Not surprised by number 1.
Come on. That can’t be right.
No way Ronaldo should be at #3. Ok, he’s scored some stunning free kicks, but how many times does he strike the ball directly into the wall?
Dennis Irwin at 37 is a big joke.
Shunsuke Nakamura is at 40. He’s way above that. Anybody remember his free kick against us at Old Trafford a few seasons back?
Alessandro Del Piero should be in the top 10!
CRon doesn’t deserve number 3. He doesn’t have the consistency.
A dead-ball specialist? It just does’nt get any better than David Beckham. Beckham makes the strikers in the team look imperious. Just ask Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke. You cant go beyond Beckham in free-kicks. He’s just a class apart, simply sublime. Juninho’s not that far off. Even now Becks ai’nt half bad. There’s only one David Beckham.
Ronaldo better then Ronaldo Koeman?! You’re having a laugh!

Ronaldo did make a few stunning strikes, but to rank him ahead of Ronaldinho is a joke. Also, Roberto Carlos is in the same mould as Ronaldo.
I do not know much about players in the 80s, so I wont comment there.
My Opinion, Mihajlovic @ 10th should be higher and Del Piero @ 13th is crazy considering how many Del Piero has scored already this season. Zidane too made some good freekicks, but is hardly a specialist, so he goes down lower in my list.
Ronaldinho was only good for 3-4 years, unlike Juninho & Beckham, who have done it throughout their careers. And as much as Ronaldinho tries to convince us, I think the goal against Seaman was a fluke
I would take Beckham ahead of Juninho too, for the reason Beckham scored that big freekick right at the death against Greece and not many had scored any bigger freekick than that on the whole list. Also, the one thing that sets Beckham apart from Juninho & many on the list, is that, whilst Juninho might be slightly more dangerous with a direct freekick, Beckham create much more goals from setpieces, with countless assist to his name
there is only one Becks !
who is no.2 ?

“Denis Irwin at 37 is a big joke”.
I agree 100% mate. Denis Irwin was a fantastic free kick taker. He scored some beauties when he got the chance to have a go. He always seemed to get pushed out by others though. I would love to have seen him take far more free kicks for us than he actually did.
Hate the cunt but Platini was superb at free kicks. Becks at number one is well deserved. As for Ronaldo, no way should he be at three. Really wish he would let others have a go. When Hargo is back it may change.
its like they put irwins name in there with no real taught
he could well be in the top ten
Wait a couple of years and we’ll be seeing Tosic in that list. At least I hope so…
David Beckham? LOL
Juninho is by far and away THE best free kick taker the world has ever seen, obviously not as high profile playin for Lyon but check out his stats(ie goals per free kick!!!)
