I could do with one of those bra things

  3. ManUforeva says:

What are those mini-singlets? a German thing?

  4. dijev says:

I missed the last goal, was watching Bolt and co.

  5. Fred says:

dijev, you missed an absolute beauty. You won’t believe your eyes when you see it. :

  6. Fred says:

And how about that Rooney free kick? You don’t see those very often!

  7. dijev says:

@Fred – thanks for the info!
Trying to find the goal right now.

  8. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Rooney’s free kicks record is strange….based on memory.

He scored 2 in his debut season and then never again. Then somehow found his free kick boots again in 2010 and has scored a handful since !

    Am I Correcto?

  9. Utsava Sharma says:

Gotta admit good performance, despite the goals let in. Hopefully by Everton we’ll have Jones back and have cover .
But boy Kagawa!!Absolutely love him, the thought of Him and Rooney.
Fuck me, the thought is better than sex!

    :D

  10. Yang says:

Free-kick goals are rare, I think team defense has same problem as last season. we can’t cope aerial attack very well. Need reinforce in CB part. Bring in Bains

  11. Vijayakumar says:

Defense is major problem for united.

  12. Daniel says:

Soon as Hernandez went off we started to play passing football and creating chances. Tom Cleverly was man of the match by a considerable distance.

    vs Everton on Monday

  13. Kevin says:

The “bra things” are monitoring heart rate and body temperature to help the physios get the players ready for the new season. United wears them to they just look a lot less like bras.

  14. The team that wouldn't die says:

    @Daniel
I think you found the best 11 right now!

  15. Singh7 says:

I just mentioned this on the last thread but doesn’t Vida look really gaunt..???

  16. Fred says:

Danny and TTTWD – I think you fellas are forgetting one Michael Carrick. :?

  17. Swissred says:

Was at the game…..where was Sir Alex?

  18. TheCANTONA says:

    @Yang
Who the hell is bains? What do you mean we need to reinforce in CB?

  19. Fred says:

Singh7 – looks like he’s been taking Mrs. Toure’s special diet pills.

  20. The team that wouldn't die says:

Mike Phelan actually made a good impresseion in that interwiev. It’s good to se him in a suit! Whenever he’s in some training clothes looking strange, it makes us question him. But he is SAFs choise! That should count for everything. He must have qualities we don’t see. He fits the bill as a top trainer/manager. Played at the highest level, but was never among the most prolific players.
    Just saying…

  21. Fred says:

Swissred – there was an unsubstantiated Twitter rumour that he stayed behind on “club business” but I think it’s more likely that he was at the races or the golf course. Travelling takes its toll on the boss’s health these days, so they say.

  22. Soccerisfootbal says:

Kevin, i think it does a lot more than that. Looks like the mio coach things the mls all-star players wear. It tracks movement, distance covered, top speed, etc etc. It looks a good tool to measure player fitness, energy level, stamina etc. Could be a great in-game tool because data can be sent to a computer wirelessly.

  23. Fred says:

Mike Phelan a top manager?

  24. Yang says:

Our Back four was main culprit for last season disaster, our defenders are too young or too old. Need someone in there. Bains from Everton will be a good move. Current squad is severely lacking defensive minded player imo. Fergie seems to think otherwise, but I can see same problem in team. Let’s hope my doom mongering is worthless concern.

  25. Fred says:

Swissred – respect to King Federer, the greatest player ever to grace a tennis court. 8)

  26. The team that wouldn't die says:

    @Fred
I think Daniel found the BEST 11 right now.
Doesn’t mean those players will start.
I like Carrick a lot. Wouldn’t mind him starting. But Ando is/should be the future. Him and Cleverley in midfield could make the ABU press turn sour. And save us some £30-40m

(TTTWD – never thought of that…)

  27. fergie is the boss says:

Daniel – that side I actually could not disagree with, kagwa is going to be a sensational signing. I just hope the boss uses him right, but still the backbone of the squad does worry me still

  28. The team that wouldn't die says:

    Anyone watching Smalling on MUTV?
Why is he made to make GIRLS fall with Judo tricks? Shouldn’t he be a man and take on a guy on his own size :)

  29. Yang says:

Olympic/preseason game make me nervous, Cleverley was invisible long period of game, Rafael made same mistakes, we cannot defend when opposition actually do some simple attacking move etc.

  30. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Daniel

    Don’t like it pal ;)

    I prefer mine :D
    Lindegaard, Rafa,Vida,Rio,Evra, Nani, Carrick,Cleverley,Scholes,Kagawa,Rooney.

    For Everton….

Remember we are playing away at Everton who have Fellaini, Jelavic,Pienaar etc. Its a tough start to the season. Pack out the midfield, give Anders the match for confidence sake, put Welbeck as a option on the bench, AV7 will kill them in the last 30 mins and Young will be a good match for the tiring but ever great Hibbert.
We also have Giggs on the bench with Hernandez,Berbatov,Anderson.

All we need now is Jones to be fit…fucking cunt ! :P

  31. Kevin says:

I was being a bit simplistic but yes you are correct. Nike has done similar things with my youth team I coach and it is cool for the kids to see how they measure to professionals who play their position.

  32. samuel - united WE stand says:

How does baines (a left back) solve the overall solidity of the defence? it’s not a fifa game that you can just stick any dog in a team and get away with it.

The manager will get the defence solid again, every member of the team has to work harder. i concur with the words regarding cleverly. Looks like he’s bringing the confidence from his performances in the olympics into the united team. Hopefully he avoids injuries. Anderson is looking sharper as wel, we know what he’s capable of. After reading his interview, he seems ready to kick on and be more focused. He has the mobility and dynamism we’ll need in midfield. He gets consistent and the echos for a new midfielder will wither.

Kagawa seems to be clicking with the likes of Rooney, nani, valencia e.t.c. Will benefit united.

  33. Kungfu king says:

Kagawa going to be our player of season, definately value for money.

  34. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

I can see the headlines now….

    “Rafael Do’H Silver”

“Wazza wins diving gold in Hanover”

    “Typical Germans, Fergie AWOL, 4-3….Crisis”

“Lindegaard drops Guard as Utd suffer to 4-3 victory over Typical Germans”

    8)

  35. TheCANTONA says:

    @Yang:
    Too old and too young?
    Rio 33
    Vida 31
    Evans 24
    Smalling 23
    Jones 20
Now that’s good combination. When senior gone the young ones will be mature hopefully. Now if we buy lets say 27 y.o. CB dont u think it’ll stall the progress? Oh may i add the biggest culprit from last season wasn’t centre back but injuries, that effected to another positions not only centrebacks…

  36. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Kagawa will strike a mighty partnership with Van Percy. 8)

Leyton Beenz will be wanted by all when he contains Valencia on the 20th

  37. TheCANTONA says:

Now youre talking bollocks again. “Cleverley was invisible for long period of the game” Did u really watch the olympic & pre season games which involved Cleverley??

  38. Swissred says:

Fred – Haha I can imagine, maybe scouting bolt at 100m relay ;) Cheers mate…was a bit sad that singles gold never happened for him…..but Murray deserved it, he can’t win it all.

  39. TheCANTONA says:

    @Yang:
Now youre talking bollocks again. “Cleverley was invisible for long period of the game” Did u really watch the olympic & pre season games which involved Cleverley?

  40. Zibbie says:

If SAF uses him right, WTF some know better the SAF. Fuck nits.
    Awesome game

  41. Cantona got me here says:

Anyone have a link for replay? Could not find it here in the old USA. Zibbie, how’d you watch it?

  42. BELIEVE says:

    TOP PERFORMANCE!

One cant help but notice a trend that when we have attacking minded players in the engine room we do tend to concede! But, hell if i care, it leads to great entertainment as united never die!!!
Enjoyed that second half and at a point we had Ando, Kagwa, Clevs, Wazza, Carrick, Evra and Giggsy all on the pitch at the same time linking up! Brilliant!

  43. #07 says:

    @BELIEVE

We defended as badly as we did against Everton in the 4-4 and the Blackburn 2-3 last season. The long high ball to the big lad up front and crosses seemed to be kryptonite to our back line. The midfield combo made no difference to ability to keep it tight but it was vital in giving us the fire power to get back into it.

Cleverley was my MOM. Played excellently from start to finish. Kagawa wasn’t far behind though and as soon as he went into the hole and we got the Ando-Clev partnership back together we looked like a whole different proposition. With the movement and link up that we had going on once Kagawa was playing in his favourite position and Ando-Clev were driving forward from behind him we could win every game 4-3 this season. ;)

Forget defending lets just outscore everyone! :P

  44. william says:

@ Cantona got me here check out wiziwig.tv they usually have streams for matches

  45. NEWD says:

    @Cantona got me here: http://www.fullmatches.net/

  46. United Till I Die says:

Nani/Kagawa read each others minds out there and thats what im talking about! Link up play between Nani/Valencia is improving all the time as well. Cleverly/Ando did themselves justice imo and we already know what Young can do so hopefully we’ll be less predictable in attack this season. United look set up for more chances and more goals.

