VIDEO: £26m Agreed For Lucas Moura?

The Mirror is claiming tonight that Manchester United have agreed a £26m deal with bring Lucas Moura from Sao Paulo. They reckon a deal has been struck between the two clubs and now we have to agree personal terms.

“Yes, I have told Lucas he should come to Manchester United, of course,” Rafael da Silva said earlier today. “If you saw the way we played at Middlesbrough [against Team GB] you will know Brazilian players can play well in England.”

Bugger off Scott! Was just about to post a link lol. It’s the mirror though. I thought United had a £27 million bid turned down? We’ll see on this…

    Boys got insane skills!

  2. DreadedRed says:

Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who will fare best of them all?

  3. Andooo says:

In his sub appearance against Team GB he looked a real prospect. Still feel we need the enforcer type midfielder far more urgently but oh well when they look this good who cares

  4. Costas says:

At least Rafa did better on this department compared to Evra. Still waiting for Hazard, Pat!

  5. wayne says:

That what i was thinking Wille, clips make a player look good, most though one could look through their whole careers and never find that kind of skill

  6. destiny says:

    He’s good. Up united.

  7. Devil310 says:

WTF? Don’t tease me like that….that shit ain’t fair. I’m still getting over the Sneijder conundrum

  8. Tule J says:

Lucas Moura’s got mad skills and a friend of mine told me he’s better on the ball than Neymar.

  9. Andooo says:

By 2014 we might have quite a few world cup winners on our books. Quite the Brazilian contingency we got now, all with huge potential.

  10. TheCANTONA says:

Hmm, interesting news. Never see him play but quite excited if it comes true.
    @costas:
Don’t forget evra tried to convince nasri too…

  11. AlphaRS says:

Haven’t we signed any Moura players yet?
RVP next on the shopping list. Ha.

  12. Costas says:

    @TheCANTONA

Ah yeah mate. I remembered it was someone else, but I couldn’t remember who it was.

  13. mahadev says:

another winger! dribbling skills remind me of Ronaldo (original), close control like messi. looks better at 19 than ronaldo did. but another WINGER!!!! i hope this doesnt mean nani is off.

  14. Zibbie says:

    yES GO LUCAS!!!!!!!

  15. Zibbie says:

    wow!!!!!!!!!!!! wow!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. EDCUNITED1878 says:

Umm….I’m having a Mouragasm watching this. My oh me oh my. Scott you are on fire recently, take a bow, take a bow.

  17. Zibbie says:

Official news will be awesome for now I will think it true.

  18. wayne says:

So Utd pay 26 mill to the club, then some to his dad and agents.lol what a racket

  19. kanchelskis says:

Ooh, another winger / attacking mf / forward player. Good. We don’t have enough of those.

Now to the real business of shifting some of those redundant orthodox top-class central midfielders we’ve got lying around.

  20. Zibbie says:

HAHAHHAHAHA PEOPLE BITCH ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA FUCK!!!
    BITE ME ANY WHO COMPLAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. JC says:

Wow Kagawa, Powell, Baines, Dembele, RVP, Moura, and the kitchen sink! What a great summer signing season it’s been…

  22. WillieRedNut says:

If this turns out to be true for once, Rafael should get a new improved contract. And let him conclude any of our future deals!

  23. kanchelskis says:

    @Zibbie

Sure I was being glib. I welcome the transfer of any decent player to the club. But next season when the midfields of City/Barca/Real/Bayern play ours off the park again, I reserve the right to question whether our money could’ve been better spent elsewhere.

  24. JC says:

Btw, i hear that the mirror’s source on this “buzz” goes by the name of a certain common insect… ;)

  25. Mahesh says:

I gotta ask – I thought they rejected a higher amount, so how did they accept a lower bid? This is kind of hilarious!

  26. mig78 says:

whoever came up with the best “mirror mirror on the wall…” quote will receive a special gift from STR.
    Let the game begin…

  27. Zibbie says:

I thought so wow big K forget it! I have no weed for 2 days on edge pain up, every 3 4 months I go smoke free and except the pain. My bad Big K.

  28. Zibbie says:

    JC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. Bred Red says:

An excellent aquisition IF it turns out to be factual. Let us hope.

  30. hesselbom says:

I like to look at highlight videos from games instead of a compilation like this. Here’s an impressive one from earlier this year, Moura vs Denmark, senior team: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZqONzqoIhM&feature=related

  31. Zibbie says:

    Bred Red is back, nice.

  32. Costas says:

    @Mahesh

They are looking to sell him from what I’ve heard, but they were also hoping that more clubs would get involved. Since that hasn’t happened, I am guessing their stance softened.

  33. wayne says:

i’m with Zibbie this lads only 19 and he has a bigger youtube portfolio than most already, what i’ve read this lad is adaptable to different positions and obviously he’s only 19.Watching that clip if he progresses and his best is still 5 to 6 years away, pretty scary, worth the chance.Dippers 35mill on Carroll or take a chance 26mill for him,not even close

  34. Mahesh says:

@Costas – sounds fair! If this is a true story then its an immense capture. Obviously though looks the we intend to function along the maxim “attack is the best for of defense” because apparently areas where a lot of us think we need to beef up are clearly not management priority. No hard midfielder, no left back, but going all out for another winger, and a top class striker. Not complaining though, I’d rather concede 5 and score 10 than win stuff 1-0!

  35. Zibbie says:

    ———–DDG————-

    Rafa—Rio—Vida—Evra

    TV7—Carrick——Nani

    Lucas–Rooney–Kagawa

  36. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

I call Bullshit….its a rejected bid and soon will be denied by Sao Paulo stating “They are off the valuation and will have to meet it to activate a release clause”.

    Sauce?

    No Not The Fly

    His accomplice, The Flea

    :P

  37. Mahesh says:

@Zibbie – where’s RVP? :) Boy we’re going to be hammering people if the Moura and RVP transfers go through!

  38. samuel - united WE stand says:

If this deal turns out to be true then adding moura will make united incredibly difficult to stop both in the premier league and europe. FERGIE is gathering talents to guide united back to the top.

Moura looks impressive and unpredictable. Has that brazilian flair that will embarrass defenders. He’s short but he looks strong.

  39. AlphaRS says:

The only thing I can think is that Lucas has waived his cut of the transfer fee which has enabled £26 million to be enough for his club.

  40. kanchelskis says:

    @Zibbie

One central midfielder? Are you on a wind-up?

  41. Zibbie says:

    SAF has his plan,
    21 mill so far
    LB and Dembelle 20 – 25 more
    Lucas 25-30 more

  42. Zibbie says:

hahahaha an offensive home game against a week team…

  43. Zibbie says:

    MUFC will my child.

  44. samuel - united WE stand says:

Why is it that when an attacking midfielder is linked with united, people bring up nani as being potentially sold?. The portuguese is united’s current most talented winger.

  45. kanchelskis says:

    @Zibbie.

Haha OK. Fair enough. Would be worth a go!

  46. Markonefive says:

He’s definitely a good player, I agree with costas, maybe they were trying to turn it into a bidding war but unfortunately inter didnt show their hand, I think the arrival of Lucas will signal a change of tactics somewhat like this : de gea Rafael rio vidic evra Carrick Valencia kagawa moura young Rooney so it’s like a 4 1 4 1 hopefully with the fluidity and interchange we had in 07/08 when we had Ronaldo and tears Ohhh and follow me on twitter: mark_onefive

  47. The Cuntona says:

Looks like its on his official facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/Lucas.Moura.official

Still not convinced yet till I hear it from Sir Alex that we’ve got him. Fuck me, what a signing this would be.

  48. wayne says:

No question whatever happens Utd are showing serious intent, already signed Kawaga and Powell, bids in for RVP and this lad, still think the Baines and Dembele rumors are not bullshit, the good thing so far it isn’t warfare against the mental cases

  49. Devil310 says:

If we sign this kid, will definitely give SAF a headache in terms of team selection. I know he is only 19, but I don’t see him playing in CM. I probably would see Kagawa more suitable in this roll that Moura, which looks more like a winger or a classic #10

But will see what happens….I hope signing him does not mean the end of Nani

  50. Mahesh says:

Thing is this was bound to happen, if not this year then in the next few years – once the big spenders have assembled the squad they want, they can’t endlessly buy up talent. Which is when the likes of us come in – we don’t want to be spending silly money, and want value – once everyone has their squad, we can build ours! :) Simples, its was all part of the plan!

  51. Zibbie says:

310 we will keep Nani as well. Thatsa good headache to have, competitiveness at all spots is a good thing.

  52. eko412 says:

Hi all, new in here, can’t help to give comment on this, maybe we agree to sold nani for 80 mil, so we can buy a lot new player XD

  53. wayne says:

lol Zibbie that’s what i just said, swear to god mate didn’t read the article

  54. Zibbie says:

LOL Wayne, I know us North American do not know?????

