  1. Toms says:

    He’s looking more and more like a very very promising signing. I quite like him I think.

  2. Kev Kev says:

    Hes gonna be a star!!!!!!!

  3. lidija says:

    wellcome to the squad lad, he’ll do it at OT, Sir will pollish him some more

  4. Colbert says:

    I don’t think i’ve seen a quicker turn. And then his balance and finish tops off a brilliant goal. Young Owen in the making? We can only hope. Very promising.

  5. Rooney's Middle Finger says:

    He’s our new michael owen, and we also have the old one lol

    But seriously, he seems to be such a fantastic talent that now i’m on the verge of thinking that we might not need to sign any more strikers this sumer.

    i don’t want to be too carried away though

  6. vishnu1729 says:

    praise SAF for finding this talent…he will surely cut it in old traffored.A new star in the making!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    ough its a great goal.

  7. Rooney's Middle Finger says:

    @ colbert

    exacltly what i was thinking, just fogot to refresh the page before commenting :D

  8. Callum says:

    reminds me more of solskjaer than owen. really good at creating space for himself. not many strikers can do that, milito is probably the best at the moment but solskjaer was the master at it

  9. Rick says:

    I just hope he gets plenty of opportunities rather than reserving him and keeping him on the bench.
    Class player thought and well taken goal.

  10. Fze123 says:

    He was very impressive today, and what an absolutely cracking goal. Scored against France and against an Argentinian defence that hasn’t conceded plenty, it can’t get better than that.

    If he started every game then he’d probably have scored more, what a shame. Cannot wait to see him play for us, he’s ready for the first team.

  11. ah yeh says:

    sweet left foot eh? and full of humility, i like this guy, way too good to not play often

  12. Paul Parker says:

    Keeper / Defenders didn’t stand a chance, great anticipation of what he was gonna do with the ball as soon as he received it at his feet. He created that chance out of nothing, he had his back to goal, surrounded by defenders. Vision and Execution. Brilliant.

    Until he gets here he can only score against the team in front of him, so I think he’s proved his worth already. Brilliant little player, you’ll never see Vela score like that. England are lucky Hernandez didn’t start that game at Wembly or we would have seen his first goal in on these shores !!

  13. ross says:

    now get alexis Sanchez & were ready for the rentboys & shitee

  14. willierednut says:

    Lets not label the kid the new Ole, or owen. He’s the new Hernandez and hopefully he’s gonna be a big hit at United. I will say one thing though, he should be ahead of Berba next season, he’s shown enough already to suggest he’s ready to make his mark in the premiership.

  15. ibrza says:

    now all we need is someone who can pass him the ball from the midfield…
    sneijder anyone

  16. Fze123 says:

    Barrera was awesome today. Good enough to play for a European club imo.

  17. Colbert says:

    @Rooney’s middle finger

    Great minds….! :)

  18. Costas says:

    Lets give the lad time though lads. He is in a familiar environment right now and things could be harder for him next year. I hope he adapts quickly. He has the tools, no doubt.

  19. Paul Parker says:

    Brazil v Chile tomorrow that should be another great match, what about Portugal v Spain? All my Pork and Cheese mates reckon they’ll win, even without Nani. I for one hope they do im not particulary keen on the Spanish, is it un-PC to say that these days? “I don’t like those bloody Spaniards” lmao.

    ok thats enough football for one, gloriously sunny day. Adios fellas.

  20. Rooney SA says:

    Welcome chicharito.Our gaffer will make u a better strike partner with me. Good luck.

  21. Sketch says:

    I agree, he should start for us. I really dont want him to be another Tosic or Rossi.
    Him and Rooney up front could be a new force. I still have a soft spot for Berba, and just wish that Fergie can find a place for him in our starting 11. Maybe Berba can play in the Kaka role? Attacking midfield?
    Anyway, cant wait for the new season to start. This World cup is slowly turning into a joke and I really have no interest now, I mean thats three united players on the plane. The Argie cunts against the Germans would be an interesting match though.

  22. green and gold till they die or fold says:

    I know ,everyone is talking now about Hernandez but anyone shares me the opinion,that this lad pablo Barrera is awesome……He’s a super winger in my opinion and the Argie could do absolutely nothing to stop him…

  23. lucas says:

    I see No.7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    So what if he’s fast and has an eye for goal blah blah blah who cares

    all i care about is he kicked the bollox out heinze in the match , mostly the first half
    because of that the kid is a legend in my book

  25. Costas says:

    Chicarito is a red, he hates wannabe scousers. :D

  26. bigphil2003 says:

    Wonder how much more he would have cost if we waited til now. Fergie’s a genius! Would have been some bidding war for the lad.

  27. Gary says:

    What an absolutely cracking goal. I like the look of this kid but lets not get too carried away though he may take time to settle. Also I’m wondering how much we will see of him next season? I’m not sure where he fits in with way United play now with 5 in midfield. Unless we sign a top class centre midfielder I don’t see the formation changing because Fergie knew last season that United are not as strong as we used to be in the centre of the park that’s why he compensates by packing the midfield.

  28. RedScot says:

    @ big phil, I am very drunk, yer spot on , mate, thats the vision. well said.
    I gotta go an make up some song.

  29. BenUtd says:

    When I heard we signed Hernandez, I thought it’ll be another striker to get to the back of the line, but he looks like a real quality player with bags of potential.

    I’m very excited about him next season.

  30. bigphil2003 says:

    @redscot – lmao. I’m sure you aren’t the only drunk scotsman tonight!

  31. RedScot says:

    @ Big phil it aint in my heart to laugh ( to laugh at misery)
    i just wanted Wayne to shine, and sadly he didna, end off

  32. ap says:

    if we cant beat them then sign them aka Mesut Özil of germany young and can replace scholes

  33. Fze123 says:

    He’s scored both of his goals when paired with another striker, he doesn’t seem like a player who can lead the line in a 4-5-1. I say stick him up top with Rooney behind as the second striker. With Hargo hopefully back in the team along with Fletch our back 4 is protected, we can afford to go 4-4-2.

  34. RedScot says:

    @ Fze 123, let me take you home, i would love you, you talk sense.
    Bonsoir lads, Keep it Red
    Believe

  35. Gudjohnsen says:

    Awesome skill and finish by the lad. Looks more and more promising. Good job Fergie signing him up before the World Cup, probably saved us a few pounds.

    Hernandez seems to be a born goalscorer, the classic number 9 as they say. Just wait till we see him getting more service from players like Valencia and Nani.