Nani looks set to shine big time imo. Even when you’ve got the skill to dance past 2 defenders the best way to shake em off CONSISTENTLY is pass around them. If you take Messi’s passing partners away he’d start hitting more walls. Not only that when Messi does run past players its usually when defenders are pulled out of position for him.

This is a team game don’t forget! Loved seeing more movement off the ball from our 6 players upfront and in midfield. Reminded me of this time last year. Glad Hernandez scored but when he came off for a 5 man midfield with Cleverly/Ando/Kagawa in the middle we created even more chances. Welbeck will thrive off all this movement as thats his game.

Before anybody says it none of this is giddiness btw. Preseason or not the last 2 matches haven’t been very friendly and I’d imagine Hanover being a tough place to go should we find ourselves in Europa League again… Bottom line we look in very good shape for the main event against Everton, at least going forward anyway. Good Comeback.

  47. United Till I Die says:

Just read the comments and im glad we all pretty much agree

Kagawa/Ando/Cleverly looked class out there, especially in a 4-5-1, and considering Young, Nani and Valencia aren’t guilty of standing there hand on hip (a la La Liga) hopefully it won’t be too much to ask our back 4 and keeper to keep us in the game?

  48. Zibbie says:

    Cantona got me here says:

Justin TV on line then the link here both had it on line, The link posted I think by Ash was good. Always look for guys post links here, before the games by like 10 min.

  49. Zibbie says:

Nani looked more relaxed, in sink playing a quicker ball some times. Kagawa tried a little to hard in the first half, his goal was nice, a break a ball to Rooney’s head he lays it off for Kags and a nice touch and goal!!!!!!!! Rooney basted a left footed volley that the keeper could not handle for Pea to get a nice goal. Rooney after going down 3-1 picked up his game and his team, on the free kick he scored on he grabs the ball, no one else even try’s to claim a shot. I new then he would score, bam. Hid pen, a ham he was, then took a good shot and scored. He made chance after chance for his mates. Some form of the 4-6 is coming back, Rooney all over the place, Kagawa loves that he goes forward! Wow how fun when Vida is fit, Evans and Smalls come back!!!! Young Keane looks real good, if he could finish like Will he would a had a hat trick by half.

  50. Zibbie says:

Giggs was awesome firing balls forward!!! Saying run lads run! Clevs is a tidy player 23 now looking almost a man. Anderson son shine on in the sun! Rooney likes the left in space the most, left center. And will release others with great balls. The Germans rolled his Shrek ass 4 times, dust off score 2 an assist. As well he took over the fucking game!!!!!!!!

  51. fergie is the boss says:

Zibbie – it was a very technical and crafty side that played tonight, questions at the back remains, which worry’s me going into the everton game. I really do think Kagwa is going to bring to the united side, that the boss thought berbatov was going to bring, composer, great with both feet, great at ghosting into the final third, and score some big goals. We really have lacked that creative spark, I also feel kagwa will be a better number 10 than rooney, who I actually think rooney is a better number 9, than a number 10

  52. Yang says:

I hope Fergie look at Mexican DM or SK DM Ki, They look very bright, add some bite in the middle and can score or pass the ball. We are seriously lack in the center, I have no idea how coach play Kagawa in the middle, He is strict Forward not a MF. We willget murdered if we play Kagawa there.

  53. ashwinred says:

What a fantastic ob SAF has done in the transfer market. He is GOD. He has assembled a team that can wipe Barcelona off the face of the earth. ALL hail GOD Ferguson

  54. Zibbie says:

    Wow what options,

And the kid Powell I think in 2 years will knock the door in and play, take time he earns!!
Andro is a great teammate, looks fun. Has gave up on his rt foot? He looked well tonight.

  55. Zibbie says:

What ever he wants to do! 60 games 38 PL many formations many teams, SAF almost never plays the same team 2 games running.

  56. Zibbie says:

9 10 7 they play, Rooney moves all over,

  57. jay4manutd says:

Strong rumours arsenal and manutd agreed fee for RvP,personal terms agreed too, medical soonest.watch that space.goodnight

  58. keano99 says:

    @jay4manutd
No disrespect brother but that’s bullshit no way we’re gona sign him and if we do it will be on dedline day after he kicks up a fuss and he’s not gona do that. Don’t be listining to twatter my friend.

  59. Zibbie says:

Thanks Jay, any other twitter guys up fill us in.

  60. TheCANTONA says:

    @Yang:
I still waiting answer from you regarding centre backs & tom cleverley…

  61. wayne says:

Really don’t think it’s bullshit, think it’s obvious Utd are interested in RVP,whether he’s signed or not the interest is real

  62. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

    Agree with FITB,
    Rooney better as our no9.

Like me, I’m better on clear liquids. Damn whiskey and bourbon get me fightin’ mean. Local bar bitches won’t even serve me that shit. They’ve seen enough over the years.

    Back on topic
Kagawa was motm for me. Clevs looked excellent too

  63. sam says:

3 goals conceeded nothing to be too proud of. Cleverley looked good though, hope he stays fit.

  64. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

    @theCantona
Not sure about Wang. I wouldn’t wait around for an answer. Dude probably thinks the club is named “Wayne Rooney ManU Football Team of Old Trafford England”.

    Sorry in advance, Wang.

  65. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

I’ve never ordered a shirt before, I’m on the fence between Carrick of 2011 and Kagawa 2012. Any advice?

  66. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

    Buehler?

This place is just as dead as that whore I porked last night.

  67. Zibbie says:

Bourbon and I the same Vod, Canadian whiskey and I are buddies.

  68. Zibbie says:

RvP if so  if no, we good. Keane might have one him the 8th defensive guy. Can play all back 4 spots. Will comes back in Feb, March. Time for some work, then next year wow what a strike force. Rooney, Welbeck, Pea and Keane. If RVP as well

  69. Zibbie says:

It kills me Rooney is still only 26.

His hair looked better today, that was the key.

  70. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

    @Zibbie
What’s your brand? Ketel One when I’ve got money, anything else when I’m broke.

And Wayne’s hair did look good. Mitt Rooney!

  71. Pint Glass of Vodka says:

Or Wayne Romney? I can’t decide.

  72. Zibbie says:

    Wacky time with the IF

    RvP
    3-5-2
    4-4-2 diamond
    4-2-3-1
    4-5-1

Rooney likes trophies more then goals. He is happy out left 15 games a year if need be.

    4-2-3-1

    back 5
    -Carrick -Clevs

    Nani- Kagawa–Rooney

    ——-RvP——

  73. Zibbie says:

I was weened on Stolie and Tangarey Yes Kettle has a robustness I like, sim to Beefeaters imo
The Goose is smooth. Get a high end raspberries one with flash frozen and fresh mix of raspberries , Pull the bottle from the freezer, poor over 6-8 flash frozen ones. Then garnish with a few fresh, uuummmmyyyyy in the summer, had the last night with a bbq. The Vodka we drank was Stolie/raspberrie

  74. Zibbie says:

    Smitten Bi Rooney

Mitooney was a thug since he could drag his large ass across the rug, to smother his younger brother in his play pen. He was a Irish twin, born 10 moths apart in the same class at school.

    Wayit Roomney

  75. Zibbie says:

5 o clock and lemonade on ice works too

  76. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    A few players I predict that will come in for criticism over the course of the season are;

    Jones, Anderson,Evra,Smalling, Powell, Giggs, Young,Nani,Chicharito

The rest will be safe…dare I say it even Rafael,DDG,Clevs,Bebe + Welbeck. But those guys above are going to get a bashing.

Chicha + Ando are being lined up as scapegoats over on Redcafe recently, Nani vs Valencia always tips one way, Young isn’t liked because of the price-tag, Powell is the little signing that replaced the Major Midfield signing, Smalling is getting more prone to injuries and Anderson is Ando.

:P Prepare for “Get Bebe Outs” Too

  77. Zibbie says:

Papii on a loss 1000 posts 600 by 12 people, hehe

Kids make errors, can lose a point here and there.

This is a team that could win 6 of 9 PL titles.

Papii Carrick will get shit just watch.

  78. 1st team predicter says:

Fom tonights game, i cd c great link-up when hernandez was off for Anderson…it now shows how really theres the competition in the midfield…scholes-always impresive on his passing, though hes nt good at defending, he goes for a yellow card when needed, cleverley-the young lad z doing great..playing with full confidence, his passing n thrusting forward has always been the best part to watch, n his link up with any central striker like rooney or welbeck alwayz amazing..anderson seems to be getting better n better, he cn defend, he cn thrust forward, his style of play, his energy, wow great…n now here, there is kagawa-capable of scoring goals, good at 1-touch stuff, good at driving through the defence…i think he is a perfect #10 for man utd…n rooney shd just stand upfront!
    De gea
    rafael—–rio/smalling– vidic–evra
    valencia-anderson-cleverly-nani
    kagawa
    rooney

  79. Costas says:

    Good goals.

