What a great finish. I can’t believe some fans were calling him ”shit” and “overrated” at only 19 years of age. One of the reasons why I was glad he went on loan was so that I didn’t have to hear Utd fans critisizing him. Just save some of these goals for us, Danny.

  2. Costas says:

    There the boy Danny.

  3. Tony Starks says:

Typical finish from the kid, he’s got talent in abundance, I guarantee he will be a hit at Preston

  4. Jandsdad says:

some fans are too quick to write off a young players.
Only a few players have been world beaters from their teens onwards most don’t hit their stride until 21 years onwards.
Everything has to be an instant smash hit or its just shit.
Patience is a virtue and all that

  5. edwin says:

Excellent to see him scoring a goal like that and having such an impact.

  6. alinaabbamancesterutd says:

That good loan for danny wish he will follow the footpath of David Becks.

  7. Anon says:

Danny will be in the starting XI for United by next season’s end, when United switch to proper 4-3-3 with Nani and Welbeck partnering Rooney.

    ..
ok maybe that’s a bit wishful, but he’s definitely going to be a brilliant forward.

  8. Toby says:

he spoke to my dad after the game and said sorry for scoring against his nephew haha. my cousin wsnt very happy. nice goal though

Slow down, there, cowboy. Danny’s “apprenticeship” will take a while longer than that – first, he’ll have to get past KikoTheKid and DImmy. Second, I’m not sure that SAF will set up the team in a 4-4-3. Third, what about Valencia ? – is he surplus-to-requirements as far as you’re concerned ? I don’t think so.

  10. Belgo-Irish Red says:

4-4-3 denton? I don’t think any manager could set up his team that way, never mind SAF ;)

  11. nass says:

reminds me of Rooney vs. David James

  12. the scottish wonder says:

    @Fze123 and Jandsdad

    I could not agree more

i think the loan deal is god for everyone.. I hope he will begin next season full of confidence and ready to be the number 4 striker

  13. ash says:

great goal by welbeck.hope he becomes a great striker at united and not become another cambell.we have to be patient with every players mainly with the youngsters.every one cant be a rooney or messi.welbeck should be played only as a striker and not as a winger.i think playing him as a winger stopped his progress.

  14. aaron says:

errr didn’t that take a huge deflection?

  15. realred says:

who needs sergio canales when we have danny boy

  16. sigssoft says:

What an exquisite finish. Hope the lad can get regular starts and continue like this. Great player!

  17. Macheda IS GOD says:

    dont get ahead of yourselves.

  18. Drabik says:

I’d say that was more beautiful than brilliant. Great goal!

  19. chrispiano says:

We should loan Macheda aswell for 6 months.

  20. Mikael says:

chrispiano: That would leave us to light on the striker department so I can’t see that happening.

Good goal, hope he’ll develop and bulk up a little and he’ll hopefully have a great future at United.

  21. weeeeldrinkadrinkadrink says:

Was there a slight deflection on this shot?
sorry for putting a dampener on the goal if I’m wrong. This kid is a striker not a winger so I’m glad to see him at least getting some first team football in his correct position.

  22. READ CAREFULLY WHAT I says:

A goal like that is straight off the training ground.

    Makes sense.

david gill thinks we are in great shape financially…is he joking…
on a positive note he confirms we wont be selling rooney…
even the thought of it is scary…

  24. welbz19 says:

Gutted he didnt do the lightning bolt!

  25. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

I believe Rooney has 99 Premier league goals going into todays match

  26. welbz19 says:

    GHTT
Yeah read that myself yesterday! he will have 101 at 6pm today!

  27. Always Be Closing says:

The goal was alright, deflected completely.

  28. Trevor says:

Some fans need a kick up the arse!

Youth players need time to adapt, time to gain experience!

Lets face it, if any one of us got the chance to pull on that shirt we would be nervious recks! Same happens with these boys!

Excitement, Overhit passes, Rushed shots… Pre Match Tactics & Instructions sometmes goes out the window!

For me Football is all about Abilty and Confidence!……. You can put someone of ronaldos ability on the pitch, if he has practicaly no confidence he would play crap!

Stikers dont Score when low on confidence!
    Wingers Cant beat a man
    Defenders cant tackle
    Goal Keepers cant catch crosses

Some might say im wrong, or deluded but i know one thing for sure, jumping on a Players back doesnt help specialy more with the players trying to break through!

For me i dont like Carrick, He drives me bloody potty with some of the things he does! Some disagree some agree although, when he is playing i am cheering him on. Willing him to do well.

Anyway, Im looking forward to a good match today. Although i want a win, the very least is that i want all our players to turn up!

I hate loosing, but when your team doesnt even turn up it is even worse. Leeds & champions league final spring to mind!

    Its not happening today!

  29. Trevor says:

    @DebRed

United Never Sell Their Top players!

Before you jump and Say Ronaldo???

Ronaldo wanted to Leave…. So we had to sell
Rooney Wants to Stay so he will never be going!
Beckham – Fergie didnt approve of his Private Life & thought it effected his Football.. well published
Van Nistlerooy – Threw his toys out of his pram and got too big for his boots.. Goodbuy!

The only exception to this is Jaap Stam!…….Massive mistake, put a tear in my eye when he went!

Replaceing him was like replaceing Peter the Greate Dane!

  30. alpha_rs says:

    That was very well taken.

  31. Carlow Redz says:

Further tactical genius from Fergie. Welbecks chances of 1st team action were becoming a little limited and a good run in a championship side will do his confidence a world of good. Remember his debut goal v Stoke last season? Although I do have to question Fergies ‘he will be on the plane to Souith Africa’ comment earlier in the season – too much for the youngster at the time? Then again, who are we to question ‘the master’…..

  32. stretford end ryda says:

as i keep saying on the forum, give the youth a chance, only a few kids have been instant world beaters, look how shit fletch and o’shea were for us when they first come into the team, so id say wait until he’s 23/24 before judging him and why are people trying to take away credit for his goal? chattin shit oh it took a deflection!!! my arse the keeper got a tiny finger tip on it and so what if he was off the line, if that was rooney you would all be saying its the goal of the season!