  55. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Can someone tell me how Tom Cleverley played against Brazil?

Footage or analysis will do ! :D

My mates (Tosser Arsenal fan) says Clevs “was slow, movement was off, a bit rigid like Scholes and not the same direct kid of pre-season and August”.

I took that a compliment and as a sign of slowing down and becoming more educated but, based on no footage can I judge his performance.

Does anyone have a 2-cents on Clevs vs Brazillia ?

  56. Zibbie says:

If I link the wrong rag I get schooled or called a fool!

  57. divz says:

Interesting prospect and wears a certain ‘no. 7′ for his current club as well….

  58. markg says:

when we won everything in 99 with the 4 forwards everyone was droppable , we are going to be set in our ways if we sign the rapist 2 up front what was the point in signing kawaga to play in the hole where he played for dortmund. we are fucking hernabdez and wellbeck will they stick around after we sign that prick.
STR- we know we’re fucked with the debt with the glazers but what do you do who ever else buys us out is going to laden us with debt as well . we just have to stick it out clear the debt gradually and rely on the fair play regulations (ie. 50% wages of turnover)

  59. Devil310 says:

@Clint – I was wondering the same thing. I still haven’t given up on TC23. I can’t say the same about Anderson….but I would love to eat my and see those 2 dominate our midfield like they did early last season

@Zibbie – agree it is a good problem to have. If we do sign the lad, he might not be as involved this year as some would hope. Not only because of the established players, but also since it might take him some time to adjust

  60. markg says:

Kanchelskis i’m surprised with your username you are complaning about us buying another winger lol

  61. Zibbie says:

markg, I saw Kagawa play 10 – 13 games last year with club and country, before Gotze got hurt he play in the MF wing and behind the 9. For country Honda plays behind the 9 he plays rw, the kid can play any up front spoy almost. Skills with the ball liken to Scholes, Paul started as a striker, AMF MF to HMFer. Kagawa will shine where ever he plays. Like every year SAF has an Idea then lets their play decide who gets more mins and where, then for the big games he slims down to his fav 15.

  62. Devil310 says:

Watching the rent boys play PSG. Good match so far. Only 20mins so far, but PSG have ran circles around them at times

  63. Mahesh says:

apparently Oscar (headed to chelsea) was pretty brilliant against GB, while GB unsurprisingly were terrible. I personally don’t rate Cleverley too highly – I would love for him to succeed, but can’t see him cutting it.

  64. Mahesh says:

@Devil310: you mean rent boys play rent boys 3.0?

  65. keano99 says:

@ zibbie the metro is a free paper u get on busses and trains going to work! they just trawl the internet looking for stuff to print I can send u a copy if u like lol u might run out of toilet paper one day.

  66. Zibbie says:

He has Rafa, Anderson, as well Nani and Bebe speak his language a big help. SAF has a plan, Fabio to good to sit behind iron man Evra and he and bro need to grow so he ships him to QPR and now Rafa has Lucas as his new buddy and can show him the ropes of MUFC!!!!!!

  67. Zibbie says:

    Thanks 99
310 at fucking Yankee Stadium to boot!!!

  68. eko412 says:

@devil30 PSG with all their new signings?

  69. markg says:

zibbie – yeah i agree with you but with valencia on right our number 7 and ashley young / nani on the left plus the impending transfer of lucas moura excuse my spelling where does that leave kawaga

  70. Zibbie says:

markg shit Kagawa plays out left for his country.

  71. markg says:

zibbie – where is he going to play for us

  72. Devil310 says:

    @Mahesh – LOL….Exactly

@Zibbie – I’m pretty impressed on how they do that. It looks like the field is set up somewhere in the outfield.

    PSG 1 – Chelsea )

Pastore with a great move was unlucky not to score. Nene scored the rebound off the post. Good game so far

  73. Zibbie says:

my bad out left, behind the 9, cm, in a 4-2-3-1 any of the 3, ect. I think he will just rule the AMF roll what ever formation in a 4-5-1 lw next in on the other side of the mid guy of the 5! Front of a diamond. He will make others sit. I believe he will be in SAF for those big stretch games.
    38 PL games
    FA cup
    CC
MUFC plays almost 60 games a year plenty of games to go around.

  74. Devil310 says:

eko412 – Ibra is not in there yet. I think he might be introduced on tuesday. But they do have a pretty solid team out there

  75. FletchTHEMAN says:

This story has been denied by the players agent and the VP of the team

    Mike Keegan ‏@mikekeeganmen
São Paulo president Juvenal Juvêncio and player’s agent Vagner Ribeiro deny that Lucas Moura has been sold to #mufc (@Pitacodogringo)

It is the MIRROR you are talking about people! Silly season

  76. Zibbie says:

maybe by the end of the year a 4-60 formation with 5 interchangeable attackers and TV7 on the right white line.

  77. markg says:

zibbie – if van persie signs we have 2 players up front who you can’t drop we are going to be rigid thats my point, kagawa was signed to be the man in the hole i think when SAF seen him playing for dortmund behind the polish forward

  78. Zibbie says:

Thanks Fletch. Bubble bust for tonight, waiting on the next one…………

  79. Devil310 says:

Man….Lukaku really gives Carroll a run for his money on the worst signing last season. The guy is shit! Horrible touch. Slow as a turd….how much did they pay for him again?

  80. Zibbie says:

markg cool, I get where you are coming from. I am saying MUFC can never have to many good players, let them fight it pout and some sit, they cry sell’em next year.

  81. Mahesh says:

Thanks Fletch…Okay then back to the Glazers bashing!!!

  82. Zibbie says:

310 the Roma game was at Wrigley Field. how fucking cool!

  83. Brigadier19 says:

    Gefalt Mir Nicht

    Fuck this shit man,

    We sign Brigadier instead.

    It is the only way.

  84. Zibbie says:

The 1/2 man Marko was like a water bug!!!! In there 1st game.

  85. Zibbie says:

My buddy just sent me pictures of the deer he is scouting this year WOW 2 FUCKING GIANTS PUSHING 200 INCHES OF ANTLER!!!!!!

  86. markg says:

yeah zibbie you’re right the more players fighting for positions the better i wasn’t trying to fall out with you at the end of the day we are all UNITED

  87. YS says:

    *weeps*

reminds me of a certain Ronaldo

  88. utd_fc says:

The guy looks good im not gonna lie. BUT they called Ando the next Ronaldinho (fucking joke of the century) and as good as i think he potentially can be, the staunchest of reds can’t make that comparison without laughing their balls off.

The fact of the matter is these brazilian leagues are jokes. A good buddy of mine actually saw a couple of games in Brazil recently including Santos vs Sao Paolo. He told me the standard of football was so low, on average, that it was no wonder players like Lucas and Neymar look SO SO good.

Pit these same players against top class professional defenders and it’ll make a world of a difference.

  89. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Just to avoid confusion ….Its my mates opinion, I havent seen Clevs since Ajax game so I’d like to hear a 2nd opinion.

  90. MartyRed says:

Ive watched this lucas Moura video now atleast 4times… Hes like a young ronnie but my god this kid is built like a mother fucking brick shit house and loves to ride a tackle and suck defenders in. Hes got some nifty quick feet and that bullish type of play that just wont lie down. Like I see this guy playing in Tony V’s position, our new number 7 so I think its strange to buy a player of that type since we seem to have plenty of cover in the wings, its our CM that we need to strengthen. That was my logic talking but now the kid that lives inside me is about to take over and say sign this boy up and he will lead us to champions league glory once again, the mother fucking promised land! By the way I know this isn’t a done deal or anything but like my dad says there aint smoke without fire and hes a fireman!

  91. Zibbie says:

makg all good no fall out here. I get your passion.

  92. Brigadier19 says:

United are fucking fucked you know.

    They well and truly finished.

    Don’t sign no superstar.

I think Fergie will get us relagated you know.

    We fucked you know.

    It is over.

    Buonesera.

  93. Zibbie says:

Marty Ride the tackle cool, strong low center of gravity. Not how he plays all over the park. His gaffer mentioned just that Marty, like Ronaldo the first. strong physical in tight places.

  94. Zibbie says:

    I taugh I saw a puddy cat! I did I did , see a puddy cat!

  95. Zibbie says:

we have 3 proven wings, TV7, Nani and Young. simple SAF loves wings. When he retires he is moving to Buffalo NY home of the hot Wings.

  96. Brigadier19 says:

Zibbo you did you know a puddy cat name a Roy Keane yer know.

  97. Zibbie says:

Smoke was a good cyber friend on Fox, I saw him on RoM 18 months back and never again Hi smoke.
SMOKE, SMOKE , SMOKE THAT CIGARETTE!!! FIRE UN HU UN HU UNHU FIRE!!!!!!

  98. Zibbie says:

    BUY FOR NOW!