After a game like this, it’s once again evident why United need a striker and not a DM. Oh wait…

  80. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

I would ask my self the same question, but on earth are you doing up at this hour? I have my reasons which ahem ahem I cannot disclose at this moment in time!

  81. CedarsDevil says:

Off topic (ha ha ha, love it when folk start their posts like this)

The USA are once again proving that they are the greatest sporting nation on earth…..Except for men’s ‘soccer’ of course

  82. Costas says:

    @Cedars

I am afraid to ask any details Cedars! Whatever you do remember to play safe. ;)

I just got back from a night out. A lengthy one, lol.

  83. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

Hope you had fun mate………Nothing really, Linda was here but she had to leave and go back to her place……

By the way that was Kagawa’s first goal was it not? Epic stuff…….This lad will with out doubt shine

Just 8 more days to go

  84. Costas says:

    @Cedars

It was fine mate, thanks. I needed it since I’ve been to busy to go out in recent weeks. Hope you enjoyed yourself too.

As foir Kagawa, yes that was his first goals for us. Plenty more where that came from!

  85. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

I always have a blast with Linda mate, she is funny as fuck…….

Right I am pissing off to bed before I lose my mind! ha ha ha

    UNITED UNITED UNITED

  86. Zibbie says:

    tree sleep well

  87. TheCANTONA says:

    @Costas&Cedars:
actually it was Kagawa’s second goals for us. He scored against Shanghai Shenghua back then…

  88. mancdub says:

I’m ok for now kate I’ll let you know

  89. kel says:

I have to admit Anderson coming on brings more stability to our midfield and kagawa can go forward more and be more dangerous.

  90. Corea says:

WIth Smalling out for months, Evans not ready and Jones having a scan on his back problems i would happily see Michael Keane getting a spot in the team for Everton. Why not ?
Start t play those yougsters Fergie. Carefully. One player at a time.
With all this “value-for-money” thing there is not much we can do.

  91. Corea says:

    And of course!
IF we aren’t getting the result at the end of the day just be careful and don’t start bashing one player or another. We have to be patient.
Hope Fergie finds the way ti finally play the boys outside Carling Cup.

  92. NBI Red Onion says:

Getting there. But I still think we need a Hargreaves replacement holding MF. He was exactly what we needed if he had stayed fit. With so many attack minded players a Makele/Hargreaves would help, Garrick steps in there but I think he is stronger hiher up, we lose all his passing range when he is hidden in defence. Well lads, Olympics over, footie on. What an amazing Olympics, something heartwarming about whole world coming together in a positive way amidst all the shit.

  93. CedarsDevil says:

So the renties and the bitters get things going today with the Community Shield…….Not sure I will bother watching it to be honest. I cannot remember the last time we were not involved. Anyway, hope the lads keep working on their fitness and training…. Bring ON the Toffees

    UNITED UNITED UNITED

What can you say about a man who is so inspiring with his words,
What can you say about a man who is so inspiring with his deeds,
What can you say about a man who comes up trumps and positivity galore when the chips are down,
What can you say about a man who with great ease can say the simplest of things with consummate ease, however difficult the simple things may look to we normal people,
What can you say about a man who is so humble, understanding and down to earth,
And, lastly, what can you say about a man who lives it simple with thinking that defies the norms!

All I can come up with is:
VIVA MG! VIVA MG! VIVA MG!
FORZA MG! FORZA MG! FORZA MG!

Wish you a very very Happy Birthday MG , a true RED to the very core! We all at ROM hope and pray for your happiness, and may you have a smooth and swift recovery with the eye! Take care and have a great great day ahead buddy! :-)

  95. CedarsDevil says:

    Ah so its MG’s birthday?

    MG

Happy birthday my good friend, and my wishes for a speedy recovery……Top bloke, proper RED

  96. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

    On topic,

I missed the match but checked out the highlights. It seemed like a typical Manchester United performance to me, coming back from behind, 3-1 down, to win it 4-3. Some great one touch play there, and I am just salivating at the thought of Kagawa linking up with Rooney! If Nani had converted his chance towards the end, that would’ve been an icing on the cake. He seems to have a liking for getting the chip above the GK when in a one-on-one situation. Personally, would prefer him to have a proper shot at goal rather than trying the chip everytime. But, whatever I saw, fills me with great hope that we are indeed going to score a lot of goals this season.
The worrying part is the leakage of goals, I know this is just pre-season so we can expect a few lapses here and there. Let’s hope we have more luck with the injuries this season. To have Vidic and Cleverley back would be a huge boost and if we are not going to have a midfield signing, then Sir Alex is probably planning to give more gametime to the likes of Powell and Tunnicliffe! Nothing like seeing lads come through the academy!

All in all, looks good, I just want the bloddy season to start. It’s been a long long wait, and these silly transfer rumours have made the summer quite uneasy. Bring it on for the 20th!

UNITED! UNITED! UNITED! UNITED! UNITED! UNITED!

  97. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

    Morning Cedars,

Yes it is our dear MG’s birthday! Let’s hope he makes an appearance on here today and comes up with a classic Arry interview! ;)

How are you doing dude? All chillax for some dutch player huh?

  98. CedarsDevil says:

    Morning Prasan

You do know of course that using the words ‘dude’ and ‘chillax’ directed at me will only cause me to blast you! ha ha ha ha

Just kidding, but I do hate that lingo

I am fine mate, had a rough night and cannot wait for the 20th

  99. mig78 says:

Morning ROMs, GGMU yesterday huh. Classic come back win.

  102. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

Usain Bolt: Now I’ll stop City!!!

Bolt is desperate to help train stars such as Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia so they are fit and ready to stop City winning the Prem again.

Bolt, who collected his third London 2012 gold as Jamaica won the 4x100m relay, said: “I don’t know if Alex Ferguson will offer me a trial or not.

“But even if it doesn’t happen I would like to come and help coach the attacking players at United like I did with Ronaldo — anything I can do to make sure the title does not end up with Manchester City again.

“You see guys like Nani and Ashley Young who are so fast and skilful, but they get pushed off the ball like Ronaldo used to.

“Since I taught Ronaldo in 2009 he has gone on to score 40 goals a season, I don’t think he would have scored them all without my training.

“United have so many players with pace that if they all perfect their sprinting technique it will be impossible to play against them.

“Any time Alex Ferguson asks me I am happy to come and do what I did with Ronaldo, they are my team.”

    Corea

Grab a beer mate, then go out and find yourself a scouser or better still a sheep shagger and smash the fuck out of them, that should give you a laugh and keep you entertained

  106. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

    @ MIG 78

Not doubting that Van Persie would be a quality addition, but not sure if one player can guarantee success in Europe! There are a lots of factors which come into play, even a team performing shit in the league can go on to win the UCL! (Case in point Chelshits last season, and Milan in 2007).

  107. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

    @ Cedars

He’s an absolute beast! Even I love the celebrations but more than that I enjoy the pre-run antics of every one of the 100m atheltes, when their names are called out. Both Bolt and Blake are funny as fuck, Bolt with his 2 fingered gesture, and Blake doing a fake scare-face in the camera! I laugh out crazily everytime these naughty buggers come on the track! :D

  108. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

Rooney on the developing partnership with Kagawa!

“It was great [to play with Kagawa],” he told MUTV. “Obviously he’s a very clever player. The likes of him, Chicharito and Tom Cleverley are players who are capable of getting on the ball and linking the play and it worked well for us tonight.

“It as end-to-end and we were a bit sloppy at times. We could have done better defending, but I thought some of the play throughout was great, with some great link-up play between us.”

Rooney is eagerly looking forward to the new campaign and is confident United’s defence will be more secure when they take on Everton in their opening Premier League fixture.

“It’s been a bit stop-start with the international players coming back a bit later but we’ve had to make sure we look after ourselves over the summer,” said the 26-year-old.

“I think tonight you can see that they players are looking better every game – fresher and fitter – and hopefully come next Monday against Everton we’ll be ready because it’s a difficult game.”

  109. CedarsDevil says:

So Wayne Rooney can actually put a sentence together? I am shocked!

He’s an ugly scouser, but he is OUR ugly scouser

    Rooney Rooney Rooney

    @ Cedars

“Sad excuse of a termite”..Hahahahahaa….made me laugh like crazy that..haha!