  36. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    if we didnt get him before the weekend and went for him tomorrow we would over been out priced by that bitter blue side

    Sir Alex to be made a Lord in my book

  37. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    fabinaho to united?????pipe dream in my mind but head but im cheering for him cause unless ive forgot someone which i really dont think i have, thats it for united in the world cup.

  38. tommy taylor says:

    As soon as I saw Hernandez cart Heinze over the touchline I thought

    GHTT will have something to say about that lol

  39. Fze123 says:

    Thanks RedScot, I am flattered by the offer, though you don’t seem to be talking any sense yourself at the moment, so I wont take that at face value, lol.

  40. Kevin says:

    I hope we can possible sign Sanchez. Sounds like he wants to be at Old Trafford next year. Maybe if Chile is knocked out we well see him join up sooner rather then later and hopefully Udinese doesn’t drive up the price beyond 20 million.

  41. Drew Vader says:

    Only thing I haven’t liked about the lad from the little I’ve seen so far is that he waives imaginary yellows after almost every time he’s fouled. I hate that and hopefully he will cut it out when he’s wearing our shirt. Other than that though, very impressive.

  42. pibe says:

    @Drew Vader.. i’ve noticed that too, don’t worry thats the mexican inside him, nothing Sir Alex can’t fix

  43. Los Angeles Red says:

    There is a massive C.D. Chivas following here in Southern California so it’s exciting to see a player I’m already very familiar with going to the club where my heart lies..

    VAMOS CHICHARITO!!!
    VAMOS UNITED!!!!!

  44. ozzy says:

    Bring that lanky boy Pogba in.. he’s the future juggernaut in the middle of the park that bring fears to our opponents eyes.

  45. Josh-2b-King says:

    I would like Alexis Sanchez to supply the balls to the Roo-Chik tandem.

  46. mhihrh says:

    Good to see. he makes some very intelligent runs. Fabiano would be great but surely we will have to sell Berbatov if we get him. cant have 5 strikers in the team. wont mind that honestly because both are nearly of the same age and Berbatov is past his peak while Fabiano is in his peak. Sorry berba

  47. pibe says:

    take a look at him on a red shirt already..
    http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=5764056&id=509148124

  48. Tinko says:

    Is his left foot stronger or he plays with both?

  49. Macheda IS GOD says:

    Thats just like drogba on a turn…eek

  50. Macheda IS GOD says:

    Now all we need is someone like van der vaart.
    Fletcher can’t do it alone and scholes isn’t getting any younger!

  51. nsc mufc says:

    hopefully he will do get a good chance with wazza and the good thing that all the unitedd players are out of World cup is because now they all have rest enough so they can return in the beginning of the season and not miss any matches on world cup break

  52. Androo says:

    THis lad has got some SERIOUS talent.

  53. dela says:

    Brilliant pace. Brilliant turn. Brilliant finish.

    Who needs Fabiano?

  54. catotraa says:

    Actualy, that’s one of the best quality goals of the WC this far!

  55. dela says:

    @Drew Vader
    I noticed it too. I hope Sir Alex puts him straight.

  56. Macheda IS GOD says:

    catotraaa.
    Got to admit tho..the whore really pulled the bunny out of the hat yesterday.

  57. sayyid says:

    Team for next year???

    VDS

    Rafa Rio Evans Evra

    Fletch Hargeeaves

    Valenica Berbatov Rooney

    Hernandez

  58. Costas says:

    @sayyid

    No Rooney on the left mate. That’s Capello’s job. It’s tough to say one team in particular, especially when you consider fitness issues and the level of your opposition. In my opinion, we will see a lot of 4-5-1 again with the our strongest team being this:

    VDS – Rafael, Evans, Vidic, Evra – Valencia, Fletcher, Hargo, Anderson, Nani – Rooney

  59. mhihrh says:

    @Sayyid

    WTF. No nani?. i would remove berbatov and play Rooney behind Hernandez.. Also i have doubt about Hargreaves and his fitness so maybe Anderson would slot in well there, if he stays that is

  60. Costas says:

    By the way, if United are a one man team with Rooney, then why can’t he come to England’s rescue in the same manner? Basic logic…

    United are not a one man team. Glad that crap is out of the way.

  61. Corea says:

    Costas – hey! check your email.

  62. sayyid says:

    @Costas

    England are so overrated

    Gerrard is only good because of the like of Torres and Mascharano

    Lampard looks good for Chelsea becuase of Drogba and Essien

    Upson..whats he doing in the team..he is garbage

    Glen Johnson…has never been able to defend and will never be able to

    Terry..showed his class at the WC

    Barry ahead of Carrick…what a disgrace..he wasnt even fit

    Milner…im glad we arent gonna spend 30m on him. I thought he would be a good buy but he turned out to be so slow

    England team for Euros should be (not being biased)

    Hart

    Brown Rio Smalling Cole

    Hargreaves Carrick

    Walcott Rooney Johnson

    Owen

  63. Tony Starks says:

    @costas – excellent last point about one-man team, but you can be sure it will start again when new season begins…

    speaking of rooney, i can’t help but feel he came back too soon from his United injury, he just didn’t have that burst off the mark he usually has… lest hope he gets a big rest, I don’t mind if he misses start of season as long as he comes back 100% fit

    (…not getting too carried away by chicarito eben though he looks the part, i remember manucho killin it in the african cup…)

  64. Tony Starks says:

    by the way according to FIFA stats he was the fastest player in the world cup so far – chicarito that is…
    courtesy of guardian WC podcast, which is quite good

  65. willojay26 says:

    I can see this lad doing well and scoring goals if really given the opportunity to start games…Can anyone join me to campaign for SAF to sign Abede Ayewu from Ghana?…This lad is fantastic.

  66. mhihrh says:

    He may be the fastest player and that is a great thing becaue he is quick but those are stats for the group stages and he didnt start any of those games

  67. dela says:

    @Sayyid
    How could you leave out Nani? I’d rather go in for a 4-4-2 with Chicharito coming on as a sub for Berba, a la Solksjaer.

  68. sayyid says:

    @dela

    Im glad we have so many good players in “reserve” as well such as Nani, Anderson, Carrick, Giggs, Park, Macheda etc etc

  69. exiledred says:

    The other bnonus with this kid is that he seems to play naturally off the main striker. This means we can keep Rooney where he wants to play and this kid can drop a little deeper. His pace is frightening though. I can’t remember the last time we had an out and out striker with such pace – I’m excluding Ronaldo as he was a winger.

    He is young though and will obviously take time to adapt to Manchester life but a forward line of Roponey, Hernandez, Vanecia and Nani looks really exciting to me.