  99. Zibbie says:

Me first favorite player when I saw him play for Ireland, well him and Maldini.

  100. united.george says:

Zibbie – Chicago has better wings now….

  101. Neil says:

“my father is the king in Manchester” hahaha, love it!

  102. samuel - united WE stand says:

Clint – cleverly tried to link up play, his short quick passing were on show but he could have done with imposing himself more. Let’s be honest, the GB team had no chance against an outstanding brazilian team. They were technically better, they looked more fluid and had better movements. If any player looked truly horrendous in that game, then it’s micah richards. Cleverly still isn’t the finished article, he has it in him to do more. Time will tell if he does. I wouldn’t write him off.

  103. MyTer says:

    Daniele de rossi next…Pls!!

  104. The Cuntona says:

    Legend

  105. TheCANTONA says:

    The Cuntona:
What’s wrong with u? Using name cuntona? Fuckin hell! Are u real United fan or what? Show some respect to the King u ashole!! If u’re United fan, Type his name “CANTONA” Correctly!!

  106. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Samuel – Thanks mate, Im not writing him off lol, we got a whole season ahead for that ;)

My mate is a gooner, so that cunt has written off Clevs based on one game and the cunt also believes Ramsey is shit, Carrick is poo, Parker is quality, Lamps and Gerrard are world beaters and Shelvey + Spearing are the future of England and Liverpool. He believes Barry is a valuable asset more so than Alonso and Busquets.

This guy is unbelievable in his views so I obviously came to RoM for a 2nd opinion.

  107. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

TheCanOpener – now thats a name you can use instead, you Kunt

  108. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

Fuck all this “where are we gonna play him” bullshit!

This dude is the next Messi. I haven’t been this excited about a signing since Mame Biram Diouf. I can’t believe some of you fucks are talking shite.

Seriously, though, I am gonna buy a “LUCAS 36″ jersey. Unless we have any lower numbers available that I’m forgetting.

    Get some fuck yeah

  109. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

    Gareth Barry?

I’m not really even sure what his footballing qualities are.

    A poor man’s Michael Carrick.

And I mean really poor. Broke. Busted. No cash. So poor that the dude is giving blow jobs, just to get something warm in his stomach.

  110. ygor freitas says:

26 million for a brazilian nani, you gotta be kidding me, United. Believe me, guys… another FUCKING nani or worse, could be a remake of kleberson, i’m brazilian i know what i’m talking about…

    Cheers.
    Ygor

  111. TheCANTONA says:

Never knew a brazilian named Ygor…

  112. mansuy united says:

While I won’t slag a United player off and even suggest he be sold, this acquisition is going to make it very difficult for Ashley Young to get a sniff of first team action. Great player, but still not sold that he is United first 11 quality. I’d love for him to prove me wrong though :)

  113. Vivek says:

Looking at him and the defenders reminds me of the Coyote and the Road Runner. It would be fun watching him do all his trick in front of the baffled defenders.

Would love a bit of trickery and magic which has been missing since CR7 left. Valencia is more direct and a no-nonsense Winger. We would require some bit of trick/magic stuff to unlock a few robust defence.

Lets hope the deal is a concluded matter.

  114. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

He’ll be great if we get him – for about 3 or 4 years max – when he decides it his childhood dream to play in the all white of Real Madrid.

  115. Ash says:

I watched him play against GB and have to say he is a real deal. I would love to have him. Now we are buying players and yet some have problem.

ygor- Honestly he is looking better than what nani was at 19. I love nani and he should stay here but nani at 19 was more frustrating to see. Lucas on other hand isa more talented kid. Look at his ball control. He is special. I will take gamble on this.

At first even I thought it is bullshit as 26 millions could not be a fee but then I realised it could be as no other team are now trying to buy him. Sao paulo must have realized thatit is no point wasting time. They may not get better offer.

I will welcome moura very happily. :)

  116. ronny_nch says:

nope. 26m is just too much for unproven youngster. does’t matter if he turns out to be like ronaldo or messi, but he’s just too expensive for kid.

  117. Ash says:

    PJBS

Even if he doeS decides to go to madrid or barca we can demand great amount of money. Like CR7 his resale value could be monstrous. I still believe we let ronaldo go for cheap. We could have easily asked for 100 millions atleast. So if moura has 5-6 great season and helps us to win many trophies then if he wants to leave we may sell him for more than 100 million.

Like zibbie pointed out it is along season. There are many competition we compete in so it would be nice if we have option available. And moreover lucas is still young so he won’t mind being benched for a game or two. He would be willing to play cameo roles in his first season . So there is no worry in that.

  118. Sandeep1878 says:

No idea what so ever about the reality and hoax of this deal..

    ##

Who are real fans? The ones who have never been to a match, don’t criticise the Glazers and buy a replica shirt every summer?

I Never been to a match,

    I dont buy replica,

    I dont like Glazers..

am i entitled to call myself a real fan?

fucking funny world this we are living in…

all this bullocks of fans not being real because they never been to watch..horse shit…

  119. eric keane says:

    don’t understand one thing.

if his agent and the club declined a fee being agreed why’s it still on his official face book page??

also apparently he tweeted ‘manchester’ only to remove it two secs later.

  120. Ash says:

Ronaldinho could have played for us if he had sold beckham to Barca instead of Madrid. Just saying, I still cannot understand why we sold beckham to Madrid instead of barca. We were in pole position to sign Ronaldinho but the time we sold beckham to madrid (Who was a prime target for barca) . barca also joined the race and outbid us. I know because of that we found CR7 but still cannot understand why we sold beckham to real madrid.

  121. Ash says:

if we had sold becks to barca. TYPO

  122. eric keane says:

@ash : madrid outbid barca by about 5 mil. that’s what ‘ve heard..

  123. zelalem says:

this is away to secure 20 times champion .It is great news

  124. Corea says:

Dunno about how hard is in Brazil but pretty awesome video. :)
Who is Hazard anyway ??? :)

  125. eric keane says:

@EPL_ES, a twitter account with 31k followers just tweeted:

    Lucas Agent:

    which google translates to

‘Now we are awaiting a meeting with the Utd to define the contract of Lucas and reach an agreement.’

‘ will seek to agree on the salary and that Lucas has tab of the first team since we do not want this in the reserves.’

‘ We had offers from other teams as Madrid, Chelsea etc but only Lucas wanted to go to Manchester United.’

  126. Corea says:

@eric keane – thank God we have Rafaels and Andersons. Good one Rafa the boy!

‘ We had offers from other teams as Madrid, Chelsea etc but only Lucas wanted to go to Manchester United.’

    Sweeet! :)

  127. Corea says:

    And another one!
I am sure certain mister Wenger is going to tell he also wanted to sign the player! :)

  128. eric keane says:

@ corea : still not sure about this mate. will only believe when i see him holding that pathetic gingham.

    :D

now lets hope we get dembele .. .. . .

  129. Corea says:

@eric keane – is Dembele our much-awaited central midfielder ??
De Rossi please but won’t going to happen.

  130. CedarsDevil says:

    Morning all

Impressive video, that is all I have seen of the kid to be honest…….However Brazil and its league is full of players with such skills, how many of them can make it in Europe is another thing. If the story is true and we do get then its a major statement of intent by the club………We want our title back

  131. eric keane says:

corea– de rossi ain’t happening.. fergie said ‘destroyers’ are a dying breed.. dembele is a ball playing center mid.. much much under-rated as compared to continental players a-la strootman etc..
can be bought for around 15mil.. will serve as back up till tunnicliffe as well as petrucci are ready to step up..

to put it in another way, he’s not so good that’ll he’ll hamper tunni and petrucci progress..
he’s good enough to put the scouse midfield to shame..

  132. Ash says:

    eric keane

Thanks for lucas info. I hope this is true. It would be a great signing for us. I again say this boy is very talented. Already has 15 national caps to his name. Great talent. Under Sir alex he can only get better.

  133. one two says:

@rom..I don’t know what to type since am so excited to see what happens next. This only happened to me once bfore after we sold CR7.This is gonna be the highest profile transfer thats gonna happen next to neymar. He is gonna be a player which i believe will be competing for POTY and ballon d’or.
I have been waiting for this transfer for the past 3years.Thank god this happening. Now only SAF can stop this transfer due to personal tearms.
Oh boy..rooney+moura+kagawa+nani..powerful english delight with the samba beat joined by japanese samurai..lets not forget the red hot TV7..Ok i am gonna say whats in gaffer’s mind..bring on barca..we will rape them..yeah and this time its serious buisiness..watch this space..GGMU

  134. one two says:

    @eric keane
very thanx for the twiter info

  135. CedarsDevil says:

Can someone please tell me what GGMU means? Is it Go Go Man Utd or is it Glory Glory Man Utd?

Either way I do not like personally and I hope people would stop using it…….Just my opinion.

