great finish for the 2nd, well done berba for breaking the record, can only be good for his confidence, roll on saturday!
And I was there to witness his record breaking!! I’m from Malta and took the advantage of having a United star in our little country and went to see the match. Wasn’t disappointed.
Whenever I see him play for Bulgaria he looks like an absolute star, he’s starting to become an important part of the United 1st team I hope, in time, he becomes as important to United as he is to Bulgaria!
congrats, berbagod.
He scores goals for fun when playing for Bulgaria. His goal scoring record was good in his previous clubs too. Wonder what happens to that when he plays for United
well done berba
well done, berbatov! can’t ever remember him dribbling that far down the pitch and into the box for a united goal.
@androo- where is malta located exactly? (not trying to be sarcastic, mate!)
in the Mediterranean sea near Italy…many united fans here in Malta. we even have the oldest foreign man utd supporters club in the world
Berba padding his stats against the minnows – I like it haha.
Think he should stick to heading down to players in the future as well – cause he clearly is a below avg to avg header of the ball when it comes to goalscoring
Well done Berbatov.
berbatov is really starting to show the man utd fans why sir alex spend so much money on him he is brilliant
At Tottenham he was the main man and did fantastic. He is also the main man for Bulgaria and is doing extremely well. I think the reason for his slow start for us is that he needs adjustment being a piece of a team that has great players in almost every position. He’s been good for us this season and I think he’ll only improve with time. Sometimes I want him to be a little more selfish in front of goal. I can’t wait to see him against Everton this weekend, he’ll come home to Old Trafford with bags of confidence from the international break!
Actually, the year before United bought Berbatov I got myself a Bulgaria shirt with his name on it since I was hoping we’d go for him. I got my wish fulfilled in the end…great talent, pure class
berbz is pure class, just has a little trouble with consistency.but i love him anyway, great talent.
No offense to Malta, but my high school has a bigger ground than that. Seriously. It looked like they were playing on one of those playgrounds in Nike commercials…
Comedy ground (amazing that goals in a car park kick-around count towards international records) almost as shit as Vicarage Road.
It’s a Shame he’s not going to be in South Africa next year. Well done berba.
Berba is magic!
loving the United posts!! Keep the crack coming Scott!!
Congratulations on breaking the record Dimitar…..luckily he didn’t get injured in this useless international match….pity he broke the record against my country….now come on dimitar more goals in the only red shirt that counts the glorious red shirt the MANCHESTER UNITED one
@Rooninho: Right underneath Scicily. We’re in the EU too! =)
@BD: That’s not our National Stadium, which is bigger, but I know what you mean. We’re a very small country (1/2 million population) with very limited resources.
It has been questioned why berbatov does not score freely for United..
My View is
Last Season – Bad Formation for him, Played out of Position & tactics all geared up for giving chances to ronaldo! Also it must be frustrating for a striker to play with ronaldo, granted Ronaldo is world class and can bag goals, but if he learnt to pass a bit more then the team would score even more goals! How many runs would you personaly make of 50 yards to watch ronaldo blast high and wide when you are open!
This season – He is getting into his stride in a good formation / The supply hasnt been great. When Yorke and Cole where Knocking them in week in week out we had Giggs on top form on the left and beckham on the right. Put them two together and there is no better supply anywhere else in the world!…. Berbatov has Nani who 9 out of 10 crosses are crap & Valencia who is finding his feet and not yet on the same wavelength of his team mates.
Star Struck! – I do honestly believe that Berbatov was a little star struck when he came to united!… Maybe tried too hard, Maybe didnt know where he fitted in . Possibly struggling to live up to the Cantona Tag & the 30Mil spent!…
Who knows! Its all oppion!
@ Trevor, very perceptive analysis. If Berba plays with Owen he looks better than with Roon