  70. Tony Starks says:

    … my bit on England… am I the only one who can’t understand all the over the top reactions to england’s exit? I just thought they were tactically naive being too attacking in second half and lost 2 goals on the counter… defensively poor but otherwise if it was 2-2 the game could have been different..

    anyway enough about england, we can enjoy the rest of the worldcup safe in the knowledge that United players are getting a nice rest… (or maybe [potentially] some are still playing!)

  71. Passe_Mouraille says:

    Just thought I would leave this here… http://i50.tinypic.com/2m4osb8.gif

  72. Costas says:

    @sayyid

    It’s tough to say they are overrated. I hear that a lot since yesterday. I still feel that individually, England are better than Germany. Unfortunately, Germany have operated under one system since Klinsmann took over in 2004, while England have changed 3 managers and haven’t learned to play as a team. That was the difference imo. Plus, I think it’s time that some of the “Golden Generation” got phased out simply because they are reaching the point of burning out and have nothing to offer anymore.

    @tony starks

    I am afraid so as well mate. Hopefully with people like Nani and Valencia stepping up even more next season, they will give the press no choice but to drop the one man team crap. It would also be nice if the likes of Chicarito, Owen and Berba shared goalscoring duties with Rooney.

  73. Costas says:

    @Passe_Mouraille

    Haha! Super Ladyboy Kart.

  74. Passe_Mouraille says:

    Costas;
    Yeah, it’s quite epic. The worst part though is how most Looserpool fans try and justify his diving antics and claim he was fouled.

  75. Costas says:

    Speaking of United players at a World Cup, this is the first time since the 94 tournament when the quarter finals will be without any Man United players. Even though I am glad that our lads will recharge their batteries now, I wanted some of them to get some recognition in this WC. It just didn’t click for any of them. Out of our players, Hernandes will probably have the fondest memories from South Africa

    @Passe_Mouraille

    Of course. In their minds only Ronaldo and Rooney dive…

  76. joe_ro says:

    Not undermine the quality of the African Nations, but it’s not on the same level as the World Cup. You always here the age old argument of ‘Can he perform at the highest level?’ Well, Hernandez has and has scored two goals to solidify that claim.

    There is no doubt in my that he has the quality, I just hope he has the adaptability to perform in the Premier League.

  77. 0161-Jon says:

    world class goal, made yesterday a little easier to swallow.

  78. arijc says:

    The England result just highlights the demise of the rigid 4-4-2 system.

  79. Gorse Hill Red says:

    Just goes to show that Ingerland are a one man team relying on Rooney for their goals. No question that Rooney was half fit and obvious to anyone that he has not recovered form his ankle injury.

    Watch the press and the Ingerand fans blame Rooney. The same Ingerland fans that celebrated when Rooney (and Ferdinand ) was injured and the same lot that wanted him to play well in the World Cup. Ingerland and the Ingerland fans got what they deserve.

  80. Marq says:

    The problem with England was evidently clear. Germany had 2 youngster causing havoc in the shape of Muller and Ozil. Who did England have?

  81. roadkill4u says:

    Good morning all.

    Devastating weekend as I went 0-4 on teams I wanted to advance but still saw some great footy.

    A couple of thing I like about Hernandez are his age, ability to play off a main striker, ability to strike the ball with either foot and his pace. OMG, this kid is fast and really knows how to handle the ball. His goal yesterday was pure class. Great handling of the ball with his first touch and then a great strike.

    On the age side, he has gotten a lot of first team ball unlike our younger in-house strikers and that will hopefully help him as he settles into his new environment. He is not coming in here as an 18 year old with eyes bulging but rather as a 22 yr old who has the confidence of starting and playing in the WC.

    I am excited about our attacking abilities going forward on the fast break this coming year. Will remind me of a couple of years ago when we would come out of the back with Ronaldo, Nani and Rooney and the opposing midfielders were left gasping for breath.

    (rose colored glasses on) Sign Ozil and it would be some very fast paced futbol. (rose colored glasses now off)

    Enjoy the rest of the Cup.

  82. Tony Starks says:

    anyone know when pre-season training starts?

  83. arijc says:

    @Tony Starks
    I think its July 5.

  84. bchilds says:

    I must admit he’s had a good world cus, pleased for the lad. Hopefully he’ll get plenty of game time in the coming season.

  85. dela says:

    I understand Fergie’s thing for wingers, but I really don’t really fancy a move for Muller. Or even Sanchez, for that matter, though I haven’t seen the Chilean can play down the middle and am told he does a fairly decent job there as well.

    Ozil would be an incredible signing, though he’d probably cost upwards of 20 million.

    I

  86. Mhihrh says:

    Wayne rooney lost the ball or was tackled in posession more than any other player at the world cup. Who was that imposter in the no 10
    england jersey who couldnt even control or pass a ball?

  87. Muggaz says:

    @dela

    he would be worth every penny at £20mil. I know I come here often and lambast fans for telling Fergie to buy this or that player, but Ozil is the exact type of player I wish Anderson would become… a skillful player who can control the ball in the mid-field with a cracking shot to boot… he would look mighty fine in Manchester!

    I digress… I doubt Fergie will be going in for him after a no doubt excellent world cup inflates his price – worth £20mil easily, but not any more…

  88. pbul2004 says:

    Luis Fabiano to United? – Has come out and said it would be a dream (actual quotes)
    http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/fabiano-and-rooney-a-dream-strike-force-for-united?

    Alexis Sanchez to United? – Apparently come out and said all he wants to do it play for United?
    http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/39968/All_Alexis_wants_is_to_play_for_Manchester_United.aspx

    Exciting to think of

  89. rat1p says:

    i doubt werder would even consider to sell özil

  90. Chep says:

    Scott, you put just a fact of a gol video, but what is your opinion? not sure why, but now I just would like to see your point of vew.
    mine is that the boy is something. he needs to prove himself, but looks like a big talent indeed. I like his style and feeling excited to see him in our shirt

  91. Costas says:

    Yeah a manager is saying that we shouldn’t critisize another manager. How convenient. The players are at fault, but so is Capello.

    Anyway, with the Dutch winning, that makes it 3 out of 5 predictions for me. If Brazil get past Chile, I feel that it will be quite an even contest with Holland.

  92. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    Capello said he will never pick names he’ll only pick players on league for

    today he said he watched the premiership to see which places were playing at the best of there game

    how fuckin stupid, that h’s still saying that when Bent never went. portsmouth went down but there keeper got the number 1 shirt stevie me did fuck all this season, and bent played with lesser service into the box than almost every striker in the league, he scored left right and centre and yet he watched england fail from a beach somewhere

  93. Corea says:

    GHTT – agreed. he faced the dilemma but chose to be too academic.