    TheCANTONA

If you read this mate, my comment about Robbo on the other thread was a joke, perhaps the fact that I do not use smiley’s did not give it away

  136. CedarsDevil says:

Slow morning on the Republik…..Could do with Mr Bee on here cracking a few

  137. Balaji Sivaraman says:

    Morning ROM and Cedars!

So, if this deal is confirmed and we get a young Brazilian for 26 mil, will that change people’s opinion about us having not enough money and us not doing enough in the transfer market? Will people finally agree that Sir Alex hasn’t been lying about him having money and not using it?

  138. CedarsDevil says:

    Balaji

Morning mate, what are you on about? Fergie lies to us all the time, been telling us lies for 25 years now…..All them 37 trophies were a fluke

  139. Mikekelly12 says:

    Morning bog trotters
What’s all this Lucas mayhem? Like I’ve said many a time. Until he comes trotting out the tunnel in August I will be of the notion that he (whoever the target) has decided not to sign. The amount of “done deals” over the years which have been undone is substantial. God I sound like a miserable fucker! on a brighter note, Kagawa will help us win the league this year!!

  140. Sandeep1878 says:

    Morning nip biters,

    Hello Cedara, M19ke and Balaji,

    M19ke, Back from mexico?

  141. CedarsDevil says:

    Sandy Baby

Hello dip shit, sent you an email earlier you fuck wit! ha ha ha

    Mike

We all know what Kagawa will do mate, need I say it again?

  142. Mikekelly12 says:

Kags… Kags will tear you apart again!!

  143. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

No mate, that is NOT what he will do……..You’re not too far of though

  144. Devil310 says:

Mike – you sound like an old fart! lol….how are you mate?

  145. mara says:

Let it be truth…but more than that…is that he really is world class…and great player…

  146. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
Of course we know he’ll rape shit!!!
    Sandeep
Morning pal. Haha. Managed to swerve Mehico!!
    Devil310
Morning fella. I’m allowed to sound like an old fart, I turn 40 at the end of the year!! Looks like I’ve been priced out of a trip to the states this summer pal, flights are ridiculously expensive from here! Bar a lottery win this week it looks like a summer in Manc. Cedars – that applies to Cyprus too at the moment, can’t get anything below £400 and paying for two puts it just out of reach. Gutted on both counts.

  147. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Morning Reds

Moura is a quality lets hope there is some truth in it, i think the RvP deal is looking more like a smokescreen to keep City away from Moura.

Mike – Are you going Old Trafford this weekend for the olympics? I got a ticket last week two games for £40 so having a cheeky day out.

  148. Devil310 says:

Mike – 40 is the new 30 my man. Sad to hear about your trip. I’ll try to go to Manchester around October. If not next year before the season is over…but we’ll see. the exchange rate kills me.

  149. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

Well that sounds like crap to be honest! Was looking forward to seeing the Monkey in Cyprus

  150. mara says:

i didnt say that he is already world classs…but that i hope that he is…and that this 30 mils will be good spent money..

  151. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Devil310

Mate when you come across this time stay in Manchest and we will paint the town Red mate. We wills how you a night you dont see on trip advisor :-)

  152. CedarsDevil says:

    Giggs12

Piss off mate, we all know you are a K agent………Never trusted them East Standers………ha ha ha

Right pissing off for some shopping, have a long list from me Linda……..Laters you beauties

  153. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Mara

Dont know if that was a reply to me but I absolutely agree with you in case you thought i never.

  154. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Cedars

I am sat in K for teh olympics mate…….you know the score catch you later

  155. samuel - united WE stand says:

anyone the actual kick off for the united match vs shanghai?. is it 1pm in midnight? or during the day?

  156. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Samuel

It is PM mate, that being GMT that is?

  157. Mikekelly12 says:

    Giggs12
Got tickets for the quarters on the 4th mate. Spain vs whoever comes second to brazil.
    Devil310
I echo what Giggs12 says, get your ass over to Manchester earlier and we’ll hit the hot spots!! I haven’t given up on the states or Cyprus yet fellas, where there’s hope there’s light!!!

  158. Sandeep1878 says:

    Cedars,

    Replied to your Email mate..

    Guggsy12,

How are you pal? Got ticket for Everton?

  159. Mrad_leb says:

    Mornig Reds,
Morning Cedars how are you doing with this hot weather ??
MUFC press conf due in 20 min

  160. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Sandy

Morning mate, literally just applied for Everton as we speak. Applications came out today.

  161. Mikekelly12 says:

According to Steve Bateman the mirror story is bollocks (shock horror) apparently personal terms were agreed weeks ago, the hold up is still the fee. Italian press are saying RVP will snub United for Juve. I love how everyone has a different story, how do they expect any right minded individual to believe anything they’re saying?!

  162. dannysoya LOVES SIAN MASSEY says:

LOL don’t kid yourselves. this is the mirror we are talking about here. We prolly have not signed him yet but I thkwe will eventually get the deal done. If he signs for us he will be a FANTASTIC signing. I just hope this does not mean Nani is being shipped out because I consider Nani as one othe best wingers in world football. He is just TOO GOOD to ship out. Hopefully he and Welbeck can get new deals before shit hits the fan.

  163. mara says:

    Giggs12…spot on…

  164. Costas says:

Fergie has a press conference today so hopefully some things will get clarified.

  165. Mrad_leb says:

@costas.. press conference in about 5 min

  166. Johnbosco obiora says:

Am happy to here this news Next is Lewandowski and Banies

  167. Costas says:

Vida started full training today says Sir Alex.

  168. WillieRedNut says:

Sir Alex has confirmed our interest in Lucas Moura. No agreement yet, though.

  169. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

Press conference is just for the tour nothing exclusive.

  170. Costas says:

    From Manutd.com:

Sir Alex begins by talking about how he’ll cover Chris Smalling’s injury. “It’s not 100% Jonny Evans and Nemanja Vidic will start the season. Jonny will start running today. Vida and Phil Jones started full training today, which is very positive. If I can keep Rio fit, then Vidic and Jones should give us ample cover.”

Also, he said we don’t have an agreement about MOura but there’s interest in him.

  171. Costas says:

    Damn you willie. :P

  172. WillieRedNut says:

Sir Alex, “We’re trying very hard to bring players in”

    Costas – :D

  173. WillieRedNut says:

Sorry! Sir Alex full quote, “We’re not laying on our backsides doing nothing, We’re trying very hard to bring other players in”

    Great news on Vidic!

  174. Costas says:

Willie you forgot the part about us not sitting on our backside.

  175. Ballin... says:

    http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lucas-Moura/321043714575335
This is his real page. Nothing said on the transfer.

  176. Costas says:

    Damn you again Willie.

  177. WillieRedNut says:

Costas – Too quick mate! :P

  178. Mikekelly12 says:

Transfer smash hit of the summer “50 Shades of Bull shit”

  179. parryheid says:

Man does he know how to flannel people, were trying hard to bring players in.Yeah right heard it.

  180. Sandeep1878 says:

Costas, The NI Dude beat you in streaming the news here ;)

    Willie,

hey up pal? hang over eh? :P

  181. Mahesh says:

The way SAF framed it – “…until such time a we get a deal agreed we can’t say he’s our player” – makes it sound like a deal is really really close. But that is assuming that there is a deliberate nuance to the language used. SAF seems to be saying we’re pretty close to calling him “our player.” We shall see but this will be a big signing. My sense is we need to play some catch up not with City but more with Chelsea who are simply on fire in the transfer market – smoothly signing major talent, with Hulk likely up next!

  182. eric keane says:

So we’ve shown ‘interest’ in moura as well as RVP. Weird shit. First time fergie’s discussing transfer targets with the press..
That might mean we already have both in the bag or we might lose out on both of them (going by past experience)

  183. CedarsDevil says:

    What’s up dip shits?

Seems we have us a bit of a news race between Willie and Costas on here…….My money would always have been on Costas to be honest, but it seems Willie is ahead on this one!

  184. eric keane says:

@mahesh : true.. I thought the same thing.. Also think those dembele rumors have some truth in them.. Would be chuffed if we actually signed a CM!! Can’t see it happening though..

  185. eric keane says:

@ cedars : agree with you on GGMU. Find it a bit stupid…

  186. WillieRedNut says:

    Sandeep – Hungover? I don’t drink mate. ;)

  187. jeet says:

    GGMU!

  188. CedarsDevil says:

    Sandy Baby

Of course Willie does not drink mate, he only shags Grey Gooses for a hobby!!

  189. CedarsDevil says:

    Jeet

    Piss off!

  190. MG says:

All I want to know is that we are trying to sign Robin Van Cedars and Moura – so where is all this money coming from?

Did we somehow fix the lending rates between banks?

    Manipulate oil prices?

    Start illegal wars?

    Something doesn’t add up.