  170. Zibbie says:

I can be way wrong, Good riddance Hazzy if MUFC could get either Kagawa or Hazzy, I’m so glade we have Kagawa. His play caught my eye last year. A difference maker. As well Danny can play LW

  171. goatinaunitedshirt says:

Terrible news around the world again. Earthquakes, refugees invasion, someone drove into my post box, zombie apocalypse etc etc when will it ever end.

  172. 3 lions says:

kagawa is da man!! gonna fuck some teams up this year i reckon with his superior intelligence and close control. cant wait!

  173. Zibbie says:

Tree out loud all by myself, Bee makes me LOL!!!!!!!

prasan yes Rooney is thrilled to have him. I truly believe, trophies drive Wazza, If he Wazza personal likes the “10″ spot over the 9 or lw. He will be happy to score 25 goals vs 35 goals and win silverware. And move positions. In today’s game the rotate anyway so much.

Kagawa to be a double, double man like nani, say 15 goals 23 assist, not to much pressure on him??

Rooney is a thug, but a leader of men as well. He helps his competition for his time, Welbeck, Pea!!! Like the link I put up about Bill Russel last thread, for Wazza it is all about making his mates better and winning!

  174. goatinaunitedshirt says:

£20 million for RvP and £20m for Rodwell.
    Who would you pick
a 29 yo permacrock with one foot who would be free in one year and hold fuck all transfer value 3 years from now OR a 21 year old midfielder with 3 years of experience begging to have a decent coach and mentors to take his game to the next level.
Come on Sir Alex keep the vP rumours alive as it takes the piss out the french twat but snap up Rodwell before the bitters get a decent player.

  175. CedarsDevil says:

‘Terrible news around the world AGAIN’ What a daft statement Have you only been listening to the news since yesterday?

  176. CedarsDevil says:

RvP is a permacrock? Another daft statement, one of the best finishers in world football…..I guess Fergie must me daft as well for wanting him

  177. Zibbie says:

Goat not a knock on U about the zen thing , well maybe just a small shot, a thimble full.

  180. Eric keane says:

Thank you mancini fr signing rodwell. Atleast fergie wont go there..proper over rated injury prone player..

  181. Zibbie says:

Tree I see others have fun with Goat until he horns them, Sandeep, NRD both he had a go at as of late, as you know 8 months back with a weakness of the keyboard, we beat him back into the night for a long time. Now he shows in the light of day. Those late night drunk rants showed his sick side, then a stated racist , then dominates RoM with long ass posts, he is such a nob. I’am sure he has multiple names here as well, maybe 911 himself.

  182. CedarsDevil says:

More important to piss off and focus on your troubles

  183. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    3 lions
Hes still a young lad. Try and remember back to how good Keane was at 21. Rodwell will be a mainstay there is no doubt in that for many years to come. Its early in his career but all the signs are there. He was a £30m prospect only a couple of seasons ago, you dont turn shit overnight. I would prefer him over RvP any day of the week.

  184. Zibbie says:

Fran Oz calls Tree a Muppet?

Goat go chew your cud. Piss off dude. Hammer fist yourself.

  185. Eric keane says:

If RVP when injured was available at 20 mil ‘d still sign him over rodwell..
He is over rated, he is a poor mans martinez

  186. RedHarry4Life says:

There has been a lot said about our defense last night letting us down. Just a few points on that Young Michael Keane was playing at right back, though he played well and looks a great prospect and Carrick played the whole game at CB enopugh said.(blackburn last season and the Fulham game away)

I though Clev was MOM last night but christ every time he was tackled I cringed thinking F**K here he goes out for 6 months again. If he can stay fit, but thats a big if, then yes he can do a great job for us.

Think Kagawa IS a great signing, 2nd half his movement was brilliant, took his goal brilliantly and did something similar about 5 moinutes before but mis controlled the ball.

PLEASE Pleased some of you twitters please start a rumour that SAF was in England making a bid for Heskey so that PSG, Shitty, Anzi can bid 10s of millions on him

  187. Eric keane says:

Goat – your football opinions are normally spot on. But rodwell over RVP? No chance in hell.

  188. 3 lions says:

u said it eric keane!1 i reckon hes a pile of turd anyway

  190. Eric keane says:

Zibbie – long time mate.. How’re you?

  191. kanchelskis says:

Rodwell to City then. If that’s their only deal this summer, I think we can be quite relieved. Is he really any better than Barry / De Jong? Always thought he’s rather overrated.

  192. Zibbie says:

    RvP or Rodwell? Both.

  193. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    Eric keane
Its a case of need. I do not think United need RvP over Berbatov and I reckon we need a player that can do the DM / CD job that Carrick does and get groomed for the part so when he come of elite age 24-28, the time Carrick will be too old, he will be ready, versed in the way of United, an English international not a want away dago being the back bone of the squad.
My opinion but I do understand people querying Rodwell. Hell shit if Rooney had stayed at Everton his career would have plumeted a bit as well. Thats what happens when elite prospects stay at their mther club when the mother club have sod all elite players to imitate and learn from, they waste away. At OT he will flurish.

  194. Zibbie says:

Eric, I am doing well thanks for asking. Back and neck letting me do a work gig. Family is healthy for the most part. The 20th getting closer. Kagawa is the real deal. How are you? MG is a year older today!

  195. goatinaunitedshirt says:

  196. Zibbie says:

Red Harry spot on. I see Keane earning the 8th defender spot.

  197. Zibbie says:

If Keane could finish like his brother, he would of had a hat trick by 1/2.

  198. Zibbie says:

Fade , fade away. Like a bad fart…….

  199. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

    @ Zibbie

I like your thoughts about Rooney and Kagawa! :D Thanks for the link by the way, enjoyed it. So can we have a Bill Russell type signing doing the blocking job in midfield? :P

  200. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

City have signed rodwell. Another midfielder missed out on.

  201. ARUN says:

thank god city signed rodwell he is definetely the next hargraeves.
    massively overrated .

  202. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT

Is that a done deal already?

  203. Zibbie says:

    Stupid is as stupid does.

Kagawa has a high football IQ.
Rooney says he plays the simple ball. That speaks volumes. RedHarry so spot on he looked so good in the 2nd half. He tried to hard in the 1st half. Then a tactical adjustment and he was of and running. A pesky defender as well.

  204. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

Daily Fail reporting that Shitty have snapped up Jack Rodwell! So, Shitty trying some of the homegrown shit huh!

  205. Zibbie says:

Prasan , they are coming, lads to dribble balls with their feet over here, more and more all the time. Labron hitting a header!!

  206. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    ARUN
    the next Hargreaves – overrated

    REALLY?
We are certainly feeling it now that Hargreaves and Fletcher are both missing from would have been a very fine midfield and the planned takeover of Keane Scholes. Rodwell would have been the next generation with Powell, possibly Jones and Cleverley (not all playing at the same time naturall). The lack of extra men has made us feel the pinch with Fletcher and Hargreaves both out the picture. Made us play Carrick full time with no decent back up, made us keep Giggs and Scholes longer than originally planned. We shouldnt be grooming one or two to fill one or two possitions rather grooming 4 or 5 for 1 or 2 possitions. Rodwell could have been one of those 4 or 5. Fantastic work by Manchini, a clever man even though alot of you feel City were lucky.

  207. Zibbie says:

In 3 years Tunni will be busting heads, Rodwell on loan at Stoke, with Shity paying 80% of his wages.

  208. Eric keane says:

Zibbie – 20 th and RVP are both coming close.. And its great to hear you and your family are doing well!
    Cheers !
Cant wait for us to give evrton a right bollocking. Almost threw something at my tv when we drew 4-4 with them..

Goat- even city do not need rodwell, they have toure barry de jong.. And even though i hate him, ihave to say de jong is a much better player than rodwell

  209. Zibbie says:

Beware the man who jumps on the fears of the masses, oh we missed anther CDM, o my the sky is falling.

  210. Zibbie says:

Odd the lads are not in the match today.

  211. Zibbie says:

Coffee is working part of it’s magic. I have to go take a goat.

  212. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Should we not sign a midfielder my ideal midfield would be Carrick and cleverley with Kagawa playing further up field behind Rooney and Nani and valencia on the wings.

  213. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    Eric keane
Yeah but there were rumblings of Toure wanting to go home just this summer (by home I mean Barca – something he said to the spanish press). De Jong not that happy with being a bench player. Hes seen himself be a world cup runner up as a tough man to a bit part player and the national team suffered because of it? You got to have backups, you have to be ready for injuries, international duties to far flung regions, cup games, squad rotation. By your reckoning we dont need Kagawa as we already have Scholes, Cleverley, Giggs, Anderson, Young (can play center), Valencia (plays center internationally) etc etc etc

  214. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    Zfag
Must look big when you only have 3 fingers, ha ha ha ha ha. Get George to hold it for you!