  94. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    Costa
    why the fuck did carrick go

  95. Costas says:

    @GHTT

    Well, there was a shortage of midfielders wasn’t there? The choice was between Huddlestone, Parker and Carrick and I think that Carrick was rightfully on the plane to South Africa. Huddlestone finished the season in better form than Carrick, but Capello might have thought that he didn’t need another slow midfielder. The question I have is why Carrick didn’t play 1 freaking minute. Ok, his form dipped since April, but he did very well for England against Egypt.

    But he didn’t make his decisions based on form. That’s ludicrous. Heskey and SWP were chosen ahead of Bent and Johnson, so it had little to do with form. And if Hargo had played 2-3 full games, he would have taken him too. I also heard Capello blame the tiredness of the players. Well, I don’t remember anyone telling him to use Rooney against Egypt for 83 minutes. That’s where his injury problems started and in the end it came back to haunt him.

  96. mhihrh says:

    wow. Thats Germany Vs. Argentina and Holland vs. Brazil. 2 cracking games. Both the dutch and Brazil havent been entertaining but very effective in getting the job done. Looking at Holland and the seasons they have had for their clubs just shows once again how wrong madrid were to let Sneijder and Robben go.

  97. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    @Costa

    I dont think carrick should of went , his from was muck and his convidence was down- im not hating im just pointing out what i seen in the second half of the season, but when he brought carrick i taught about the stevie me lumpard “problem” that he was gonna carrick and barry more. but he didnt i think he brought him because hes a manchester united player and he had to go.

    the difference between germany and england is england picked aload of players
    germany picked a team

  98. Costas says:

    @GHTT

    I won’t disagree with that. It was a way to balance things. Chelsea had 3-4 players, Liverpool had 3-4 players and United should have the same. And I won’t disagree about Carrick’s form. However, since you pick a player with Carrick’s experience, why let him rot on the bench? I’ve never understood this obsession with Barry. Did Ozil have to embarass him like that yesterday for Capello to realise that he has other options?

  99. MG says:

    Costas GHTT

    Good evening (nearly) gentlemen

    And to you all

    : )

    No matter what anyone says – I still don’t get why the England national team had no spring in there step – a smile on each and every one of those doom and gloom faces – a rallying cry from senior members of the team to galvanise the team to go forward.

    There are a lot of things wrong with England – some of them are rooted in history repeating itself and the FA not having the balls to change the game in this country forever.

    But not having the togetherness to come together since we all know most of them are friends etc despite the differences at club level is just bewildering.

    Something somewhere behind the scenes between management and players went wrong and we will never know.

  100. willierednut says:

    Sayyid – keanos bang on the money with that one. English players always have an excuse when they fail at a tournament, the bottom line is there not fooking good enough.

  101. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    @MG Hello

    @costa thats what i was talking about with carrick, why did he bing him if his form was mind set was poor only that he had a tactical reason for- but it wasnt it was pointless

    also Im wearing a black united jersey today out of a mark of respect for the dead

    4-4-2 football R.I.P. 1848-2010

  102. Costas says:

    @MG

    Hi mate. I hope you are well. I agree that it also has to do with the players and the mentality with which they approached this tournament.

    @GHTT

    Haha. Bugt then again what was Capello playing anyway? It didn’t seem like 4-4-2. We rarely saw Rooney play next to Defoe or Heskey. He was either playing behind them or on the wing. That’s 2 World Cups now that Rooney hasn’t enjoyed simply because managers opt to use him waste him. If somethig died yesterday, hopefully it’s the notion that Lampard and Gerrard can play together.

  103. Costas says:

    *managers opt to waste him*

  104. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    i think rooneys problem is pretty simple

    when emily was 7 months old id to go to wigan for 5 days to a work thing

    id smurf and my young kid at home that i made my life , and i missed them so much i just could get my head focused i just wanted to go home

  105. huzi says:

    a start of a song for chicharito:
    que sera sera
    whatever will be will be
    hes our little pea.
    lol thats the best i could come up with. you guys can add or improve on that

    Does anyone else think that Bradley from the US would be great cover for Fletch and Hargo?? I was very surprised by his game. He’s playing in the German B and would be very cheap. Just a thought….

    @benb
    I mentioned it on another thread myself. Bradley has been brilliant- he is a brilliant tackler and a fantastic passer. Plus he’s only 21, so he can only get better.

  111. Moscow is my heaven says:

    His goal reminds me of Drogba’s at Old Trafford. Except he legitimately raped his defender and smashed it cleanly into the top corner.

  115. RedScot says:

    @ Willie lol. Luis Fabiano yet again

  116. willierednut says:

    RedScot – Sign him up!!

  117. RedScot says:

    On topic I just read on the Fifa 2010 world cup site, Javier hernandez is the fastest player in the world cup to date, hitting a top speed of 32.15 Km/h
    Slightly ahead of Avraam Papadopoulos and Konstantinos and a very nippy Kehbab.

  118. willierednut says:

    This Brazillan team are not as open as previous Brazil teams, but there every beat as clinical. Our man Fabiano doing the business again, love to see him at United.

    Not as bad as the England team getting there ass kicked – ouch!

    How are you my friend – weather keeping you healthy : ) Can’t believe it’s so hot in England! Though there appears to be some clouds at the moment!

    @willierednut

    Well buddy he has an eye for goal that’s for sure!

    I just wonder what an impact Javier will have – I thought he was outstanding yesterday – If he was Argentinian or Brazilian he’d be drooled over…

  120. MG says:

    BTW that was Luis Fabiano with regards to having an eye for goal!

  121. Moscow is my heaven says:

    willierednut

    That would mean Berba, our clinical striker, would have to be dropped :O

  122. dela says:

    Chicharito > Fabiano.

    Just kidding. Even so, I don’t want to see the Brazilian at OT. Not at the cost of Berbatov.

  123. willierednut says:

    MG – I’m already drooling over hernandez, looks like the genius has done it again.

  124. willierednut says:

    Moscow – I think even if he stays, he’ll be a bit part player next season.

  125. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    just think how much we paid for hernandez and if we didnt how much the little red pea would cost today

  126. RedScot says:

    @GHTT, Thats the point mate, doing your buisness before the WC, not during it or immediately after.
    Ask yourself the same question regards Oezil, he was unheard of in truth before this WC, I think he cost Werder Bremen 2.5 million, Barcelon are now sniffing around him, and you know they will likely offer around 30 million or there or thereabouts.
    All credit to the scouting system at Old trafford.

