Vida: It’s Nice Training In Peace

Whilst on tour in America, Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has spoken about the importance of playing these games in preparation for starting the defence of the title next month.

“It is important,” Vidic said. “It’s nice when we come here, we have great facilities and the peace to train properly. It is a positive time in the year. I’m glad we’re here.”

Sporting the new blue away kit, Vida unsurprisingly said he was very impressed.

“It’s nice,” he continued. “Very modern, comfortable, and we’re feeling really good in it. The shirt is going to give us luck.”

Sir Alex mentioned that this tour is peaceful. I expect the journalists in the countries where we are extremely popular will have a few questions next year.

@ WHAT??? : Since the thread “Park: I Don’t Know Why Tevez Left United” is not longer active

and hopefully the other R.O.M ers dont think I’m bickering. But it seems my comments got your panties all knotted and painful, huh?

Teachers pet? Gold star? What ru a 12 year old? U sure are talking like one.

Go wind my neck in? High horse, talk shit,? Either ur 12 , or 50 plus and dont like people talking back huh?

So u highlighted this points that made u so angry, lets rewind:

    1) ***presenting yr conclusions in which u disregard Fergie and the club as being the screwups is misguided .

    2) Blame Fergie and the club. U bought this idea. Now if u look at his record at city , he shows his true colors. Why u dont see it , is interesting

Thats it? thats what got u pissed? The other guys in here ,myself included know ur a regular ,respect given.

This is a blog, people voice thier opinions ,others may agree or not, response always happens.
So take your childish advice, pat yourself on yr back and give yrself a gold star, ok?

If suddenly, u want to have a grown up discussion ,let me know but try reading what i said after u made some of this comments. Then think about it, then write something sensible.

And if its possible ,even a little bit ,show yr fellow regulars some respect, dont worry, only if thats possible.

And my apologies to R.O.M for this long post.

Fuck knows 100% why he left United, but at the time I remember saying we should wrap him up before signing a Spud. Only Gill knows why we took so long to offer Tevez a proper contract, when it was David Villa we didn’t fuck about we made an offer. Same with Benzema, we didn’t fuck about, we made an offer. Tevez is a better player than both those strikers, but for some reason we fucked about and didn’t pay his worth. Like I said only Gill knows, but if a player feels he is world class and he’s being mugged about, I don’t blame them for leaving and proving a point. We spent 30M on Berbatov before we offered Tevez a contract for 25M. He might be a twat but he’s got pride you gotta give him that. Fuck knows what him and his agent were doing behind the scenes, taking the piss no doubt, but I’ve never seen us treat a top player like that, and Tevez is a top player even if he plays for them. TBH I was happy he was going back to Brazil, but knowing how football works we’ll probably get City in the CL. What a game!

    At 17.59
He did act a twat when he was with us, but all he wanted was a permanent deal. Like I said, we offered a fortune for Villa and Benzema without thinking twice, but we tried to get Tevez on the cheap after he had already worn our shirt, played with passion and helped us win trophies

    At 19.14
course he’s not missed, but Levy led us by the nose when we signed Berbatov for 30M did he not? The 30M Kia wanted for Tevez was a bargain. 50 goals in 80 games over two seasons? Course he’s not missed, but after a year wearing our shirt with no complaints whatsoever I understand why he got pissed off when we started looking at other strikers for the same money we refused to spend on him. Maybe he was mouthing off behind the scenes, but United were hesitating to buy him long before he said a single word to the media. Long before. How many strikers have played better than Tevez for the last two seasons? None. He was well worth the money and we didn’t sign him. Maybe we let Spurs rip us off instead because Kia is an agent and Levy is top brass? Until Alex reveals all in a book we’ll just be left with speculation. But of course he’s not missed, if Alex sold Rooney I’d say the same thing.

    At 19.39
He BEGGED to play for us.

    At1 9.56
He wasn’t even after wages, just a permanent contract, Imo that whole saga wasn’t as black and white as people make out and until I read Alex write about it in a book I’ll reserve judgement.

    At 22.36
I didn’t deny he went to City for money, and the truth is I couldn’t even tell you the fee or his wages. All I know is our offer was 25M, and by the time we made it a year had passed and Tevez had started his new season still begging.

get why a lot of Reds say we dodged a bullet but from how I see it he was good as gold until we dragged our feet with a contract and publicly looked at other strikers. Also, he didn’t give West Ham any trouble they still love him, but then they would wouldn’t they

Fair enough ,thats yr opinion, this was my response:

@WHAT??? : Reading yr defence of tevez . Difference of opinion granted but defending a fuckshit like that by presenting yr conclusions in which u disregard Fergie and the club as being the screwups is misguided.

