United sign Serbian goalie

The club has today confirmed that they have reached an agreement with FK Vojvodina for the transfer of Serbian Under-17 international goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic.

In April, the 6ft 7in goalie had a trial at Carrington, where he obviously impressed the coaches.

Milinkovic made six appearances for Serbia in the qualifying phase for the UEFA Under-17 Championship and kept three clean sheets. Serbia missed out on a place in the finals tournament after finishing behind Germany on goal difference.

Milinkovic will remain with FK Vojvodina next season.

We sign a player no one predicted! Good look to the lad, he’s certainly tall enough.

  2. Mark Odeoshe Ajayi says:

    Keep them coming!!!
We re expecting personnel upgrade in our first team upgrade.

  3. m09538061 says:

‘Vanja..He comes from Serbia, he’ll fuckin murder ya’

  4. samuel - united WE stand says:

woke up thinking it was an important signing but or goodness sake. ”he is certainly tall enough” sums it up

  5. samuel - united WE stand says:

i’m not sure if fowler has lost his marbles but he sounds really desperate here, probably worried about his beloved liverpool getting knocked off their one season wonder perch.. i’m an advocate for giggsy and if he turns out to be a great manager who is equipped for the role then by all means hand it to him.. all fowler has come out with here is desperation and cunning.. who knows how it will go under van gaal but united some experienced manager with knowledge of what it takes in order to sort the mess out.. it’s no time for experiment based on sentiments and nonesense..

  6. samuel - united WE stand says:

    need some experienced manager*

  7. samuel - united WE stand says:

rothwell is quality.. dynamic and all round good technique.. very clever on the ball too, great passing range.. more stylish than pearson who seems a gattuso like..

  8. samuel - united WE stand says:

i imagine vanja is going straight to the reserves when he hopefully joins.. united are stuffed with goalkeepers.. i’m not even sure how sam johnstone will break into the side.. let’s not even start on ben amos. de gea won’t be getting shifted as long as he stays

  9. samuel - united WE stand says:

at least we now know why he’s been hardly seen on the pitch.. all for dutch footballing glory.. nice one robin

  10. samuel - united WE stand says:

hargreaves just stamped all over united there.. he jumped to conclusion that all united will do is play 4-4-2.. doubt van gaal will play anything flat.. the game has evolved and a 4-4-2 is usually a last resort in terms of possible ineffective style.. what Hargreaves has done there is highlight united as a backward club tactically but with the players coming through and possibly signed, i think united are moving forward. he’s certainly still pissed off about his injuries but then again he’s had it since he was at bayern. The toni kroos signing still looks a long shot anyway, 90% sure he will sign a new deal at bayern.. the rest of the 10 can be squabbled over by suitors who want his signature.

  11. m09538061 says:

    @Samuel-United We Stand.
Fowler is ex Liverpool,City and Leeds Scum.
Would expect the Scumbag to say something like that!

  12. slim says:

Yes he’d suit a team where hard work is not required. He can go look pretty at Arsenal like Carzola and Ozil, get tired after a 3 months, play shit for another 2 and make all the right noises when crunch time for 4th place comes along. Pfft. Footballers these days.

  13. Neil Moore says:

Slim. You well mate? Absolutely spot on. What the fuck is wrong with Hargreaves? He’s a bitter cunt as I said this morning. Now this. Fuck off you sick note.

Who gives a fuck what the freaky little eared, coke snorting prick Fowler says? Dippers punched WELL above their weight last season. They won’t do fuck all next season with that wafer thin squad. A flash in the pan. To be fair to Fowler he was saying yesterday on Talksport that Scholesy was a genius. Top striker in his day too.

  14. NBI Red 21 says:

One Serbian out and one in! Vida remains in spirit.

Wonder who the coaching staff are who are assessing these players. Reports are that Wood is out.

Good to see the Club are active but we really need quality signings who can impact the team now and he may be one for the future but I can’t see De Gea being replaced any time soon unless he asks to leave and if he is any good he won’t want the bench for too long.

The new manager and the LVG reports seem like a bit of a mess. So far the press have called in wrong on when he will be “announced”. Similar to Sneijder signing. Not sure if there is a deal there. Odd that it is dragging on so long. Moyes given the job in SAF’s living room and if LVG is the potential next he is going through a process and a half.

Lets see what happens. Going to enjoy the world cup, go on holiday and hope for the best with United.

  15. NBI Red 21 says:

I am not sure Kroos is what we need. This team needs to be balanced. We really need a Keano/ Toure type and his side kick.

In terms of Hargreaves comment if you look at how Mata and Kagawa have been used you kind of get it though he has become a bitter twat 4sho. Carrick has also been turned from a decent and dangerous attacking mid to a 3rd central defender this season.

We need a deep lying playmaker and a tough defesive mid. Kroos for me may be Mata mark 2.

  16. NBI Red 21 says:

Also why exactly do we need Kroos?

  17. tallestreD says:

NBI I think you answered your question…as Kroos is a deep lying playmaker not a brute DM for sure

  18. samuel - united WE stand says:

kroos can play both attacking mid and central midfield.. he and mata are completely different players.. kroos controls games in a paul scholes mould.. he is more of a central midfielder and i do think united need players like that and possibly another different caliber of central midfiield in carvalho mould if possible.

  19. NBI Red 21 says:

Kroos is not a deep lying MF player. He is an attacking MF player who can also play more centrally but his strength is getting forward. He shoots well from range and passes well. He would run into the same space as Mata and Kagawa. If Kroos came to United he would be fighting for an over crowded slot, he can play a bit further back, but why buy him then, but someone who naturally sits deepes and distributes well, a younger Keane, Alonso or Carrick.

The players and system we have right now is a mess. If someone like Kroos comes in it has to be because it makes sense to get him and he fits in to a needed place rather than just becomes a glory signing.

For me, we have Mata, Kagawa, Januzaj, we don’t need Kroos unless one of them is going.

  20. NBI Red 21 says:

@ samuel – Kroos for me is not as good as Scholes, nor is he a similar type of player, he is more an Arsenal type player with a nice ground passing game. Scholes for all his criticism was actually excellent at defensive positioning, he just could not tackle. But he had that toughness.

If we wanted a deep lying playmaker, Thiago was the player to buy or Modric.

Don’t quite see the fuss about Kroos. Watched him a reasonable amount and I would prefer Ramsey or Barkley over him. He is not that special as he is getting made out to be. Bayern MF was torn a new one by RM.

Not a priority for United imo, he seems a money whore too.

  21. Fletch™ says:

So much for van Persie injury.
    Lad looks fine to me!

    1-1 Holland v Equador