  127. willierednut says:

    GHTT – He took both his goals well and looks comfortable on either foot.

  128. willierednut says:

    I’m not sure where Ozil would fit in at Barca, i’d be surprised if Bayern weren’t interested in him.

  134. willierednut says:

    We wish we could afford Iniesta lol.

  135. mhihrh says:

    good to see Hernandez do well but lets not get carried away. he isnt a proven goal scorer like luis Fabiano at the top level.No doubt he looks a great buy but we should judge him after his performances in the United shirt hoping he can replicate the performances he gave in the world cup. As for Fabiano if he comes either Berbatov or owen has to go. cant have 5 strikers and Kiko and Welbeck, so that makes it seven

  136. willierednut says:

    Ah Ole, now there was a finisher.

  137. mhihrh says:

  146. RedScot says:

    @ GHTT, Awhhhh, Christ you know me bye now surely love a little wind up and tease to get a reaction.

  148. willierednut says:

  149. RedScot says:

    @ Dela, lmao, spot on

  150. Costas says:

    Guys, Gilberto isn’t a flashy player, but Dunga seems to trust him a lot. It’s an area that Brazil have problems with. Just think that Kleberson is in the squad. He is still great for the Greek league, but I do wonder how he will fair against a midfield like Germany or Argentina’s.

    @MG

    The weather is surprisingly cool over here. No heat waves as of yet and it has already rained 4-5 times in June alone. I don’t think that it has rained 4-5 times in the last 5 Greek summers in total! The climate is getting crazier than Capello…

  151. Ulster Red says:

    The chilleans had no balls when it mattered most, goodbye.
    also fancy the brazilans to beat holland with not to much difficulty, they were average at best agaisnt slovakia who are shite lets be honest…even though they beat my country in the qualifiers lol

  152. RedScot says:

    Fabio Capello, Postman Pat

  153. MG says:

    @Costas

    I concur – the weather in England too is getting crazier than Capello

    The weather – a saving grace!

  154. Costas says:

    So Kleberson came on, just as I turned off my tv. Nice.

  155. Corea says:

    Costas – it has been raining for a whole week now at my place. really strange weather.

  158. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    Kleberson – super now i have my 10 players who played for united and are in this world cup

    anyone else dare to guess

  159. Costas says:

    @Corea

    A whole week? At the end of June? Madness. Over here, it only rains everytime I get out of the house. :(

    @willierednut

    I have been known to make stupid predictions from time to time, but that’s probably our final…

  160. RedScot says:

    @ Willie I was checking the weather situations throughout the world, I agree, but the Argies are fast and there weakness is defence, its gonna be a cracking game whatever.
    How very dare you however right off Holland and Germany.
    There is gonna be a slip up, mark my words.
    Cmon the Cloggies, decieve them then hit them.

  161. Corea says:

    Costas – yes. it was 38 degrees 2 weeks ago for some days and whole week of rain and 16 degrees afterwards.

    Mhihrh – oh dear. so complicated.

  162. Costas says:

    @GHTT

    Tevez, Ronaldo, Veron, Heinze, Kleberson, Forlan, Howard and who else? I am stuck!

  163. willierednut says:

    Costas – That would be the dream final, but both have very tough games before we come to that stage.

  164. dela says:

    @GHTT
    I’ll have a go at that.

    Carlos the whore, Veron, Heinze, Forlan, Kleberson, CR7, Pique… and then I’m lost.

    You mean players in the quarter-finals, don’t you?

  165. Costas says:

    Dela is right. Pique is the 8th guy. 2 more…

  166. Toms says:

    Being linked with Fabiano is pretty flattering. Right now it’s kidn of the feeling you get when you’ve not been dating super attractive girls but an older beaut asks you out. The chemistry probably isn’t there and it’s probably not the best relationship… but damn does her interest make you feel good.

    Sanchez looks very nice. Honestly I am still not sold on Valencia. He’s a better lennon… idk Cristiano’s flair spoilt me. Valencia is great and he was a good buy… but sanchez would be an improvement imo. He’s looked very tidy, boy can stop on a dime.

  167. RedScot says:

    Fucking Brilliant the lads singing on the telly, I bow my head to you, marvelous sing sing Africa, magic.

  169. Corea says:

    Jonathan SPECTOR

  170. Mhihrh says:

    Dont forget own goal.he is challenging for top honours too. ;-)

  171. willierednut says:

    I knew that wasn’t aig, dam shame about that boy.

  172. Costas says:

    @Mhihrh

    I think GHTT is talking about players from all 32 teams. Not from those that are currently in it.

    @Corea

    Lol, I didn’t even know that Spector was at the WC! That’s the 9th one.

  173. Costas says:

    Is it possible that the 10th ex United player that GHTT is refering to is Tosic?

  174. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    AIG ITS THE WHOLE 32 TEAMS FROM THE START

  175. Corea says:

    Costas – yeah, he played a couple of minutes

  176. dela says:

    Shouldn’t we be counting Rooney, Carrick and Evra as well?

  177. Moscow is my heaven says:

    I don’t know if it’s right, but I think we should give Chicharito No 9 for next season.

  178. Costas says:

    @Corea

    Good for him then. I liked Spector. He was unlucky because Heinze came to the club just as he was emerging.

    @dela

    It’s about former United players.

  179. Corea says:

    Costas – actually it was the answer to your Tosic post ) agree with you, i thought he had a chance.

  180. Costas says:

    @GHTT

    We could even make a team mate. All we need is a defender:

    Howard

    Spector, Pique, – , Heinze

    Ronaldo, Kleberson, Veron, Tosic

    Forlan, Tevez

    Looks good. ;)

  181. Costas says:

    @Corea

    Ah ok. I got confused. I didn’t watch the USA games and I didn’t know if Spector played or not. Oh well. Maybe in 2014. Tosic did ok against Australia from what I saw.

  182. Corea says:

    Costas – lol. i’ve heard Spector’s name during one of their games.

  183. Costas says:

    Actually, given that Ireland should have qualified, we could put Paul McShane as Pique’s defensive partner.

  184. willierednut says:

    I heard the England players were watching the film, out of Africa, on the plane home.

  185. willierednut says:

    Di Maria has signed for Madrid.

  186. Costas says:

    @willierednut

    Yeah, seems like it’s final. Oh well. One more ruined. In 3-4 years time he will be making a name for himself at another club like Robben, Sneijder, etc etc…

  187. willierednut says:

    All the talk about Benfica looking 40 million euros, he went for 25 million euros.

  188. dela says:

    Tosic kept shooting when he should have passed. I was slightly disappointed when he left but I can see why Fergie didn’t consider him first-team material.