  216. 50 Shades of WillieRedNut says:

City have panicked by splashing a potential £20 million on Rodwell. Looked good few years ago, but hasn’t progressed as expected. Rather city sign him, than De Rossi, or Martinez.

Let’s take it clear. United lost another battle for player that used to be our aim for some time. Just like Hazard just like Moura… Not to mention others…

Thanks Jay, for I do not tweet

  234. goatinaunitedshirt says:

Maybe Mancini plays the press like Sir Alex does. Maybe Mancini puts out stories and so called interest to mask his tru intentions. It wasnt long since Mancini came out and said he had no money to spend and was thoroughly pissed off with it all. Only for a few fags on here to take the bait and laugh at City. Mancini is smarter than you give him credit for. Rodwell is an astute investment for the future but with the possibility of hopping straight in as and when needed.
Why would you want to go mega bucks in for DeRossi when your midfield is good enough to win the premier league as it is. Why would you pay 20million 30 million to replace the same cost player that has proven himself and is a winner for an aging forreigner that may take a year maybe 2 to get into the rhythm of the premier league. Why risk it, they have a wining formular. With Rodwell it increases their options without jeopardising team harmony. A loss for us but not one to get upset about admittedly.
But then again Im talking to people who want to spend 20million on a player the same age as Berbatov and certainly isnt that much better if better at all. Madness. However the goat will be sticking around to educate those who will listen and the others can keep their head in the sand!

I hope for more yellow and red cards. Exhausted bodies and stupid arguments that drain power from players like Terry. Is a small hamstring injury too much to hope for?
It’s easy to see that when City actually have just a few injuries (more now than was the norm last season!) they look weaker. Savic and that keeper looks vulnerable. Without Silva, they lack a spark in MF. Nasri is not the answer. Milner is ordinary. Even with his experiuence I am in no doubt that Cleverley is already a better player.

We already have tunni who could be better than Rodwell in 2 years time. City have signed rodwell due to desperation. One more thing Howcome everton sold this kid for just 15 millions. I do rate Rodwell but it’s a crazy signing for Cty and if Rodwell goes to City it will be crazy on his half.

As others have said City have better players at this moment in that Role. Rodwell wasn’t even a guarenteed pick at Everton so dislodging the experienced players will be tough and at Rodwells age he is at a point where he needs games to grow.

Not sure Evertons the right place for him but City certainly isn’t

  321. Mutusamy says:

Cleverley is a playmaking attacking midfielder whereas I see Rodwell as Defensive midfielder with some technical ability. A few of his goals have given him an unfair press as people now see him as an attacking midfielder and it shows he doesnt do all that well there. I see Moyes as using Rodwell in that roll as putting him just in front of the back 4 too risky better for him to learn the ropes in an advanced possition where a mistake isnt as costly. As you do with a CD in a full back role or a forward on the wing. Personally I think Man City got a potential gem there but then DM never get remembered do they. Poor Carrick gets shite after shite lugged at him but he is one of the worlds best zonal defenders.

  324. TonyBee says:

Eventhough Rodwell started as a Defensive midfielder but he never played well there. Moyes started him using as a centre Back or sometimes as a pure midfielder. I think our Jones could be a better defensive Midfielder. I know Rodwell is young But I don’t think he is what we require. He could be another Hit and Miss and we already have many young Players who we are developing so Rodwell wouldn’t have fitted here.

  336. TonyBee says:

I would think going to MUFC getting paid well, then earning 28 games a year. Then a 30+ and big game down the stretch dude. Then make big $ and tour Q rating (commercial appeal higher the rating the more $ and sell-able you are) with MUFC and off field moneys would way make up for the early oil soiled $$$$

You could be right my friend all a matter of opinion. I like to have as many in as possible. We made a bit of a hash up when we finally broke up the Giggs, Keane, Scholes and Beckham partnership that stayed maybe a season too long together and the remaining three after Beckhams demise stayed too long together again and now we see Giggs and Scholes still here – by relying on Hargreaves and Fletcher as being the heirs apparent and now they are both out. I would like a good droup of players to take what should be only a couple of possitions. I also see Jones as the left sided CD to take Vidics place and play along side Smalling at the back.

I think Its High Time where we give a proper Playing position to Jones. Frankly I hate seeing Jones play as RB. He is being spoiled there. Let Him be a proper Defender who likes to Bomb Forward . One of my major issues with Sir Alex in lat few years has been experimentation. Our squad is not stable. There Should be Fixed position for every players imo.

Not this again. My friend Im not racist. A few on here have called me racist and its stuck, its silly. They are regular posters and bully all new comers who disagree with them or come in with maybe a little too much vigour. Im not racist, I have no idea how I can prove it to you over a blog but why not take my word for it. Afterall I can post what I like here. I could spam with disgusting racist shit if I was really racist. StR could ban me then I could make a handful of new aliases and divert my IP through different proxys and he wouldnt be ever the wiser and I could flood here with 50 different names and racist away. Im more a total football guy myself. I think the strength of United down the years has been the defensive responsibility of our attacking players and the fact that many a player can play a multitude of possitions. I see Jones getting some time covering at LB this year. I would like to see that to see if he is truely two footed. But Jonesy is still young and he may well have a sophomore slump this year.

Its good to try new experiments but not regularly. Jones is not a RB. I have noticed many times jones tend to leave his position and come in the centre of the park which is his natural positon. He does cross the ball well but He should be used a proper central defender. Same with Smalling who I find more stronger and better defender than Jones. I hope he gets well soon. At this age he should be playing regularly and Not spending time in Benches or in medical room.

  369. Zibbie says:

Ash you articulate your point so well, Jones is a baller, he my did as they say a we bit. He learned went to a major competition for his nation. He has heart skill and great presence. He will find his home with the next gaffer’s set up. He is young and learning and playing games.

Our main problem in Defence is all of our defenders are still very young and have not yet fully matured. Be it Evans or Smalling or Jones or Twins. Defenders peak after 25. We have to be patient with them. I think this season we will see the gradual phase out of evra and Rio. Vidic still has 2 top years under his belt. I don’t want anymore young defender being bought.

  374. fergie is the boss says:

Ash – I do think evans and vidic can be our CB partnership, and if we can keep fedinand vidic evans jones and evra fit for most of the season, we could do well. Midfield is also a key, it depends if cleverly powel and kagwa can really step up to the plate, and stay fit, because those guys could be the heart of our creativity

I have high hope with Jones. I don’t understand how some people criticize him. He will be atop class player in some years time. I am happy atleast he played 40 games in his first seaason. It is a huge thing for a 19 year old top play 40 games for a club like Manchester united. Thats what I want from Rafael,Smalling,Cleverley and other youngsters. Stay fit and play many games. The thing that count most at young age is gaining experience. I hope we see Rafael play atleast 25 premier league game this season. He has been here for four seasons and hasn’t yet played 20 league games. I am happy he got some valuable experience in Olympics.

  387. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    Ash
i think the experimenting with Jones is part educating a player of what is expected of a certain possition and how best to understand the difficulties of that possition when you return to your proper possition. For example Richardson was a far better winger midfielder after Sir Alex put him at LB. He obviously wasnt a left back but he was much more defensively responsible after the education.
The other point to the experimenting with Jones was probably more to the fact that Sir Alex admitted that he was going to wait another year to buy Jones but too many were sniffing around the honey jar and he had to strike fast. I suppose you could say he wasnt in Sir Alexs plans quite yet but had to make room and playing time for him anyway.
Ive always been a fan of Fergusons playing of the single wing back and a CD as a full back on the opposite flank. Evra has maybe this year and another left at LB before age catches up with him and that could be why Rafael was signed up. I believe Sir Alex will be switching sides meaning Rafael will be the wing back in the future on the right and the tall CD/LB will be probably Jones or Evans. When we feel the need to play a LWB then Fabio will start his apprenticeship and no doubt we will have someone filling in on the right. Jones and Smalling were England U21′s together and Jones tended to play LCD and Smalling RCD. So my reckoning is it will pan out like below
    RWB Rafael
    RCD Smalling
    LCD Evans/Jones
LB Evans or Jones great to have two defenders being able to interchange like that makes it more difficult for the opposing team using tactics to isolate a fullback or run him into the middle. For instance Vidic drug out wide and EVra covering in the center with a distinct lack of height.
    Now we run with
    RB Jones/Smalling
    RCD Rio
    LCD Vidic/Evans
    LWB Evra

  388. 50 Shades of WillieRedNut says:

  393. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    Yang
You could be right there. I said yesterday that I thought, for a different reason, that the age gap is a concern as as soon as Giggs and Scholes call it a day the most experience player is Rio. He plays in a withdrawn possition, defender as with Vidic and Evra and there is a distinct lack of experience in midfield and the forward possitions especially with Owen gone and Berbatov probably going. I was championing a move for Kaka as he has been made “available” and feel he would give some veteran support to the midfield and forward areas.

