VIDEO: Chicharito Scores In Gold Cup Semi-Final

Javier Hernandez has added another goal for Mexico in the Gold Cup, scoring in extra time against Honduras to book his country’s place in the final.

With 7 goals in this season’s Gold Cup, only Luis Roberto Alves’s 11 goals in 1993 better his record in the history of the competition, which dates back to 1963.

  12. Manchuchu says:

    Off topic: Kaka loan? Really?

  13. Zelh says:

Manuchu – no not really. twitter bollox.

  14. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

kaka? yes please We could do with something to warm the bench for when our boys get tired of winning back to back games.

  15. TheRadLegion says:

If I were him I’d bicycle kick it while doing a flying header.

  16. Fred says:

Rad – that would have been too easy for him. He prefers to test himself by finding new, inventive ways to score every time.

  17. Bodjo says:

Face/Foot/Head/Bollocks, doesnt matter to Chicho they all end in the net somehow

  18. Boston-Man.Utd says:

I watched the game and even with the little service he go lil pea did well . It was a hilarious goal

  19. slim says:

what was the celebration about. seems like he was saying “show me the money” lol

  20. soren says:

fear no!! fear no!! say chico to celebrate. the player of Honduras bother to him.

  21. EpoXy05 says:

    @slim

critics were saying chicharito would be scared of the honduran defenders, his celebration was saying “im not scared” (paraphrasing) its a common gesture for scared in mexico.

  22. FletchTHEMAN says:

This one was off his right testicle! What? @$^&*!! What~!?

  23. Alansmithdanigerianred says:

Mr chico score goals like a fucking bandito.

  24. StandardRed says:

When he was celebrating… he was showing off “I’m not scared of scoring”. It all began when Honduras coach told mexicans that even Chicharito would be scared of the Honduras defense players, playing a 5-4-1 way.

  25. Fred says:

EpoXy05 – thank you for the explanation of Chicharito’s goal celebration. :) Vamos Mexico!

  26. CHICHARITO_TrueRedDevil says:

Chicharito is a Natural born Scorer no doubt!!! he looks to help his team Win every gameHe’s starting to show his leadership in Mexico squad & it has translated into Great team Football!!

  27. smartalex says:

“I am working really hard in Manchester,” Hernandez said. “I get up at 8 a.m., I eat breakfast and I go to the training session where I work so hard and I do extra work in the gym. I was educated by my parents in that way. If you want something in your life, you have to work hard. I know football is a job, but I am enjoying it so much.”

Soccer players rarely use heavy weights to strengthen their upper bodies, but when Hernandez arrived at United, coach Sir Alex Ferguson decided he needed to bulk up. Fitness coach Tony Strudwick and sports scientist Gary Walker worked closely to design a specific workout schedule, which has resulted in Hernandez adding several pounds of muscle.

Hernandez’s regimen meant he had to report for training an hour earlier than most of his teammates to perform a stretching routine followed by bench presses, fly presses and lateral pulls.

Another part of the program involves Hernandez’s diet, every aspect of which is carefully monitored by the Manchester United staff. When he arrived in England, he was asked to compile a list of his favorite Mexican dishes, which were then adapted by the club’s chefs to incorporate more nutrients and reduce fats.

  28. King Eric says:

Smartalex. Hello mate. Great link. To think I was mocked on here the other day for posting that Hernandez had bulked up dramatically (Fred) ! He has a real desire to succeed and all the hard work is paying off. Like I said the other day this lad will become the worlds best striker.

  29. Stevie the CUNT says:

Our Lil Pea dont care how he scores. Off his head, off his face, off his thigh or off his butt.
As long as the ball is in the net, it’s counted as a goal.

I’m really amazed at how he can predict where the ball will fall and be in the right place to score. Ruud & Ole had that sense too.

    Ariba Ariba Chicharitooooooooooo

  30. soren says:

favorite mexican dishes chico: enchiladas, asado, mole, tacos yummy (ya me voy a cenar) ha ha

  31. Fred says:

@King Eric – Hahaha, it just sounded so gay, that’s all! From you of all people! All in good fun of course. :)

  32. guero_hmken says:

Chicharito scores goals improvising with the face… backeaded… backheeled… tapins… frontheaded… right and left foot… and this one was off his right testicle !! Ha-Ha-Ha

  33. Zibbie says:

Dos Carne-asada buritos low fat sour cream please and 1/2 the guacamole as well, graces

  34. Ibrahim Affelay says:

    @ sdred

Yeah i remember that goal too. i think it was against balckburn rovers

  35. Corea says:

Sorry for posting it in not the exact topic but i heard Costas saying let’s keep Sheasy.
He has been a loyal (why not if playing for the best club in the world) and a reliable player but if keeping him means continuously stealing games from Rafael&Fabio i would be very disappointed.

As for Chicharito. 7 goals already, it has been his season. We’ll see what the so-called “second” they call the most difficult season has in store for him. I would doubt though it could have an effect on him but it could be a difficult one because now THEY ALL know what they are playing against.

  36. Lovin' United says:

Hernandez keeps getting more handsome everytime he scores!