  189. Costas says:

    Look at the equation willierednut:

    United show interest in him = Shity show interest in him = Price tag gets inflated from 25 to 40 million. :P

    Seriously, he hasn’t exactly set the world alight so far, so maybe Benfica thought that now is a good time for them to cash in on him. Milner will end up costing more, lol.

  190. willierednut says:

    Thats even if our interest was real. Looks like VDV is on his way out, maybe United.

  191. Fze123 says:

    Brazil are one tough nut to crack, despite the lack of flair their passes are still sublime and can tear a team apart with one move. Overall a balanced, solid powerful team. Enjoyed watching Chile this year, it’s refreshing to watch a fearless attacking physical side, who troubled Spain, of all teams. I would love to see the Germans sending cunts like Tevez and Heinze out; a Germany-Brazil final please.

  192. Moscow is my heaven says:

    If Di Maria is 25 million, then Nani is £60 million. Fuck him, we have quality wingers who will be educated in the art of greatness. His future is fucked a la Benzema.

  193. Fze123 says:

    Don’t understand why Real would go for Di Maria. First of all we didn’t bid for him first, second of all he isn’t the typical pretty player who Real traditionally go for, third of all he hasn’t been impressive at all for the Argies, but then again Real just buy every attacking player around.

    I live in Los Angeles where there are lots of Mexicans. I’ve been talking to some of them lately and Hernandez is a hero to them. They tell me I should be very excited that he’s coming to United.
    They pretty much all admire United too by the way. It’s generally felt that he’ll be great with Rooney – not the Rooney that plays with England (they generally laugh at England), but the real – Rooney, United’s Rooney.

  196. obertanthenewstar says:

    dela.. the reason serbia scored is because tosic kept shooting.. if u dnt shoot u dont score.. and he never had better passing options so i dont know where you got that from… tosic should have been given a chance at o.t mate… sucks that he didnt but oh well

  198. Marq says:

    Read somewhere alternative suggestions to goal-line technology. Just replace the turf behind the goal line to sand, problem solved. LoL. Funny but not exactly a stupid idea, cost next to nothing and might actually work!

  199. denton davey says:

    Ozul is the most “attractive” player on display – for sale ? – at this year’s WC. He’s probably already been gift-wrapped for Bayern Munich.

    Chicharito is the best ‘striker” I’ve seen who would be considered as a possible recruit for UTD – to my eyes, he’s been better than both Suarez of Uruguay/Ajax or Sanchez of Udinese/Chile.

    Fortunately, Chicharito has already been signed, sealed, and delivered to UTD. For what would now be about one-third of his market-price.

    BUT there’s a problem – where will he play ? I doubt that we will see SAF set the team up in a 4-4-2 in any important matches. Obviously, anyone with a particle of footballing intelligence saw that WayneRooney is simply NOT a support striker or an attacking midfielder – he just too undiscplined. So, in any big match, SAF will play some version of a 4-3-3 – as he recognized a few years ago, when the whirligig of Ronaldo/Rooney/Tevez were playing magically, the 4-4-2 is yesterday’s news. (one of the reasons Ingerland got beaten so easily – and so often – on the break by the Germans was because they played the “English” system with crappy defensive midfielders).

    So, while I am thrilled with the signing/transfer of Chicharito, I still think that he’s not really any kind of answer to UTD’s big off-season issue. UTD’s midfield needs probably one seriously-good defensive midfielder since Anderson is a huge question-mark and Owen Hargreaves is unlikely to ever return to proper, full fitness. Paul Scholes isn’t any younger; Michael Carrick is unlikely to get more assertive; and so on with all of the midfielders except for Darren Fletcherinho (football genius).

    Brazil have shown that a team with two defensive midfielders and a box-to-box partner can make it hard to break down – and they have three attacking players who aren’t better than on-form WayneRooney/Nani/Valencia. Sure, Kaka/Luis Fabiano/Robinho are all good but they aren’t super-men in a different class. What Brazil showed against Argentina a couple of years ago in the Copa America was that an efficientily organized 4-3-3 is a tough-nut for even the most skilled opposition to break down. And, let’s not forget that the middle “3″ is composed of the aged Gilberto Silva, the Juventus-failure Felipe Melo, and the ManShitty-failure Elano. These guys aren’t supermen – and they are backed by Kleberson (yes, that guy !).

    If you don’t think that SAF – and other managers like Jose Mourinho – “went to school” on Dunga’s dismantling of Argentina in 2008 then you’re hopelessly out-of-touch with rthe reality of contemporary trends in the world’s game.

    And so, to square the circle, that’s why Chicharito isn’t going to set the OldTraffordWorld on fire because he;s not good enough to unseat WayneRooney as the main strker while WayneRooney isn’t “adaptable” or “disciplined” to be the “Wesley Sneijder/Elano” of a NewUTD as the attacking midfielder in a 4-3-3.

    So, we come back to the question of the midfield – and the lack of reliable quality behind – and beside – Darren Fletcherinho (football genius)…… I may be repeating myself but that doesn’t mean it’s not true.

  200. Vinay says:

    @ Marq

    Goalkeepers will then complain about sand in their shorts and hair :)

    @ Denton Davey

    You never know, after Rooney’s injury in march, he hasn’t been the same player and coming from a very bad world cup, he will pretty much have to start from scratch in terms of confidence. Chicharito may well get a run in the side at the start of the season, and he does look technically gifted and tricky. United can and do play a 4-4-2 against most premiership teams, but I agree that it is a long abandoned system for the bigger and the champions league games. And so Chicharito will have to satisfy himself with a place on the bench for those games, just like Berbatov.

    The big question mark of our season is definitely Anderson. If he can fill the creative midfielder role, then we will have a proper team.

    But isn’t Hargreaves finally fit? If he is it will make a big difference. I think Sir Alex will give one more season to him and then to both Anderson and Berbatov.

  201. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    still on the england world cup exit thingi have another question

    why is sky sports news talking and going into detail about how england was too old and they need youth and the premiership has alot of youth and here they are and this is how bright there future is——- and the bit i dont understand is why is this a hugh factor as to were they failed but turning back time 4 years a reason why england failed was bringing walcott cause hes ,althou has a bright future, is an unproven youth

  202. Rai says:

    David James has come out and said the reason Rooney didn’t perform was because he was marked out of the games…..what a load of hillocks. Rooney didn’t perform because he hasn’t fully recovered from
    injury, he had a long season of carrying the expectations of the United fans then went unfit into the world cup carrying the expections of the country….only difference
    is he’s not playing with anything like the standard he’s got around him
    at United.