I feel like a kid at Christmas, who got what he wanted, Kagawa!

  402. 50 Shades of WillieRedNut says:

Moyes is a genius. Sells Rodwell for £15 million, with add ons. He’s got Fellaini and Gibson to fill that position. Plus, he’s got young Ross Barkley in reserve. He has to take over from Fergie if the gimps are still in charge, when the great man retires.

  403. Zibbie says:

Rt after Clevs was injured, keep in mind Scholes was retired at the time, SAF said Clevs was best MFer in England. Clevs to do well this year.

  404. Zibbie says:

Willie you are my Red Brother, does the most with squat!

  405. Snoop says:

5 days to go until the season begins and United have only been able to sign 1 quality player in kagawa and another league 2 player in powell who many Manchester united fans think is going to step up in midfield and make it any better.it will probably take another 4 years of development for powell to even entertain regular football at united but for now he only looks ready for carling/fa cup mathes for him to build up he’s potential. In kagawa we have a player who almost every united would have wanted. Kagawa provides that I important link between midfield and forwards and with he’s pace, skill, close dribble and ability to tread balls through and score a few, he will certainly bring fluidity back into united attack and makes less unpredictable on the attack. He also makes up for the previous targets that we missed out on like ozil, hazard and moura.

United have suffient cover in all positions with many players challenging each other for a starting postion, but the 1 postion that is so crucial in the modern game is in defencive midfield. United have been naive in not buying a player who can break up play, dominate the midfield and outpower opponents. This is where our weakness is in the whole team and if they are not addressed then we will be outplayed in midfield by many of the big clubs. It leaves me to ask myself as well as all of you supporters, what has fergie been doing in the transfer market???????. So many options are available like j.martinez, m’villa, tiote, and de Rossi so why is fergie not trying to even consider these players. If we do end up losing the league this season it would be because of us getting out muscled in midfield and this is where I’d blame fergie for being so so naive.

  406. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    50 Shades of WillieRedNut
So with Rodwell and Cahill gone and Osman getting older. Moyes is a genius? What happens if Fellaini picks up an injury.
Would you be happy going through a season with Gibson and Barkley being the midfield duo? That has to be one of the leagues worse midfields. Everton may well be doing an ok job but they seriously look like a club in serious troubles. To me atleast. Hibbert playing professional football is a joke. Theyve lost Bilyatidinov, Osmans getting older and rejoined aquintances with Pienaar there wing possitions are reliant on a loanee from madrid and Coleman? for the future. If it wasnt for the bringing in of Jelanovic (spelling?) then Everton would look serious relegation material.
I realise Moyes has fek all money to play with but with the 15million from the Rodwell sale he has to perform some unbelievable magic. For a top 6 club I think he arguably 3 players who could place in a top 6 teams squad and thats it.
Look for another ridiculously slow start to the season and a wakeup around christmas time to reach at best 12 this coming year.

  407. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Prasan / Zibbie

Absolutely lads no more once incentive needed than the last five minutes of the their last game.

I am happy with how Clev looked against Hanover and if Ando is to be given a year to prove himself then so be it.

I would like us to add RvP the thought of him and Rooney, Danny, or Chico is breathtaking. Plus Rooney needs a big wake up call for me.

  408. fergie is the boss says:

50 Shades of WillieRedNut – if moyes does take over from fergie, I just hope rooney and moyes can settle their differences. But I still feel, if and when the boss retires, I still feel we will need a change of ownership, who can give united more money in the long run, and have the ability to clear the debt, which the glazers do not seem to be doing quick enough

  409. shebangsthedrums says:

Zibbie – me too, just watched his goal again on MUTV, the boy has class and we have a gem.

Giggs12 – it was gut wrenching, but it won’t last long, No. 20 will arrive in May. I don’t think we’ve missed out much not being involved in todays game. It wasn’t the showpiece event it usually is when we are involved. At Villa Park not Wembley, not a sell out and overshadowed by the Olympics and GB success.

  410. Ash says:

Speaking of the successor to Sir alex it seems Phelan is the frontrunner in the glazers eye. I hope it is not the case. He hasn’t been doing a great job as our number 2 so him becoming the coach would be suicidal.

  411. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    Ash
What makes you say Phelan hasnt been doing a good job at No2. What has he done wrong.

  412. . says:

  413. 50 Shades of WillieRedNut says:

Goat – £15mill for a player who wasn’t a regular in the Everton team? Pure genius! And he’ll spend that money on a replacement. They also picked up Jelevic last January. Moyes knows how to work the market. The man has performed miracles on a tight budget. Injuries are part of the game. When it comes to buying and selling players, Moyes is a genius.

  414. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Ash

Sorry mate that is a terrible post about phelan. Fans jumping on the bandwagon, how do you know what he offers as a coach? Have you saw him train the team day in day out. Do you know under his coaching we have won three league titles and a European cup.

It does wind me up people having a dig at Phelan. It’s not the Glazers choice it is Fergie who has him as number 2. He is very much respected by the boss and the players.

  415. Ash says:

    Goat

He has been no where as efficient as carlos queiroz was. I think we should understand the Number 2 plays a very important role. I have never seen Phelan taking charge of things like carlos used to do. Carlose also used to help us in buying players (Nani,Ronaldo etc) . I am not saying phelan is bad but He is not that great. I may be wrong he may become one of better coaches and whoknows may become a good coach for us but I highly doubt his Management skills.

I respect the work he does but lets be frank I have never seen him take responsibility of situation like queiroz used to take. I am not against him being our number 2 ( Eventhough I will prefer carlos to be back) but I am against the Idea of him becoming the manager of Our club. I have never seen him talking to sir alex when the chips are down. I still remember how carlos used to dictate players during his tenure. No disrespect towards him but I am against the Idea of him being our coach.
Yeah of course if he does become our coach and does well then i will accept I was wrong but not now.

  422. Ash says:

    Willie

In the era of Glazers anything is possible. Glazer knows they cannot spend like other owners so they won’t want a coach who just depends on buying players. Thats where Phelan fits in. Glazer would be already looking for a manager who does good job with limited budget and doesn’t criticize them in public. They would prefer someone who they know and have trust that they will do a decent job with the3 given money.

  423. goatinaunitedshirt says:

    Ash
You also forgot to mention that Queiroz alerted Sir Alex to Bebe and championed us signing him.

I believe the eventuell successor to Sir Alex will have a daunting job and I believe it will be a time of great change, disruption and possibly alot of failure. Just like when SIr Matt left the boots were too big to fill. We may well turn to a lesser manager, employ from within as a big profile name may well have as much success or lack of it. I dont want to be a doom sayer but Im not looking forward to the day. A lesser manager like Phelan may keep the current squad together as he feels he’s part of the rebuild but wont have the ability and managerial skill to keep the machine running smoothly. A big name manager like a Mourinho (who I fuckin hate with a passion) will want to stamp his mark on the team with 3-5 big profile signings that will please the transferfags on here but piss off the squad as a whole and alienate others. For me its damned if we do damned if we dont. All I know is Sir Alex has been here so bloody long that the day he leaves will certainly feel like the death of Manchester United as well. Of course it wont be but his name is stiched into the fabric and every flag of this great club and in my mind inseperable.

The only thing that worries me is the fans. They would want our new manager to win every games. If by chance we go trophyless under his regime in his first season then fans will be after him and ask him to be sacked. I don’t want a chelsea situation here. Give the new manager atleast 2 seasons. @wayne
I’m divided on a LB. Too much is made of Evra’s drop in form imho. Sure he isn’t playing at his top level but I feel if we didn’t know his best we would fairly happy.  I’m sure a challenge would move him back up a level but that gives the problem of who do we actually buy. Players ready to challenge him won’t want to sit on the bench especially as Evra doesn’t get injured and has immense natural fitness. Not to mention the price of such a backup left backs is going to cost more than such a player should do

And if you instead go for a young player is more likely to hinder Fabio and Blackett  rather than challenge Evra

    @Snoop
I have said elsewhere its easy for us to sit here and play Fantasy Football but as we see with most clubs who have owners who operate in Fantasy Football mode it’s simply not that simple. There are a lot of other factors other than just how they are playing at their current club which most of us don’t consider, these include players mentality & personality to see how they would settle in the country, league and club. We have to assume Fergie who is at the centre of the club knows better.

