I agree. Not just Parker though. Barry seems to be rated higher than him too. Which I also find laughable. Quite frankly, I hope they continue to look past him. Pogba did really good last night, but take it easy with the praise. Stoke was piss poor last night. I expected a hardened side and a battle all over the field but frankly Stoke was nowhere to be seen and how Walters can call himself a pro footballer is beyond me. It would have been better to play with 10 men rather then having him on the field.

As for Pogba, I thought he did well yesterday…without doing anything spectacular, he acquitted himself well. The game was won by then so it was probably an easy situation for him to come into, but he showed a few nice touches and wanted to get on the ball all the time. As Zelh above mentioned, it was a ploy by Sir Alex to rub it in to Ravel.
What I would like more from him is to show a bit more composure on the ball…when it comes to him, hold it up for a bit, look up and around and pick a pass rather than try to play the easy option one all the time..take a bit more charge of the situation if you know what I mean.
Again as for Ravel, he can go fuck himself….he’s no longer a United boy, you’ve dug your own grave Ravel. You had the chance to play for the best club in the world and you blew it. bore off…we’ve got Pogba (for now

Random thoughts after last night:
I think a lot of the stats (no shots on target from open play) and the lack of quality of Stoke have been rather unfairly used to slate the performance last night. Fact was we owned the football, completely, and the penalties we got, and those we could have had, came from moments where we’d probably have scored. Coupled to the fact that Stoke are an effective team, when they park the bus they present one of the biggest, most physically aggressive defensive units in the league. They are not relegation fighters any more, they are a premier league team that stacks their defence, and that will never be easy to beat.
And yet United beat them, and made it look easy. Sublime short passing all over the pitch meant that Stoke could not effectively press us and we could build attacks at will. Frankly I thought, in the actual defence of their penalty area, Stoke were switched on and put in a shift because Berbatov in particular was slicing them up with his passing in the area, but they put the tackles in. Not many shots, sure, but the Stoke’s defenders each put in a number of vital interceptions under pressure. We were always going to score, and they never were, and that is not a bad performance at all against a team like Stoke.
City can claim they miss Yaya after last night, but they need to fuck off. They miss Yaya? How about the entire half of the first team that Everton were missing?
Objectively, I think City should still be favourites. But football is not objective. They are feeling the heat and they don’t like it.
@Doghouse: I think any team that has seen its lead at the top of the table cut to zilch by United would come get nervy. With our history of timing the run to perfection and being ruthless from feb onwards, they most definitely are feeling the pressure.

Couple of people here on Monday night were talking about how our squad is nowhere near as good as City’s. Myself and Giggs12 were actually tryna explain that our squad is much better than people think – and I think that’s backed up by the fact we’re level on points with City despite all these injuries.
Also that City’s squad isn’t as hot as people like to make out – no Toure and Balotelli lately and look what’s happened.
In fact….you take Kompany out of their team for as long as Vidic is injured……….and who do you think will struggle more? No doubt we’ve missed Vidic but the likes of Smalling and Evans have done a really good job, way better than Savic!
As for last night, I don’t think there were any real negatives, it was a professional job done sort of performance. If you’re being picky you could say that Smalling’s distribution was a bit dodgy and the 2 strikers looked short of match time….but I’d rather look at the positives. Carrick and Scholesy controlling the midfield again, Valencia looking in beastly form…and Evans looks like he’s in a very confident mood atm, great to see.
And obviously Pogba lit up the place last 20. Shouldn’t get carried away, but it did remind me of Ronaldo’s cameo vs Bolton back in 2003.
If Fergie’s thinking of playing a 3 man midfield on Sunday….I doubt Scholesy will start after playing 160 minutes in the last 3 days. Anderson and Jones may not be fully fit either……..so wouldn’t be at all surprised of we saw a midfield trio of Scholes-Carrick-Pogba. Bit of a long shot but would certainly be interesting, hopefully he’ll make the bench at least.

@Dela: I missed the match and saw the Pogba video posted by Sandeep. Looks like a right player to me. Positional sense, tough, passing, crossing, has it all. Can shoot too, from academy reports. Fast too, but glides rather than bust a gut. Very excited. Him and Tom with Carrick for experience should do the job for the next few years. Not saying we couldnt do without another midfield player, but over the medium term, it’s probably not half as bad as many, including myself thought.

@Dela: The biggest problem I see with buying quality midfielders who would create a “triffic” impact, is that I can’t think of any that will fit into a 4-4-2 AND is available. All the fashionable names being bandied about like Hazard, Ericksson, Gaitan, Ozil, blah blah are gonna be misfits in a 4-4-2. Many are overrated. Modric maybe, but hardly available. Dream would be Bastian The Beast, but that one’s never gonna happen. Personally, I think that we should ditch 4-4-2 and move to a modern 4 band system, but that’s just me, and I don’t see that happening.

Was actually hoping to see a midfield trio of ravel,pogba and cleverly. With ravel hammered and every possibility cleverly doing a wilshere and the fact that pogba is yet to commit his future with united i for one will remain careful not to get my expectations too high. Don’t want to be negative but stoke was awful. The real test will be chelsea and spurs away. 4 pts from this and i will be grateful.
Counter attacks will win us the game this weekend, so for me it has to be Rooney and Hernandez or Rooney and Welbeck.

I thought we had done away with the 4-4-2 for good the season before last, when we started all big games with Wazza upfront all by himself. The emergence of Hernandez and Welbeck seems to have changed all that.
Modric would be brilliant but the prices being quoted are just absurd. I don’t think anyone is worth that sort of money.
