midfielders, the defenders, the goalkeepers – all want to be in the XI so they need to keep improving and work hard.
“It’s normal for a footballer, so I’m going to be ready whenever the gaffer wants me to play. If it’s one minute or 90 minutes, I want to do my best to help the team win titles.”
Hernandez has already won a title with United, in a season where the side came painstakingly close to taking a Champions League trophy as well.
And the 24 year old says it’s his dream to repeat the achievements of 1999 with United in his career, by achieving the treble at the very least.
He explained: “My real dream – and I swear it is not about scoring the biggest goal – is to win the Treble.
“One year at least, I want to win the league, I want to win the Champions League – we were so close in my first year – and I want to win the FA Cup and the League Cup.
“I think the Treble is the most complicated thing in the world for any club to win. So that is my dream, to lift all those trophies in one season.”
I truly hope Robin Butter Knees Persie proves me wrong.
P.S I love you Berbatov
lololol
Pablo
We have been crying out for such signing
Imo don’t give a fuck
What the price was
Its going to be a great signing
He can play on the left too
Bring on the toffees
Nice one Carrick and Cleverley! Sounds like they ran the show. Bodes well for the new season.
Wakey
Mate give yourself a break put your balance sheets down and enjoy RvP
@Giggs12
I completely agree mate. Midfield last year was sans Scholes, Cleverley, Fletcher and Anderson for the majority of the season and we still lost on goal difference. With these players hopefully avaialble for selection and the likes of Powell, Petrucci, Tunicliffe, I don’t really see the urgency of a central midfielder.
But, I do hope we can buy a good LB because Evra is too erratic nowadays to play each game.
RVP did not come cheap at 29 years. We still need cover at the back and a holding midfielder.
OMG OMG, just came home to the most amazing news ever!!! Still cant believe it! Welcome home van persie.
Hahahaha Arsenal, such a sad club. Once again, their captain leaves them! Vermaelen is leaving next summer, mark my words!
Cedars
What happened to you when u heard the news??
Ur son actually joined the team!
Cedars
This freak really takes the biscuit. Pretends to be a woman who has had a hard days work training the ‘Lasses’ yet when he posted the comment it was only 1:30pm in Venezuela. What a hard days work that is.
Rio on Carrick tonight:
“Carrick is one simple but effective player….just what we need. The simple things in football are hard to do consistently well.”
“What do you mean “he has got to want to play for his country” Alan??? This is what gets me, Carricks M.O.M and ya looking for angles on him!”
I guess that’s aimed at Alan Shearer? Geordie tosser.
Lebomanc
Hello my love…….I cannot begin to describe my joy! Over the moon

Hi
I really need your help.People dont love me here. How did you win them over?Any payments that im supposed to make?If not pliz give m tips.

Top point lad
Had uncle roy taken him to euros, it would of been worthwhile
Here is the release from United:
http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2012/Aug/manchester-united-agree-deal-for-robin-van-persie.aspx
Some are saying the initial deal is much less than £24, but will rise with performance and united trophies over next 4 years. Think the number of £15 posted by several reds makes more sense.
1. Congrats to all those that wanted him at OT.
2. I eat humble pie – I honestly thought this was too expensive at too old a player with injury issues spanning his whole career.
3.Bad luck Wellbeck, signing the deal probably wasnt the best thing for you now was it?
4.Does that make Hernandez 4th striker – wow. I bet he wished Madrid came in for a bid, I know Mourinho was keen.
5.Thanks for your loyal service Berbatov, you have been fantastic. United have gone kick and chase and being utterly frustrating – Berba I suppose England isnt ready for a skilled footballer quite yet.
The only things that can save this deal for me are
1.Van Persie fails his medical like I said yesterday (wink wink nudge nudge know what I mean say no more say no more) only for Van Persie to join us next year on a free bee.
2.This is the end of “I do wot i want” Rooney and we see Berbatov and Van Persie together with United actually being able to pass around the box instead of stumbling and tripping over water retaining fat ankles (Rooney).
3.Rooney stays, and Berbatov stays and Rooney does indeed play in midfield???
4.I wake up and its all a bad dream, read the paper and see England lost 0-4 to Italy and Cleverley got sent off and the whole affair blamed on him.
Dont know what to think. Im not going to say Im happy!!!
Can you feel the wind of change?
Kagawa – Bundesliga player of the year, wanted to come to United
RVP – PL player of the year, wanted to come to United
Cleverley – man of the match tonight and Englands most talented midfielder
Beat City to Powell and that chliean striker
Vidic back – SAY NO MORE!
De Gae, Jones, Evans, Smalling, Wellbeck, Chicharito, Rafael a year older
Anderson – must perform this season, can only be a pluss, or nothing lost
Even Woy now aknowledge Carricks worth (we know)
+ Evra looked sharp, 3 very good wingers, best 2nd goalkeeper in the PL
and… Scholes. Unique player. Let’s use him smart
I’ll eat my hat if we don’t win the league!
Jimmy James
Sick fucker is doing my head in, on the other side of things you can only laugh at how fucking pathetic and bizarre he is
Cedars – You got your man!!! Still think it’s a bad move though
Any man who treats a lady like a princess is proof she has been brought up by a queen.
Eric Keane
stop trying to goad me.Your dark side came to the fore yesterday and you are a dreg imo.steep forward cedars……
Mate pliz stop addressing me.post away but leave me out of your posts.thank you.
Oh and P.S
Buy Macheda, you werent really given a chance and you are young but there isnt a place for you for atleast 4 years.
What a waste.
Cedars
Hey, was overjoyed too! Still can’t imagine the goals and excitement he would bring to the team
But does that mean chico is leaving though?
And which number is he gonna take?
Welbeck and Hernandez have time on their side. They still need to learn more and honestly, they aren’t fully established senior players. Their time will come.
Play for the present but prepare for the future and Sir Alex has and always does this. Welbeck and Chicha can grab headlines by performing through competitive spots. Rooney should be fresher as well throughout the season.
Goat
So not only do you have a big house, a jag, a pool you also know Mourinho…..
The team that wouldn’t die
Wow
It makes all sweeter
I’m really proud to be a manc
What the fuck is with ROM spies
They are delirious @sara
The team that wouldn’t die
You said chico and Wellbeck a year older – what goods that they just got demoted!
Am thinking some one should ring help for the split personality on here, who it is stalking should be worried
Berbatov to do a “Brian McClair” and give up his #9 for our new hitman imo.
Giggs12Gerrard0
An ok size house 2 jags (a 420G or Mk10 and I have a Mk2), pool yes but its not olympic size and no i dont know Mourinho, there was rumours after his first season that he was going to put in a bid. Press reports on here obviously, what would I do hanging around a show off dago. Dont think we’d get on.
Oh you’d like that wouldn’t you Fred!

Why doesn’t he have a nice long conversation in Portuguese with Portuguese Princess. I’d be more than happy to talk to a fellow Countryman / Woman if this was a Benfica blog and a Brit showed up.
He hasn’t even acknowledged her. Oh sorry sara did.

james21- we have a tranny in the house?. ahh if shes red thats ok
Can see people’s logic when this was an investment risk too good to pass up.
A year from now, when he’s on a free, he can go to a PL rival capable of winning. Buying RvP takes this scenario out. Say he does get hurt, you have cover that was better today than last year.
Rooney doesn’t have to carry the load and can be rested mid-week or come on from the bench.
The defense is the only place of the team where margin of error is slim, which includes injuries.

How can it be a bad move mate? We now have one of the best finishers in world football on our books….

Mixed feelings about the signing. Undoubtedly, when fit, he is a match winner and a sublimely gifted talent with more pace and urgency than Berba. Speaking of him,I think we will now see a bid accepted for him and the No.9 will go to Van Persie.
I can’t help thinking that this may be a kick up the arse to Rooney and he may see more bench time this season. Fergie might just be getting his fill of his attitude – contract and wage demands? fitness issues? claiming Utd lack ambition? under Fergie??? going on the piss, resulting in being dropped for the Blackburn game, that we subsequently lose, and go on to lose the league on goal difference!!! Rooney needs to know that he is not bigger than our club. i don’t think that Fergie has forgotten any of the above.
Onde e que esta a portuguesa princesa??