    :D

Morning all – all be it late – eye is being kind to me today must be the weather – but the new glasses are a pain in the backside – too strong – need to go back to the opticians

    Another day another adventure

    19

  191. eric keane says:

    @ Jeet : :D

Who here thinks we might not end up signing anyone else?? I have a sneaky feeling. All of this seems too good to be true

  192. mig78 says:

    i’d like to say GGMU!

  193. CedarsDevil says:

Why hello MG me good friend……..

Life on this blog as it were without you is not the same………..Keep looking after the eye and get posting regularly, I for one have missed you here

  194. Sandeep1878 says:

    Lol at cedars,

Willie – are you for real? :P

    ##

    Jeet and Eric Keane,

I still think we are not signing any player who will have immediate impact..not in my this transfer book ;)

    ##

    cedars – GGMU

  195. eric keane says:

@ MG : fergie terrorized them glaziers into paying up!!

Another alternative : glazers need to make the club look an exciting prospect with the ipo coming up. Not that we’re not exciting enough..

  196. eric keane says:

Fergie’s become quite the talkative fella this window..
Remember he gave that bob cass hell for printing a story about wee wes?? It was related to his wages I think.
Hence I think either we’ve already signed these two or he’s going to drop a bomb and sign someone completely unrelated..

  197. jeet says:

    @cedars: just chillax, dude!
@EK: I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we signed no one else

  198. jeet says:

He’s Willie – he shags what he wants!

  199. CedarsDevil says:

We were in for wee Wes, no doubt about that, thank fuck we did not get him, lots of baggage…..We have our wee Thomas

  200. DreadedRed says:

Did u tag me in a photo by mistake pal?

  202. Mikekelly12 says:

@mrmujac: Gary Neville picks his best ever 5-a-side team…look at his face when the interviewer asks ‘why scholes’…classic! http://t.co/A9seEgIb

  203. CedarsDevil says:

    Jeet

Enough with this @ bollocks pal……Does my head in

  204. CedarsDevil says:

And all you twatter tweeting fuckers do my head in as well! ha ha ha

  205. Mikekelly12 says:

When I try and post acronyms my posts don’t appear?? Is there a cedars defence mechanism on RoM??

  206. 911_DEVIL says:

If its true then we gonna kick ass next season

But something is quite strange about all these…
Since when ferguson admits that we are after someone we still haven’t got hold of
He told BBC that we are after the sao paulo superteen
But didn’t say the clubs reached to an agreement

  207. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    MG
It will be the money that was in the bank after the Ronaldo sale that everyone said the Glazers knicked. Sir Alex was right, Gill was right. We do have money, the finances are stable and always has been its just last year there wasnt anything worth bringing in besides we still werent sure about Fletchers condition. I realise Fletcher is no play maker and probably isnt the man to link the midfield with attack but you cant bring a player in untill you know roughly what your playing week in and week out and see if they are compatible. Now we know more about what we’ll get from Fletcher over the coming years (which is unfortunately not as much as we would like) we can build around other players.

What would you prefer, spending 35 million last year on Sneijder and 200 000 a week and arrest the development of Cleverly OR spend that on Moura and Kagawa (fee is higher I know but combined wage will more than likely give ack the difference) and allow us to develop a midfield of
    Carrick DM
    Moura Cleverly Kagawa
    Rooney in support
    Wellbeck or Hernandez

  208. Ash says:

So all this agreement is bollocks but I ma happy fergie has confirmed that he is interested in bringing some players. I hope we sign Lucas.

  209. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    Mikekelly12
Thats a classic. That reporter is a complete tool. I could imagine his wifes face drop in amazement like that should she ask “have you been faithful” and he answers “Why”?. Talk about think before you speak, how do these people become reporters, who do you have to fuck to get the job, Ill do it. Murdoch bend over pal.

  210. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

So now I am to be an example of? Cedars defence mechanism you say eh? ha ha ha ha

  211. RED RANGER says:

I’ll be fantastic if we sign Lucas, but I guess the money would be better spent if we use it to sign Javi Martinez,he should be available for around 30 mil.He is pure class..perfect solution for all our central midfield problems

  212. eric keane says:

the more i think about us signing RVP, i like the idea of having 4 strikers..
don’t see how moura fits in with that though..

  213. jeet says:

@cedars: your head was always in….right up the dutch gigolo’s ass

  214. 911_DEVIL says:

I never ge excited about the signing of old players
    Whether they good or not…

I don’t cry when an old dude die
But if a kid does, I burst into tears

I don’t want to get myself excited about this lucas rumours until we complete the deal
And see it confirmed on Manutd.com

Kagawa yeah!! He’s the real deal, terry is too slow for him he’ll not even get a shot at a chance of wanting to kick the guys ass :P

    GGMU!!! Oh, no srry
    19!!!

  215. CedarsDevil says:

    Jeet

This is getting personal mate, I am finding your direct attacks at me offensive, I might write the owner and complain……….Mind you, my head up RvP’s ass would be a sight for sore eyes!! ha ha ha

Sorry I tried to keep this serious but I just pissed my self!!

  216. eric keane says:

Sir Alex on Darren Fletcher: “Darren has a medical situation that he’s trying hard to keep under control. We don’t expect him back immediately but hopefully he does come back at some point. Paul Scholes, a year ago, was coaching my Reserves. Now he’s back playing and everybody attached to United is delighted. He’s such a fantastic player. In the long-term, trying to replace Scholes is very difficult. To replace a great player like him would be hard for anyone. We always hope somebody turns up through the ranks of United, from the Academy. We’ve also signed the young boy Powell. We hope he develops into a top-class centre midfield player because he has very good potential.” (NC)

  217. fergie is the boss says:

goatinaunitedshirt – what position is mauro? becaause if it is midfield, it is obvious the boss wants to start beefing up the numbers to make up for the absence of fletcher anderson and an ageing scholes and giggs. If we sign RVP and maura? how do they all fit in, the buys will be allot of cooks and it could take allot of time to gel this squad, when we add kagwa and powel

  218. DreadedRed says:

Perhaps the retention of Wes Brown would have helped us last season, perhaps not.

Yesterday, Martin O’Neill told the Sunderland Echo: ‘Wes is the worry. It could be a bad one, but we really don’t know at this stage. You are told one thing at half-time and another thing at full-time, so really, it’s too early to tell. We will probably only find out once we are home and it settles down, but hopefully it won’t be too bad because he’s an important player for us.”

‘Brown started each of the first 20 games of the last campaign. A groin strain suffered against Manchester City on New Year’s Day saw him sit out three games, but it was a knee injury sustained in an FA Cup fourth round tie against Middlesbrough on January 29 which effectively ended his season.’

  219. DreadedRed says:

    ex today’s Daily Mail:
‘United have shifted forward plans to float on the New York Stock Exchange and could be listed as early as next week’

  220. eric keane says:

@fitb : moura can play across the field in any attacking position.. he’s two footed, so is kagawa and nani.. so i guess in valencia’s absence fergie would want a line up with kagawa moura nani behind rooney. switching positions at will. it will make us flexible and difficult to play against..

dreadedred- can’t see why they would do that.. its a weird decision. maybe they want to announce signings and then ride the wave into the ipo.

  221. wakey says:

    @DreadedRed
They haven’t shifted anything. When they filed they had 90days to float or withdraw. Its not a case of 90 days from the filing date to float, it was any time in that period.

  222. tom c says:

if this deal comes through i for one will be immensely pleased. without getting the likes of neymar or hazard we would’ve pulled off the “lesser of them” in moura and kagawa, as it is in the press, who’re possibly even more talented and more willing to knuckle down to fight for a place in the team. regardless.. city we’re coming for you.

    we want our title back.

  223. jeet says:

Cedars – pissed myself trying to visualize that, mate!

  224. eric keane says:

    ex football365 – mediawatch. :

    #AskMOwen
As you may have seen, Michael Owen made the mistake of starting a Q&A on Twitter over the weekend, inviting all and sundry to pose questions about his life and career.

At this point, Twitter did what Twitter does best – namely be very childish and often very, very funny.

Here are our favourites from the askMOwen hashtag:

‘Where do you get your tickets from for the match? I see you every week and they’re good seats in the crowd.’

‘I’m expecting a parcel on Thursday, would you be able to sit in for me while I’m out? I have Racing UK & ATR & my sofa’s leather?’

‘What’s your favourite sport: football or shooting peasants?’

‘Should more footballers support the ailing UK print industry by commissioning glossy promotional brochures?’

‘What is the plural of octopus??’

‘Have you been injured in an accident that wasn’t your fault?’

‘If a plane leaves at 8:53am & another at 9:32am both travelling at 532mph, at what point would you realise you’re still a bellend?’

‘Have you ever considered retiring and admitting that you actually hate football? Or taken Ketamine? Or w*nked off a horse?’

  225. WillieRedNut says:

Can’t see Fergie going public on Moura if it wasn’t close to being done. Why would he risk alerting other clubs? He’s always 3 moves ahead of the rest. Love United, Love Fergie!

