Van Persie: I’m Surrounded By Champions

Robin van Persie, currently the top scorer in the league, has praised his team mates and credited them for his top performances since moving from Arsenal.

“This is a special team,” he told MUTV. “Everybody wants to help each other. Everybody’s keen for everyone to score. Defenders are working their socks off for the midfielders, the midfielders are working for the strikers. Everybody wants to run and everybody has one target in their mind. We have to look at it game by game but everybody wants to be champions. I feel that I’m surrounded by champions. They know how to win and that makes it really easy for me.”

Our moment in the sun. If we dont win 20 this time around I will fondly remember these past 4 weeks! Cantona esq Van Persie!

To the extent that FA cup is a bit of an anti-climax, am looking forward to a nine point gap while Yaya is out.

in RVP Utd signed a gem one of these players that makes everyone better, before coming to Utd just had no idea of the depth to this lad.i know i’ve said this before but Le Arse had to be fucking mental letting him go just not going to get anyone close to what he brings to a team for 24mill

Imagine if we’d have sold Ronaldo with 24mill? Can you imagine that? or with “only” 40mill.

    WOW

Fantastic buy no doubt with huge amount of class, though previously he had been injury prone bar last season, also his contract was runnning down and it was either sell or lose him later.. So I guess this dictated his price a fair bit
What surprised me was wenger didnt make sure he got berbatov in the deal, think he wud have been a jem for them, that was his real slip up as RVP wanted to leave anyway

TEAM CHEMISTRY ! It is so important to success. SAF understands this like few others. Time after time new players come in and talk about how easy it is to assimilate into the dressing room. Chicarito was a prime example. Does this happen by accident ? Of course not ! Players who are brought in are usually well vetted for personality and ego. They live , train and suffer together . They like each other.

Just like in battle, the guy next to you is the one you fight for when the shit hits the fan. You don’t want to let him down or fail to measure up. So SAF and his staff has been getting it right for a long time. That makes me thinks reports of Ronaldo coming back are ALL RUBBISH. His already tremendous ego has metastasized since going to Madrid.

@Murt73 Would have indeed been a clever swap (Berbatov including the millions). Anyway, everytime RVP gets the ball, I think of Bergkamp². Imagine to have your feet finetuned like his.

Well Fryers has completed his thinly veiled departure to Tottenham.

He goes into the development squad .

Hello united fans, Spud fan here; wondered if anyone could tell me what sort of player Fryers is and how good you reckon he is/could be. Wanted to hear it from the horses mouth so to speak. I understand I may just get a load of abuse but I’m giving it a go anyway. Is he quality or are we just taking a punt? Cheers, A Southern Softie.

Ahh Balotelli. Long may he remain at Citeh. The link is of his dancing duet with Mancini on the training ground. This is serious. If Mancini’s hair gets messed up someone is going to pay !

  15. wayne says:

Erm the only reason RVP wanted to leave was because Le Arse didn’t want to pay him that’s what makes them fucking idiots

  18. Simon says:

Who do you prefer Ruud or Robin?

  19. LonestarRed says:

    @ Simon 13:53

I would pick Robin over Ruud . Rudd was lethal in the box but not as much past 18 yds . In addition his defense left much to be desired. Van Persie plays all over the field, is lethal from 35 yds in to goal ,tracks back to help on defense and midfield , is less selfish, and aesthetically speaking is far more graceful than the Ruud boy.
