@goat…I hope “philipeno” means something else and NOT Filipino (as someone in from the Phi;ippines), otherwise I find that remark very offensive.

Im happy for you that you saw your wife as beautifull when she was carying your child and i hope you and your family are very happy. Of course things my end have calmed down a bit and returned somewhat to normal. I don’t, for instance, see a weapon in every everyday item thats lying around when she was about. I mean its not nice trying to teach your young one the values of life and how to be a good man whilst daydreaming of your wife standing there at the sink, ankles tied together, a tin of lobster bisque sticking out of her whilst beating her over the arms and legs with a rusty axe. You’ll be glad to now Im taking councelling, Im having a glass now, cheers.

Yes i ment filipino, sorry my spelling has never been the best. Too busy wanking in class instead of listening to the teacher. Don’t get me wrong about the filipino thing, i don’t see filipinos as sex objects, i see eeryone as sex objects so no rascism there. I said filipino because i fancy a filipino right now, a bit like youd say vodka, if you fancied vodka at the time. Its a name and not a derogatory label.
By any chance are you filipino??

Why are folk comparing this to the Becks and Ruud saga’s ? We have absolutely NO IDEA what has gone on and till we do I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Selling him at this stage is a definite NO for me.

Fascinating reading all these disparate opinions.

However, I think that something has been lost in the sound and fury – which TheBard told us “signify nothing” – and that is the possibility that it is WayneRooney himself who is lobbying for a move out of OldTrafford and Blighty so that he can stop being pestered, pestered, pestered.

Of course, he is the one who made the pact with the commercial devil and he is the one who has sold his wedding pictures and he is the one whose wife has piggy-backed a career onto his amazing media importance. But now, when things have turned sour, he doesn’t seem to like it. So, maybe he just wants to cut-and-run.

I don’t know if this is the case but if it is then I am firmly of the opinion that no one player is bigger than the club whose shirt he wears. Bigger players – and much much better players than WayneRooney – have left UTD and most have regretted their decision. Georgie Best – who was the very best footballer I ever saw – self-destructed and no matter how much fatherly advice he got from Sir Matt Busby, he couldn’t stop himself. Perhaps, WayneRooney is on that path – but, again, who knows ?

What I do know is that if his heart and soul aren’t into committing to UTD then his time has come – and gone. It would be a shame if this scenario plays out that way but such is life. One of SAF’s greatest strengths has been his willingness to draw a line and let the players know that if they cross that line then they can expect the cold shoulder. RVN – who was a much superior center forward in his heyday to WayneRooney at his best – found that out. Jaap Stam found that out. BigTimeCharlie found that out, too.

It’s almost as if SAF has a motto for his man-management: “Ye though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I fear no evil because I am the meanest sun-of-a-bitch in that valley” !

So, if it comes to a showdown between man and manager then there’s no question who would win that contest, every time. Plus, WayneRooney has reneged on re-signing an improved contract AND his club-form has been terrible, after a dismal showing in the World Cup and a scandal-drama that he has brought on himself. NOT exactly great negotiating tactics unless he’s trying to create a wedge-issue to make the unthinkable happen.

I agree that selling Rooney at this time is stupid, We have to get behind him

    However

    A) He has to sort his shit out, Performances on the Pitch are the main thing that Count
    B) Private Lifes are private but at the same time you are representing Manchester United, If your Private Life effects your efforts on the pitch then you are not doing what you are being paid to do!
B-1) Although private lifes are Private, Fergie expects all players to handle their Private life like professionals. He does not want the club to come into disrepute. in 1986 when Fergie took over he quickly stamped out the drinking Culture. Thereafter Lee Sharp failed to toe the line and was moved on. Beckham failed to convince Fergie his private life wasn’t effecting his football and he was moved on. Although we may only care about the On the field matters the way our players conduct their lives off the pitch come into account!
    C) His contract runs out next year, If he doesn’t sign a new one now he will go on a Free! We cant let that happen!
    D) If Rooney fails to sign a new contract and indications are that he wont, His Performances for the club are very below par. £75 Million would be a god send!
    E) If colleen doesn’t take Rooney back then i hope he doesn’t go off the rails – Clubbing and further scandal!

Its all if;s at the moment, I think he needs a wake up call. Fergie is the only man on the planet to handle a player like this! However history shows Fergie does not handle fools!

Personaly i am not saying sell Rooney – I am saying it might make sense depending on what happens from now til the end of the season.

  14. willierednut says:

King Eric – Yeah, thank fuck some of those fans aren’t managing United!

  15. RedLife says:

My role models were my parents, not the Rooney of their day. When i see someone with a kid and they say that Rooney has let them down because he is their kids role model, i see a bad parent.

Fergie over Rooney anyday. With his touch turning to shite, he’s a yard slower than yester year. I personally would take any good offer that arrives. If his attitude is bad, then his form will only get worse. It’s time he was dropped from England and United. His form has been poor and deserves it. The signs were there last year, because he scored goals it covered it up. Let’s not forget the part Valencia played in supplying his goals last season. Take the rose tinted specs off and it looks alot different.

  16. TheRadLegion says:

    @Trevor:
Yeah, that’s what I was trying to say, he was young at that time when that poorly written book was out. He isn’t that young anymore, I’d think he’d learn perhaps a thing or two by now, but it seems to me the pattern (of how he handles thing) is still similar to the past.

I’m hoping this won’t turn out ugly as it did when he was still at Everton, but it may happen if he lets his anger and impatience cloud his judgement.

  17. willierednut says:

Rooney’s got a year and a half to go on his contract, so you won’t get 75 million for him.

  18. King Eric says:

RedLife – Disagree fella. Rooney was absolutely devasting last season. His thirty four goals covered his form up? How does that work then?

  19. King Eric says:

    devastating

  20. Costas says:

willierednut makes a good point. That’s another reason why it’s important to get him to sign the extension.

  21. Axeman says:

    Sell Rooney. BUy Davies ;)

Sounds like a whole storm out of nothing too much. Sir Alex will make it blow over. The only disconcerting thing is his contract expiring next.. IF (& it’s a huge IF) theres any chance of him going we have to get a good price.
