According to them I must be what they termed a ‘glory hunter’.
This got me thinking. Especially after a recent post by someone who implied season ticket holders had more authority to speak on the club matters, so to say. What terms a true fan?
Is a true fan he who supports his local club only? What then of those who don’t have a local club to support?
Or is a true fan he who goes to the match week in week out singing his hearts out for the club? But what then of those who financially or physically can’t? What then of those who sing their hearts out at their local club wherever that might be? And surely the sacrifices of Asians who are up till 4 am on a work day to support the club commendable?
Or is a true fan he who loves the club simply because they win and through their success he might be able to live his own? This is what I thought ‘glory hunter’ meant. It seems to me a travesty that people only talk about Maradona, Pele and now Messi as contenders for the best of all. George Best certainly deserves debating if not the title itself. Seems to me the talent of United are oddly always under appreciated.

I work in the TV industry to be precise. I oversee the programming of 3 cable channels that go out to Latin America. It’s a fun job to be honest. Having TVs in my office have allowed me to watch midweek games that air at noon in LA. So that’s the biggest perk.
About the game, it was dissapointing seeing us drop points like that, but on the bigger scheme of things, seeing Scholesy move the ball around was simply priceless