  203. arijc says:

    @denton davey
    I think Chicharito will get his chance on either side of Rooney (in the 4-3-3) or as the central striker if Rooney is not in the team. He has the pace to give opposition defenses a major headache in either scenario.
    Sanchez would be a good addition because he can also play in any position in attack and can also play as a winger. I also believe he would offer a lot more to the team than Valencia, in spite of Valencia’s good performances last season.
    Regarding the need for a mid-fielder, there are rumors linking Cambiasso with United. He could certainly do the job that you highlighted. I also thought the Brazilian mid fielder Ramirez looked very promising yesterday.

  204. ashwinred says:

    Our squad is not good enough. We will be fortunate to finish in top 4 next season . Considering the strides made by mancity and spurs in transfer market we are going nowhere . We need a striker a creative midfielder and a ball winning midfielder like toulalan . We are a one man team . Don’t expect Chicarito to score 25 goals next season. We need some one like dzeko or fabiano or even a marquee signing like pato . All this can be done if SAF uses the money he claims is available for him . He should use it and stop doing a Wenger pretension that he has money but the market is inflated. We have enough young players and all the above transfers should be players who have proven themselves in a big stage.

    SAF has been continually saying that ” MUFC is always bigger than an individual” . If tats so and if he doesn’t sign worthy people he should be “sacked” . I understand that i have many swear words coming @ me but I want him to go because I simply believe SAF is misleading people abt Americans and the finances. If SAF speaks the truth abt finances no one will buy a single season ticket . His revelations would be the greatest thing he has done for the club to date . Even if we dont do well this season because of the protests coming from the Revelations i am sure we can get our football club back with a new stable owner within that period . We are man utd we should be signing players like dzeko , pato , aguero etc . We can drive out the americans only if SAF speaks the truth .

    Guys we should protest …..give up season tickets …….protest against aon ……protest against everything our club is associated with financially ….tats the only way we can save our club . I’ve seen people wasting a lot of time sitting on this blog posting comments for stupid issues but most of them forget the important thing .
    I wish I would be dead before citeh finishes ahead of united

  205. dela says:

    @ashwinred
    You’re either a retard or an ABU masquerading as a United supporter.

  206. arijc says:

    Looks like Tottenham’s bid for Kjaer has been accepted, Time to put the Kjaer rumors to bed now.

  207. dela says:

    Firstly, money doesn’t always guarantee success. Citeh bought plays by the hordes last season and yet how much of an improvement have you seen in their performances? So as far as Citeh finishing above United goes, it’s the sort of deluded statement blue knobs make. I’d rather worry about Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

    ‘Fortunate to finish in top 4 next season’? How many times have we heard that being said about us? We were favourites to drop out of the top 4 last season and still finished a point behind the eventual champions, in spite of having our entire defence in the treatment room for a month. We have retained that entire squad and have signed Chicharito- true we could still improve but how is this squad not good enough? We are not Real Madrid. Face it.

    I don’t understand why Sir Alex stands by the Americans either but do you really think that, after all that he has done for us, he deserves to be sacked simply for standing by the owners? You are saying all this after a season where we finished 2nd in the league and quarter-finalists in the Champions League. Hell, we did better than Real Madrid this season, with their Galacticos and whatnot. Where is the crisis you’re talking about?

  208. Rai says:

    Ashwinred-

    I agree about giving up season tickets, but you’re claim that we won’t finish in the top
    four is laughable!!!!! We’re not a one man team, agreed Rooney needs more support but to say we’re a one man team is disrespectful to all the other players.

  209. Fze123 says:

    @ ashwinred, we lost the League by 1 point, we were robbed of a place in the semis in the CL and could have well made the final if not for unfortunate circumstances. Get a grip, ffs, Shitty won’t get into the top 4, let alone finish above us.

  210. Costas says:

    While I am also concerned about the Glazers, I don’t think we are anywhere near finishing outside the top 4. Other than Rooney’s fitness, there are plenty of reasons to feel positive that next season we will be in with a strong shout. Plus, none of our rivals have gotten stronger either and Spurs will be pre occupied with the Ch.League(if they go through). Shity could be the wildcard next year, but it takes more than money as dela said.

    And we are not a one man team. That’s England as it became painfully obvious this month…

  211. King Eric says:

    gotta hate – Yes mate I thought mhirrh was an imposter of the other as well . Same negativity.

  212. King Eric says:

    ashwinred – strides made by Spurs and Citeh. What strides are these pal?

  213. King Eric says:

    Are you even serious? Fucking Dzeko and Pato. Pato hardly pulled up any trees last season and cannot even get in the fucking Brazil squad. Sack Fergie? Get a fucking grip.

  214. Hasan says:

    Vinay 2 6:53: “United can and do play a 4-4-2 against most premiership teams,”

    i know that BUT I think that – if given the choice – SAF wouldn’t set up the team that way. Last year, for instance he went out of his way to try and accommodate Dimitar Berbatov – by playing him alongside, ahead of, and behind WayneRooney – which didn’t produce much product, as it were. I dont’ think SAF will be so generous in accommodating that player in this way next season.

    Arijc @ 9:42 – unlike you, I wasn’t very impressed with Alexis Sanchez. I don’t think he would be an “upgrade” or an “Improvement” on Antonio Valencia. Purchasing Sanchez would be spending big money on the wrong target in the wrong part of the field – unless, of course, getting Sanchez would free Valencia to play an attacking midfield role in a forward-diamond formation, with two sitting midfielders (this is, of course, how RafaelBeneathUS set up the KopSuckers for their great run in 2008/9 and it worked well for them).

  218. King Eric says:

    Cannot believe people are still doubting Valencia on here. Strange. What do you want!! Watching the reruns the lad was fucking class. How else did Wayne score all those goals? Beggars belief.

  219. Rooney22United says:

    Valencia was superb last season! But somehow i feel Nani might just overtake Valencia this season. I was so excited to see Nani play in the world cup, but oh well… he’ll start the season with a bang.

  220. denton davey says:

    King Eric @ 13:06 and Rooney22United @ 14:34

    Right on. Antonio Valencia was terrific and, at 24/25, he’s still not peaked. Same goes for Nani – and WayneRooney. They’re all just approaching their prime-time years. And, the back-ups – KikoTheKid, Chicharito, and maybe Gabriel Obertan – aren’t too shabby, either. That’s sorted.