Point 5 is good. And Van Persie wasn’t that bad to get when Ferguson only plays Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez.
So much needs to happen now to see Berbatov alongside Van Persie… I would want to see that combination though. Just to see beautiful composed football one more time from Berbatov.
The starving Ferguson sit round the bare table, staring at their empty plates, wondering where Alex and the money are. Finally, after an age, the front door opens.
“What did you get, what did you get, bread, beef, cheese ?”
“No.”
“Eggs, potatoes, pasta ?”
“No.”
“What did you get then ? We’re about to pass out from hunger.”
“Nae bother. I got some really overpriced raspberry vinegar.”
“And ?”
“And some really balsamic vinegar.”
“And ?”
“And you know that square meal we had a few years ago ?”
“Yes ?”
“I brought it out of retirement, and that Brazilian food that’s completely inedible – we can eat that.”
DreadedRed-Ha ha fantastic
When was the first time you saw him play? Mine was the Charity Shield in 2004 when they beat us 3-1. I remember making fun of his name.
@Fred
If he’s going to leave (which I hope to fuck he does), he should allow the number to go elsewhere. I always hate it when numbers from 1-11 remain vacant. Depends on what RVP wants too. What if he wants 10?
Goat
Chico and Welbz will be ok as were teddy and ole in 99. Your clutching with Macheda as you hate being wrong and humble pie doesn’t taste nice in goat world I’m presuming. Just enjoy a world class footballer being added to the fold, let Fergie worry about he plays them. It’s a nice feeling the boss knows you need youth and proven talent. Or as I asked Slim do you know more than Fergie?
Tappy I think so aswell
Well it stinks me you know….
I wonder
Its a damn same language, how can’t be the same???
Looking at RvPs record, it’s obvious he won’t play 50 games. More likely 30+. Welbeck and Chicha will play many games this season and more and more games in the next 2-3 years. (as will Jones, Smalling, Tunni and maybe Lingard)
Like most reds I feel sorry for Berba. Class act. He will probably leave the club with mixed emotions, but also memories of beeing the top scorer in a season United won the league. For most players in the world that would be remarkable. What ever people say, I think he can be proud of that seaon and the way he has behaved in the media. There is a corner for him in the United history. If RvP is ever to make a name of his own remains to be seen.
Cleverley. When you compare him to Rodwell… OMG

I think Im actually angry over this deal the more I think of it.
20 million pounds + upwards of 8-10 million pounds a year in wages for Van Persies first year. Are we so fucking flush that we demote two young strikers, say goodbye to a world class star in Berbatov and say goodbye to Macheda because theres no fucking point in him staying.
If we had have waited one fucking year. If he said he wanted to come here and he’s made his mind up we could have saved 20 million pounds. If he couldnt wait for us or he couldnt stay at Arsenal for one year because it would feel uncomfortable then is he really the man good enough for United.
One year, saying that Rooney couldnt wait for his missus for a couple of months so he fucked a whore. What is wrong with the world why is prematurely ejaculating all over me!!!!
Costas – I remember that we sold Saha just in time to register Berbatov as our #9. The same might happen this time but we’re not hearing of any suitors for the big man. I like our starters to have proper numbers, and I think Fergie does too.

Translate the above please. The clock is ticking. Tick Tock.
Portuguese princess porque?
Persie #9, Berbatov #29. YHIHF
@goatinaunitedshirt Agreed.
We dont need him. I fear for Welbeck’s future. He needs games regularly to progress. Not the kind of player that can sit out for large patches and improve through the odd game and training.
Sigh. And this probably means we wont sign a midfielder. We need cover for Carrick.
Oh shit!!! I’m so fucking late to this party. Where the fuck is Cedards??? He is probably covered on his own cum LOL!!!!
Fucking great signing. Those complaining, fuck off
Jk
Love Chicha and Wellbeck, they’ll get their run, but we needed that extra class upfront since the departure of Ronnie and Tevez.
Who’s that guy we signed from Arsenal? who’s that guy that’s gonna score?
It’s not Viv or George Graham, even Frankie Stapleton.
It’s Van Persie & you know he’s gonna score!!

Same here too. That’s why I hope Rafael finally picks the number 2 jersey.
Another similar situation that comes to mind is the Hargreaves/Heinze one. Owen was given the number 4 shirt even before Heinze was sold. I remember he got 14 for a brief period of time that summer. So it wouldn’t surprise me if RVP got 9 with Berba still here. As things stand, I have a feeling Berba will leave as he came. On the last day of the transfer window.

Also, thanks for the ITK you bring us without fanfare. Respect is due.
More importantly, goals will be coming from all over the pitch now, and Rooney vs RVP for top scorer might just be the hot poker that Wayne needs to get into contention for the ballon d’or.

Who likes the taste of humble pie?
Im totally thrown by this, everyone here saying we have another world class striker and will give Rooney a break – couldnt agree with you more – but why does it have to be a 29 year old, with dodgy ankles when hes a freebee next year. Why not buy Llorente, why not pick up the polish kid at Dortmund, Why not many a name, but why a 29 year old what fucking future is there in a 29 year old. For those that never watch football a strikers dead on his feet at 33-34 theres always a newer fresher faster version (which we have 2 of). What a waste of money.
Really a buggered 29year old. I bet you he’s injured within the first month and he spends the entire fucking year on the treatment table. I realise his wages are covered by insurance IF hes insurable after his history but his transfer fee isnt insurable UNLESS its the end of his career then there may be a clause.
All this has done is guaranteed 3rd spot in the league without much effort. Of course we can win it, i thought that without vPersie but Arsenal will be another 15 points back and there isnt any other team within 30 points of the top. Atleast we can celebrate the fact we’ve qualified for the champions league. Maybe thats the brief from the Glazers ??? Who knows.
Dr. he was colse then he turned his ankle, then Messi fuck 70+ goals breaking European records. But I here you Kagawa, Clevs and RVP wow, Robin passes, and gets assist as well. 3 double double guys, Kagawa, RvP and Rooney. Say MUFC win the CL and Rooney is in the ball park of Messi’s #’s just maybe!

What does it translate as. If you want me to tell you then I will but surly I shouldn’t have to translate to you because you are Portuguese. Well claim to be.
@ Costas, I have the same feeling regarding Berba. I still had a bit of hope that he would stay in the end but after this news today I cannot see it happen. I will miss the Bulgarian God and Berbagasms so much lol
Interesting prime target; obviously, SAF believes that attack is the best form of defence.
As to how/where RvP will play, I think that what we’ll see is some kind of mutating 4-1-4-1 with TheWayneBoy and KagawaBunga behind the central striker and two wingers – so, five attacking players ahead of Michael Carrick. SAF always plays with wingers and likes to have overlapping full-backs, too.
Like StateSideAussie has written on numerous occasions, this means abandoning the notion of an “old-fashioned” 4-4-2 in favour of a much more mobile, interchanging system in order to get the most out of players with very high skill-levels.
If that’s the case, then MIchael Carrick becomes the single most important player on this year’s team-sheet because of his irreplaceable portfolio of skills. Carrick’s ability to shield the central defence by breaking up attacks is based on reading-the-game NOT being just an ankle-biting destroyer. If this is correct, then defending in midfield becomes more Barcelona-esque in that all the attacking players have to pressure-the-ball rather than having a designated ball-winner.
SAF has always been a gambler – and signing RvP for this kind of new “formation” after falling short by goal difference last year is a clear departure from a “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” policy. Something like this seemed to be in operation in the first few weeks of last season but it was badly de-railed by YoungTom’s injury and, most of all, the debacle at OT in October when TheLads were embarrassed by ManShitty. The cumulative impact of injuries – and more injuries with no suitable replacements for YoungTom AND Anderson – meant that SAF “turtled”, abandoning the free-for-all experiment and opting for a much more constricted style in order to grind-out-results.
Signing RvP is a big gamble because the crafty OldFootieKnight is going back-to-the-future and setting up the 2012/2013 season to make attack the best form of defence. I think it’s going to be an exhilarating roller-coaster ride. Bring it on !
Am as happy as bitter in Abu jizz, carnt wai see to see RVP in gingham
Mixed emotions is all i can say…
i know that SAF know what he is doing..but he said that the politic of the club will be that he wont buy any player over 26 yo for big money…so im confused know…another thing is that in my opinion is more important that we spent that money on midfield player than on striker although we have now real class strikers…but middle is the key for this season..MVilla or som like that was also target or Martinez…i mean RVP is 29 and get contract like Roo…that is to much imo
Goat:
In an ideal world RvP should have stayed at Arsenal. In that world Rooney would never have uttered that garbage he said back in 2010. In that world Macheda would have continued to score goals like he did against Aston Villa… In that world George Best would have played untill the same age as Giggs and scored 400 goals. In that world Ronaldo would have said f**k you to Real and stll be at United having scored 200+ goals for us.
Well. it’s not like that and we have a manager that moves on. Makes some mistakes, but are more right than wrong and are still MY HERO!
I like this world for all it’s mistakes. But the United player to admire more than any (apart from Cantona) is Scholes. We are so lucky to have him for a last season. I think this season can be really big!
Am as happy as bitter in Abu jizz, carnt wait to see RVP in gingham, that’s better Ma fucking IPhone’s drunk

Waste of money? Do you see our interest rates, the PIKs we once had they were a waste of money yet you defend our model to the nines. Adding the most prolific striker last year to compliment our young squad is the perfect scenario for me. 2 years at which point Wellbeck will be as good as there is around what’s the point bringing in an unproven 23 year old from Dortmund. Llorente who is nowhere near Van Persie’s level. If they were the alternatives then fuck me I’m glad we have wrapped this up.
Wow what a summer, Powell, Kagawa, Rodriguez, RvP, and a young Sean Goss. More to come?
Almost in a haze for weeks waiting and now SAF says HELLO, HERE WE GO!!!!! ON THE ROAD TO 20!!
STUNED, as many point out not a typical MUFC transfer, sure ?’s I leave it there. No concern. So he gets hurt, hello Danny, and Lil Pea, Keane back in March to compete and Rodman, Kiko a wing? Thanks for you Berba. wowowowowowowwowo3wo3

And pretty much wrong with your translation. Some words correct but even a dummy like me who speaks no Portuguese found them on Google.
Michael carrick, looking classy and smooth. Exactly what they needed, controlled the tempo and surely, if hodgson has any sense, michael would be a starter.
Cleverly also impressed. The italians were out to hack him out but he’s an intelligent footballer. His inclusion and accumulation of games for the GB team has helped. Looks sharp, links up play and is invetive. We’ll hopefully get all the benefits. I hope he stays fit.
Disappointing news regarding muamba. hoped he’d return to football at some point but health is paramount. Good fortune to him.
And finaly, Robin van persie. As much as negatives will be rolled out (transfer fee, age, blah blah blah) there’s no doubting his world class ability, he’ll make a difference.