MG – Hows it flowing! :)

  226. DreadedRed says:

    wakey – thanks for that!

Perhaps the Daily Mail are have altered the facts to make their story plausible.
    Wouldn’t be the first time!

  227. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    eric keane
Thats what my argument against RvP signing was pretty much based on. If we sign RvP it means that Wellbeck and Hernandez both drop down the pecking order and to be fair they dont deserve that. If we sign a striker Im pretty sure its not RvP but rather a youngster and thats only if Berbatov and Mechada are shipped out. Moura would fit in between the two.
I do think we’ll be going for an attacking 5, 3 midfielders and 2 forwards. One of the forwards would be Hernandez or Wellbeck pushed up in the no 10 role. Rooney will be Rooney and try and be the link, the runner and tackler high up the pitch. Then the likes of Nani, Kagawa, Moura and Young takingthe two wider midfield possitions more often than not and Scholes and Cleverly taking the central possition. It would be a more total football experience where all of them can tackle (Nani maybe not) and all of them can pass and all of them can shoot.

  228. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

SAF has finally lost. it …the banana has fallen of the tree !

1st he declares a bid for RVP
    2nd The interest in Moura
3rd Defends the Glazers with a dig at Real fans
    4th Talks up Chelsea
5th Takes consecutive digs at City :P
6th Compares Kagawa to Hazard —– NoNo imo…puts pressure on Shinji
7th Declares interest in Hazard + Naseri and blames agent fees.
8th “we’re not lying on our backsides”….thats exactly what he’s doing.

    So thats Baines,Powell,Kagawa,Moura,RVP in
    ……………Fabio,Owen,Berbatov,Nani out ?

    :P

eric keane – I do feel it would need a change of tactics, with perhaps carrick being the DM, and letting kagwa and maura perhaps playing further forward, with perhaps nani valencia and rooney in a front 3, but where would that lead welbeck and hernandez? esp when the boss said that he wants welbeck to get 20 goals. But if the boss wants the flexibility? then we could see a very exciting united side, but I still feel we need that dictator like a modric who could control the game, unless the boss sees a carrick doing that role. And for me we need to change tactics from a 442, to a 433/4231 formation

  230. Wakey says:

    @Ash
The fact SAF has mentioned this actually makes me think the Mirror reports is correct. When does he ever our transfer targets (apart from RvP but Arsenal forced his hand there)

Until everything is signed and sealed then he isn’t going to say its done as doing so could make the deal fall through but if everything is agreed in principle then I wouldn’t be surprised

  231. Mikekelly12 says:

I see speed play being deployed next season.

  232. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    fergie is the boss
I honestly feel that Fergie is trying to recreate the Barcelona model where players are more flexible if thats even possible with United. Kagawa and Moura seem to be able to fill in on the wing, can tackle, could even be used as an auxillary striker. Rooney can do alot of that too even though hes not that impressed in being put out wide. Wellbeck has shown he can play wide and Young has shown he can play more centrally. United will still be a team full of squad players, not a fixed 11, its just that we have got infinitely better. I still think Anderson will be with us. The players out whether its this year or next year will certainly include Berbatov, Scholes and possibly Giggs. We have plenty of squad places to fill.

  233. eric keane says:

@fitb – yeah. i feel we might be switching to a 4-2-3-1 formation..
re the dictator – i think fergie wants to give tunnicliffe, petrucci and lingard a year before he buys someone. from them i think petrucci would be perfect for the deep lying role.

@goat : that’s right. i think RVP is a smokescreen to keep city busy as we complete other deals in the background .. we play about 55-6- games a year. so i don’t think welbeck will get less games.

if/ when we do sign moura i don’t think nani will be the one affected.. i think young will feel the pinch since kagawa and nani both can play on the left and so can moura.. i can see us lining up in this way for the carling cup ..
    DDG
    rafael rio vida blackett
    tunni petrucci
    moura lingard brady
    welbeck/chicho.

    young flexible exciting team.. :D

  234. Dave Malaysia says:

@Scott the Red : In reference to yr previous article.

You have a great blog. Always well researched and good articles. Its well known now ,not just to United supporters but to media and rival fans. Testament to yr work.

It is yr blog , u can bloddy hell say anything u want and do anything u want.

Ferguson is not immune to criticism. I am still angry with him over his decisions last season that cost us the title.

When I decide to check the site for info before sleeping and see yr article on Fergie. I trust u, so my first thot was what did Fergie do.

Then as I read the article u mentioned, it turns out u lied. U made a false allegation.

Already there are enough cunts coming in here calling Fergie a cunt, demanding he be removed and say rubbish about him. Now u as well.

Have u been enjoying yr summer, maybe too much sun? or is there a city chick giving u a bj when u typed that article?

U have lost some trust here , u did a lazy bullshit article. Then u deflect by harping on the 500 mil.

Now u follow up with ‘ the fans who have never been to Old Trafford and bla bla bla’ are not true fans.

The same age old arguement u english blue bloods like to fall back on. U do realise that majority of posters in here have not had the privliege of going to Old Trafford.
So basically ur just tolerating us on yr blog, we the untrue fans .

    Brilliant.

Ur like the drunk fans that hurl abuse during games, cos they say they paid for the bloddy ticket and its thier fucking right to say and do whatever they want.
And then they explode when thier hurled out of the stadium.

Let me share with u a secret. Its very simple. The quality of fans is determined by thier words and actions.
U criticise Fergie or the club or whatever , even if other fans dont agree with u , they can understand where ur coming from.

But when u say rubbish, lies , then what r u? Still an english blueblood?

  235. WillieRedNut says:

I think we’ll get Moura. Van Persie won’t sign, though. Smoke and bananas! ;)

  236. fergie is the boss says:

goatinaunitedshirt and eric keane – I would like to see a fixed 5 players, and the rest you can rotate, like GK CB 2 CM players, and CF, and the rest you can rotate. For me the spine of the team must be set, I like rotation, but for me fergie must identify a spine, so the squad can really take off. My spine would be? DDG, vidic, carrick, kagwa, rooney. If kagwa settles, he would be one of my 5 players I would build that spine around, the rest can be rotated

  237. Mikekelly12 says:

We’ll sign Dembele and that’s it.

  238. jeet says:

I’ll light my chillum to that … Bum bhole!

  239. MarkoWire says:

The lad looks shit hot!!! Kagawa, RVP, Rooney, Moura not the mention the rest of the team.

Get RVP and Moura snapped up ASAP Fergie!!

  240. eric keane says:

    @ jeet : personally prefer bhang !!

  241. Zibbie says:

    Cedars and all good day.
Tree I know that SAF guy how does he keep his job is beyond me.
Don’t get me started on those Glazzer fucks if they new what they were doing, not 37 trophies for SAF but maybe 38 if he spent like Shity or imo less to much in fighting!!!!

Must read some 100 more post, I liked the Google translation from his agent sounds like Lucas wanted only MUFC and now down to personal terms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  242. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

I’d rather we sign Baines and Dickson Etuhu than watch us strengthen in silly areas and sign Moura / Van Persie !

Seriously we add Baines and Etuhu and we’ll have at least strength in numbers even if the quality will be a bit low. But to sign or be interested in a 19 year old Theo Walcott of Brazil is really silly when we have Nani,Tony,Young + Kags.

SAF maybe the best manager of all time but if we don’t sign a central midfielder, we need the ghosts of christmas past present and future to pay the old scrooge a visit

Why sign Theo Walcott lookalike and King of All strikers RVP….when last year we was demolished by Bilbao in the middle of the pitch, scared shitless of City at Etihad and threw away a 8 point lead ….and got raped by Marouane Fellaini ?

  243. jeet says:

    @papii: 42

  247. jay says:

there’s already fucking Carrick Scholes Anderson cleverly giggs Powell plus petruci tunicliffe lingard how many more cm’s do u want. At the moment we have 3 wingers 5 if u include Cole and brady

  248. Zibbie says:

Jeet our Cedars has his man crush, leave him be. RVP does have to unbutton his shirt to let Tree eat. That gives U an idea just how far up there it is.
My dad in WWII was a drill Sargent for a bit. Out of no fucking where would come these Drill Sargent insults. They were great. One day he was pissed at me, and bam” #3 your head is so far up your ass , your walking on your elbows!!” So funny I laughed and BAM the knuckles up side my head, I got the work done right.

  249. Zibbie says:

    Eric Keane had this,,

    eric keane says:
@EPL_ES, a twitter account with 31k followers just tweeted:

    Lucas Agent:

    which google translates to

‘Now we are awaiting a meeting with the Utd to define the contract of Lucas and reach an agreement.’

‘ will seek to agree on the salary and that Lucas has tab of the first team since we do not want this in the reserves.’

‘ We had offers from other teams as Madrid, Chelsea etc but only Lucas wanted to go to Manchester United.’