  221. ashwin says:

    @ all
    Thx for all the obnoxious comments . But I believe in what I’ve said . If we don’t invest Ronaldo’s money this season we are gonna go out of the top four this season or the season preceding it . For starters our squad should be good enough to be comparing with RMad Barca and Inter , Instead we sit here today to compare ourselves to Man City and Spurs . Spurs with a good manager who has CL exprience will have a great say . They have a fantastic squad which is gonna be improved further by Caviani and Kjaer . They are waiting for a catalyst like Cantona to shoot them up the ladder. I don’t see a single player other than rooney and maybe evra getting into madrid , barca and Inter’s squad . We are man utd and we should be the premier English club . I fear our standards are dropping . I believe fergie did’nt use to care about money when he did bring in marquee signings like Pallister , Keane , Cole , Veron , Berba etc. But today he sits here speaking about market value , resale value etc . I don’t berate him for that …..i berate him for standing by glazers and misleading supporters that money is still available and its he who doesn’t want to spend . I hope real supporters won’t renew season tickets and vehmently oppose all the brands our club is associated with . We must spend the rest of the year trying to drive out the americans and atleast hope that this squad which we have now is intact without our major players like rooney , evra not being sold .

  222. King Eric says:

    ashwin – Just one question. Do YOU have a season ticket?

  223. King Eric says:

    Marquee signings like Pallister and Keane. Sorry pal? One million even then is SLIGHTLY different than spunking 30 to 40 million on over rated shite who have done NOWT. Our lads are all fucking winners mate domestically and in Europe . How far did all Madrids spending get them last season?

  224. King Eric says:

    Finally do you REALLY think Fergie would protect the owners if his hands were tied? Would he fuck.

  225. Costas says:

    @ashwin

    Well, predicting United’s doom is obnoxious in itself. I agree with many if your points about the Glazers, but United still have a plenty of good players, not to mention youngsters. Only Rooney and Evra would get into Madrid and Barca’s teams? Vidic wouldn’t? Fletcher wouldn’t? Nani wouldn’t? Anyway, it’s not entirely up to United where they will finish. I can’t see which 4 teams will finish higher than us. 1 and maybe even 2, yes. 4? No.

  226. ashwin says:

    So u guys are telling me tat an engine room of scholes anderson fletcher and carrick would be doing great against Barca Rmad and Inter ??????? Don’t u remember the mauling barca gave us . We were supposed to improve after the defeat ???? But have we signed anyone or improved in that area ? I don’t wan’t to boot-lick SAF everytime . I feel my club is going stale like Tampa Bay did here in USA and I don’t care if it is SAF or Glazers ……I oppose everyone who contribute towards it . I respect SAF …..but I am distressed lately about his stand on glazers . If he says he has money to spend he should do it . If money has to be paid to bring in a player he has to do it . He can spend atleast 30-60 mill on 2 experienced players. If he does’nt have money he has to say that in public and not mislead people.

  227. willierednut says:

    ashwin – Why should SAF placate you, or anyone else? His main concern is Manchester United football club, rightly or wrongly, thats the case atm. In terms of signings, i agree we should bring in two players, but we’re not even into july yet, give it time friend.

  228. Costas says:

    Barca were superior on that day, but the devil is in the details as they say. And when I say details I mean: a) Fletcher missing, b) United dominating the first 10 minutes of the game and losing a glorious chance with Park to go ahead and c) Carrick and Anderson suffering injuries during the game. It is worrying that a year later, Fletch is still our most reliable player, but that doesn’t mean that Hargo and Ando can’t bounce back and help out next year.

  229. Fze123 says:

    d) Fergie tactically got it all wrong

  230. Costas says:

    @Fze123

    What would you have changed mate? Before the game, I was saying that Scholes was more suited than Giggs for that game. In hindsight, I would also say that Evans should have started instead of Rio. The other option was to start with either Berba or Tevez, but I can’t see how they would fit in given that Park was certain to start. Can’t believe it. 13 months later and this defeat still hurts like hell.

  231. ashwin says:

    All of u guys are missing the point that we have not improved fro that defeat . I am not arguing against fergie for the defeat . I meant to say that we have not improved from the defeat as all good teams do . We have lost ronnie and tevez after the defeat . We have’nt tried to rejuvenate our stale midfield. I dont buy all this shit about Fletcher . He is a good player but he is not a marquee midfield man whom u count to make a difference in attack like all big teams have . Just a practical question – Take out rooney from our squad and can u count on any other player to score goals every match ? Is there a decent 15 goal a season midfielder in our team ? Have we found replacement for scholes ? . So I do think fergie is wrong to say that he will buy only 1 player .

  232. King Eric says:

    ashwin – You have just answered my question. You live in the States, have probably never been to OT YET you are asking us to give up our season tickets? Whatever pal.

  233. King Eric says:

    Fletcher isn’t a marquee man. What shite. Because he isn’t a greasy Spaniard and Scottish you don’t rate him? He shits on every central midfielder he plays against.

  234. Fze123 says:

    @ Costas, I too would have started with Scholes, alongside Anderson, with Park on the left and Ronaldo on the right, and Tevez and Rooney up front. Carrick imo shouldn’t have started, his main asset is passing but he doesn’t often put a tackle in, something which Ando does. Tevez had experience playing in a final so that’s him over Berba. Ron as a lone striker worked well against Arsenal, but it didn’t against Barcelona. The lone striker role exploited his selfishness, his desire to do it all alone, but on the wing he would have been more focused on cutting inside and slicing in a pass/delivering crosses for Rooney and Tevez. Given Barcelona’s nervy start, I think we would have got a goal despite playing 4-4-2, but I don’t know if we would have been able to win. We were going to get punished without a Hargo or Fletch anyway, and add on the complacency, lack of hunger and the fitness of some of our players.

    I have not watched the final again, don’t think I ever will.

  235. Fze123 says:

    Fletcher is better than Gerrard and Lampard. Evra, Vidic, VDS, Rio, Rooney, Fletcher, Nani and a fit Hargo would get into Barca’s/Real’s team.

  236. ashwin says:

    @ King Eric

    Call me a glory hunter or whatever u may fell to do so . I know how i feel about united in my heart .

    My life long dream is to attend a Man Utd vs Liverpool match @ OT . Maybe I was born somewhere but I know i have the same passion . I am 23 , I’ve been following united for the past 15 years . I don’t remember how i started to follow united and why i did [so . U can’t give a specific reason for loving someone…u just love them . I am saving money for my trip and would be there soon and I hope glazers are out by then .

  237. King Eric says:

    ashwin – I in’t calling you a glory hunter, never said anything of the sort. Just find it a bit “off” you telling people to fuck their season tickets off when you don’t hold one yourself.

  238. King Eric says:

    PS Hope you get to make it there one day mate.