Andy Carroll 35 mil

I couldn’t care how much a player coat anymore, so much goes on debt any money invested in the team is a good thing for me.
I love tasting humble pie.
Yum Yum
True as fuck
Denton … good post back at 22:52. I couldn’t agree more with your comments about Carrick. He may indeed become the most critical player for us this season. Unfortunately, some people on here will never ever get the concept of defense by intelligent shielding, as opposed to defense by hard-core tackling. But these days, a crafty stiletto can be more much effective than a two-handed broadsword. Cheers mate.
Kebab, I see you have mentioned, you have not seen Kagawa play yet. I agree with the CDM addition. With that said, let me ask you to make an observation when the games start. Shingi moves all the time quick to go after the ball in defense. I ask you this, His defensive style blocks angles as he closes, then as the 2nd or 3rd man in he effects the game such I believe Clevs can be a CDM in this set up. I ask your thoughts on this in a few weeks. Then Carrick, Scholes and Anderson become a spine enough to stand up to any team. ???
Night Sachu.
I for one can understand why SAF splash the cash for a prooven player. Every season can be his last. He deserves to go out on a high. And WE CAN’T LET CITY WIN THIS YEAR: WE JUST CAN’T!!!!!!!!!!!!
Giggs12 – exactly, some of us try desperately to be proclaimed accountants. Loads of positives regarding van persie. He’s world class, we’ll do some serious damage if all our forwards link up.
Giggs12
Central midfield. You know that area of the pitch that allows
all the attacking players you just mentioned play.
That area we struggled with all if last season. There’s quality players in there no doubt. It’s just not performing. They’ll do the job and help see out most sides but that doesn’t mean it’s all aces.
There still had to be a defensive discipline that’s lacking somewhat. It’d amazing we call bull Shit on tiki taka yet we going into the season with 90% attack minded MF.
What is like to know is what happens when/if carrick picks up a knock or injury. Do we stumble like we did when we lost Clevs or stick Phil Jones in.
Out CM isn’t “fine” it needs some work and some of that work would be in house, the rest will be sorted out by purchase. Nick p you say, I say to you Paul Pogba.. forget his money moves, the lad could have played some part in the campaign. Big saying he was the missing link but it would have been interesting to see what unfolded
Sachu merda
Hey Staeside , we have discuses this as well, Carrick the man, a formation change at hand!
Please respond to my last post as well. I like Kagawa’s team defense, then bam he turns already knowing his options and the counter explodes!
What’s really worrying is only 911 looked at my posts,an av so much to give lol
why are people banging on about welbeck and hernandez being surplus to requirments. we need four strikers!! they’ll all be rotated and get games, what the fuck you whinging about!!
Giggs12, I went back and reread those posts, fuck me sideways!! I could not understand myself. Think I had a point???
Giggs12Gerrard0
Im not doubting Van Persies ability, If he was 24-25 Id be over the fucking moon. But we have signed him with the view of him being here what 4 to 5 years. Then why not just say 3-4 years and save 20 million pounds. Do you honestly think that the introduction of Van Persie changes us for a team that cant win against Basil to one that will beat Barcelona in the final because of the difference in play of Van Persie in relation to Wellbeck.?
I have defended the interest payments of the glazers because the glazers buy up of MAnchester United is great for the long term. Theyve already shaved 50% off the initial loaned ammount to buy the club in only 6 odd years. The interest payments are less than half what they were when they first bought the club due to dropping rates, better deals and less of a debt. When all payed up we have owners that will give the manager permission to do as he fucking pleases without having to have an investors board meeting and worry about share prices. The shares released now is with the knowledge that they dont have to give a fuck as no dividends are paid out, no voting rights and theyve already pocketed the money.
Van Persie shows very little long term in the way money management. Its a terrible investment. 20 million for 1 year, no resale value due to age, expensive insurance for a buggered player.
Alot are going on about how the pairing will score shit loads of goals well Wellbeck and Rooney would do that. Say Rooney gets 30, say Wellbeck would have got 18 say VPersie gets 30. You are essentially paying 20 million pounds plus an increase over Wellbeck of 4 million in wages for that year all for 12 goals. Thats 2 million pound a goal. It could jeopardise Wellbecks development or confidence in which case his value drops, as does Hernandez whose now the 4th striker. Its starting to look like were paying 3-4 million for every extra goal.
It doest sit well with me. Dont get me wrong Ill cheer him on and welcome hm to the club but fucking hell really – is this a bad dream???
One thing will make it better for me and seen as Sir Alex gives fuck all for his rule on big money transfers over 26year olds. Swap Rooney for Kaka.
I had reservations as well, but he’s close to being a Red. Shut the fuck up and get behind the lads!
United! United! United! United! 19
Monday night futbol!
Samuel
Indeed mate if every manager in the league is asked would you like to have RvP, everyone of them is saying yes.
Would you like last year’s player of the season who incidentally scored the most goals?
Willie was it Raspberries? Ala-mode for me mate.
You’d think hernandez and welbeck are at the club to put their feet up and have an easy route into the first team. Both need loads of work on their game, a player like van persie will push them to improve and even Rooney will have to fight for his place. Four quality strikers.
Zibbie – we have so many possible combinations in midfield and attack it will make opposition managers’ heads spin.
LUHG posted an article earlier and it echoes my thoughts. Quality player and the attack combinations are exciting. A lot are quickly ruling out Danny and Hernandez. Granted there’s some competition bit if it all goes well I can see the gaffer giving the junior forwards proper game time. Just wish we’d do some thing more definitive in the middle of the park as we’ve done on the wings and forward positions over the years.
FRED ME MAIN FLINTSTONE ME 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah google translator can be your undoing when you are trying to write in Portuguese. Better luck next time Sachu.
@Zibbie
We’ll see. If we establish a midfield pair that’s willing to shield the back four, that’s all I ask. There’s also the small matter of them remaining fit though…
That twat Morgan still banging on in twitter. I don’t know who the bigger prick is, him or 911.
Slim
No I dont know that area of a pitch I have only ever played semi pro, am a UEFA B licensed coach, worked at two premier league clubs and watched united all my life …..
Tell me more a out this CM position you know of, it would see Sir Alex doesnt know either maybe we should get red issue to write him a letter
It’s all about opinions mate, sir Alex has one as well and it would seem he agrees with me.
Giggs12 – he’s a class act mate. An opportunity to sign player like that arises and FERGIE grabs it. Any manager in world football would pick van persie up. His age and transfer fee would be brought up but we spent on berba and i’d say van persie is better than the bulgarian. I fail to see the negatives. He’s a player for the now, we’ll hopefully benefit within his contractual time.
It’s not a bad investment when you use the player and the player doesn’t go to City. Look past the value on the pitch. City don’t get him, Juventus don’t get him, etc.
He makes training harder, the players around him better. He was Arsenal’s captain. He looks after himself and will challenge everybody, including Rooney. Sir Alex can drop Rooney to the bench or all together when he can call upon Kagawa, Welbeck, Chicha and Nani playing a forward role.
911 your a weird mofo, let’s be friends haha
Thanks Kebab, your eyes will be pleased by Shingi Kagawa.
MUST now trying to take credit for the deal. Unnecessary from them. Some also said this was a make believe bid…an attempt to sell season tickets- total idiocy. A good strike force, Stable defence and a decent midfield. Man United are good to go!
I was right! Fergie offered £22.5mill fig rolls, but Wenger wanted £24mill jaffa cakes. A compromise was met!
RvP in gingham shirt will be a sight to behold. Nice timing too, the shirt numbers will be established on Friday.
Can this be the new song. please. please. please.
His Name is Persie, Robin Van Persie!
He makes me happy, as bright as day!
Oh Arsene Wenger go on a bender

perhaps you should look at home sometimes, perhaps FERGIE already sees midfielders at the club to solve the issue. Your own idea is to desperately get in players.

