Van Persie – Holland’s top goalscorer

RvP KluivertRobin van Persie has tonight equalled Patrick Kluivert’s record for Holland and joined him as the country’s top scorer with 40 goals.

Van Persie, who is his nation’s captain, put Holland 1-0 up against Hungary after quarter of an hour and then made it 4-0 just before half-time. Kluivert, who joined the coaching staff last year, was on the sidelines to celebrate.

In the second half, Van Persie completed his hattrick, making him Holland’s top goalscroer.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is the only other player in the top 10 who hasn’t retired and he is 7 goals behind Van Persie.

Thought RVP was in a rut?

  2. KR says:

edcunited1878, by rut do you mean a shit midfield at United providing the service. Different story when Strootman is passing you the ball as opposed to the ”English Xavi” Tom Cleverly.

Speaking of Strootman he is yet another incredible midfielder that the braindead genius Moyes missed out on in the transfer window. Probably couldn’t get his fax machine sorted you know.

  3. edcunited1878 says:

No, I agree with you KR, trust me I do. I find it appalling that there are posters on here that are questioning RVP. The service around him, including that from Rooney is terrible at the moment.

  4. KR says:

edcunited1878 and the one creative player we have is where? That’s right on the bench, every game.

  5. FletchTHEMAN says:

Rooney just put England 1-0 up v Montenegro.

That is his 27th international competition goal for england. He now holds the record for england players as well.

Great to have such accomplished lads flying the Red flag!

    Come on the reds.

  6. edcunited1878 says:

My issue is more with tactics than what United player is on the pitch. RVP should be the focal point of United’s attack, feed him the ball. He should be getting the ball at his feet and dictating the playing in the final third.

  7. GENTLEKEZ says:

Strootman is really da bomb. Happy for RVP

  8. The Truth says:

Fantastic accomplishment. The celebration with Kluivert was a lovely moment.

Nice one mate. I wonder if Dave Mack is reading! Looks like the supposed “rut” is over and Moyes won’t have to drop RVP now! What a prat you are Mr. Mack.

  9. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

CONGRATULATIONS ROBIN!!! WELL DESERVED!!!! Hopefully he’s back amongst thr goals for United against Southampton. When he’s smashing them in, we are at our best. Robin’s scored, Rooney’s scored and is playing pretty well, Welbeck’s been good tonight. Hopefully they can all bring their international form back to Manchester so we can get this season going.

  10. The Truth says:

Good news for the poster “Sonny” as well, who suggested on here that RVP’s legs have gone since he reached the ripe old age of 30!

  11. edcunited1878 says:

United have to attack and defend more collectively as a team and tighter. Too much space between central midfield, flank players and the center forwards.

  12. spidey says:

Rvp is a player who if remains injury won’t be that affected by age.. His play is not based on pace but a blend of amazing technique and inventivess.. Imagine if we had him during Schloesy’s prime!! Rooney had a good game too.. Moyes hasn’t been playing Kagawa because he is not that effective from the left for united and the central spot he wants to play in and where he is great at is Rooney’s at the moment.. Ferguson did try to play him deeper but he is not that great there and he will easily get bulldozed there in PL.. Anyone saw the Belgium game? Lukaku is a beast! Chelsea would win rip teams apart if he played for them.. I feel Belgium can be the dark horses for the upcoming world cup

  13. John says:

At the moment RVP is the best striker in the world from last season while at Arsenal actually…However, i find him lil depressed when he sees The Cluleless One on the touchline who suggest HOOF THE BALL IN THE AIR, unlike the Dutch way of slick passing..The Chosen One???!??!…burn dat fucking banner at OT I say!!

  14. Costas says:

    Congrats Robin. Well deserved.

  15. drv3011 says:

RVP scored his first hat trick for UTD against the Saints.hopefully he’ll score another next week.I’m kinda hoping he scores many goals this season in the PL in order to win the Golden Boot three seasons in a row.

  16. OJM says:

    – Get a grip bell-end.

  17. The Truth says:

That would be sweet but Southampton have the tightest defence in the league with just 2 goals conceded so far! I love what Pochettino is doing down on the south coast. A quality young coach who is definitely going places. Obviously we lost at home to West Brom so we can’t take anyone for granted, but even less so Southampton, who already have league wins over City, Chelsea and Liverpool (twice) in the Pochettino era. They gave us a torrid time in only his second game last season but we held out for a 2-1 win thanks to Rooney’s first half double.

  18. mufc m41 says:

John you sound like a spoilt idiot. Do us a favour and shut the fuck up. You’re coming out with shite like that after a handfull of games and an unsuccessful transfer window. With an outlook like that Fergie would have gone before he started and we wouldn’t have enjoyed the success we have.

    Ridiculous comment.

  19. safichan says:

RVP is so deadly…what he need is a great midfield line up at united to support him…

  20. tony says:

so right world class .we need more players like him

  21. John says:

@mufc m41…don’t use that “fergie would have” excuse to defend moyes coz d situation of 86 and now is perfectly reverse..fergie wasn’t appointed coz of doing a “decent” job at Aberdeen, he had won trophies..also u can notice d playing style of united now, don’t u think moyes is in the way of making us Everton d way he likes hoof the ball outdated style of play??..Moyes is nt fit for United..+ united isn’t place for work experience to produce British managers!! We are the best club in this planet!!

  22. DreadedRed says:

The best club IN the planet? What are we best at, underground football? Moron.

Moyes IS fit for United, you however are fit for four-fifths of fuck-all.

  23. John says:

    dreaded…yeah yeah you clown!!!!

  24. DreadedRed says:

Check out the big brain on John – five words, all spelt correctly!

  25. John says:

@dreaded…ha ha..dats correct..nw check dis..n check all above u jobless prick, if u had brain u won’t be sticking here idiot.

  26. DreadedRed says:

if u had brain u won’t be sticking here idiot

    The prosecution rests.

  27. John says:!!..wt a smart clown u believe urself to be??..wt u do, wash some dishes?

  28. DreadedRed says:

The dishes, as you so quaintly call them, wash me.

  29. John says:
