Valencia Not Out For Whole Season

Sir Alex Ferguson had indicated that Antonio Valencia would be missing for the entire season after suffering a horrible injury in our 0-0 draw against Rangers.

However, it looks as though Valencia could return before the end of the season.

“The operation went well,” a club spokesperson told United’s official website.

“A plate has been inserted to stabilise the fracture but there is obvious significant ligament damage that follows a dislocation and he will be out for a good portion of the season.”

Valencia returning to full fitness is the most important thing. I don’t like any footballer to suffer an injury like that even the ones I hate,

To say he will be badly missed is an understatement! He was mr consistant last year who offered us something we really needed (directness, Speed and Accurate Crossing) How many chances did he create, how many assists did he have? Id say countless!

    Get fit lad!

Now for some of the fringe players to up their game and prove they can be united players!

  4. Costas says:

He can still play enough games to get a champion’s medal. ;)

The most important thing though is for Antonio to recover mentally from this. That might take him more than 6 months. The other thing you have to wonder about is if he will recover all of his physical attributes to the maximum. Valencia was a player that was improving physically all the time.

I get the feeling that he will back sooner than Hargo….

He’ll be a big miss, got to plug that gap now.

Too good to be true, but with a lot of prayers it could happen. I can’t even look up Valencia’s picture without tearing up.

If he’s back in March/April then it would be like a new signing.

i think tony v will return soon but ligament damage r unpredictable its better to have a fracture rather than
ligament damage take case of hargo ..Get well soon all u lads..

On a related issue – anyone else watch RM overwhelm Ajax ? CR7 flounced, fretted, and shot, shot, shot to no avail but that kid Ozil ain’t half bad. What a HUGE PITY that he never intended to sign for UTD.

Talk about the rich getting richer – TheVirus being able to sign Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira for about 25 million was daylight robbery.

Great news about Valencia. He is such a strong player. I think this news will be a huge boost to him mentally. Need to be careful about rushing him thought. We rushed Allen Smith and several others to their eventual misfortune. My prediction is that we will have a new system in place by then depending on Nani on the right. Hoping that Anderson becomes a stable on the left, with Obertan coming back as well. Hopefully we don’t need to rush Tony and that he can be used in some late action, maybe for a cup game, or a late sub. We need to show patience and wisdom on this. Tony has shown his quality, the club and fans need to show theirs with patience and support.

I don’t think we should think that he’ll be back this season, it’s too early. Give him the summer and pre-season to get up to speed then start introducing him from then on.

  14. mattbw7 says:

it would be a desperate situation if we rushed him back, Im sure he wont be allowed anywhere near the pitch unless he’s fully recovered, we need him for a few years yet.
There some players who’ve come back to the highest level after serious injury, look at Ruud and I remember Marc Overmars has something similar and he went to have a good career at arsenal, I guess luck will play a part but he’s young fit and strong, he’ll be ok

some good news after such a poor week football wise for the club

doesn’t sound as bad as was first thought and when i first saw what he had done (sometimes rewinding live tv isn’t so good, brought a lump to my throat at the time for the lad)

hope we don’t rush him back although admittedly and selfishly i want him back asap.

good luck tonio and get well soon matey.

hope we chant his name long hard and loud at the match on sunday

I can’t say enough how much this has dampened our season for me. It’s terrible. He is without doubt one of our top top players and i reckon he would have had such a season. I just really hope he returns to 100 percent peak condition and i don’t mind how long he needs to attain that.

  17. charllyboi says:

It’s really painful to miss such a favourites player like HIM.But we pray he should get better on time so as to start normal training and get better to support Dimitar Berbertov,Nani,Hernedez, and the rest of our players to finish the season perfectly well.