@Zibbie
Hope so pal.
Samuel
Exactly what I have been saying people have been so desperate for a CM they have missed what has happened at the club. Scholes has come back better than when he retired, Clev has .ow arrived and playing internationally, Anderson looking trim and clearly being given the opportunity. That’s three players that were either retired or injured now all back in the fold. Add to that the Rolls Royce of Carrick and I fail to see where we are not fine in that dept?
Kagawa, Rooney, van persie, welbeck, hernandez, nani, valencia, young. We’ll pull teams around in any competition, we have some match winners that can individually swing victory our way. We obviously can’t play them all at once, we need balance but there’s no doubt that the feel good factor is here.
I was straight fucking with you sorry
slim – it was more to do with injury’s last year, anderson cleverly carrick all were injured, and by the time april came round, we only had carrick giggs and scholes left. This season we may see the end of injury’s in midfield, and if all goes well the likes of cleverly kagwa powell 3 young pups could really make a diffeence, adding the reliable carrick, scholes can do a good job, giggs can make an impact, even fletcher may slowly return come september october, and adding the pace in valencia and nani, with the firepower of rooney RVP welbeck hernandez, we have a really powerful squad. Fulllback and defense ae real question marks
He sits on our bench, your van persie he sits on our bench haha
Zibbie & Costas – we have more possible midfield combinations than I can count, but if we were going toe to toe with Citeh in a title decider tomorrow, I’d play this combo:
……………Carrick…………
…..Cleverley………..Kagawa
Big Yaya wouldn’t even see the ball, let alone get a touch of it. The pass masters.
Zibbie that Monday Night Football song is hilarious. I’m definitely listening to that on Monday night to get myself psyched for the Everton game. Cheers!
RvP in so many knowen and unknown ways will make up and surpass all monies paid.
Extra Kit sales., all the wishey washy plastic Asian fans will jump ship to MUFC rating hike, more shit sold. Trophies, a deep run in the CL. Prestige a Q rating what the public things of you. Shit here SAF get enough abuse for missing out on all big targets, 4 big target this summer said yes to MUFC.
Powell hottest UK young player, 5/6 rule key, Kagawa, best CAM going, Rodriguez sorry shity it’s MUFC for me.
but no bad business. This is big entertainment business.
Must say – another positive from this deal is Rooney receiving some serious competition for once. I can’t see Robin being as “accommodating” as Berbatov, can you?
Wazza has needed a kick up the arse for a while now imo, the problems been signing a Striker who arrives believing they are the best in the world. For a pittance, Robin isn’t coming here to warm the bench in silence he’ll be out to prove he’s the best Striker we have, and considering Wazzas public claims of superiority over the Squad its about time we’ve signed a Striker capable of challenging him.
As for Berbatov, I honestly think he’s happy to stay and fight for his place. His wage expectation is preventing his departure so if he really was desperate to be an auto-starter he could make a move happen tomorrow. Don’t feel too sorry for him lady and gents, im sure the manager will test run a partnership with RVP, and if they click we’ll see Rooney forced to get back in the team. Thats how things should be, isn’t it? Enjoy it.
Meanwhile will the papers describe this as an earth-shattering blow to CIty’s title ambitions? Will they now declare us clear favourites for the crown? Will they fuck. I bet swathes of journos are weeping into their frothy cappuccinos right now. The fact is, if United became a fading force these vultures would feast off us forever – it would be the equivalent of Christmas every day for these parasites and thats why they pray and pray for our downfall (to quote Willierednut aka Biggie Smalls)
Meanwhile Fergie has just pulled the biggest transfer deal in recent memory out the bag. RVP to United? Fuck me, if thats not a statement of intention, what is? Also lads, none of us know more than Fergie so the decision to settle for Kagawa, Powell and the Reserve lads regarding new blood in midfield should tell you something about our existing players, even though waiting for it all to click might be frustrating for some.
Personally I fucking love it haha. Alex Ferguson is a genius and if RoM has shown me anything its remembering to sit back and enjoy watching everything come together. God knows how much long we’ll see a master at work….
i havnt even read the 400+ comments on this thread and i can already say….
someone please get cedars another box of tissues
and the fans that are most likely complaining.. SHUTUP! you are probably the fans that want the glazers out and get pissed off that we dont spend big anymore. we have just brought in kagawa, powell, angelo and VAN PERSIE, top scorer and player of the season last year so stop complaining. for the first time in a very long time our line-up is no longer predictable and we can give players like tunnicliffe a chance a little earlier then we normally would because we have incredible players like rooney, RVP, scholes, carrick, vidic to make up for any mistakes they may possibly make.
also more importantly… Kagawa, RVP, powell and angelo > rodwell, who if you ask me is a replacement for yaya toure cause he wont stick around much longer now they are fucking kolo about.
Zibbie – that’s a lot of knowns, unknowns, and even “known unknowns” as Georgie boy would say.
Zibbie – Question is, are you ready? Bring it on! MNF!
Heard on Twitter, there’s another significant announcement tomorrow, besides the impending arrival of RvP. I do hope it’s Welbeck’s new deal. That should be a formality. Lets get Nani tied down to a long term deal as well. Great week so far….
ooh yeah also…
VAN VAN HES OUR MAN, IF HE CANT DO IT ROONEY CAN.
and so on and so fourth…
wow Yes Fred!
Sammy so spot on! Feel good factor…. I’m buzzing on happy endorphin’s… :mrgeen: and some shank.
Giggs12 – agreed. We can’t deny the fact that anderson is looking sharp and fitter. He’s been beset with injuries, his unprofessionallism at times can also be pointed out but FERGIE would have warned him to bulk up his ideas. He has the talent and if we can get him firing, he’s a very good player. Cleverly as you say is looking sharp and fit, he’ll contribute this season hopefully. Carrick plays like a ferrari, controls the tempo and looking confident. FERGIE talks about him taking time to get going but let’s up he can kick on. I know pressure shouldn’t be placed on younger players but we have them in abundance and at the right age of them slotting in with more seasoned campaigners, they can only flourish. little negative here and there but positives aplenty.
FERGIE will have problems picking players now. Options everywhere, hopefully we keep our defenders fit and raring to go.
I’m ready Willie!!! Fred liked it 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!
shit have to work DVR will be on!! at 4:20 it will BE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This weekend other dudes play, hehe
My mistake that was a DMC lyric.
@RVP – Cheers for the compliment mate and welcome to OT haha!
Laters RoM.
Giggs12 me as well I feel way different compared to last year now. come on andy, do it this year!
Sammy so many proper attackers, Rooney for LB? Let his monster out, after say 17 yellow cards. Move back to forward.
Midnight good night UK people!!!
wow wtf RvP is a MUFC player….
UnitedtilliDie – positive and great post.
So the glazers finally pull the finger out of their arses hey? I hope the greedy money sucking bastards all die in a plane crash anyway, what they are doing with the IPO is scandalous.
Fergie still needs that key figure in CM, we got the attacking mid we were dreaming of but not sure carrick, scholes, giggs is gonna get it done. If anderson and cleverley stay fit then watch this space but until then we need a midfielder as top priority.
Goodnight UTID
Zibbie don’t forget Sir Ferg was also ready to pay around £30m for the young buck Lucas Moura! Wow, he went transfer crazy this summer. Sir Alexander the GREAT.
@Fred
Sounds good! And since Tom doesn’t have to deal with Kevin Davies this year, he should stay fit.
@FITB
The midfield is still filled with question marks as far as I am concerned. Fred mentioned Carrick, Tom and Kagawa lining up together and that’s probably the most likely and reliable scenario. As for the rest, I’ve seen Anderson in enough pre season games over the years to know that it matters very little how well he does there. He still has a lot to prove. As for the rest, Powell and Tunni are still too young and Ryan and Paul are too old. The latter two still have a role to play but they shouldn’t start in big games anymore. Scholes can still dictate the proceedings in those games, but as soon as his legs go, the team follows right behind. Anyway, like I said earlier, if the injuries are fewer in that department, we might patch the midfield up for one more season. Like you said though, things are more worrying in defence.
——–DDG——–
Rafa-Rio-Vida-Evra
Tony 7–Carrick–Kagawa
Nani–RvP–Ronney
This transfer really really puzzles me, couldn’t this money be used to strengthen one of the areas that needs strengthening?? like our full back positions.. RVP is a luxury don’t need. I don’t see rooney and van persie functioning together. that basically means kagawa won’t get to play in his natural position, what about chicha and welbeck’s chances? welbeck’s development? and no matter how much everyone on here dislikes berbatov, fact remains that he is one of the most mistreated players in the league and thats just unfortunate. He’s not even gonna get a game in if these 4 stay fit! and what about the likes of macheda and keane?
Can;t wait to see the kinds of formations ferguson tries out to accomodate all this firepower..All i know is that with the defensive frailties we have this year (evra is 75% percent of the player he was 2 years ago_) that vida’s fitness is going to be vital along with the versatile youngsters like rafael, smalling and jones
This summer would have been perfect if Giggsy and Scholes decided to hang up the boots and join ferrgie’s legion of coaches. That way SAF hand would have been forced and he’d have to go and get a big centre midfield signing. As it is i’m skeptical about getting panned in europe, only kagawa can save us in attacking mid with his creativity and vision.
United til I die: spot on,about Rooney needing a kick up is arse, let’s hope rvp dosent act as no2 an gives it his all
LOL Ronney. Don’t tell me he’s coming back… Wow, Fergie really is going transfer crazy. Welcome home Ron!
Can’t wait to see him pull on a united shirt! It isn’t great for the development of Wellbeck, but in order to compete and beat Citeh again we do need to push forward with big name signings like this.
Longer cup runs should ensure everyone gets enough game time to keep happy, and when it comes to the odd massive game like barca/real, then it may be the time to call RVP, where Wellbeck may not yet be at that stage. Good bit of business.
Bring on monday and 20!
Honestly how lethal is a team with Kagawa, Nani, Valencia, Rooney and RVP? Nobody is touching that team with it’s balance of finishing, speed, pace, power and vision.
Big news expected tomorrow as well. Heskey finally joining us?
Like the Z-Man, I’d like to see Tony V given a chance to shine on the right of a midfield three. With his energy and tenacity he could be our new Fletcher. Fergie, give it a go!