Oh and M’Vila will never be a United player imho. He has serious mentality issues which seem to be so bad it’s put Wenger off. Don’t think a decent club will touch him with a barge pole

    @Giggs12
I don’t know where Ash gets that the Glazers see Phelan as Fergies successor (Their history in the NFL is to appoint quality but often controversial ‘head coaches’ at great expense so if it was just the Glazers say I would put money on Jose being the next United manager)

However I do agree that he is a weak number 2. Don’t doubt his coaching ability but he just doesn’t seem to have the tactical ability or seemingly the strength to offer differing ideas like CQ would

Thanks for the look out my friend but haters are going to hate. Do you think MUST would ever change their minds against the Glazers even if they had secret money and paid off all the debt then gave every season ticket holder a Manchester United signet ring. NO! They will still hate. Best way is to ignore all non-football posts – you’ll probably find there are only 30odd per thread so it wont take so much of your day away reading through the dross and getting yourself upset.
As with everyone else being sensible – all your views are interesting to me, every single one of you. You might not friend a friend elsewhere but with me Ill do my hardest to treat you with respect.

@3lions… Grow up and act your age, cedars is not he king of RoM he got put in his place by STR a few weeks back and knows his role now… Anyone who stands up to them is sachu and another wum… I’m just a big Utd fan as the next guy but accusing of racism and bullying a poster is just pathetic…
@giggs12- moutinho is good but witsel is the player we need, great engine and power just what we are missing

  511. Corea says:

As i understand Witsel has 40mln euro release clause. So £30mln shalldo the trick with £25mln initial “testing resolve” offer.
It’s that simple i belive although it is always more complex than we think of it.

Of course i hope Fletcherinho finds the way but don’t be stupid. He will need time and we need real Fletcherinho not a romantic cameo.

Cmon Fergie. Just do it for us, mere wanters.

  512. 3 lions says:

    king sol

i think maybe u think cedars is some kind of sadistic bastard or some shit or passive aggressive. i gotta say he’s never come across that way to me. but u are rite it is all about united and we shouldnt be fightin we should be united.

  513. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    King sol

Maybe mate I probably need to see him more. I think there is a myth hanging over us that we are missing this beaat of a player. Since 2009 Fergie is clearly trying to build a young side with more guile than aggression. He sees powell, Clev, possibly Anderson and the rise of Pretrucci as the future. During development he will use Carrick as the main stay with Giggs and Scholes being the education.

I think we will see a lot of rotation this season, if we add RvP all I think we need is a KB. We are so vulnerable there its untrue.

  514. 3 lions says:

who the fuck are u to call someone stupid corea? simple football banter why u gotta act the dick? i dont see what is so romantic about it. i fully believe he can recover to near his best if not his best and why shouldnt he?

  515. Red Van Nistelrooy says:

Truce mate I’m all about Utd, supported them since I was 5, mad about Captain Marvel as my uncle was his biggest fan.
    @giggs12
I’ve worked with this Portuguese student who was mad about Benfica and all he raved about last season was Gaitan and Witsel, I knew about Gaitan already but as I watched Witsel live a few times I could see what the fuss was about, he really is the missin link, a bit more technical than fletch but a real box to box.. We do need a kb aka lb but who will b understudy to evra as I think he will b back to form this season

  517. Red Van Nistelrooy says:

Fuck the Brazilian FA! Trying to blame Rafael for not being able to score twice in 90+ minutes!

  524. Corea says:

As i understand Madrid offered 30mln euros for him and still the transfer has stalled.
It looks like good showing in the Champions League made the trick and of course being the backbone player for Benfica.
You know, sometimes one year is enough.
Madrid signed Ozil for 7-8mln and that really was a bargain! But did we really have a chance ? Don’t think so.
Jose said there is no one better than Khedira in his position. So perhaps putting our offer on the table might do the trick.

    Goodnight.

King Eric, Kings, Bobby Charlton never post now even the likes of Samuel has been seen less and less. I don’t think I have much more in me if it continues to carry on. Oh is that it. Because I dont read Zfga and Cfags post I never get what the accusations are I wondered what fake meant. Am I supposed to be mascarading as other posters on here.
    Trolololol
Why would I do that? Whats the benefit. I say what I want on here as there are no reprecussions, its a blog, how could there be. What does one of my “alter egos” say that I dont say. Is there a viciously racist poster on here that is my alter ego. Is there another poster sending out pictures of scabby cocks? Is there another poster doing anything slightly taboo. NO then why would I need an alter ego. What would be the benefit, it would take time to organise another email or log off and change my IP or the like. Why to say similar things to what Im already saying?
Am I so desperate that I need an army of friends that I have toi make them up. Hardly. Im glad for the friendship and support who wouldnt be but I went missing for 10 months, I didnt particularly miss it because quite simply RoM isnt all that. I have a family, kid, swimming pool, massive garden, a couple of jags, a blog of my own, an antiques business and much more besides. So why make up friends/ alter egos for a place which is really not that high on my priorities. I only came back to RoM because despite the 650 million Manchester United fans in the world there is no other blog that has as ready and quick talk function as this one, otherwise I would never have come back. Just goes to show most United fans are lazy and despite our so called love for the club, all 650 million of us we have 1 blog of medium traffic being bullied by a handfull of dross.
I will keep posting however because I love United and unlike alot of you, I talk sense. I try and put reasoning to my arguments about players and managers and football ideas in general. I am not surprised that the old guard have gone. I dont believe its because of the arguing, that cant be pinned on me because I only made my return from a 10 month absence a week and a half ago. It can be pinned on fucking bile about a weather girls tits, a twonk who sings songs and gets words wrong, bitching and bullying of new comers, elitism amongst funny enough the least elite individuals upon this mortal coil and general back stabbing.
As Ive always said. Great Club, great Manager, for the most part great players with probably the worlds worst sports fans. I intend on staying and making that better, sad for you that wish otherwise -cry in your beer then.

  556. james21 says:

To be fair my friend. I was judged to be racist about 12 months ago. I tried to explain myself and my reasonings, the way I used the words and for the most part everyone ignored my post as it was obvious to them that there was no racist element in what I said at all. Cfag had a go and kept reminding people of what I said. if you look back (if that function is available) there were plenty who told Cfag that it wasnt racist and just drop it. Cfag went on a witch hunt and pestered and pestered and pestered untill he got a response. 1. from friends of his and the 2. from me. I said a few things to piss him off with the express intent to piss him off and ever since he has bullied and claimed racism.
I am not racist simple as that. I have had black girlfriends, I have black colleagues my two nephews are black, my brother in law is black.
Cfag just got upset because I said we should nuke Lebanon. That isnt being racist that is winding him up so he explodes. I dont dislike the lebanese, I dont believe Ive met one, if I did I wouldnt know it unless he had it tatooed on his forehead. Another persons origin has no bearing to me, as long as he looks a laugh to talk to I have no care in the world.
You should not get a joke confused with racism, you should not get a dig confused with racism and you should certainly not belittle racism and the problems it causes by claiming I am a racist and the scum of the earth. There are far worse people out there that should be taken notice of.

I work from home, Internet is on 24 hours a day so popping on in here is easy enough to do if there is a lul in activity. I type pretty fast to as I spend on average 10 hours a day online (time put together). For instance its 11.15 here now and I will be on past 4 as I follow a ton of US auctions but like all auctions there are luls in activity and then I can spend time with like minds.
I dunno if Ive done alright for myself. I think people see jags and a swimming pool as a big thing but they arent really. I live out in the countryside in Sweden and houses out in the sticks are relatively cheap. £150 000 buys you a very good house. A pool would be £10 000, a couple of old jags will set you back £7 or 8000 each etc etc. I bet alot of people are sitting on much more expensive property back home. I see on these housing programmes all the time of people having £400 000 to buy a holiday home in spain amongst the chavs and to me that is way out of reach. I just like to buy quality and Im a bit of a cheapskate. If I sold the jags Id get easily the money back so in essence I havent paid for a car when everyone else buys from new or near new.
Yeah for a racist I havent done bad, lol

I make my own mind up about people. I’m pretty thick skinned but you know as well as I do you were out of order and have been on occasions in the past, enough to get a response from me, who actually never had a problem with you. I also remember there were many who attacked you over comments so don’t try and act like the injured party mate because it doesn’t wear.
You refer to Cedars as cefag which could be deamed a homophobic comment to those who would choose to take offence. Like I said no problem with you what is in the past is in the past.