How drunk was you when wrote that post?

  252. samuel - united WE stand says:

If nani is supposed to be threatened by the potential arrival of moura (bullshit) then someone like ashley young is finished and has no chance. Nani is NOT going anywhere. Moura is adaptable and can play as an attacking midfielder, he won’t threatened anyone but even if he does, then all wingers (nani, valencia, young) will all have to fight for their place.

People assume because valencia has been given number 7, then he’s a guaranteed starter.

  253. Mikekelly12 says:

All gone very quiet on the Leigton Baines front?

  254. wayne says:

Sir Alex confrimed the bid but denied a deal has been made,he also said the club isn’t lying on their backsides and working hard to bring other players in,wonder if he’s sensing weakness with the other big clubs

  255. Costas says:

    GGMU!

  256. Zibbie says:

  257. Costas says:

Hu mate. Rumor has it that Everton asked for 20mil. And we run away faster than Usain Bolt. :)

  258. slim says:

Signing moura can’t possibly be silly. We’ve got young ffs. Not much there. Squad player nowt special.
Said it a million times and I’ll say it again. You don’t Fuck with talent. If the boys got it then by all means go for it.
I will say this though. Fergie can’t afford to piss about give the young uns a proper run in midfield. If we don’t get the best out of them this season, they’ll be raring to go next year. But the gaffers got to take the plunge. Love my scholes to bits but he shouldnt be considered a starter lest there’s fitness or injury issues.

  259. Zibbie says:

    @GGMU Hello. :mrgreen:

  260. WillieRedNut says:

Mike -They want silly monex for Baines.

  261. samuel - united WE stand says:

Clint – walcott is a good player but no way is he similar to moura. The brazilian is far more skillful, he’s stronger, he’s unpredictable. I think when an opportunity to sign a quality player arises then the club should grab it regardless of it’s a priority or not. You can’t ever have enough classy players.

I don’t think FERGIE is in for baines to be honest. It just seems the media and baines pushing for the deal. I honestly don’t think he’ll be better than evra. A left back that can surpass evra is what is needed. I see potential in that position already at the club, time will tell if they step up. As for dickson etuhu, i’m sure you’re dropping your famed comedy lines there, don’t tell me you actually want him at united? ha!.

Giggs12 – thanks for telling me the time for the game mate.

  262. Zibbie says:

This summer transfer window, I want whom ever SAF gets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  263. samuel - united WE stand says:

Mikekelly – never understood what people see in leighton baines. The typical reason that is given to sign him is “united haven’t had a set piece expert for a while now”. Why don’t united go out and get former lyon player juninho to play left back then. Baines has never convinced, he’s a steady eddy. Won’t improve united and certainly not worth 15million.

  264. wayne says:

To be fair to Baines haven’t seen him push for the deal publicly actually only read one statement early on before the Euros, nothing since

  265. parryheid says:

I would sell Anderson pronto,we would get a reasonable amount for him. That + his wages would go a long way to paying a chunk of the cost for Martinez with the bonus of a player who actually plays on a weekly basis.Win Win imo

  266. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Dickson Etuhu and Kelvin Etuhu can be the new neville brothers for United

  267. Zibbie says:

With only 7 1st team defenders, imo SAF will get some cover at LB if it is LB good, if not someone.

  268. FletchTHEMAN says:

Ferguson: “We haven’t reached an agreement for ‘Lucas Moura’.”

    But he does confirm interest.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18953819

  269. parryheid says:

Or substitute the name Martinez for any quality midfielder that is your choice.

  270. WillieRedNut says:

FletchDaMan – Seriously? :P Bit late to the party….

  271. kungfoocantona says:

well for starters fergie said its utter shite that a deal is agreed although i think it could be close…the manager coming out and confirming his interest for 2 players!!!!!strange, not fergie like UNLESS the deals are close to being agreed..he did say himself that he wouldn’t comment unless he thought the deal was pretty much rapped up..

on other signings….DEMBELLE is a good player but if we sign moura then this deal isn’t gone happen and as much as i like the guy it wouldn’t make sense if we signed him and that pretty much goes for any other central midfielder and heres why….we just signed kagawa who plays behind the 2 strikers meaning a central midfield role is sacrificed with if need be rooney or kagawa dropping deep…also ando is back and wether u think it or not the boy has huge talent he’s just a little inconsistent aswell as injury prone…we have carrick, scholes, giggs, cleverly and also i think petrucci will push the season too…plus the manager said powell will be a central midfielder and not to forget fletch(get well soon son)to come back oh and obviously moura…..so were the fuck would all these players go!!in my opinion if we get RVP and moura then i think it would have been a fantastic summer for the club and i don’t think even the shallow united fans could complain about our transfer business

  272. Mikekelly12 says:

    Samuel/Willie
I’ve always liked Baines and think he’d do well at United, however if that’s the price they were asking I’m not surprised we cooled our interest.

  273. 911_DEVIL says:

    Great link willie
It took us right back to the roots
Amazing to note kagawa doesn’t require a translator to learn the strides and methods of training
We got ourselves a gym there
    Even better than hazard

If fergie smockscreen worked on the letter
Then it has all possibilities to work on van persie for lucas moura.

  274. wayne says:

Baines is one of the best backs in the league,in all due respect to Evra his form over the last couple of seasons hasn’t been the greatest ,with shipping Fabio out don’t really want to see a centre half playing out of position if something did happen to him.If the price is right Baines would be a good signing if not so be it but Utd need cover in that area

  275. Zibbie says:

Wayne I am watching a good movie, Know Your Mushroom. Have you seen It? In the next 2 years I want to move to the Central Oregon coast.

  276. FletchTHEMAN says:

Lucas is a twitter junkie as well. @LucasnaRede_ But there are several fail accounts with close spellings.

The lad posts loads of notes to his fans. All in portuguess until a couple of days ago when he started to add a couple of english notes along the lines of good morning and good night. Nothing in it as he is in England with Brazil for the Olympics.
He seems to love fans, and even added follows to a couple of United fans. All fit blondes as far as I can tell. He posted the word Manchester the minute he landed in Manchester for Brazils training sessions then immediately took it down. He then posted Middlesbrough the day the team played England in said city.

I agree, he has posted nothing about United that I can tell.

  277. samuel - united WE stand says:

Willing to give anderson yet another chance. His lack of professionalism and injuries have blighted his career. He seems fired up and ready to put in the shift needed at united. He has shown glimpses of quality but not consistent at times. Hope he avoids any injury because the realisation of knowing his position in the squad is under threat by up and coming quality, he’ll have to step up.

  278. joseph19 says:

i think if we sign rvp and moura, the formation will look like this.
    4.1.3.2
    …………….ddg……………
    Rafael…vidic…rio..evra
    ……….Carrick……….
    Nani…kagawa…..moura
    …..rooney…..rvp……
    With this lineup..

  279. wayne says:

Zibbie no mate i haven’t you going to get into the psychedelic entertainment business

  280. denton davey says:

Certainly, there appears to be a massive ramping-up of the attacking options – TheWayneBoy, DannyTheLad, Chicharito, KagawaBunga, Nani, AV7, Ashley Young and, maybe, RvP as well as Lucas Moura – which seems to be ten guys for four (or maybe five) spots.

Does ten-into-five work ? Not in a 4-4-2; probably not in some version of a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3/4-5-1. This brings me back to my “conspiracy theory” about a 3-5-2, which would accommodate six or seven attackers and three central defenders. I was very impressed with this formation when the Italians used it to stifle Spain in the first round of matches at EuroFootie and couldn’t understand why they abandoned it for the final, although they were pretty banged-up by that time. In any event, considering this kind of new formation – along with SAF’s comments about the crucial role of Michael Carrick – makes me think that the wily OldFootieKnight wants to go out with a bang, not a whimper.

  281. FletchTHEMAN says:

Just catching up with my morning reads lads as I am still in LA. Be in Switerland for a year starting in August. Any Reds in Geneva/Lausanne area.

Loads of Twitter garbage about Lucas deal being confirmed by the BBC. Does anyone ever check before they repost garbage? I do dispare.

I have found a couple of San Paulo fan sites that seem to be tracking the story pretty accurately. None of them agree with the Mirror story and most are mystified how the price “dropped” to £26m.

  284. samuel - united WE stand says:

I must be watching a different baines all these years. Seen him at wigan, seen him at everton. Always exposed by quality attacking players, he scores goals to disguise all his defensive deficiencies like many defenders in the premier league. Evra may be winding down (he’s human after all) but in his pomp, He was twice the player baines is and will ever be. Another over-hyped english player touted around for a ridiculous fee. FERGIE knows his thing and if he doesn’t bow to the pressure of signing baines then i’d completely agree with him.

