Enjoyable game to watch. Our young lads did very well. Some great pass and move one touch football went on against not a bad Newcastle side. Well done United!

  2. Urmston red Hamiltino says:

Well done fellas. Good win that tonight.

  3. belfast red. says:

Yeah im well happy with that. The quick one touch passing was a treat to see. And we counterd well. Fletch read the game superbly. Glad wazzas back for the spurs game.. now bring on the leeds scum nxt round in cup! Hahaha.

  4. Mikael says:

Good defending for such a young back 4, like the looks of both Wootton and Keane. Give them a couple of years and som patience and we’ll hopefully see them bloom. But for now I want Vida back!

  5. Costas says:

2 goals from outside the box from midfielders, none of whom were Scholes. :D

  6. Robin van Gora says:

At least wayne is back. Thats exactly what he can do. Was superb all night, as was ando and fletch. Chicha is looking sharp again. The one disappointment for me danny welbz. Good when we have the ball but he is not really a goal threat unlike chicha. Look at his movement for clevz goal. Buttner is playing a lot better than evra at the moment.

  7. Wee Toms Ligaments says:

Cleverly played well. Fletcherinho was excellent. Would still like to see De Gea own the six yard box. All in all, a win. Next round.

  8. KVN says:

Excellent play and a joy to watch. Fletcher, Powell, Anderson (this slim and hungry version) and TC. Plus the other youngsters like Keane, Cole , and Lingaard. What happened to Petrucci?

  9. markyboy says:

Nice to hear alan “bitter” smith having a last min pop at de gea…he just cant help himself.

  10. belfast red. says:

We play the rent boys nxt round! Halloween to. Ooo Spooky lol.

  11. Marq says:

DDG’s kick up field was not just some aimless punt, it always found its man

  12. Proverb says:

    True? We play shavs?
We’ll have to field a strong back line then

  13. FletchTHEMAN says:

Great win. Super goals. Great play from the youngsters.

Hope we continue to play them. After all, Vermijl, Wooton, M Keane, Tunni & Brady never lost playing at Sr level. Long may it continue. ;)

United draw Chavs away 4th round. Bring it on!

  14. belfast red. says:

We play chelski away in the league 2days before that game to. We mite aswel stay down there. Hire a wee villa and have a party. Yeeha!

  15. Proverb says:

    Fourth round Draw:

    Sunderland v Middlesbrough

    Swindon v Aston Villa

    Wigan v Bradford

    Leeds v Southampton

    Norwich v Tottenham

    Liverpool v Swansea

    Chelsea v Manchester United

    Reading v Arsenal

  16. philco says:

All round good solid performance. At least Michael Carrick shouldn’t have to play cb again.
Great to see fletch back and well done to clevs, taking on the shot after that miss.

  17. Proverb says:

Brendan Rodgers hosting his former club as Liverpool face Swansea
I fuvking hope the dippers get thrashed this time around, I was hoping they lost today

  18. FletchTHEMAN says:

Sure hope we get a crack at Leeds. Love beating them. Scum of the earth the lot. Long long may they stay down. They do give us a game though.

  19. Proverb says:

Chelsea (A), Chelsea (A) and Arsenal (H) all within a week.

    Fuck injuries

  20. FletchTHEMAN says:

Must say, Rooney played a fine game. Fletcher was a far cry from former self, but did get stuck in a couple of times in just the way we have been lacking. Very very good to see from both.

Minute I saw the team sheet I thought we would win. Must say that Alan Pardeu must be kicking himself that he didn’t put Cisse on earlier. That lad is a handful.

  21. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Red dreams all, I’m off!

  22. parryheid says:

Some good stuff played tonight very pleasing + two belting goals.

  23. samuel - united WE stand says:

I thought welbeck was top class tonight. Rooney is a great player and his influence was evident today, looking sharp and fit agai.

Glad to fletcher back, the 90mins would have done him good. Acquitted himself well, guided the younger players through a difficult game, he’ll bolster our midfield and bring a whole different dimension to it. Hope to keep hearing good things about him.

Anderson bossed that game. pinging passes about, linking up play and driving forward with his physical power and then added ai fantastic strike. Those are the qualitiies fergie knows he can produce, needs to show that for a longer period, hopefully he does that. Cleverley played well, quick short passes and move as usual, his finishing still needs work but he showed with that goal that he can bag goals, something he needed to add to his game.

The younger players played well against a difficult opponent, ameobi is a physical threat but wooton and will keane were solid, vermijl was nervous at first but bombed up and down and played well.

Nice to see tunni and powell and brady get opportunities, shame lingard failed to come on but he’ll hopefully get his chance next time. I also thought buttner looked good, it was a tough test for him against a top team, hope that knock is nothing huge, he certainly is here to take evra’s place.

All in all, a good work out but we’ve got chelsea next and that’s going to be extremely difficult to get anything from but i’m sure fergie will stick with youth, hoping to have more players like smalling back but tonight shows the work on youth the club is embarking on, this is what manchester united is all about!!!

