Van Persie: Makes me really happy playing with Rooney

Having played his first game in a month at the weekend, Robin van Persie is looking forward to being reunited with Wayne Rooney tomorrow night when we take on Shakhtar Donetsk.

“What I enjoy most is the interaction together, that we both want to play together,” Van Persie said. “We both realise that we are better off playing together, because we are stronger when we are playing together, as a partnership. That’s the main thing in any partnership. You have to have a certain partnership when you’re playing with the number 9 and number 10, the main striker and the second striker. A left-back and a left winger need to have a partnership; the midfielders need to have a partnership; the two centre-backs, together with both full-backs, are the same. So you all have small partnerships in a big partnership, and I think it’s very important that you want to work together and you try to feed the ball in to each other, and make each other stronger. You are always stronger, in any sport, in life, when you are doing stuff together. So that makes me really happy.”

Good to hear from Robin. We need both playing fit. Probably worth the last month just to put the Kagawa question to rest. But personally think Wayne and Robin are streets ahead in the center of the park then any other option we have at the moment. Can’t wait to get back to them regularly on the team sheet.

    Maybe v Shakhtar.

Loads of injuries make the back line likely to look rather experimental. So a strong strike force is essential.

United will want a win for several reasons:
    1. Finish as Group A winners
    2. Return some confidence to the dressing room.
    3. Give the press better things to talk about then interviewing Roy Keane

    Come On U Reds!

We surely have a point to prove to many haters.critics are everywhere these days, every nook and niche are piled up with out crying voices and raging bulls who know very few about football and know everything ad hominum slang.with very few excerptions”those who make rational arguments and critique”majority of the press and ABU in addition to slaughtering our manager, they are also trying to dismantle the spirit of the team as a whole and turning the fans into monsters.unfortunately Roy keane found this period also as a perfect opportunity to open his big mouth once again, instead of supporting the team he just cant afford to give up his egocentric habit.

Hope we start finding a consistent form.
Wins v Arsenal and 5-0 thrashing of Leverkusen away show we have ability and quality.
Need to get over the post Fergie malaise and find a run of wins.

Personally doubt we will make any major signings in January. That means the lads will have make good from within. They know this as well.

Fletcher coach on field for 2nd team, great stuff. Be well Darin.

Consistent forum might only come with MC16. Points, 3 points any way. Ugly, cute fortunate wtf ever. Then MC16 cup run. And up the table…

  8. Fletch™ says:

U19s out of Youth champions league. A pity, but not bad for not having an U19 team.

    Also off topic:

Vieira v Keane: ‘I started it..Neville’s tackling was flying in on Robert Pires and ..I said..I will come after you”

  9. Tommy says:

Hopefully they both start tomorrow, 3rd home game in a way and its my birthday on thursday and all I ask is for a home goal, surely we wont have another 0 in the goals column!

RVP : “So you all have small partnerships in a big partnership………you are always stronger, in any sports, in life, when you are doing stuff together. So that makes me really happy.”……WHAT A PLAYER!! WHAT AN ATTITUDE!! CLASS ACT!! #Respect.

  11. NBI Red 21 says:

Time for the partnership to fire. Too few goals from open play for them when playing together. Not convinced they work well together. RVP Scored more often playing as lone striker last season.

  12. united till i die says:

I’d consider starting RVP on the bench tomorrow night after playing him for the full 90 on Saturday. We need him 100% fit for the upcoming league schedule and a extra couple days rest may do him good. With all the top teams playing each other multiple times over the next 3-4 weeks this is our last chance to get ourselves back in the race and a fit RVP is a must have.