  285. wayne says:

denton how’s that Berba + cash for Modric already done deal that should have happened already conspiracy theory panning out mate

  286. one two says:

    @rom
This is the first time i have seen ROM totally doubting SAF or his decisions..at a point me too.But when i thought deeper, i understood that its going to be the final 3 or 4 years of SAF and rooney is entering his prime. So the point here is totally simple..just think
1)SAF wants to create a world class team or even the best
2)As he promised rooney , his ambitions are getting fullfilled
So here the answer is clear. We are on mission to create the best team and by getting Moura, you can clearly see an 19 yr old rooney with samba beat.So by the time rooney gets to his 30′s moura will take the rooney role.I am being so optimistic as i trust SAF so much than myself.
Note: Giving TV number 7 does not mean he is a sure starter.
If we sign Moura the team will be super-fluidic that the opposition manager cannot even get the glimpse of positional play.I will be a red wave of attack after attack.
So Guys , wait for it. We are gonna see a whole new team which will surely surpass a tiki-fucking-taka cunts aka barca. My starting eleven:

  287. FletchTHEMAN says:

PS Should note to all you lads late to the doubters party that our own Willie has been proper sceptical from the off as well @22:56

  289. RED RANGER says:

I wonder why aren’t we in the market for Javi Martinez, truly gifted and great long term replacement for Scholes, can play in the central defence as well! I’d like SAF to sign him instead of Lucas this season.

Fergie sign him up and include a 500 mil release clause in his contract.
This kid is red hot dynamite.

  294. one two says:

    @RED RANGER
    bcoz..
1)he is spanish so he is set to either barca/real
2)spanish team players command higher fees
3)We already have clev and tunni..so they will replace carrick
About Lucas..this is the best chance since real/barca/chelsea/city dont have room to get him a starting spot and he is next to neymar..so thats perfect

  295. eric keane says:

@ denton : the idea of the 3-5-2 is re-inforced by fergie’s comments about brady being evra’s back up this season.. We could line up this way in a 3-5-2
    DDG
    Evans rio vidic
    Tonyv carrick clev brady/evra
    Kagawa moura
    Rooney!!

  296. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

Yeah!! thats what i am saying..if we can accept neymar is just awsome.. then lucas is red-hot..get him to old trafford

  299. Costas says:

Sir Alex on Darren Fletcher: “Darren has a medical situation that he’s trying hard to keep under control. We don’t expect him back immediately but hopefully he does come back at some point. Paul Scholes, a year ago, was coaching my Reserves. Now he’s back playing and everybody attached to United is delighted. He’s such a fantastic player. In the long-term, trying to replace Scholes is very difficult. To replace a great player like him would be hard for anyone. We always hope somebody turns up through the ranks of United, from the Academy. We’ve also signed the young boy Powell. We hope he develops into a top-class centre midfield player because he has very good potential.”

Not breaking news exactly, but based on those comments, it doesn’t look like a CM will be signed.

  300. samuel - united WE stand says:

Denton – i’m not sure FERGIE would want to abandon his four defenders. I agree that the 3-5-2 formation was impressively used by italy. People claim it’s defensive but if used well, it can be fluid and unpredictable. Whether FERGIE would use it then i’m not sure but the players that are being potentially acquired by the club and the ones already in the club points to the fact that we’ll see a lot more flexible play from united next season.

Abundance of creative talents, how to fit them in will be the puzzle FERGIE has to solve. That’d be a positive because you require a lot of options these days.

I definitely think united will be playing the 4-2-3-1 formation more than the basic 4-4-2. FERGIE is a manager that despite all his success is willing to learn. He knows domination of the engine room is crucial, especially in europe. He’ll implicate tactics that make the team unpredictable.

  301. Robbo says:

    Fletch

I think the reason for the ‘drop’ in value to 26m pounds is some sites are using euros and some pounds. 32m – 34m euros is the ‘agreed’ price which is close to the 26m pounds.

Sorry for the euro and pound words but my keyboard only has $.

  302. kungfoocantona says:

actually mate ref martinez i disagree with ya and heres why

the player stated himself that actually he has no desire to play for barcelona for starters. secondly he is bilbao through and through(and a genuine good guy)he doesn’t play for money he plays for the club he loves…the player also stated himself that he has no intention nor now or the future to ever leave the club…that my friend is exactly the way footballers should behave

and also does that mean because de gea is spanish he will go to barca in a few years!!!

  303. eric keane says:

Wayne @ 15:07: “how’s that Berba + cash for Modric already done deal that should have happened already conspiracy theory panning out mate”

    It’s still a possibility – amazingly.

    RM are holding firm to their valuation of Modric, which is about ten million lower than Spurs’;

    Adebayor is holding firm to his salary demands and, apparently, would rather sit in the stands at Wastelands than be a #1 choice at WhiteHartLane;

Dimmy has said he’s ready to leave OT; and,

SAF again – yesterday in praising Scholes – went out of his way to single out YaYa AND Modric for special mention.

Are these stars aligning ? Probably not – but never-say-never.

Like I wrote earlier, the incredible attacking talent that is being assembled by SAF would seem to suggest that some radical things are in the works – or, maybe not. We’ll see and, in the meanwhile, enjoy the ride and don’t let reality bite.

BC chronic is famous, Canada is way ahead of the US in many things, like the human right of a citizen of the country to have medical care, why use Police resources on weed? Not a criminal problem, a health issue at best. Weed is what works on my chronic pain. 65 yr old retired guys at the coffee houses looking to help out there arthritis. wow wakey shit. The NSA black opps make to much of their money from narcotics and a huge privetation of prison, lead’s to lobbyist wanting harsher drug laws, vicious cycle.
Smoke and Mirrors mate. Making a guy smoking weed into a 3 time looser, at 65K a year to keep them in jail. What a racket. America screams about human rights, yet we have a largest % of us in jail on parole, or probation the any country in the world.

  306. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

    With regards to the 3-5-2,
It seems that SAF is pretty well set on the 4-4-1-1, 4-3-2-1, whatever you want to call it.

With two full teams of top players at his disposal.

    In no particular order:

    DDG
    Rafael-Evans-Vidic-Evra
    Valencia-Carrick-Scholes-Nani
    Rooney
    Hernandez

    DDG
    Jones-Rio-Smalling-Brady
    Lucas-Anderson-Clevs-Young
    Kagawa
    Welbeck

Essentially 2 first-team players competing for every 1 starting spot.

  307. Zibbie says:

Owen wore the #7 and he was a bench player, SAF lets the lads decide by their play who plays more and where.

  308. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

    @Zibbie:
Top notch post about weed in America. Its something like 66% of all the convicts rotting away in California prisons are there on weed charges.

  309. denton davey says:

Samuel @ 15:20: “Whether FERGIE would use it [3-5-2] then i’m not sure but the players that are being potentially acquired by the club and the ones already in the club points to the fact that we’ll see a lot more flexible play from united next season.”

I’m getting the sense of that old Buffalo Springfield song which went roughly (very roughly) like this:

    Somethings happening here,
what it is aint’ exactly clear.

You gotta stop, listen, what’s that sound,
    Everybody look, what’s going on”

The concentration of attacking talent that SAF has already stockpiled is awesome; add RvP and Lucas Moura and then it’s truly astonishing. I just don’t see how he could possibly so many talented players in a straitjacket like the 4-4-2.

AND, I agree with the general point that these guys are suited to a fluid style of play. So, “what’s going on ?”

  310. Zibbie says:

Pint yep, competition at all spots, makes for a better team.
SAF has few players get over 30 games a year. I wonder some times do people who post here watch the games. SAF has rotated his team since I have been watching going on 10 years now.

I have been wondering for some time now with the 3-5-2

At 13 I hear my dad and his mentor John Blatnik talk about what they help create in WWII turned into the NSA started a war on drugs so they would have all the $ they needed to bypass the Congress
. He laughed when I said Mr. Blatnic the Washington post said you are the 4th most powerful man in Washington DC and he laughed. Was nice about it, and explained why to me.

    Robbo Cheers son.

As I posted on July 18

Current bid is reported at 38MEuros =£29M.
The next bid might be in the range of 41M Euros which would be £32M.

You are absolutely correct that there is alot of nonsense related to incorrect calculations about the currency. But this article is in a British Rag who will not have made that mistake.

PS. THERE IS A NEW THREAD UP ON ……. Lucas Moura……. who is still not our player?!

Dave Malaysia – I think you have a chip on your shoulder and that embarrassing little rant does you no favours. Maybe being a glory supporter doesn’t sit well with you so you feel the need to harp on with all that nonsense? Who knows?

I didn’t lie. Ferguson’s made a differentiation between “real fans” and therefore implied those that aren’t “real fans” on the basis of their feelings towards Glazers. Just like when he said “Fuck off and support Chelsea then” to fans who talked to him about the season ticket price rises under the Glazers.

Now go and have a lie down or something. Save your bitter little essays for something more worthwhile eh.