Costas – LOL what big news? Are you making that up?
opps
@Fred
No. I only made up the Heskey part sadly. Someone posted on twitter that a big announcement could be made tomorrow. Confirmation about RVP’s transfer? Welbeck extending his contract? Who knows. It could be hot air of course…
United Till I Die
That post was machine gun funk!
Costas – I’ve done some digging and some are saying it will be confirmation of our new sponsorship with bwin. That’s only big news if your name is FletchTHEMAN I’m afraid.
Glad to hear if our MF pair. Not so convinced about the state if affairs in there bit its really goof to hear they more than held their own and steered the team forward. Despite my worries looking forward to the start of the season and Monday
@Costas,
Don’t worry mate. Heskey’s on the way. Fergie has instructed him to lead Mancini on a merry little transfer flirtation only to join United on the 11th hour of deadline day!
People want a yaya toure but only city possess a midfielder of such incredible power and technique. What united have to do is rely on technical play and energy. We can pass teams out with composure and dominate. United have quality in that midfield, just gotta keep them fit and firing.
Full back covers can be an issue obviously. Not united’s main strength at the moment. Don’t think FERGIE sees anyone capable of displacing evra out there. He might gamble on younger players.
What baffles me is when some claim united do not have creativity in a midfield of kagawa, cleverley, anderson, carrick. All top midfielders when on their game, all clever and have passing range to open defences up, that doesn’t add up.
4231 toffees away.
DDG
Rafael Rio Vidic Evra
Carrick Clevs
Valencia RvP Kagawa
Rooney
Fred – Some rumours about naming rights. Think that’s BS myself. Probably much ado about nothing.
Gotta hope vida gets back to his best, rio needs to stay fit. Smalling will hopefully recover quickly, jones needs to keep learning and get more composed, evans will hopefully carry on his previous form. The key will be to get our defenders hopefully fit.
@costas i think the big announcement will be fergie’s statue.
All those worried about Chicha/Welbz development should understand that you need to win matches to play more matches. Out in UCL in group stages, Europa in quarters, fourth round in FA cup, bad run in Carling Cup cost a lot of matches for United and ultimately for Welbz/Chicha.
In this scenario, you introduce RVP or Rooney alternatively in matches where there is a deadlock or the team is losing and they punch in a couple of goals which ultimately means more playing time for Welbz/Chicha.
The only other place they are going to get playing time is at Carrington. I wish we stop the nonsense about RVP hindering the ‘progress’ of our young strikers.
Playing time should not be for the sake of it, it should benefit the team too. RVP is as clinical as a striker we have in the market. Surprised that a certain Russian didn’t write a check for him.
I am very happy RVP is joining united. the World class signing everyone was clamouring for looks to have been secured. He is going to improve the team NO DOUBT. don’t be fooled by reports. the real price is 15 million plus add ons depending on our success in the future. I have NO PROBLEMS with that amount of money for a such a devastating player. Sure he’s had injury problems but I think we can look after him and I think he is past that at this stage of his career. If he’s fit, I guarantee you AT LEAST 20 goals a season. Welbeck and Chicha should not be afraid. they have the opportunity to learn from two of the very best strikers in world football. This will only make them better and is only a preparation for the future when both of them ( hopefully) will be leading the line when Roo and Van Persie become old and worn out.
He can create something out of absolutely NOTHING (just see his goal against us last year) . As for creativity you don’t worry your little head about that. Valencia, Nani, Kagawa, Rooney, Carrick (occasionally) will provide the passes. I FULLY welcome him to the club with open arms. Hopefully he’s ready to go for our second game. 4-3-1-2 with RVP and Rooney upfront. FANTASTIC.
Costas – if kagwa cleverly and powell not only break through and tom himself gets over his injury problems, we are at the point where the midfield becomes a fantastic part of the squad, but that is a big IF. Carrick is always reliable, but midfield is still infested with question marks and real worry for injury’s. Defense worry’s me, all 4 positions, RB CB LB. RVP signing defiantly is seen to recreate the fear factor. We will see, esp how kagwa and RVP fit in. Say what we like oh we need a CM and 2 defenders, signing RVP and Kagwa, defiantly does improve the starting 11, and makes the impact, they are huge names signed, it really does wake the squad up seeing that type of experience and quality those 2 bring to the squad. There will be holes, but I am hoping the boss does sign a fullback, Cmon fergie, one more signing
@Costas
That rumour can only mean one thing – we’ve signed Modric too! Fuck yeah! #moneybags
Anyone else have a feeling we signed van Persie because we want to sell Rooney?
Zibbie … sorry mate, only just saw your post. I haven’t seen much of Kagawa yet. Wasn’t able to watch any of our preseason matches. I saw him for Japan against Australia a few weeks ago. He was good, but seemed to have trouble keeping the ball in a direct tackle. He was also out-shone by his teammate Honda, who really caught the eye. That said, he also plays out of position for Japan. What does seem clear (to me, anyway) is that SAF is looking for a fast, mobile front 5 or 6 who can move the ball around, fast flowing football with constant positional rotation when in attack, but the with ability to fall back and get organised very quickly in defense. And Kagawa certainly would seem to fit into that. But it’s also clear to me that Carrick and Cleverley may well be the lynchpins in that — Carrick for his ability to read the play, block off the other team’s passing lanes with his smart positional play, and move the ball forward intelligently; and Clevs for his ability to take the ball from someone like Carrick and move it forward. I hope so, anyway. Cheers mate!
While I find RVP a headscratcher in how kagwa fits Costas in, I do feel RVP will add that ruthless aggression to the attack that was lacking last season at times. Where when it was 2 0, we never upped the anti and looked for 3 4 5 6 when we should have. I do feel RVP while it is a shame for welbeck and chico, he will add that dimension that our other strikers lacked. He does fit into how the side plays, I am excited, but still confused where exactly does both kagwa and RVP will fit in, because they guaranteed starters
So, Cedars is tossing off, Goat is not too happy, or at least neutral to negative, and the reaction overall on ROm pretty much divides that way. I’m getting more enthusiastic the more I think about it, from a poor start off the bocks (sorry, post-Olympics terminology) and if the £15m plus incentives talk is true, RVP plus Kagawa for less than the dossers paid for Carroll seems good business (although the salary bothers me…nearly 10% more than mine:)). Still think/know we need a LB reinforecement, no question, and obviously we’d all like the midfield options to be greater than they are.
But as statement, and a signing to energise the fans and players (yes, even Welbz and Chich), can’t really be beat. As someone said earlier, the PL player of the year and the Bundesliga player of the year at OT in the summer sales aint bad!
I cant wait for him to grace Old Trafford and for the fans to sing his name…….HE SCORES WHEN HE WANTS, HE SCORES WHEN HE WAAAAAAAANTS, ROBIN VAN PERSIE, SCORES WHEN HE WANTS!
I’m feeling just as torn with this signing.
Great player but can be a prick
Injury concerns
Seems a perfect addition to the strike force but that will mean a downgrade for Chicarito & Welbeck. Even worse situation for Berbatov now.
Personally, I still think we need someone in centre midfield. Scholes & Giggs are at the end of their careers and with Cleverly’s injury last season, I am worried that he is not there yet. But then who am I to question Fergie.
Any one watch the Ingurland game??
How did Carrick and Cleverley get on??
Now that the distraction of signing RVP has been settled, Fergie should go all out now to sign Martinez from A Bilbao.
Not only is he the type of dominant MF the team needs, but he can also fill in as a CB should the need arise.
I personally have reservations about the ability of Rio to be able to go throughout a season with no major injury. Its all very well saying that Evans and Smalling are there for that, but whilst I have faith in their ability to cope with a EPL forward line, a quality CL forward line is something entirely different.
looks like sir alex is trying to end his career on a high note. The treble perhaps ?
Brisbanefan
Martinez is joining Bayern mate.
Willie – that’s exactly what i’m talking about. Another midfield player desperately hoped to join the club which clearly won’t happen. I’m not sure if you’ve seen the little murmur about hernandez joining arsenal? ah, what a way to end a good day with a great joke.
Midfield no problem… KAgawa is there, Fletch is back and Powell is going to be a midfield. so we are covered i think… i am more concerned about defence
Samuel – Seen that? From the mirror though, so probably tripe. Papers like to stir it, when United are the story.
anyone hear this crap about Hernandez going to Arsenal ? Anything to worry about here?
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/robin-van-persie-transfer-manchester-1263074
Guys the only thing matter here is that football returns this week.
Weeks without my football fix is just tough
Well done, we have great vibe now. Can’t wait for Monday!
On the other hand, we still need a cover for LB and a DMC. But, I think the opportunity will be given to our youths Keane, Bleckett or Vesseli to cover LB. And, a DMC will come on January.
So it looks like this RVP signing will be completed before the game vs Everton. I’m so fucking doped right now. Urggghg, 5 more days
@goatinaunitedshirt
Last season if Rooney got injured we were in trouble. Welbeck and Hernandez aren’t ready to lead the line and Berba is a confidence goalscorer so isnt really a player you can bring in for a big game to score goals if Rooneys injured (If its a longer term injury then yes Berba could do a job). Now we have someone to take the strain off Rooney, Rooney can be given tactical rests to keep him fresh and if he picks up a knock we dont have to play him. And the 2 together could be deadly. Just like 99 I expect both Welbeck and Hernandez will get a good amount of minutes. It also gives us more tactical options.
And seriously no players going to declare he is going to wait a year and then join a club. He could be completly frozen out of his current club or the buying club could lose interest. Also imho not screwing a club out of a fee actually shows a bit of integrity about a player
“why not buy Llorente, why not pick up the polish kid at Dortmund”
Both cost more, Llorente isnt that much younger and NEITHER have Premier League experiance. You see more Strikers coming from European leagues flop in England than you see succeed so getting a proven striker for less to fill a gap while Welbeck/Hernandez as well as the crop below them develop makes perfect sense.
His fee is also not £24mill but around £15mill upfront, 5mill in installments and the remaining 4mill being performance addon based. If we pay £24mill then it will ultimatly have been worth every penny otherwise we will have paid £20mill which is still a fairly good deal
