Nemanja Vidic, who turns 30 this season, has claimed he’s as hungry as ever to win trophies, particularly the FA Cup which is missing from his collection. Speaking to CNN World Sport, our captain has claimed that if he doesn’t perform, there will be players ready to take his spot in the team. Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans will all be waiting for their opportunity and are all desperate to prove themselves, which should keep Vida on his toes.
“If you want to play for Man United you have to win everything!” said Vidic. “You have to be successful, otherwise, new players come and you have to fight for your place. I still have hunger to play, hunger to win the trophies, and I’m really happy. As long as I think like that, I will be good, but I would really like to win the FA Cup as well. I haven’t won the FA Cup yet, this is the trophy I really want to win. “
Vidic was named captain of United last summer and after winning the title in his first season with the armband, he has claimed it is something that makes him proud.
“It’s a big thing,” he continued. “To play week in and week out, is a big thing, and afterwards to be recognized as one of the leaders in the team, it’s really something to make you proud.”

As for Vidic, the best center half is a close battle between Vidic and Rio. But nobody can argue that it is the best defensive partnership in the world. I haven’t seen two defenders perfectly complement each other for an eternity. In fact, I think they should probably marry each other.