  37. Red Typhoon says:

    @Lovin’ United

LOL…More handsome eh!! ..its like he sucks the euphoria of the celebration for scoring goals to keep his good looks..if he stops scoring..i wonder what’ll he look like??..A certain short prick from Argentina maybe?? :-)

  38. Lovin' United says:

    @Red Typhoon,

Aww man, you’ve ruined my strictly straight wet dream now~!

  39. King Eric says:

Fred. Ha. Was only messing pal.

Corea. Hello mate. Good to see you back here. Have to disagree about sheasy though. He isn’t “stealing“ games as you put it. If he plays its because fergie thinks he is the right man. Its up to the twins to keep him out which they probably will. Costas concern I think is the fact they struggle with niggles.

  40. sachu says:

    @king eric
mate, selling oshea could become a problem.
he can play RB AND LB ALSO CB.
i know jones can play CB but the full back positions could become a problem.

  41. Samuel - united WE stand says:

I think a few people need to get outta the closet here lol.

Seriously though i’m glad to see the goal machine who is hernandez banging in the goals, will smash his country’s international record soon enough.

But like i said before though, he isn’t the finished article, to really elevate himself into the world class bracket and be a complete striker, his first touch and close control inside and outside the box, he needs to hold the ball up better and that really will turn him into world class because he already has the brilliant movement, deadly finishing, works hard e.t.c

  42. Stevie the CUNT says:

off topic. Arsenhole wants £60million for the Fab. What can he do for £60million?? Be the cum-sucker of the team?

    Serioulsly over-priced dickhead.

  43. Corea says:

@King Eric – i am not saying he is stealing games sir. you should read between the lines. i just meant to say that i prefer seeing the twins week and week out. Sheasy is a useful squad player though. So if Brown goes, with Gary retired perhaps we might need a cover.
    But wait.

    Rafael/Fabio at RB.
Smalling Vida Rio Jones Evans CB
    Evra Favio LB.
With Smalling being able to fulfill RB duties.
PErhaps we might need Sheasy still.

Niggles should be a thing of the past next term i guess. We’ll see.
A just want to see the twins everytime.

  44. Corea says:

“he can play RB AND LB ALSO CB.” yeah but i would prefer seeing the players who are meant to be in their respectful positions. Every season is tough these days so if the injuries do happen then yes, we might need the big squad with Sheasy capable of filling the gap. But not the first choice anyway.
I want some 06-07 United back. I want some attractive football from us and we might get it this term i believe.

  45. sachu says:

    @stevie the cunt

mate , if henderson is worth 20 plus then cesc is probably 50 milion he has 4 years left on his contract
and is just 24 years old
i think fergie has got 2 bargains in young and degea
also jones for 20 million looks full of potential

in the last few years with the market becoming as crazy as hell , we have got great bargian signings like
hernandez , dasilva twins , valencia, smalling , young , jones and degea.
so CREDIT TO SIR ALEX, DAVID GILL AND ALL THE SCOUTS

  46. Corea says:

20 mln for Jones still outrageous. 10 mln for Smalling with him playing just a handful of top flight games ? Yes, now we all know, that was money well spent. But this is the market we have these days. Sometimes it is worth trying.

  47. bayobuya says:

The lad has been playing a lot of football I feel he needs a rest hope Mexico is not going to the Copa A coz that will be a lot of games for our ‘little pea’

  48. bayobuya says:

@Corea, makes you wonder where anyone gets the gutts to link the ‘Berba’ topgoal scorer in the EPL with figures of 10mln.

  49. Corea says:

@bayobuya – 30, last year of contract. You know, we might still sell him for that kind of figure. Strange things do happen. But i think 15 mln is a more accurate one.
    Hope he stays of course.
Rooney Chicha Berba Owen Wellbeck and Macheda good enough attacking line!

  50. sachu says:

    @corea
we should get atleast 12- 15 million for berba if we sell him.
i think we will sell him.
i love berba and i am sure better clubs than psg wil come for him
    maybe milan or bayern.
gibson wes kuscak obertan diouf berba and oshea will be sold . thats wat i thnk will happen
we should raise more than 30 millon from those players .
so even with signing de geaa jones and young for 55 million, we may not have spend too much.
i am certain 1 or two will arrive in midfield
whether its sneijder or teletubby adam i got no fucking idea

  51. Balaji Sivaraman says:

So, how many of you have filed your divorce papers?

    ;)

  52. Corea says:

So if Chelsea get Modric for the mouthed 23 mln it would be a steal. Think he has made his mind up and wants to stay in London. Wonder if Levy would want to sell the player. Strange things do happen though.

  53. Costas says:

There’s no reason to sell O’Shea in the same summer that we will lose Wes and until the twins prove that they won’t go down injured every 2nd or 3rd game. I am sticking by that.

As for Chicha, what else is new? ;)

  54. sachu says:

    @corea
with levy and redknapp around , chelsea wont even get MODRICS UNDERWEAR for 23 million.
its similsr to the ronaldo situation .
fergie said we wont sell him.and ven after player made all sorts of noises fergie didnt sell him for ayear.
so after levys statement , i think modric will stay

  55. Corea says:

I am also glad to see you Costas ..