And ACTUALLY the transfer fee is recoverable from Insurance in the event of a signficant injury, for example United received a payout when Hargreaves was disposed off. Players are assets and are depreciated as such and are depreciated in the accounts over the length of their contract. So Hargreaves cost 17mill and had a 4 year contract, so each yeah he depreciated by £4.25mill. So after his first season he was worth £12.75m and as this was when he stopped being able to play so the insurance payout would have been in the region of £12.75m as thats how much he was worth at the time.
@Costas & Colbert
I wouldn’t be surprised if it is another player being signed. Fergies been very vocal about his targets this summer and although they are obvious targets that the media have been all over (and their clubs have announced our interest) he would usually stay silent. Perhaps he has been using the media to divert attention from another deal in the works
Personally..I think RVP is good acquisition, not only is he a proven goal score,he’s also dead ball specialist as well. With Service from Nani,Young ,Valencia and Kagawa(did I forget Scholes?!),he will banging goals,if he stays fit.So welcome to OT,RVP..May your dreams come true!!!
Late to the party,Fee doesn’t matter if he delivers, bold statement imo, tells me Sir Alex is going to go out in style.
Next time we have to win at City won’t be playing for the draw, fucking exciting stuff
Last year Utd spent 18 mill on a young goalie almost as much on Jones, this year total opposite on a player that makes the team potent immediately,22 mill can we please put to bed Utd have no money to spend
Thanks
If this has already been said, sorry on my phone to many posts
Utd till I die: post of the night, so very well put.
Wakey: Exactly how I feel. SAF is not fucking around. Here we come.
3-5-2 formation pls…
rooney rvp
kagawa
nani scholes carrick valencia
smalling vidic ferdinand
cant for the 1st match…
Is it not just me that thinks that if arsenal don’t win anything next year and them essentially being a top class feeder that we should put in a cheeky £25-£35 mil bid in for wilshere??
I feel for Welbeck and Hernandez…and I hope Henriquez gets to continue his football education either back home where he gets to play regular football.
Just finished watching the Mexico-USA friendly. The US won in Azteca Stadium for the first time ever. Chicharito and the rest of the Mexican side was booed viciously as they left the pitch. Hernandez had several good chances at goal, but he just couldn’t get it in the back of the net. As the commentators were pointing out, he just hasn’t looked like himself since the concussion last summer.
Fuck Van Persie, we don’t need that cunt.
He’s gonna halt the progress of Welbz and get in the way of Chicha for at minimum 3 season. Our players now, should take priority. SAF is looking for a quick fix to our lack of star quality or magic (since ronaldo left). The only reason I can think of why he couldn’t refuse to pass up the opportunity is that the old mastermind has gone wild and crazy for his last CL trophy and will try and get it at all costs.
Only then can this move be justified. But FFS, seriously this guy even disrupts Kagawa’s place in the team, how can Kagawa play as a forward now, its either 3 man midfield now or 2 man midfield for the lad.
He and Rooney are too similar in positioning , what if there a Drogba-Torres situation?
We should have fucking bought Javi Martinez or Joao Moutinho and strengthen also at left back by signing Leigton Baines !
Why the hell does Foogie always ignore the main issues every transfer window?
He seems to always neglect,
- getting cover for Evra
-buying a midfielder
- selling guys like Berba, Owen etc sooner.
Unless we win the CL within 2 years this move will be an epic flop for both parties.
Couldnt we have gone for Modric? Its almost the same price Madrid is paying for him. Or maybe he never wanted to come to Utd so we were never in the running for him.
Fucking heLl, I just woke up, still lying in bed, switched on the phone and saw a text message come all the way from lebanon! Fucking hell, what a start to the day, and hopefully the season.
Get the fuck in!!!
Oh I love today ! This has made my year ! I flipping ecstatic
We have bolstered our forward line to an extent that the whole of Europe is standing still and thinking
“What the Fuck Just Happened?” This is a massive signal of ambition. We want Glory. Now !
After the early euro exit, we’ve comeback guns blazing without cocks hanged out and hats turned up, sleeves rolled up with a bottle of baby oil in our hands !
What defence can cope with RVP and Rooney loitering around them with Kagawa,Valencia and Nani driving right at them like a freight train ?
RVP can grab us 20 easy and Rooney guarentees 25…this is on a average season for those two, throw in Chico and Welbz…we are battling on all 4 fronts and can do as long as our overly stocked midfield can stay fit and defence holds together.
We are due some luck in injury front, we’ve been fucked royally since 2010 (Rooney ankle,Hargo).#If RVP can stay fit, we have the opportunity to win back the league and progress far in the CL. With a Wembley final, perhaps the CL is high in priority.
We still have buying power and we’ve snatched last years best striker from our old rivals….what a sight it will be
Actually excited and can’t wait for his debut….RVP has had the most assists as a forward since 2008, what a fucking stat !
When Ronaldo and Tevez left, we lost our threat in Europe, teams became brave, hell the premier league caught on we’ve been wounded. In 2009 we suffered despite Valencia + Nani stepping up.
In 2010, we lack the oomph in the final, In 2011/12, our campaign crumbled as we stumbled everywhere as everybody was prepared to stand toe-to-toe and take blows head on.
Now we are a force to be reckoned with . The world will stand and take notice. This is as big as the time Villa joined Barca or Ronaldo joined Real or as wild as when Henry joined Eto’o and Messi up front.
This signing is massive, we are targeting instant sucess while building for the future.
Imagine a euro line up of;
——–Carrick —- Clevelery———
Nani ——-Kagawa——Rooney——-
——————–Van Persie
RVP just turned 29
Wayne is 27 in October
Chico is 24
Welbz is 22 in Nov
Perfect ! Berba out and Macheda out on loan !
RVP will be our new No.9.
Anything less will be travesty, its our time again…I can feel it in my nipples that are rock hard !
We lost the title last season on fucking goal difference!! Didnt score enough goals!! Still people on here saying we don’t need RvP! Wow!
Morning all
6 AM here, just waiting for my coffee to brew so I can start my working day…..Just wanted to post this….
RvP RvP RvP RvP RvP RvP RvP
How can some folk on here have doubts about this signing is beyond me, just a case of humble pie I suppose
500 !
Yes Im a fucking loony !
If we buy Baines or fucking even Taylor or whatever that half indian at Swansea is called, we are winning the whole fucking lot this year !
Midfield problems ? FUCK THEM…we make our own bed, we;ll fuck and sleep on it !
Clevs will stay fit and so will Ando.
Giggs and Scholes will hold our hands through the season.
Carrick will become a beast once more…ignite son…do it again.
Fletch will make a speedy recovery and hopefully will be new signing to kick start 2013.
Nick Powell will be our young kid making his name !
Kagawa will be our jack of all trades…our fucking ninja…you fear what you can’t see and no one will see this kid fuck them.
Robin fucking Vans for a Living Persie !!!
This is it !
I feel like Zibbie !
Suck my balls Kate Middleton and you Fergie !
The one that got a divorce I mean of course.
‘Red Van Nistelrooy says:
We lost the title last season on fucking goal difference!! Didnt score enough goals!! Still people on here saying we don’t need RvP! Wow!
That’s one way of looking at it.
You also argue that we lost the title last season because too many goals were conceded.
Had UTD lost 1-0 to City instead of 6-1 then UTD would have been Champions.
Had UTD not conceded v Everton at home…….
Had Rooney tackled the Wigan player instead of letting him score…..
UTD’s defence needs strengthening. And that starts with a MF who can tackle, intercept, and distribute the ball.
Those fearing for Welbeck and Hernandez, have no fear they will both get their playing time, its a long season and we’ve always been effective with 4 strikers ala 99
Papii
Never ever doubted for one second that you are a fucking lunatic mate
Morning /afternoon folks
Still cant believe we are getting Van.These surely made my night.Im i still dreaming or what?Thoughts running my mind to cancel my shift on Monday and get to see Van.
Robinhood aye aye aye ayeye
500+ comments in a day. That alone suggests the magnanimity of this move if nothing else.
Sorry to put a damper on the party, but aren’t his wages going be breaking our wage structure? I’ve even heard wild reports claiming he’ll be matching wages with Wazza. Now i’m not exactly buying into such bullshit but it’s hard to imagine him being anything but our 2nd highest earner. Above captain Nemanja Vidic and such others. Surely that’s going to have an impact with our ongoing negotiations with Nani and Danny.
Also I really hope Rooney and VPersie can link up well also. This is a big transfer, we don’t want another Berbatov on our hands.
^Quickly want to clarify my last statement before people start attacking me for it. I hold Berba’s abilities in a very high regard. Top class striker if there ever was one. Travesty to see him waste on our bench, so I can’t really say it was a good transfer deal. That’s the point I was making above.
Utd_fc
Raining on our party eh?I can see the bashing beckoning.Nice thought process though.
Gonna take a sabbatical to mitigate palpitations induced by RVP if he puts pen to paper today.
I know its wishful thinking but i can see us winning the league with three games to go if anything goes according to plan and City falter coz as it stands, success has gone to their heads.
utd_fc
Morning mate, I am one of Berba’a biggest fans, but RvP is a completely different type of player, he is more direct and has a better finish on him. Totally different players. The idea of his link up with Kagawa and Rooney is mouth watering
Sara aka 911 aka sachu aka fucking freak
Did you take my advice and shove them 12 flag poles up your ass? Fucking predictable freak
Well said Sara.Here’s hoping!!!!
Help, help!!! I’m drowining in marro’s jizz!!
Jeet
You fuck! I honestly cannot begin to describe my excitement at the prospect of watching RvP in a United shirt, when the news broke yesterday I was drooling like a toddler and felt like a 5 year old on Christmas eve
Cedars
Please please stop tainting my name on here.I repeat for the umpteenth time that i am neither Sachu nor 911 by any stretch of imagination. If i have offended anyone on here then i duly apologise. However attacking me for no reason is not fair.
Reds galore
You’re just outed yourself you daft fool! When did I ever address you?
Mouth Watering prospect with Rooney and RVP but this probably stops the growth of Welbeck and may be Hernandez as well. Both of whom will be better options in a year or 2 but will they stay now. Berbatov again sits quietly without uttering a word. I think Hernandez might think of leaving as hes gone further down the pecking order
Reds Galore, what a daft fuck!!! There’s only ten Reds Galore, there’s only ten Reds Galore! Pissing myself, what a daft sick cunt is sachuboy, hahaha!
Fucking freak has so many usernames he forgot which one to use! Daft cunt
Incredible! If this goes through, the strikeforce will be stacked.