I had many who attacked me over my comments as I pushed the boundaries a little but by no means was I anything racist. I protected people who were called racist when I thought the argument was thin against them and that in turn got me known as a racist. I used the N word one time but that was not directed at an individual, it was in a piece of text about the shouts of someone with Tourettes. Tourettes for those that dont know is the extreme shouting or ticks by a person who cannot control them. The words shouted are innapropriate and can be damn right offensive and rude. The person with Tourettes doesnt mean what he says but they can be offensive non the less. I wrote a barrage of words to make a point about a joke we were having about ex goal keepers. Writing those words were entirely acurate to a Tourettes sufferer and in complete context with the joke that was circulating at the time. Criticising me as being racist in that regards when no one had the words directed at them is as racist as a judge saying the word in response to a crime commited by the man in the dock. Like the montey python scetch in the life of brian, “even if I do mention the word Jehova”. Cfag came in right in the middle and like someone on here said earlier today just tends to attack without reading and understanding the context.
Know Ive done my time, I left for 10 months so everyone could calm down. Im back, no grudges and I get shit upon with multiple posts. Read the posts of the past week and a half and read how many posts by Zfag and Cfag have been anti “goat” whilst I havent battered an eyelid or retaliated. Shit man, Ive done my time when am I a free man again. I dont mind if we never talk again but why should I have abuse thrown at me. Ive tried to explain but they wont listen. For my sake I dont give a rats arse but for others on this blog it has become tiresome and has turned this blog into a school playground.
as for the Cfag and Zfag labels. fag is short for faggit not faggot queer. It means wet wanker, lily livered soft skinned moraltwat. If they take offence I dont give a rats arse. Give me one reason why I should. If I get attacked the label stays, if I dont get attacked then I will have no reason to use it as I dont talk to them directly nor do I have any wish to do so in peace or war. They are dull and I just feel we arent compatible. Nothing in common.

I would like for us to have something in common if your not governed by them who you can make friends with so please lay off the unwarranted and explained racist crap. Its just not cricket.

Danny has not asked for anywhere near 100k, I’m sorry but if a player hands in a transfer request and is rewarded as the clubs best ever paid player then I would like proper home grown talent paid their worth. Danny has got a long way to go but it was the same with Wes Brown.

  583. King Sol says:

That said, “losing out” on Rodwell but signing MrJones seems like a win for UTD – similar transfer fees.

Most of the transfer rumours regarding MUFC seem like re-cycled journalistic garbage BUT it’s more than a little bit suspicious that SAF has been missing for two of the last three pre-season friendlies. I’d imagine that “something’s happening – but we don’t know what it is, do you MrJones.”

He grabs the game by the scruff of the neck, and has presence of mind to lay off the header to reward Kagawa for all his good work. It seems fairly obvious that since CQ left we have been lacking that ingeniousness tactically. For all Fergies qualities as a manager I’m not sure tactcially is the area he fully excels in and he seems to have often relied upon having that right hand man who can provide that something extra on the tactical front. I’m just not sure CQ, Mclaren or Kidd (or even Knox) would have let him field the team he did against Blackburn (maybe the same personnel but different implementation) and would have shown better in the two CL losses to Barca.

As I said I don’t doubt his ability as a coach but he has yet to show any evidence he is the kind of Assistant that Fergie needs to protect himself from himself. Maybe I’m wrong and the others would result in the same issues we have seen but I’m not convinced and would personally like Phelan back doing what he does best and coaching with a more tactical Assistant coming in

I’m guessing this is me you’re talking about. However, my remarks were meant to be tongue-in-cheek. I was parodying those who scapegoat the Pea constantly. I can see how it might’ve come across as actual criticism.

Now, I did point out that Hernandez does seem to be missing opportunities that he almost always availed himself of during his first year. Even his biggest supporters–of whom I am one, trust me–can’t deny that.

I love the Pea. As much as he caught shit last year, he scored 12 goals in an injury-plagued season and limited playing time. Count me among those who are crossing their fingers that he regains his form this season. If he does, watch out …

Not sure when I started posting, think it was 08/09 season. Posters keep mentioning some kind of clique. Is it a crime to have a group who actually get on, who bounce off each others posts and have a laugh ? Any poster is welcome to join in. The major problem is these freaks who use duel usernames, you can spot them a mile off. We all know who they are its bloody obvious. I have met up with posters at games and had a good laugh, we’re all Reds and share a lot in common. Meeting people on the internet is always dodgy but so far so good and anyone is welcome to join in at any game.

  625. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Corea, Yeah, that is the kind of comparison I always make. Ole was not a great starter, I don’t even know how many matches he started for United. But he was always around and scored all the important goals for us. Chicharito may not necessarily start as many matches as Welbeck, given the latter’s all around game which people (including me) speak highly about. But there are always going to be many matches in a season where you’ll be 0-0 after 80 minutes. In the old days we used to bring on Ole, now we will bring on Chicha.

And in the past two seasons, he has always obliged us with a goal Ole style. He’s scored more important winners over the past two seasons than most people in our squad. That is something we shouldn’t forget when talking about Chicha.

BTW, did you guys know that Giggs has the most assists in the CL since the 01-02 season. I found that to be an amazing stat. Viva Sir Giggsy!

  626. utd_fc says:

No one’s having a pop at Hernandez. At least I’m not. All I’m criticizing him for is his knack of being offside more often than not and fluffing his chances. If he’s a goal poacher he needs to work on his finishing in front of goal. He needs to be more clinical with his chances.

And to clear my point, all I was pissed off at was how people were claiming that Welbeck was having contract issues and should be fucked off while Chicharito who gets a huge salary bump after one season is justified.

Agree about the point that Chicharito should be our super-sub. The boy is a game-changer and is especially effective against tired legs and minds. Very good impact player. I’d say the same for Ashley Young too.

  627. Balaji Sivaraman says:

utd_fc, Mate, there are three parts of being offside.

One was highlighted by Sir Alex when he said that Chicha is so fast that he is able to get very much ahead of the defenders. That makes the linesmen think that he couldn’t have been onside when the ball was played. I don’t have the stats but it would be interesting to see how many offsides Chicha has and how many of those are incorrect calls.

The other thing is that “maybe” our mid-fielders aren’t quick enough to release the ball. This has been an issue many times in the past for many similar forwards. They’ll make the run but it’ll be spotted late and the ball will be delayed by a fraction of a second making the player offside. This is where I feel that Kagawa will be of great help to Chicha and that their combination could potentially be lethal. He is great at spotting runs and feeding balls to the forwards from what I’ve seen, that could be great for somebody like Chicha.

The third part is where the player himself is too excited and makes the run earlier that he ideally should’ve. This does happen with Chicha a lot, given that he is superfast and is at a relatively young age. With age and experience, he should overcome this aspect and not be offside when he shouldn’t be.

Not disagreeing with your comments, just expanding on it. Cheers.

  629. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Lucas Moura can’t even start an olympic match, at best a Theo Wallcott.
David Villa has been 2nd fiddle to Messi and has spent his best years on the fringes of Barca.
Benzema has failed to achieve his potential.
Wesley Sneijder’s career is over, his decline in form has been rapid.
Samir Nasri failed to light up emptyhad and has revealed himself as a bitch to this nation.

  630. utd_fc says:

    Balaji

For his sake and ours, I hope he has a fantastic season, as do everyone else. The name on the front of the shirt is more important than the one on the back. It’s a long season and it’s going to have to be a team effort if we’re to pip the scum to the title, so every one’s going to need to play their part.

    Clint

It’s one thing to not like a player but dismissing the players we failed to sign for whatever reasons, does not do anyone any good (esp since we will be facing a lot of the above over the course of the season). They chose not to sign for us, that’s their choice but I flat out don’t agree to a lot of your statements. Hazard while acting like a whore, is good on the ball and has genuine talent. Moura’s got potential, let’s see what he does with it. Playing along the world’s greatest player will leave you as 2nd fiddle to him. Sneijder I agree is way past it, and am so glad we didn’t sign him. Nasri, while failing to establish himself as a regular at City, has had his moments, he has talent, just chose the wrong fucking over-packed squad where he’s going to find it hard to cement his position anyways. Poor choice from him I feel, but it’s his to make.

I’d take Young,Chico,Jones,Smalling,Powell,Kagawa,Valencia,Berbatov,Lindegaard over those names above any day of the week because they genuinely picked a club a that would benefit them and not their bank accounts. They didn’t pick United because of wages, weather or as a stepping stone, they did not whore themselves and chose a club where they can grow as people and athletes.

The players we missed out on had a choice …
    (money,fame,wages, weather) vs (Progression,growth,education,legacy)

Re your request at 14:02 on the 12th of August on this thread:
    - No can do I’m afraid, I never saw the game. I’ve been under the cosh with work, and I’ve been dedicating every spare moment to helping my nephew prepare for a big Science Expo that he intends to win. He lives 300 km away, so it’s been very time-consuming, and has cost a small fortune. The expo is on Wednesday, so my life can now return to some normality. Cheers!

I’ll agree to the fact that most of the list you mentioned above did whore out for money but that’s the sad thing regarding 90% of footballers today

    - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -

“Fetching cigarettes for the homosexual senior pupils at my school is tedious.”

    or informally one might say:

“It’s a fag being a fag fetching fags for the fags.”

  640. 911_DEVIL says:

    Fag
Originally referred to a homosexual male; now its a genetic term of concept, roughly equivalent to, ”I’m a better man than you are and, on a side note, you look somewhat efferminate”.

A fag is some 1 who falsely labels themselves liberal or progressive when they want to force the rest of society to conform to their clinically insane and regressive ideology