  56. shmoo says:

    @sachu

it would kill me to see that blue nosed bastard playing for us, and i pretty much doubt it he wil…

  57. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@smartalex, Thanks for that link mate.

It just goes to show how much effort is put by the backroom staff to keep the players hale and health. Sir Alex sure wasn’t kidding when he thanked them all during the trophy presentation. They sure do deserve the praise by the looks of it.

  58. shmoo says:

tell ya what some of the prices for players today is fking ridiculous… alex sanchez.. club are saying he is worth 45 million.. and the gooners want 40+ for fabregas, that must be killing barcelona, considering he was on there books as a kid!!!..

  59. DKB07 says:

Not to forget the top scorer (Alves with 11) scored 7/11 in one game against Martineque (who?)

  60. Jeet says:

Not taking anything away from Hernandez, but how bad was the defending. Did they really leave him unmarked on the far post, or did he run in late? I can never tell – he is that quick!

  61. Costas says:

    @Jeet

Just look at the glass half full mate. :P

In all seriousness, I think the defending was dreadful. Anyway, lets hope he scores his 8th goal in the final and brings home the trophy.

  62. bayobuya says:

@Samuel I agree with you on ‘not being the finished article yet’ he can certainly improve his first touch etc, but holding up play is just not his style he is a run at the goal every chance type of striker. Thats why you also need the Berba in the team coz these are two different options.

  63. Paul H says:

Great to see Chicharito on fire in this tournament. My only concern would be that he needs a decent break at some point to arrive back fresh for the start of the new season. Wonder if he’ll figure in the tour to the States this year?

  64. fergie is the boss says:

sachu – unless the boss plans to play young alongside rooney in some games, pending if united rest hernandez. For me selling berbatov would be cutting it short upfront, we would basically be relying on young nani rooney and hernandez to get united 50% of the goals, unless owen and welbeck really step up to the plate, esp owen. Valencia will chip in with goals, anderson is another who is looking to build on his record tally of 4 goals for the club. If fergie sees welbeck has a key striker for the club, then it is possible the boss may move berbatov on, especially if he wants macheda to be given another chance to prove his worth for the club

  65. TB says:

6 milion pounds for such a value player. You can never underistimate these kind of striker whos allways at the right place at the right time! Look at his goals! Its rare to see him doing any spectacular or breathkeeping goal, but his allways there. Love it! Cant remember last time we had such a goalscorer. Van Nistelrooy? Hernandez might even take home the golden boot next year. He is the little extra pea all teams need. Viva Hernandez!

  66. bayobuya says:

@Paul I’m also fearing a Chicharito burn out or even an injury the guy is just playing too much football as I said before I hope Mexico is not in the COPA America tournament. With Chicharito’s hunger to perform esp for utd and the need to fight for places he will probably want to play in the Yankee tour. You cant sit on your laurels when competing for a jersey with the likes of the Berba and now possibly Young.

  67. bayobuya says:

In SAF we trust, he will know how to manage the lad!

  68. willierednut says:

Who gives a flying fuck, what players cost these days? It’s not your money! Onto the little pea. I think we’re looking at one of the best strikers in europe, in a few years time. The lad has a knack of being in the right place, at the right time. Very similar to RVN. Need to get the lad tied down to a long term deal, as Madrid and Barcelona will no doubt be circling. Cunts!

  69. smartalex says:

Here is an excellent 1 minute video of the Chicharito groined goal.
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/23/javier-chicharito-hernandez-scores-goal-groin_n_883165.html

  70. MEXICO is RED says:

One of the Honduras’s player Carlo Costly posted on his twitter a picture of him like Perseo holding Chicharito’s head. Check this:

    http://www.blogcdn.com/deportes.aollatino.com/media/2011/06/clottey-twitter.jpg

Well Carlo Costly is crying right now… Honduras always tried to do the same, a violence game and 11 defenders.
    Here the balance:
Chicharito 2 Goal in World Cup 2010 – Coslty NOTHING
Chicharito 7 Goals in Gold Cup 2011 (USA has 7 goals) – Costly 4 goals
Chicharito 1 EPL Championship – Costly (he never play in EPL)
Everybody knows who is little pea – Do you know who is Coslty?

  71. smartalex says:

MEXICO is RED – Great comment!

    Carlo Costly is a nothing.

    Chicharito is everything!

    Come on Mexico!

  72. unitedyankee says:

After supporting US soccer for over 20 years and hating Mexico, I can’t believe it…. But I’ll be wearing my United 14 jersey and hoping he scores a hatrick to win!! Now I really understand all the United is greater than England comments- United>>>> USA!!!!!!!! Viva Hernandez

  73. Mr C says:

I just hope we don’t put too much pressure on Chico in terms of expectation next season. He was an unknown quantity last season but other teams won’t be taken by surprise at his quality this time around. This being said, I’m not sure they’ll be able to do that much about it …Chico’s an instinctive goal poacher and class is permanent. I doubt very much that Chico will be fazed by all the attention he’s getting – he seems pretty level headed and comes from good footballing stock – apparently his dad and grandad played for Mexico – so might be in a position to deal with the attention better than most.