first post said it all.
The Mirror: Chicharito as a part of the deal to Gunners.
Hell yes! Sir Alex isn’t that stupid of course.
£22.5m is enough i guess.
What happens to Berba?
Cedars
You misunderstand me. Ofcourse VanPersie is a very classy striker and very different from Berbatov as well. I was just stating that even with Berba’s class his pricetag didn’t justify the buy as such.
And regarding the financial side of things, anyone wanna help me out here? Details about wages and addons in his contract etc?
@utd_fc – £22.5m transfer fee with £1.5m if United win CL or EPL during 4 years of his contract.
No details about wages, i guess after the medical.
Michael Owen said it all in twitter. Signing striker shoudn’t have been our priority but when the player of thus calibre becomes available there aren’t many who wouldn’t want to take this chance.
Fuck me it feels like christmas all over again, imagine vp and rooney linking uptop, kagawa just behind and nani and tonyv on the wings… JIZZZZ
And there still remains the midfield issues. Any ideas whether we have more players lined up?
Corea
thanks mate. hope we can tie him down at under 180k a week. Nani et al aren’t gonna be too pleased about his wages.
Also, it’s gonna be real interesting to see how we’re going to field our team now. Very versatile all of a sudden
Maybe a 4-3-3 with Carrick Kagawa and Ando/Clev/Scholes and having rooney vp and nani/valencia up front?
or maybe go more attacking with Carrick holding thigns infront of the back 4. Nani and Valencia out wide, Kagawa through the middle playing right behind Vpersie and Rooney?
@Utd_fc:
With the possibility departure of Berba, Macheda, Bebe, i think we had an O.K wage structure. Don’t forget we’ve sold O’Shea, Brown, Kuszczak last season. Along with Kagawa, Powell, RvP, United has “only” spent £44 mil this season, fair amount of money for best player of PL & Bundesliga considering £50 mil which we’ve spent last season on 2 kids & 1 decent winger.
But yeah im still a little bit worried about Nani though…
Witsel and we are equipped. As for Baines – what can you do. Evra in his prime form (can i dream?), Evans, Blackett.. mmm.. anyway.
@utd_fc – Nani already said he is pleased with RvP signing and still wants only to play for the club and help us win trophies and play as many minutes as possible.
So nothing about higher wages RvP might be getting
@Heron:
Trio of Carrick, Cleverley, Kagawa should good enough for us.
I watched England vs Italy match yesterday. Carrick, Clev & Lampard were so lively & commanding (especially TC23) in midfield area against the so-called hard workers like De Rossi, Nocerino or Aquilani.
Have we signed him officially ?
Any news on his medical check up?
It’s really sad that some corners of the Internet are disappointed with this transfer. Being skeptical is one thing, but being downright disappointed is an entirely different thing.
You really can’t please some fucking people, can you?
First they say Sir Alex is lying about the money. Then we splash a grand total of almost 35 mil for two top-quality players. Then everybody says these are contingency signings; that we get a crocked striker and a Japanese nobody wanted. Fuck this shit. I am telling you if we sign George Best for 30 mil, people will still find a way to spin it in a negative manner and put down Sir Alex.
This is quite simply an amazing coup by Sir Alex and a real statement of intent as well. He’s saying to City, “You may have outdone us on GD last year, but don’t forget that we were fucked by injuries to certain key players. This season we’ve got all of them back and we’ve added two players of the highest quality to our team. Not only that all our youngsters are a year older. Do you want to do this for 10 months or give us the title right away?
Cedars, Have you stopped wanking by now? Hahaha….
Stateside, I completely understand your skepticism on this transfer. However, I don’t feel this goes against our policies. Welbeck just signed a new five-year deal. I don’t think Sir Alex would’ve let that happen if he wasn’t sure of Welbeck’s place in his plans. As for Chicha, I am not sure of his starting place, but he’s the goddamn best super-sub you can have right now. And being super-sub for Manchester United is not exactly a bad thing. Don’t believe me, just ask a certain Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. They both will get a lot of game time. I am sure about it.
There’s no way Sir Alex would jeopardize the careers of two of our brightest prospects for no reason. And as Paul Parker mentioned, competition from Rooney and Van Persie will only help them in the end. As last season proved, they knew they didn’t have to worry about Berbatov (Bless Him!), so they weren’t really frightened for their place. Now when they get a chance, they will full well know that they have to play to a 100%, otherwise they’re not going to get a lot more chances. Competition is going to be good for the youngsters.
In the end, it is Sir Alex’s team. He knows the inside out of Manchester United and its players. He’s known each of these players longer than most of us and know how they are, what their characters are and so on. It is his selection headache ultimately and he’s gonna love it. I think he himself was a bit annoyed that he had to play a defensive style against City and let him be open to so many questions from fans and the press. He wants United back playing the highest quality of attacking football. He wants teams to be frightened of United again. He wants the top teams to envy the quality that we possess. He wants managers shitting their pants when United are in town. With the signing of Kagawa and Robin Van Persie, he knows he’ll achieve all of the above. And we’re not just talking the league here, we’re talking about Europe as well. He wants that third European medal and he wants it badly. Otherwise people are always going to say bad things about his achievements. This is going to make us challenging in Europe as well.
As for the tactics, Denton hit the nail bang on the head. Michael Carrick is going to be our most crucial player. I said it a few weeks back itself. And people said it was Rooney. However, with RVP, Rooney could be out for a couple of weeks and we needn’t worry about our formation of tactics. But the entire system relies on Carrick’s efficiency in shielding the back four. And if he were to pick up a slight knock for a few weeks, then we are going to be in a tight spot. As good as Jones is in terms of making tackles and doing defensive work, he doesn’t have Carrick’s composure. So, yeah, Michael Carrick is inarguably our most important player for 2012-13.
I will probably be slaughtered for this, but about the crazy rumor of Hernandez going to Arsenal, if it is only a loan deal, it would be pretty good for all parties. Spurs also need a striker, so thats an option as well. Would do Hernandez a world of good if he can play more games in the top flight, which would probably be limited now
This is a great signing and well done Dazbomber who called this a good few weeks ago. I can honestly say that was the first time I ever heard RvP’s name linked to United.
Mancdub-Glad to be of service ha ha , let’s sit back and watch the show .The different formations Sir Alex has now are frightening .
@Marq – cmon pal! he has played a lot of games during his 2 years at the club.
Not an option. With Wellbeck and Chicharito we have 2 DIFFERENT options.
Like in 1999.
And i don’t think at Arsenal he will have plenty football with Giroux and Podolski and Gervinho.
And all those loan deals there is always on your mind that you won’t be seeing the player beyond the loan agreement.
Don’t know if gunners have used this but anyone remember/know the song Rockin’ Robin? It would make a nice chant with a little fine tuning…
KingOfStretEnd
That is the saddest part of this. I was hoping Berba might get some playing time this coming season, but not now.
Macheda and Hernandez are no where near good enough to be playing ahead of RVP, Rooney, Welbeck or Berbatov. Unfortunately it looks like Berba will be the casualty.
Glad to have RVP on board but sad at the same time.
Utd fans are really fickle.. wow! We, us, UNITED FANS, complain about the glazers and there short arms+long pockets and now? We have signed a GREAT player. So, be GREATFUL, and have faith in our club. They can’t win everything, but they sure as hell do try. UNITED WE STAND!!!
132 of his goals:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVzsSNDWRig
What is this nonsense about Hernandez leaving in exchange? This better not be true or else it spoils the entire deal for me. No fucking way should we allow Hernandez head to Arsenal or ANYWHERE for that matter. Van Persie will b gone in 6 years MAX and Hernandez will get gametime in the cups and the occasional game in the league and sub appearances as well. He obviously can’t start but he should have known that when he moved from Chivas that at a club like United, Competition for places is EXTREMELY HIGH.
Giggs12
What a waste of cash then. All that knowledge of footy and you still can’t see the MF needs some work, tut tut
Like you said its opinions, let’s see how it shapes out. Stateside pointed Carrick will become the most important player and he’s bang on. My gripe is what happens with loss of form or injuries. They DO happen and we saw that first hand last season. Anyhoo roll in Monday
Sorry for the late reply, late night work is kicking my ass
Mixed Emotions? Me Bollox
This Is Huge, The Second HE said he wasnt signing you could of Painted him Sky Blue Right there. This Move Is Citys Number 1 First Choice Target , The Premier Leagues Top Goal Scorer and an all around good attitude and team player, He lifted Arsenal to Champions League after they were nothing at the start of the season. Kompany is the only City player that has that and he’s a defender. Manchini would of loved a player like that up front, Now if Berbatov leaves United have 4 strikers that can do so.
Emily was very happy as he uncle is an Arsenal fan and he’s always, rightfully, banging on about “Arsenals best Premiership Player Ever” So she wants to do 20 songs for himSo Reply with your chants . that would be fantastic.
And I dontthink this is the end of it, Big Announcement today, Id say its another sponser but who knows, Get Nani signed up along with Danny , Vidic is back Powell For the smaller Games Carrick is the man in England, Scholes is There Giggs is there Ando is in the best shape in years, heres hoping his attitude is in better shape, Cleverley fit is the key, Nani and Valencia . Its been a good week this week, With the IPO and Our Bollox owners . This doesnt happen much during the summer. So grap your best girly by your side and Sing Sing Sing ……… Or write chants, During typing this Emily woke and asked for 20 songs