  24. Proverb says:

Another plastic club. Chelsea were terribly average before investment…just like Man City. Plasticz, Artificial, FAKE, Scum, Money Grabbers!!!

  25. samuel - united WE stand says:

    Michael keane I mean.. Typo

  26. Proverb says:

SAF: “Anderson’s was a great strike. The second is a great bit of football. A really good performance.”

  27. samuel - united WE stand says:

Marky – mate, it’s the entire ABU community always after united players, their bitterness truly comes to the fore.

  28. Bishopville Red says:

Tom Cleverly scored? Two words: About fucking time!

    Well done, son.

  29. Proverb says:

Chelsea vs us on 28th Oct in the league then Chelsea midweek in the cup and then us vs Arsenal on the Saturday. Crazy isn’t the word”

  30. Proverb says:

Wazza: “It’s been just over four weeks since I last played and I’m delighted to be back out on the pitch playing, and it was a good run-out for me and hopefully there’s a lot more games to come. I feel good, obviously it’s always difficult in your first game back after a few weeks but it’s great to get the minutes under my belt and hopefully that can benefit me.”

  31. Stenis says:

Pleased for all of our young lads. Great to see Ando and Cleverley do well and score after some time out of the team. Would love to see the pair of them get some more game time together. But apart from the defence there’s stiff competition for all places.

  32. tom c says:

    Anderson’s always hungry.. ;)

  33. tom c says:

    fucking isn’t a word, I swear!

  34. denton davey says:

The ball was played around by the midfielders much faster without Scholes/Carrick. I especially liked what I saw from Anderson – the key for SAF is figuring out how to get the guy to play like that consistently. No wingers – so width supplied by the fullbacks, who were better going forward than defending.

The young back four looked – errrm – young and not especially convincing. Vermijl was beaten easily for the cross that led to their goal and the guy marking Cisse was, likewise, easily beaten.

Rooney played in that kind of KagawaBunga role – floating between the three midfielders and the two forwards. DarrenFletcherinho seemed to have the CarrickRole but played more “robustly”, proactively breaking up attacks rather than waiting to fend them off. Indeed, the big news was the full 90 minutes by DarrenFletcherinho even if he was playing at about 80% of “football genius” mode.

The one downer on the night was Chicharito’s finishing – he could have had four if his mojo was working.

  35. sam says:

Think Ando and Clev have staked their claim in Uniteds starting line up for Saturday. Was impressed with Ando especially, I just hope he can continue. His passing was good, vision was good and produced a top finish. He’ll be lacking match fitness so theres more to come I presume, consistency and injury free is the name of the game from here. There was a very nice balance to Uniteds midfield trio though, definitely a strong option for Uniteds first team even.

  36. Adam says:

Great to see some shots from outside the box! FINALLY! some excellent link up and one touch.. great to watch.

  37. Adam says:

no kiddin’ I’d change very little for this weekend..

  38. Adam says:

    Bishopville Red says:
Tom Cleverly scored? Two words: About fucking time!

when he missed that first chance, I really thought the guy is cursed..

  39. Ha says:

Thomas William Cleverley…. Red through and through

  40. tom c says:

I miss this place bouncing off a win of any sort.. UNITED UNITED UNITED

  41. Marq says:

Its a big comparison, but Fletcher was playing like Keane, demanding the ball and bringing it out of defence with forward movement rather than the measured passing of Carrick

  42. sc says:

we did well in midfield also partly cos we almost have 5 men playing in the centre, without wingers, and with welbeck and rooney taking turns to drop in. i think rooney played a attacking midfield role, playing deeper than usual.

i thought rooney did really really well. we lose that bit of edge after he was substituted.

  43. Unitedforeva says:

Great win & very pleased with Clev and Ando’s goals and high time too. Hope RVP and the rest of the 1st teamers rested well. Bring on Spurs! I love United!

  44. kk says:

For me I think Clev should add the defensive side to his play. He should stick closer to the person he is marking. I thought the center backs were exposed with Cisse but credit to them that they saw the game out. Is it just me or are the forwards getting too selfish? More so Danny, is it the competition for places?

  45. redbilly says:

Reiterating what others have said. I enjoyed the performance more than any other in some time. Lads where fast and fluid, made a huge difference having Fletch on and a leaner Rooney and Ando. The young lads, what a performance . so, pleased for Tom though he should be celebrating two today :-) . Cisse , what a player that lad is . Superb match .

  46. Nesh says:

Anderson and cleverly seem to have a telepathy of some kind…they seem very comfortable with each other. hoping fergie can give Ando some game time

  47. StatesideAussie says:

I didn’t get chance to watch the match (can’t get the channel it’s on) but, when I read that Ando and TC were playing together, then I am no longer surprised to hear that they both played well (especially Anderson). We need to keep those together and play them more often.