If its true our club screwed up then by all means we have to accept it, I do believe we have to accept that maybe we shud have handled it better.

The key factor u missed was the issue of finance.

Lets start with the legal issue first, our club worked for weeks with not just our club lawyers but outside lawyers to find out the real situation with tevez ownership ,how liverpoo signed macherano, what effect wud the league and FA sanctions wud effect us, plus Sheffield court action and etc.
Once all was done , the club felt it cud proceed , they signed tevez on a 2 year loan deal with an agreed cost for each year plus salary and the final figure.

2 GLARING reasons why, legally if anything blewup they cud pull out, secondly the clubs finances.
It was a risky and uncertain time for us,financially. The club spent record amounts in total in transfers but contra’d that with sales amounting to 36 mil pounds. So actual outlay was minimum.

Now conclude all that Tevez said about Fergie and the club, he loved us .

    What changed?

Our club tried to negotiated a lower fee with Kia and his billionaire friends. Our finances and with world recession ,with the trouble British bank were in for example, it was unstable and risky for our club. The club pulled out of a refinancing deal under advicement that financial markets were in the verge of collapse.

Kia/billionaire friends did not take kindly to this. They did not get into this to babysit, they wanted thier big payday for thier venture.

U remember Gary Nevilles article in the Malta newspaper? Tevez reaction? cos he did not read or understand the situation himself, just accepted whatever pranks or bull he was told.
What does this mean? He just dosent have the ability to understand the big picture ,small picture or any clear picture on his own, he needs someone to spell it out for him.

He took our renegotiations and delay as an insult cos thats what Kia was feeding him.
He started insulting both Fergie and the club , i found his u turn on us to be that of an idiot working on the assumption that the fans wud understand whatt he was to do. Blame Fergie and the club.

    U bought this idea.

Then he joined our bitter rivals . It wasnt cheap, the figure city paid is close to 40 mil pounds and more to have him. SO kia and his billionaire friends got what they wanted .
Then kia and those guys parted company. Kia is now a lone wolf playing agent and friend.

Key point here, dont forget this. When our AIG deal came thru,Gill immediately put an offer on the table that our club cud now afford. A deal that wud mtake this idiot tevez the highest paid player at the club.Kia said no ,more money offered by city

Now if u look at his record at city , he shows his true colors. Why u dont see it , is interesting.
By the way he has had affairs that help send his wife back to argentina, so dont play that card about family. If inter or someone else offered him the deal he likes he will go . So dont believe the dribble .

He lied to us ,insulted us, fucked around with city , will do it again at inter or which ever the club that is willing to put up with him.

That part is not written , u never know he cud do so well and win something, u wud be back in here with the same lines. But historically it looks like he wud continue this shit he pulls.

I could add more points here but got to go now. 9am here workday Friday.”

  27. NBI Red Onion says:

Just seen Harry Potter in 3D – I can confirm the away shirt, is no ordinary shirt, it is from Hogwarts, blended with eleven lines of magic to defeat the Barcamort formerly known as Tom, it was given to the team United by Master SAF when he knew they were ready to slay the evil Barcamort killer dwarfs and their wicked majic pass.

The Captain was told by the Master that the special majic shirt would bring him luck and so this day he goes forth now with his team of United the good, the bad and the Rooney, to vanquish the beast of UEFA for once and all in the temple of Munich.

Well, the last away shirt looked like a Bolton home kit from 1996. I wasn’t impressed with it. New one is OK, but a bit too ‘rugby’ for me. NBI Red Onion, no more posts like that please. There’s a good lad.

  32. NBI Red Onion says:

    @ Giggsy’s Lawyer

Mate when JK Rowling wrote like that she made 200 million bucks. It’s art. But don’t worry, I am done expressing my creative side for the year.

On an aside I have to say I loved Becks comment – the game with Galaxy against City is a “small game”…! Legend.

@ FletchTHEMAN – re Machaeda, he looks hungry and it’s good to see his confidence is not shot. I am looking forward to seeing him Wellbeck and Cleverly playing together, which will hopefully happen against Chicago. His one weakness – and correct me if I am wrong – but he is not good in the air, I can’t recall him scoring with headers, his goals tend to be great strikes on the ground around the penalty box. So I am looking forward to seeing him score different types of goals and be more of a threat from set plays.
