On Tuesday, the Manchester United Foundation and Aon joined together to host the first of five football clinics as part of the USA tour. About 30 Aon colleages from the Boston area joined with Manchester United players Jonny Evans, Gabriel Obertan and Anderson, coaches from the Manchester United Soccer School, and representatives from the Manchester United Foundation, including Foundation chief executive John Shiels, in giving approximately 50 Special Olympic athletes from Boston a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The 90-minute clinic took place at Ohiri Field on the campus of Harvard University, and the athletes, whose ages ranged from 16 to 26, had a chance to learn some football techniques and interact with the Manchester United players.

The Aon Foundation is underwriting the cost of each of the Special Olympics soccer clinic with a sponsorship to the local Special Olympics chapters in each city where Manchester United will be playing as part of its North American tour. Clinics also will be conducted in Seattle, Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C.