Touche my friend touche
There is no doubt we could add in that department i was being over militant yesterday to prove a ponit really. Not you mate but some would have us think we are depserate in there and I just dont see it that way.
Gotta hate
Fucking hell mate where the devil have you been? Great to see you post buddy I always loved your passionate posts, hope Emily is all good and still flying that red flag.
Leighton Baines or Izzaguiri will be the done deal today imho.
@brisbanefan
Perfectly said at 04:13. How many more goals were we supposed to score ffs? The goal difference wouldn’t have been an issue if our lads weren’t too concerned with attacking City while we were 3-1 and one player down at Old Trafford. Defence is what cost us last season. We probably made a new record in terms of how many goals we conceded at old Trafford last season.
Giggs12Gerrard0
Im always here, Im just not down the comment section typing too much . Emily is great mate , Losing teeth and waiing a sister, She looks like this yesterday evening singing about Robin Van Persie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK0et7yS_7c
Interesting insight about how The Mirror picked up Chicharito bullshit about how he might join Arsenal as a part of the deal.
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/the-curious-story-of-javier-hernandez-handing-sir-alex-ferguson-a
If Hernandez leaves i will seriously consider stop watching football.
His name is Robin,
And we’re dancing in the stands…
GHTT
Class mate, my little boy is 2 and all he sings now is ” Oh Ahh Cantona ” its genius!
G.h.t.t – exactly what i’m talking about. United have options and quality in midfield. I personally feel the brilliance of legendary scholes and Giggs will be gradually phased out by cleverley and anderson. Powell and carrick. Add the likes of tunnicliffe who is united through and through & ready to smash into the first team. Petrucci is alread a class act in my opinion and should be placed amongst united’s options. Larnell cole and lingard are at the club too. None are ready to take full responsibility but FERGIE is a manager who will take risks with youngsters. All in all, united just gotta hope we keep players fit, they could make impacts.
“if our lads weren’t too concerned with attacking City while we were 3-1 and one player down at Old Trafford”
it’s interesting sometimes. We people are inetersting species. I know some common sense is needed from time to time. But we are proud of our team of turning things around one day and the other we are furious that our players fought till the end the other day.
1-6 wansn’t the main problem i beleive, Costas. It’s all clutching at straws. It was the beginning of the season. Newcaslte 0-3 in the middle. Wigan and Everton during the most important period of the season, cheaky-bum-time that made the difference.
But anyway.
“tunnicliffe who is united through and through” won’t believe it until i see it on the official site with CAPITAL letters
Corea – you’re overreacting a little. Stop watching football over an unlikely transfer?.
It’s not an interesting insight, just another alcoholic mirror journalist making up nonsense.
I see positives in the van persie deal. No striker currently at the club is guaranteed a place and i include the wayne boy.
Good morning
arsene wenger ”robin is a manchester united, unfortunately for us. The transfer was finalised on wednesday afternoon”
Wow, still sound sorrel
Welcome to the best club on earth robin, we gonna run teams ragged believe me
GHTT
Pure class that video mate, bless her. Great seeing you posting again
On the website, what difference does that make? Not a lot of fans can doubt tunni’s commitment to the course. If you mean united have yet to sign him as a new player then i’m struggling to conjure up a reply. Oh dear!
Just heard this from a K stander………….(To the tune of Berty Mee song)
for my mate Cedars
Mancini said to Van Persie
Do you want to sign for Man City
No said Rob you fucking Nob
I am a Stretford Ender
I also forgot united have kagawa, i would prefer him further up the pitch though, carving Teams open with his invention and class.
As I write he’s at bridgewater hospital ahead of his medical for manchester united, media already there including skysport.
I say, welcome de novo to man united
Me cleverley will provide all the supply
one thing i have no answer for is a cover for patrice. I can understand people’s worries, maybe FERGIE has someone lined up but looks increasingly likely that brady and blackett, maybe vesel will have to step up (massive massive gamble). I think fergie’s reluctance to buy a left back might be the fact he has high hopes for fabio to return and dislodge evra.
Barcelona expect to complete the signing of alex song
In the coming days
Me say: what the fuck is with arsenal squad???
Samuel don’t worry mate Baines is coming
If we can pay that amount for a 29y old player
Then It wouldn’t surprise me if we ended up signing baines which is unlikely a the minute
Good to see GHTT post again. Sigh all the new ROM dads making me feel like ” what the Fuck you been foo.g writh your life”. Joys of father hood. You can see it in their every post. May be a tad late but congrats fellas.
Morning reds, still buzzing from the Van Persie transfer. Welbeck and Lil’ pea will be just fine, they’re not guaranteed starters anyway, they’ll play a big part this season as we fight on all fronts, they’ll be plenty of games. There’s no guarantee with any signing, no matter how much you spend, but if we get a good 3 years out of Van Persie, it’s good business. By then Welbeck and Hernandez will have hopefully matured into more complete players.
@slim
Don’t sweat it mate. Those of us that have yet to experience fatherhood are also blessed. Would you trade watching porn with changing diapers?
Either way, congrats James!
Giggs12 – rodwell has gone to city, no chance of baines leaving. Besides, i’m not entirely convinced by baines and not sure FERGIE is interested. Surely, he’d have made a move much earlier?.
Samuel
You never know mate, if we offer decent money and a player tells the club he would like to go then often nowadays contracts are not worth the paper they are written on.
Giggs12 @9.13
Brilliant
Cedars – Sorry mate my last comment was meant to have a “smiley” at the end of it!!!
I’ll be proved wrong about RVP just like a was about Valencia etc and I have no problem with that. I did say I think we should go for another forward who’ll be able to grow with the club….and we did that with Henriquez so we’ve got the best of both worlds.
I can’t see us going for a midfielder now, but very pleased with the squad going into next season nethertheless
Costas
Hahaha. You make a very valid point. Coor, some of them porn stars- breathtaking bodies.
Much better than smelly dirty diapers.
GHTT awesome video, when she had he stuffed animals in the back seat all buckled in the last time, so cute. Thanks for the share.
@Clint
Don’t see any reason it will be a Torres/Drogba situation. The problem those 2 have is they both are restricted to that single Centre Forward position. Both Rooney and RvP are not like that. Both can as a centre forward or a deep lying forward or even Left or Right in a 3. And they are also more than capable of playing fluid positions.
@bRed
Would seem that he prefers Madrid plus Levy by all accounts wants an extra €10mill to sell him to an English club
@TheCANTONA
Our Wage bill actually increased despite the players we got rid of last season. But the club were 4% below its upper limit of 50%. The first 9months had a revenue of £245m so that 4% equals £9.8mill. The full year should be higher and some players have been offloaded so there should be plenty in the wage budget especially if Berba is offloaded (I like Berba but hope he is as he isn’t right for United but he is too good to sit on the bench or in the stands)
@911_Devil
Arsenals problem is Wenger IMHO. He has been too stubborn with his youth policy which pushes players who are no where near ready into the first team (and his tactics which only have a plan A) and that makes the senior players consider their place. They are now at the point where they can’t really change things even with the spending he has done.
Profound Kebab. Any day give me diapers
911
Yeah heard that rumour as well.Barca are in for song.
What a day yesterday was!!!
One the same day that RVP joins us my wife tells me that she is pregant with our first!!
ON FUCKING CLOUD NINE! OVER THE FUCKING MOON!!! I’M GONNA BE A FATHER!!! WHOOOOOP! AND ………………………….RVP COMING TO UNITED!!
Rite be aware I more than likely will be asking all the ROM dads advice over the next 9 months!! You have been warned! lol
on topic I got txt from my bro who works in london whos best mate is in Burnley football club (god knows what I don;t really know who he is) and he told my bro not to be getting too excited about it apparently RVP failed Medical with City last week! Obviously I am just passing on what I have heard, not claiming to be the fly on the wall or a know-it-all! Lets afce it our medical team will sail him through as they did with Hargo! Would leave sour taste in my mouth if true but at the minute I will reserve judgement bc we have just picked up last years top scorer and FPA winner along with German FPA winner for same money as that doneky carroll!! hahahahah
and I’m gonna be a dad!! FUCKING AWESOME MORNING!!!
Don’t believe any of this RVP hype it’s just a ruse to sell any unwanted season tickets.
)
I’ve been watching Sky Sports News since 9:00 this morning and still no sign of him!!
For the first time in his tenure shows fergie is looking short term. No sell-on value, injury prone (except last season). Wants that 3rd euro sharpish then bye bye. Immortality beckons Lord Ferguson…………….
Congratulations FRO-NAM.
Balaji @ 07:00 – great post and NOT just because you agree with me !
@Fred
what’s ur stance on RVP? I’m dead excited to see how team is gonna line up, fergus has given himself a great headache lol
Thanks pal well chuffed
